Stayed four nights while touring Normandy. Quiet rural area; close to the D Day beaches and Bayeux with restaurants is 20 minutes away.
We got the original master’s suite which was huge, quiet, appointed with antiques, frr we may like living in a castle. Rather dark.
No elevator - stone steps to get in the front door and thankfully up just one marble staircase, with heavy luggage. No fridge in room. TV not connected to internet. When my husband asked at front desk about getting ice, he got a puzzled look and was told to try the bar. Polished but unfriendly front desk. Not there to help. No one on premises after 11 PM.
Only dining options are the expensive buffet breakfast, fancy restaurant got dinner that opens at 7 PM, or the bar which is large and cozy and has charcuterie boards you can order. So, getting food in this remote town is an issue (No eateries in village of Crépon).

We arrived after several days of busy travel to a restful paradise! The architecture immediately started relieving the stress of travel and the beautifully maintained grounds and peaceful atmosphere helped us regain a sense of peace in the busy hustle and bustle. Would definitely recommend for anyone wanting to get away from stress and just breath freely for a few nights. We felt completely safe the whole stay and were treated with great kindness and deference.

Beautiful hotel, however staff need training in service and managing guests. The front desk called my room as a complaint was made about my children walking around by the guests below, at 10am. It is no one’s fault if floor boards creak and I think this is a reasonable time for people to walk around. I am not sure quite what the staff wanted us to do, other than be still. Disappointing service. Does not make this a ‘family-friendly’ hotel.

Overall this hotel was fabulous! We used it as a base to explore WW2 sites and was very easy to get around the Normandy coast. Large, comfortable rooms with top notch amenities. Hotel staff was super friendly, engaging and helpful. The restaurant was excellent with a varied range of food options and reasonably priced for the great quality. WiFi was excellent!

We have just returned from a week at Le Ferme del la Rançonnière and it was superb. Cosy, warm room with beautiful items of furniture and gorgeous decor. The only small things we would advise when booking is… make sure you ask for big windows if you want them. Some of the rooms are quirky and ours had a small ‘porthole’ window and a lower down window in the lounge area and one thing tall window in the bedroom. We didn’t mind too much but it does mean the room is quite dark. Other than that we would have liked more towels when they changed them as there were three of us and as I suggest to all hotels - more creamer or milk. I love a cup of coffee in the room after a long day chasing museums etc and I always have to make sure I bring/ buy my own. I would also recommend bringing all your own toiletries. All in one hair/ body wash is not for me I am afraid. BUT these are so minor I would not mark them down for this. Staff were all friendly and helpful, the hotel is located in a pretty good position for exploring D Day sites, memorials and cemeteries as well as bayeaux, Caen and Arromanches. We drove and had no parking issues. Parking is at the back of the hotel but easy to access from wherever your room is. The food in the restaurant was sublime! Best risotto I have ever had and the desserts were heavenly. We definitely will return and look forward to our next stay!

We traveled in the area and used La Ferme for our base and it did not disappoint. From the moment we arrived we felt like a part of the \"family,\" the receptionist Franck ensured a seamless check in process, told us all the details and even escorted us to our room, we felt so welcomed here by ALL the staff. The room was spacious and it felt like a trip back through time yet equipped with modern conveniences. The daily breakfast was delicious and offered a variety of options for various eaters. There was a memorial directly across the street and showed La Ferme and its use in the war, which made a nice connection too. I would definitely return here and stay, it was simply unbelievable!!

Very Beautiful and very friendly staff. Must have a rental car! No Uber. Ceilings and doors too low if 5’11! Very hard to get into bed or walk out of room. Too many spiders!! Dinner was just so so and very limited. Had to hitch hike back from Courseulles-sur-mer. Taxis to Utah was over 150 Euros one way.

Despite making three personal requests, including going to the front desk and asking for a fan, we did Receive a fan which made for a terrible night of sleep, unfortunately. major letdown for us was the terrible Wi-Fi speed and service interruptions constantly Unfortunately, we needed the Wi-Fi that evening, but could not use it at all. The real challenge with Expedia Reservations like this one is their app which they claim allows you to message the property however the message feature has not worked on this end of the properties we have booked during the day. They also provide the prop a bizarre and unattended Expedia email and not the guests personal email, which was a huge and vacation ruining experience Ing this day for us. We could not communicate with the property and the property had some restrictions regarding check-in time which were not reflected on The Expedia mobile app used to make the reservation. We are starting to lose our faith slowly in the Expedia and Hotels.com brands as their customer service has practically vanished.

Lovely historic building - located in a small town, close to Caen, Bayeux (with its famed tapestry), Normandy D-day history sites.
Very clean. Restaurant was great. They have a tennis court and a little farm with VERY cute bunnies. Only thing to note is that they don’t supply conditioner so ladies bring your own or let your hair get frizzy like I did.

The property was very quaint and quiet. We were doing a lot of sightseeing and mostly slept comfortably. An AC unit and elevator would have been nice, but receptionist helped carry our luggage. The Hotel was stunning as was the location. Everything you'd expect from a 4 star accommodation. Thr room was tastefully decorated. Unable to walk on the tiled floor in the room until the 4th visit from the cleaners, it had a slight sticky like feel to it, the floor hadn't been washed on the previous 3 visits. We were in a room above the restaurant which closed at 9pm, but chairs were getting scraped accross the floor as late as 11.15pm by staff or patrons. On one of the nights at approx 11.30pm a guest was screaming and giggling with his child about 7 years old in the courtyard which went on for about 20 minutes, no staff intervention. When any accommodation advertises wi-fi it should be faultless, the connection we had from our room was constant buffering, having to reconnect or no service at all. Very poor. TV supposed to have international channels, it had none whatsoever. Had drinks on our first night at a total of 15 euros for only 1 glass of wine and a half pint of lager. The breakfast was continental at a cost of 18 euros per person, extortionately expensive at that price.

From the outside, it looks like an old farmhouse, which I guess it was. But from the inside, it’s lovely and the grounds are lovely. They say you need to check in by 9 PM, but when we got there, they said the front desk was open all night, so I wouldn’t worry too much about the check-in deadline. There is plenty of free parking. The only problem with getting there late is that the Hôtel Restaurant closes rather early.

We had a lovely stay on this beautiful property. It’s a perfect location for visiting the Normandy Landing Beaches. The staff was very friendly and helpful; the breakfast was delicious; the grounds are beautiful. We had a family room (2 bathrooms) which was spacious and comfortable. It was so quiet. We also really enjoyed the giant chess set. Added bonus: electric car chargers on the property. My only regret is that we didn’t stay there longer. Highly recommend.

Hotel is beautiful and in a great location, comfortable clean room with plenty of character, receptionist friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, the rest of the staff, what there was of them were surly, food choices limited, expensive and pretentious, restaurant and bar only open to 9pm. Told restaurant was popular and so needed to book a table, the reality is that they don’t have enough staff to deal with the number of guests staying. Small things, no bottled water or tea in room, only instant coffee, given the standards the hotel Ferme de La Ranconniere advertise, this isn’t acceptable.

We were delighted to be back after over twenty years to see the developments over the time. It is a beautiful place. The only downside was the lack of evening meal due to the closure of the restaurant on two nights due to inability to hire staff.

Everything was excellent....service, food, accommodations. The property is spectacular and the staff is above and beyond. The main purpose of the trip was to honor the fallen heroes of the summer of 1944 and to enhance our understanding of that history. Ferme de la Rançonnière was the perfect cntral location from which to do that.

We were put in the Manoir de Mathan, which is a property about 1/2 mile from the main hotel. Upgraded to a suite. Nice enough room and a comfortable bed. Breakfast was good served in the coutrtyard below our room. Overall a nice experience, although I do find it strange that a high class hotel such as this does not have a 24 hour reception/front desk.

Beautiful grounds! Beautiful rooms. Surroundings are lovely. Only issue was based on number of adults and children that Expedia booked more rooms than we needed which made it more expensive. Food at restaurant was delicious. Took a while to complete the meal.

It's set in a rural setting near the D-Day landing beaches and Bayeux and the main property had lovely grounds. Despite reserving several months in advance, we learned upon arrival we were in the annex building about 800 meters away so we felt like we were missing out on some of the amenities. Ultimately, it wasn't worth the price quoted on Expedia; as with anywhere, the owner mentioned we should've reserved directly with the property to access more deals.

Amazing place for the quality of the rooms, the welcome of the staff in both reception and restaurant, and the very good food at reasonable prices. The location, close to Arromanches was also perfect for a visit to the beaches. We will definitely return soon!

An amazing place. Each room is unique and they made sure our room was exactly what we wanted. It was built before Columbus discovered America but is in amazing condition!! The staff was so nice and helpful. The food is fabulous at the restaurant! We loved just being there but don’t miss the surrounding area steeped in history!
