The AC in our room wasn't working, so we were given another room, which was very helpful. Only real complaint is someone, presumably a cleaner, used our toilet when we were out. Usually wouldn't complain about something like that, but because of the smell we had to leave the hotel for a while away until it subsided. Overall, very affordable, and the staff were really accommodating otherwise.

The only positive , is that the hotel is very well located with a shopping mall center literally at walking distance. No stars for this stay ..

The hotel is not walkable to any of the main tourist sites. The hotel staff were unfriendly, we had our first night in a room with no airconditioning and the night hotel manager gave a lame story that it was usually how it works during winter, aircon is off and told us to open the window instead. Smell of sewerage coming out of the bathroom and they kept convincing us there is nothing wrong until on day 2 where we kept insisting for a room change, they very hesitantly transferred us to another room where the aircon WAS WORKING. There are no coffee/ tea facilities or small fridge unlike other Ibis hotels. Everytime you ask a question to staff they were arrogant and made us feel unwelcome. Only one of them understood what being in hospitality means.

Nice hotel, pretty basic but well located for the event I was attending.

The staff were lovely and very accommodating when I arrived early and was extremely tired after suffering with a migraine on my flight.

There's a shopping centre behind the hotel with nice food outlets, Juicy Avenue has amazing breakfast bowls and burritos!

The hotel is a good budget option. Its 10 mins walk to the metro, and the metro is a 10 minute journey to the centre. The room was small and basic but adequate. The staff were mostly great, all spoke good English. There is a modern shopping centre next door with loads of fast food options, and also a large modern supermarket. There is a lido opposite the hotel, but we didnt go because all the reviews said how dirty it was, but may be ok, especially if you have children. Breakfast was pretty good with an excellent coffee machine. Overall the hotel was good value for money.

Lovely friendly helpful staff. 24 hour check in and out. We found the mattress and cushions a bit on the hard side. I think they were memory foam? This wasn’t a problem as we still slept well. We stayed 3 nights. The breakfast was good and regularly replenished. The staff was very helpful. The room was kept very clean during our stay.

Hotel is situated in an central location, easy to gain access to metro, bus and train. Hotel was neat and comfortable. Staff were not the most helpful and friendly. We arrived at 11:00, hotel check in is meant to be from 13:00 onwards. The lady at the front desk said there was nothing she could do to assist an early check in and we should come back after 14:00. When we asked to leave our bags at the hotel, so we could go around easy, she was very hesitant and made us feel as if we were truly an inconvenience.

The hotel is 10 - 15 minutes walk to either the local bus stop or metro station for access to and from the city centre. It was easy to find. I found the staff to be polite, friendly, helpful and spoke English. The breakfast was good and fresh, although it would be a good idea for the hotel to provide scrambled or poached eggs to make the breakfast experience better.
Everything was clean and tidy within the room I stayed, as well as thoughout the hotel that I saw. There's a shopping mall behind the hotel with a selection of places to eat and it is not far from a convenient store.
I cannot fault my stay there.

A great weekend in Barcelona

We stayed during the very hot period at the beginning of August. Air con in rooms was amazing with rooms ice cold if required. Breakfast buffet was great with a good selection of cold meats, cheeses, cereals, breads and cakes, plus juice, tea & coffee. Hotel in a very friendly area with nearby restaurants used by the locals and serving great food at great prices. Close to metro & train station

A bit out of the way, but a nice hotel.

It's a bit out of town, but the area is nice, if a little quiet. It's a three to four hundred meter walk to the nearest station, but the walk is pleasant. Staff were very pleasant. Breakfast is continental but there is a bit of a selection, so overall, okay. There was a power outage to the entire building until 2:00am, which marred the exit of my family which were due to fly out at 6:45 next morning, but I think it was a one-off unforeseen event.

In general, I think Ibis hotels sail to close to the wind in turns of the staffing, and general maintenance (see my review of Ibis Paris 17 Clichy-Batignolles

The hotel staff are very helpful & friendly. The shopping centre with food outlets are within 1min walk. The metro station is about 5-10mins away. Not easy if you have too much things to drag along. We paid €43 to come by taxi from the El-Prat airport but upon checked out, we dragged our bags to the Metro station to get to Viladecans, it was easy.

Good location

On the outskirts of Barcelona but within 10 minute walk to train and metro stations. Near to large department store and small mall with bars and restaurants plus supermarket & McDonalds. Check in was quick but there was one member of staff in particular who was very officious and actually shouted at me when I went to go to the bar - why I have no idea! Bar/restaurant area could have been more inviting and was rarely manned except at breakfast. Breakfast itself was the usual continental meats, cheese, fruit, pastries, cereal etc with coffee, juices and tea. Cafeteria type self service and fairly plentiful. We did come back at the end of one day to find our room had not been made up but it was quickly resolved. Not one of the best Ibis's I have ever stayed at - the one redeeming feature was the chap on reception on our last morning as he helpfully organised our taxi to the airport.

It takes about 5 ~ 8 mins walking for Metro station Fabra i Puig. Very easy to take the metro to everywhere. Although this hotel isn't located in the down town, it still a nice choice.

If you would like to take the taxi to down town catalunya, it costs about € 15. The cheaper way is taking metro, it costs € 2.15 one way.

Quite a long walk from the train station so be sure to wear comfortable shoes. Located next to a mall which was convenient for eating when you weren't in town. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Air conditioning was a problem. Had to practically sleep in the nude because it was so hot in the room and the AC unit couldn't be adjusted below 19 degrees Celsius. The room was rather small for 3 people and the bathroom was a pod that you had to step up into (really weird).

Nothing wrong with the hotel itself. The staff were pleasant and the room was clean and we'll kept. However the location wasn't as ideal as we had thought. The metro station wasn't too far away put further than reviews made out. We also felt a little insecure walking back to the hotel from the metro station at night. Would be good for business travellers but not necessarily tourists.

The most horrible Ibis hotel we've ever stayed. It was so hot in the room, we cannot open the window at least we can get fresh air, the air conditioning was shut off. We complained to the reception but they kept making an excuse. The first main reason of our stay is a good sleep. I slept in the floor because it was cooler than the bed. My husband was sweating all night. On our second night they gave us another room to sleep in, we woke up at 1am because my husband and I both sweating, so we asked if they can at least give us another room with ventilation or open window but still the same hot room. Upon our check out we complained again of our discomfort stay in their hotel and guess what they said, we will switch on the air-conditioning again, our reaction WE don't need it., we are leaving now. For two days of our stay in this hotel we never get a good sleep. And we heard in the elevator some guest also complaining about the room temperature, it was HOT.

GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY

We had such a great stay at IBIS. It is so conveniently placed on the Red Metro line which is easy to access all the great spots in Barca. We couldn't believe what great value it was for the amount that we paid. The rooms were very clean and the hotel was spotless too. It is right next door to a big shopping centre with lots of restaurants, cinemas to choose from and an added bonus the VIrgin Active gym is there too.I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. Please note that you won't get the 5* add ons but it if you don't want any of those extras (room service etc) then you will be more than happy here. We will definitely be back next year.
