Loved the view and the pool but the room wasn’t clean but staff got right on it. They have nicer rooms but for the price of mine I guess the lack of maintenance is to be expected. All the staff was lovely. I would stay here again just for the sunsets

Hotel was ok, rooms and hotel in general looked very warn out and old. Carpet in hotel room was ancient. Drain in bathroom wouldn’t drain away quickly enough so constantly a puddle of water in there when family wanted to shower. Television in room never worked.

The property feels unorganized, there is a large empty space just next to the corridors. The rooms are not soundproof, you can hear guests passing by or next door. Our room had water clogging issues, an rainfall shower, and ceiling residue on the towels. The hotel could use better maintenance.

Disappointing Stay Despite Prime Location

I recently stayed at this hotel, and unfortunately, my experience was far from pleasant. The rooms were not as advertised in the pictures, which was the first of many disappointments. Upon arrival, I noticed there were no towels or hand towels provided. Despite multiple requests and a long wait of about six hours, I had to visit the reception four times before I finally received them.

Additionally, there were no phones in the rooms, making it inconvenient to communicate with the staff. The rooms themselves were in poor condition: they smelled unpleasant, and the carpets were dirty with numerous hairs scattered around. This level of cleanliness was unacceptable and made the stay uncomfortable.

I paid extra for an upgrade and was moved to a room in the new building. While this room was in better condition, it came with its own issues: the water pressure in the bathroom was poor, and I lost the beach view I had initially paid for.

The only positive aspect of this hotel is its convenient location near the beach. However, this alone does not justify the poor service and subpar room conditions.

Overall, the hotel failed to meet expectations, and I would not recommend staying here unless significant improvements are made. The high cost does not match the quality of the accommodations or the service provided.

We have been going to the malibest resort for about 5 years its not a 5 star hotel if that's what you are looking for but all the staff are very friendly Azril who cleaned are room was very good and accomadating the room's are looking very tired and really are in desperate need of updating one of the things that i find a bit odd is there is only one chair in the room but there is two people staying in the room so this means only one person can site on the balcony wihch was a let down

Such A Disappointment

The aircondition kept on switching off every 5 minutes. I did ask them to fix sink pipe but they didn’t. Plus, the shower water from the heater was way too hot. Can’t even take our shower with it. TV was also not working. No wifi provided too. I was so disappointed. Won’t be staying here again next time.

Get woken up by builders early every morning

Location is good, on the beach and close to bars and the main street. Hotel room tired but ok. Not given any information at check in except location of the room, shy customer service, seemed nervous to speak to international travellers. Very territorial about towels. Swimming pool uncovered so full of leaves. Workmen started loudly working on the hotel roof outside the room at 7-8am every day, so not exactly a relaxing break. But close to the beach in the centre of the strip.

Love how near the beach are to the resort. The resort is upgrading and building more rooms tho, but pleasant so far. The only problem would be sand coming into the room but would suggest if they could provide a broom to sweep thr sands out. But overall love our stay. My young kids love it.

Great location. Fabulous views from room. THis is a beach resort hotel, so everyone has wet towels and swim suits. There is no where to dry them except the balcony. No clothes line in the bathroom or on the balcony. There is only 1 chair in the room. Nice walk to Best Star hotel for breakfast.

Aircond not cool, the receptionist quite far and they forgot to put towels on the day we arrived. On the next day the hotel card not working and need to wait for them around 15 minutes to come. Somehow the hotel staffs look very inexperience.

The parking also very limited, first come first serve basis.

The good side the hotel was very close to the cenang beach, a lot of shops and very happening at night. If you want much cheaper tour trip, go to the kiosk at the AB Hotel.

The only positive was that it was a very short walk to the beach. The room itself was very disappointing, the room safe didn’t work upon our arrival and the television didn’t get any signal on any of the channels but it wasn’t worth raising the issue as I didn’t want to be in the room more than I needed to. The towels were provided daily but the toiletries left were minimal for two people sharing. The staff weren’t very pleasant either. There’s definitely better value for money in the same area.

if you travel with young kids family, better contact hotel to confirm your room need to cross roadside before reach beach. I have book standard brick room with 2 double beds but when I check-in, staff informed that my room need to cross roadside, so I have no choice to upgrade room RM60/night x 2 = RM120 in order to get room opposite road for safeguard of my kids.

The location of this hotel is AMAZING! You cannot be more beach front than the Malibest. The beach and sea are incredible, the staff are friendly and helpful. The only downside was the pool, it was closed for maintenance, and when opened it was green, but we were not too disappointed as the sea was so amazing!

Excellent location. And for the price this was extreme value for money. The Pool was quiet and the kids loved it, especially the water slide and the room was 10 metres from the beach. When we arrived we had a blocked sink and this was fixed immediately. Staff were very good!! Room was comfortable and nice and cool.
Only downside was the parking as had to park about 5 to 10 minute walk away !! but that was fine

Reception very disorganised on arrival. We discovered the following day that they were moving their reception to the new building. No follow up when we informed the staff that our safe was locked and we were unable to use it. House keeping staff and staff around the resort friendly but reception not welcoming. Poorly designed bathroom with drainage for shower being on the opposite side of the room to shower so water ran in front of the toilet. A slip and fall hazard.

This hotel was in a great location but that’s the only positive thing that can be said about it. The building looks like it’s falling apart, the bed sheets and linens are dirty, as are the walls in the rooms. The bathroom is terrible and every time you shower it gets everything wet, including the toilet. When they “clean” your room, they basically just make the bed but don’t replenish the bath soap or clean the floors. There are no lounge chairs or sun umbrellas near the pool, just white plastic chairs and not enough of those. There is no phone in the room so if you need anything, you have to go down to the reception area to ask for it. They also make you pay a deposit of 100 ringgit in CASH (no credit card). They give every guest one bath towel per person, no hand towels or washcloths are available. When I wash my hair, I need two towels – one for my body and one for my hair. The first night we were there, my husband went down to reception and asked for a second towel for me and they gave it to him without any problems. On day two, I went down to reception and asked for a second towel but was told that we are only allowed one towel per person. When I questioned why they had given one to my husband the day before, they said I could pay for a second towel if I needed it. My husband went right back down and again, they gave him a second towel. I’m white and he’s Indian so we figure either they don’t like/trust white people or they’re trying to scam us for money.

Not at all what i looks like!

The positive is the location! It is very close to the beach and at the same time close to shopping and restaurants.
But, there is no breakfast served at hotel (no restaurant), the sheet and towels looked dirty, the room looks old, tap broken in the room, lobby the smallest I have seen, etc.
A lot of running in the corridor and not very sound proof.
This is 1,5 star hotel as most.
No, I would pick another place next time.

I was given a room which far away from the main hotel, have to walk across the road to the receptionist. Room with no towels and tv remote control. Resort Photos show on Expedia were not true .Resort was rundown and need proper maintenance, renovation.
Staffs were not helpful. Hotel lobby was very hot without air condition.,very bad impression during check in time.
Immediately i checked out from the hotel and rebooked
Nadias hotel which is much more better than malibest.
Can Expedia refund back the money to me ?

Gd location but not for fussy light sleepers

Travelled with my husband, toddler and helper for 3 nights. Truth to be told, the room is very much acceptable as there won’t be any other decent resorts/ hotels with 2 queen size beds. I would prefer carpet floors for resorts near the sea as I personally don’t like the stickiness feeling on the flooring. Toilets, it has a bidet spray but the rain shower affixed to the ceiling made bathing restricted with a toddler. All in all, Malibest Resort fits my basic requirement. The resort is just a stone’s throw away from Cenang Beach. Very convenient especially when u have very young and active kids. Swimming pool facility was very much not applicable as the depth was very unsuitable for our toddler son. Eateries and shopping street is just within walking distance. Cenang mall is just 5-10 mins walk, the duty free zone is prolly another 2 mins walk. U can just go to any of the “travel booths” along the road to rent a car instead. We got a very good deal at RM80 for a 24-hour rental. We went to the Langkawi cable car which is at Oriental Village, Eagle Square and the Gamat oil factory. This resort is highly NOT RECOMMENDED for light sleepers. Aircon noise, noises from other guests in the resort. I think the resort managament can intervene when such situation happens. Sadly the indecent noise in the wee hours of the morning went on till about 3am.
