Lovely find, would say as a solo traveller again

Booked last minute for an event I was attending on my own in Cannes. Felty safe and cpomfortable there as a solo female traveller and would recommend. It's a 5 mins cab away, 30 mins walk Palais, or 40 mins scenic route along the beach to the Palais. It's a classic hotel, and my small 'traditional' room was quaint, well kept and all I needed. The ocean view was a great. Had the whole terrace and pool to myself too despite the hotel being full - worth noting though the pool is seasonal ie: not heated so brace yourself!

Me and my spouse were there for 2 nights. The first night we didn't have AC. The receptionist mentioned the AC is ON but we were literally sweating at night as the unit was just blowing air.
Next morning I checked with another receptionist and he told that the AC portion had to be turned ON from their end. We paid a good amount for our 2 nights. We won't be staying there again. The room is ok for 2 people but not enough lighting. Not enough plug points to charge your gadgets unless you remove the light plugs.

It is a beautyful hotel, but the staff is absolutely terrible. The Chinese lady at the reception screamed at me and challenged me to a fist fight, no kidding. I have never had such an experience in my life.

Lovely hotel.

Absolutely loved it here. Hotel had free parking and a beautiful pool and garden. The bedroom was lovely but very small-there was no plug by the table to plug the kettle in so had to unplug the air freshener and boil it on the carpet. The bathroom was clean but if Iwas nitpicking it could have been updated. Lovely view from the window. The bed was extremely comfortable. We didn’t have breakfast but it looked beautiful. Quite some way out of town but nice and quiet.

Camille was the saving grace. Bed comfortable, quiet. Lots of annoying little things that add up to overall not great experience. Check-in was super cold. Wifi very spotty- sometimes good, other times like a snail. Room was quite small. People should realize how far it is from anything- other than the beach. There are NO restaurants or boulangeries so choices for meals are the expensive restaurant in the hotel or driving/taking a taxi or ordering delivery (I don't think they were super thrilled I did this). Other than Camille, service felt like they were doing me a massive favor just to exist- everything felt like a chore to them. I would not recommend it or stay there again.

Dream vacation

This hotel has exactly the right mixture for a good vacation: nice rooms , indulging swimming pool, quiet surroundings outside the hustle bustle of Cannes.
We ordered a classic double room that was nicely decorated and I was worried that I will be disappointed but it was a nice room and the bed was soft and welcoming.
The hotel has a convenient parking and even if it’s full there is a convenient parking on the street free of charge .

We had an amazing stay at the Château de la Tour. The reception staff and bar staff out at the pool were incredibly friendly and made our stay so pleasant and relaxing. The pool and surrounding grounds were lovely, relaxing, and very peaceful. We didn’t want to leave, and will definitely be back.

Food and drinks very expensive though.and nowhere to shower if leaving on a late flight after 12pm checkout .Cannes 10 mins away by bus. Bus stop 2 min walk ,only wait 5 minutes as at least 6 buses stop there cost 1.5 euros

Felt very mislead by the photos of the room that I was supposed to get. I planned to do my proposal to my girlfriend at this hotel but was very disappointed to be placed in such a tiny room that’s no where close to what it looked on the photos. Very disappointing.

Liked the hotel but realised shd have had a pool view, which we didn’t get. Back of hotel view - can provide pics. Tried to get some food by the pool on a sunny Sunday at 3pm. Advised not possible - only room service available, which had to be taken in room - until 7pm. Hotel location quite a way out of town, which was fine until needed to go out of hotel to find food. Hotel kitchen was open as Cld accommodate room service menu but wldn’t allow for same menu to be served on the premise, just not in room. Very disappointing lack of customer service / focus.

The style and ambience was from an age of elegance. It oozed charm and tranquillity. Although small, the room was comfortable and well equipped. The restaurant was a little OTT, it was clearly struggling to attract diners to its ' fine dining' experience. Tje staff were a little over attentive and tje price to value ratio questionable.

Will never book again through Wotif , you do not care about the clients at all , I made a booking of triple room for 2 adults and a child , the confirmation came back just for 2 adults, i sent you an email with a screen shot of the booking i made and i recieved no answer. I came to check in and the receptionist gave us hard time and made us pay for a child accomodation.
The worest and stressful experience
will never use or recommend your service or this hotel.

Very small room. Entry door hits the nightstand so it cannot be opened fully. Mini bar frig door hits bed and cannot be opened fully. Key for mini frig does not fit in slot. Air conditioning stopped after a day. Management apologized but did not offer any compensation. Nothing about the room we had was 4 Star.

Lovely hotel, quiet area and easy to go to busy Cannes by bus (15 min)
Restaurant is not practical to eat something on the go. They should include additional items in the menu and make sure guests can access to that 24hs.
Lovely pool area though could be hard to get a sun bed during sunny weekend.

Could be amazing but wasn't.

On paper this place looks amazing, however it misses the mark somewhat. The welcome from the staff at check-in was lack-lustre at best. We weren't made to feel particularly special or welcome. The room was small but ok. The bathroom was a bit tired and the shower bracket was broken. Lunch was good if a little small and not good value for the portion size. The same with dinner, the food was ok but there was not much of it. The pool area is lovely and the grounds are well maintained. All in all it feels like it just needs a bit of TLC and a few new staff members that want to be there and know how to raise a smile.

Terrible internet! It's a smoking hotel!

A hotel that won't spend $500 a month to provide at least a 10 mpbs internet service (1 mpbs on its best day here), should give the game up. Unless you're looking for a hotel that doesn't have this service.

It bills itself as a smoke free hotel. This is not the case. Smokers everywhere in the restaurant.

On arrival, I was informed they had double booked my last night, so I would have to fine another hotel.

Otherwise, nice location, nice pool, nice rooms.

Average hotel but just a bit too far away from tow

The hotel itself is ok. Clean and nice decor. Our room, a standard classic, was the smallest room I think I have ever stayed in. We had to ask for a chair to be removed to save keep walking into it. Service has a lot to be desired. Breakfast, although nice food, is run by one guy frantically making coffees and running for plates and cutlery. Don't expect someone to come to your table. My French is limited so asking for even some simple requests was difficult as the staff didn't seem to understand. Finally although it has a good pool with a good view the hotel is a bit too far from the town. Around 30 mins walk either down a busy main road or down then beach and under some dodgy underpasses. In summary I wouldn't return to this hotel

Terrible experience, 3 stars at best...

I have never encountered a more dismissive, unprofessional staff. The manager and concierge staff are just plain rude. The waiter is on his phone texting for so long we along with others in the dining room and bar had to tap him on the shoulder or just left due to the long wait. The hotel was nice but not what it claimed to be. The room was fine but there were major issues. First, you had no personal control over the temperature of your room. The entire hotel had the heat turned on, not air conditioning in late April when the temperature was in the 70's. When we complained we were given a crapppy fan to keep by the bed! Also there was not one plug in the dimly lit bathroom so it was impossible to do your hair with a divice or shave. There were no mirrors anywhere else in the room so no alternate solution was possible. Overall more of a 3 star hotel at best.

Nice hotel outside the city center

We were staying for a week from Sept 4th. Good hotel located 10 mins away of the city center, 5 mins walking distance to be beach, 7 mins driving distance to the supermarket. Hotel looks like an old castle, very clean, pool was very cold and deep. Stuff was very pleasant. However, one negative drawback: you are not allowed to eat and especially drink your own wine in your room. We brought a couple of bottles from the airport and both receptionist and bartender refused to open it or give an opener.

We visited this hotel just for 2 nights but it wasn't enough. We arrived in the hotel in the nighttime and we were very excited from the first impression. The hotel has free parking, the reception is friendly and helpful, the room quite big and looks like a room from a castle (chateau). It's also very clean. The location of this hotel is very close to the beach, i think 10min maximum walking distance, 10 min by car from town center. If you want to discover Cote d'Azur i recommend this hotel.

Hotel is a little dated. We have two kids, so needed two rooms. Both rooms had signs of mold on the bathtub wall tile. One of our rooms had a very slight musty scent. The a/c in one of the rooms did not cool the room enough. The infinity pool area is beautiful with cabanas free to use. The pool water is very clean and refreshing. A great hotel if you want to spend a quiet lazy day by the pool. I'd give this 3 stars, not 4.

The other 5 hotels we stayed in touring France all had BBC News 24 to allow us to keep up with events at home. The Hotel had French obviously, German, Russian and Spanish channels.

Lovely hotel, beautiful pool area and very clean. Take insect repellent as we all got bites! Rooms were often left with no toilet roll and tea/coffee/shower products were not replenished, but that's a minor complaint as the cleanliness was very good. Reception staff are excellent - very helpful indeed. Beds not really that comfortable, they need to change the mattresses.

Stay at the Hotel De La Tour

The hotel is situated on a hill a car is a requirement. Otherwise it is a bit of a treck to get to it. The staff were friendly and helpful. The neighbourhood was not too clean there were irresponsible dog owners. Spent a lovely night in the hotel, the bed was comfortable with a lovely head rest and the bathroom had a turkish design only shower no baths. The dinner was lovely. There hotel had a lovely view of Cannes.

Marvelous hotel!

We stayed at this hotel for 11 days with my wife. It is located in a very quite place of the city, from where you can reach the center of Cannes in 10 minutes walking time. Overall we liked the hotel and its amenities (outside swimming pool, massage, etc). It also has very very good restaurant where you can try delicious French dishes and its own wine cellar. The personnel of the hotel is very friendly and ready to help 24 hours a day. I recommend the hotel who values the quality for money.

The hotel is on a hill near the Cannes La Bocca local train station. It is a bit of a hike up hill with bags, but only a short walk if you are packing a light overnight bag. The hotel is quiet, peaceful, and has beautiful grounds. It is not right in the center of town, but it is a short car ride. The hotel offered free shuttles during the Cannes Film Festival, an excellent free breakfast, and even free dinner. We were out during dinner hours, but the breakfast was delicious.

The rooms are a bit small, and the wifi wasn't hyper fast, but it worked great. The staff was extremely helpful and nice.

If you want a peaceful stay in a beautiful mansion near Cannes. This is the place.

The hotel is well looked after and room was small but very comfy. The restaurant on the terrace was nice and food was OK. They need to be more attentive to detail on client requirements of the cooking of the dishes. i.e;. Steak overcooked etc. Still a pleasant meal though in nice surroundings. At checjk out I found an unwarrented charge on the bill which was then recified when pointed out. Not the sort of thing I would expect expect from a hotel of this nature.

Simply Excellent!

I can't say enough good things about the Chateau De La Tour. I have stayed in the Cannes area several times, including at the Carlton and several top places on La Croisette. This hotel is intimate and beautiful, and the staff is caring and very pleasant. The facilities are excellent, spacious and many things that should be free are (parking, wifi, etc.). The hotel is in a very convenient location for exploring Cannes and the entire Cote d'Azur, and it is walking distance to the beach. The entire staff - from the owner to the waiters - worked very hard to please, and they deserve great compliments. It is a rare jewel, at an excellent price to value ratio, and I will recommend it to everyone I know. Kudos for a job well done!

Charming hotel with pool.

We chose this hotel because it had a swimming pool in a beautiful setting with a bar and where meals are served. It was a short bus ride to the Center and the buses came every fifteen minutes. The hotel is being totally renovated, and has a charming and helpful new owner since 2012. The staff was helpful and the chef is amazing. We ate two memorable dinners there but we found 17euros for a continental breakfast far too expensive. The room was small, but adequate. We loved the large walk-in shower.

This hotel is perfect if you have a car and would like to explore the area around . It was also great to relax between our day trips. Very accommodating staff and pleasant surroundings. If you are looking for quiet and comfortable accommodations away from the tourist packed Canne center it is the place to stay. The families with small children
seemed very pleased with their stay.

Went out for work, so didn't get to enjoy Cannes too much. But the hotel is very nice and well priced. Its walking distance to downtown Cannes (~30-45 minutes), and the beach is probably about a 5-10 minute walk. Parking is a little tight on the premise, but at the base of the driveway is additional parking...I didn't have any issues...Great place!

We were on a driving holiday and stayed here for 3 nights. Just so we could have a full day in Monaco (45mins away) and St Tropez the next (1hr30) . A great location if you are thinking of driving there. Safe and private parking. Staff were very good and offered us the choice of 2 rooms when we got there. We opted for the see view room. I would recommend this hotel. Food was expensive but then so was every thing in that area. It was nice food though. We did not use any of the facilities to be honest, so could not comment on that.. I would recommend this hotel.

Good things: friendly and polite staff, free parking, breakfast, swimming pool.
Bad things: room - small with specific smell, sometimes in the morning the was no hot water - it was just a liitle bit warm. If you want to take a normal shower, you must wake up early.

Quiet friendly hotel not far from downtown

This hotel was a pleasure to stay in. I really couldn't fault anything. Our room was on the second floor and had a nice view of the bay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a car so drove into town but there was a bus stop at the corner of the road.
Would choose it again without hesitation.

This hotel was so romantic loved it, only thing was a little way out to get into Cannes! Would go back, room was lovely and bed was so comfy, staff were very helpfull, didn't eat there as a little pricy for us! Around the pool though the day was so relaxing sort music playing and hot clean towels to hand, could just see the sea! Over all loved it,just what we needed.

Delightful hotel at a reasonable price

We stayed for 6 nights in July. The Hotel was set in beautiful grounds, just a 10 minute bus ride/30 min stroll away from the Croisette (Cannes town centre). The hotel itself was a little dated but the staff were extremely friendly and the rooms were immaculately cleaned every day. The pool area and the restaurant area were very nice although we didn't have breakfast. About 5 minutes walk is a delightful little village and a less busy stretch of beach. This hotel is ideal for families and couples who want to be away from the hustle and bustle of Cannes.

I enjoyed my stay at the Chateau de la Tour. The room was spacious, well maintained with a nice clean (renovated I think) bathroom as I saw in the pictures. The front desk had very nice manners as expected based on the level of the hotel, and the restaurant was very good and quite reasonably priced for a hotel. It helped as the hotel is located about 10min driving distance from the city center, and whenever we felt too tired to go out at night, we had very good time at the restaurant. It has a very calm, serene atmosphere, so we wish to go back in the summer when we can hang out on their terrace (it was raining when we were there).

A hidden gem

Hotel in good location - beautifully kept - we had a problem with the car, manager went out of his way to help us - staff all really friendly and helpful. Food in restaurant very good - nice touch that manager came to restaurant every evening to check if we were happy with meal etc.
A real little gem - can't wait to return

A pleasant stay

Swimming pool area is very classy and relaxed. Staff were very heplful. Main issue is lack of shuttle bus into Cannes (can get public bus at end of road but not as convenient). Rooms are nicely furnished but small. Good secure parking at front of hotel. Food was a bit pricey.

Lovely hotel in need of an upgrade

Lovely hotel in a quiet neighbourhood only a short drive from Cannes and close to the beach but desperately in need of an upgrade. The location means you do need a car to go out at night but the local bus service is also very regular and super inexpensive. We have a lovely time and would go back , staff in particular were amazing, but the hotel really is crying out for some investment in new curtains, carpets, wall paper which all look like they have seen better days. Still would recommend it though for the stunning building and grounds, great staff, nice pool and quiet location.

Chateau in Cannes

My favorite decor of the 5 places we stayed! True French furnishings. The room was clean and cozy, even with a second bed for our teenage daughter. The towel boy/bartender took great care of us when we needed. The distance to the beach wasn't too bad but the hills may make it difficult for older people. The Chateau was charming and a great value for Cannes! Would stay there again if I return to Cannes.

Nice clean rooms. Property was well maintained and in good condition. You can walk to the beach but have to take bus or drive to get to downtown area. Overall we were very satisfied with our stay.

Good Location, Quiet Neighborhood

The only thing I did not like about the hotels is the room. It is a bit small. Not enough space to use a laptop. It has no internet connection in the room (wired or wireless), however, wireless is available at the lounge at the lobby. As in many other places in France, you have to pay for car parking as well. The hotel is within a walking distance from the sea, and it has a very quiet location. This may change during Cannes Festival & Summer time.
The reason I gave 3 stars rating is size of the room & access to internet connection.
If you need internet access, then this hotel is not the place to stay.

Amazing experience and great value for money!

Beautiful hotel and great experience. Had wonderful sea view room. Just 10 minute walk from beach and 30 minute walk from the centre of Cannes, so if you don't mind being outside the city centre you'll get great value for money. Great train ride into Monaco with great sea view.

The hotel was quite nice, on a hill so a short walk to the nearest bus stop, the hotel is on the west side of cannes but its a very short 5mins bus ride into the centre (€1).
Rooms were clean, nice size beds, all the amenities.
The end of september is out of season so it wasn't very busy at all but the weather was great 25C everyday, worth a visit for a relaxing weekend away.

Great for a quiet get away in a beautiful location

Extremely pleasant experience at the Chateau de la Tour. Hotel in a beautiful location set amongst quiet gardens, with very easy access to Cannes centre via a five minute bus journey. Beach in an easily walkable distance. Room and facilities were fantastic- rooms are decorated in a beauiful baroque contemporary style, and bathroom very large and to a high standard. Unlike a lot of the reviews on here the rooms were NOT small- we had one of the smallest in the hotel, and there was ample space. Pool area lovely with excellent waiter service should you want drinks/ snacks. Would recommend it to couples and families alike!

A Hidden Gem in Cannes 2

We recently returned to Hotel Chateau De La Tour and our experience was again outstanding. This is a very well run hotel that does everything to make its guests as welcome and satisfied as possible. I've stayed at most of the grand hotels in Cannes over the years, but find I'm happiest to be at Hotel Chateau De La Tour.

Quiet Hotel, helpful staff

A little away from cafes and beach etc so you need a car to get around. Room was small but clean and made up every day. Staff friendly and helpful. Only negative would be breakfast overpriced for what you get. Would go back again.

Smalls Rooms and Inattentive Staff made for a Poor Stay

Arriving late on a Sunday night the outside of the hotel looked great. We took our room key and went to possibly the smallest room I have ever been given. When we brought the case in it was necessary to squeeze round it to close the door. We asked for an iron to press some shirts (something we had to do in person as the phone in the room didn't work) the iron tripped the breaker for the room plunging it into darkness. Another trip down to reception to get the only member of staff in the hotel to reset it and the heater in the bathroom comes on full blast. \"no you cannot turn it off - you must wait 10 minutes and it will go off\" was the response. We asked for another room, which thankfully was bigger. If only the bed was slightly softer than a cotton covered granite slab it could have been comfortable for the week. The phone in this room also didn't work, wifi was only available in the bar, so the hotel is not really appropriate for business.
Unfortunately the staff lacked some charm. My wife asked if there was something to wipe down the chairs outside, \"no\" was the response from reception. In the bar on the last night asking for a slice of lemon a single slice was brought to the bar by the staff member clutched between thumb and forefinger, neither appropriate nor hygienic.
Overall not a great experience and not what we had hoped for – I would not recommend the hotel.

Looking forward to going again

The hotel is lovely - beautifully furnished and very clean. Breakfast was a bit pricey at 17 euros so a coffee and croissant in town was better value. Generally a great hotel and must be even better in the summer when you would be able to make use of the outdoor pool and garden.

A Jewel in Cannes

If you are not swayed by the need to stay on the Croisette this is the best hotel value in Cannes. It helps to have a car since it's a five minute ride to the Croisette, but only a five minute walk to a beach.

Pretty Hotel, but expensive for food, and little atmosphere

The Hotel as about a 30 minute walk from the centre of Cannes town - however, there is a bus stop 3 minutes walk from the hotel, and gets you into Cannes for 1 euro. Saying that however, we did actually walk all the time (if you go through the grounds of the hospital opposite the end of del a tour road, then the walk into town is along the seafront road, and is very pleasant. The hotel is very pretty and set in nice grounds. The food is expensive and the restaurant isnt open every day (closed sunday and monday) - we found it lacking in atmosphere, probably because it is a smallish hotel, which was only half full during our stay, and no one seemed to eat there (prob because of the cost), so it seemed a little dead - but this did make it quiet :) Staff were very friendly and helpful and all spoke English very well. There is no kettle in the room (only mentioned as we were hoping for one, so assume others may find this little nugget useful). The cheapest rooms (which we were in) are smaller than those in the pictures, and only have shower, not a bath - they are appointed in the same style though, and being on the ground floor was a bonus as we had french doors onto a little patio area with a couple of chairs, which makes the room seem alot larger than it is. All in all it was very pleasant

Nice and Quiet

On arriving at this hotel we thought how delightful it looked, set in very pretty surroundings. Hotel room was lovely and having prevoiusly read other reviews about the size of the room we were concerned we were going to be spending a week in a small room, but our room was a good size on the ground floor with a terraced area outside containing two chairs (all be it they were rather rusty and not suitable to sit on without marking your clothes). The room was cleaned well although it was not serviced until after 1pm. Swimming pool area was OK, towels are provided which was good although I did ask for a umberella one day as the sun was quite intense and there was no shade at all around the pool - a member of staff went off to find out where the umberella's were and came back and advised me there wasn't any as they had all broken which I thought was a bit of a poor excuse for a 4* hotel. Breakfast was OK, quite expensive for what it is and after two mornings can get a bit samey so we opted to eat out after this. We did not have a car so we were reliant on public transport to get us around, this entails a walk of about 5 minutes down a hill to get to the nearest bus stop, sometimes if you are lucky the hotel will remember to open a gate which cuts off a chunk of the walk but we found it a bit hit and miss as to whether the gate was open at the bottom of the path. Overall though enjoyed the stay would visit the hotel again.

Needs Improvement

I selected Hotel de la Tour as the final night of my \"sejour en France\" as my stay the previous year was highlighted by friendly courteous service throughout the hotel and attractive surroundings.

Unfortunately, the stay did not meet my expectations. The restaurant was not open for dinner, the light and the television did not turn on as they had been unplugged and were most difficult to reconnect. The most disturbing was the fact that I did not receive the wake-up call I requested. When I confronted the front desk associate upon check-out, he replied that my phone was off the hook.
I, myself am the owner of a small hotel, and we make sure that every effort is made to issue guests receive wake-up calls.

Very impressive

We stayed at the hotel 4 nights & were extremely impressed. Lovely room & furnishings & good pool. Although not in the centre of Cannes the bus service was extremely convenient & at 1 euro for the short ( 10 min.) journey was good value.The only downside was a limited al a carte menu. But plenty eating places in centre.We also got an unbeatable deal with Expedia

Équipe au top, très professionnelle. Prestations et propreté impeccable.
Petits déjeuners bien garnis et goûteux.
Piscine géniale.
Côté restaurant, compliments au chef Didier ANIES qui a su régaler nos papilles.
Petit bémol sur notre chambre le wc un peu coincé contre le meuble vasque, et la robinetterie un peu difficile à tourner.
