The hotel was very clean and spotless, off road parking was available which was very important for our group. The place itself is run/managed by nice people who made us feel very welcome, they were quite a cheerful bunch and all seemed happy to to working there which makes for a great atmosphere. The restaurant also served great food. We were on a motorcycle tour and unfortunately it poured with rain all the time do restricted our movement, staying at such a good hotel made all the difference.

This hotel was a good central location, across the roundabout from the train station/bus stop. Good breakfast, comfy bed. Good pool area along with sun lounges by the river. You have to call down to reception before you want to use the sauna so they can turn it on and get it warm FYI. I realized the next day the pool has jets! The buttons are black buttons under the water on the pool walls. They make the small pool great, especially if you have pool to yourself. Also we loved that hotel guests could use the gym across the road, you just need to leave a deposit for the gym card that you get back. Also with the Berchtesgaden guest card you can use all public transport free of charge in area and get other attraction discounts. We made definite use of this, as even though we had a rental car, we pretty much left it in hotel car park for the whole time as parking is an issue everywhere you go in area and we used the busses/ trains
Couple of downsides, its central location means you hear all traffic, especially if you like to sleep with the balcony door open for fresh air, including the boy racers at night and emergency vehicles, along with cows with bells walking through town at 5:30am Mon morning! Also you do smell cigarettes from other guests smoking on their balcony. Suggest getting a room on the other side of building, non river view. Yes you will miss out on seeing the river at all times in room, but it would probably be quieter for sleeping!

Being right on the water we enjoyed the view from our room. Everything was very clean and the bed was comfortable. We didn’t realize they had a pool which we used several times. They even supplied robes! Great location walking distance from the train and bus station. Would stay here again.

Very nice place. Newly renovated bathroom. Helpful staff. Breakfast was excellent. The common areas are well done. We enjoyed sitting there, reading next to the fireplace. We also liked the location - Next to a river and grocery stores to get snacks around the corner.

We stayed in the apartment next to the hotel. Apartment was a bit dated, but was clean and of good size. However, it was located on the third floor with very narrow stairs, making it difficult to move our suitcases up and down. Otherwise, breakfast was very good and the swimming pool was very refreshing. Location was good, just short walk to the bus terminal.

Very friendly and funny check in, very nice room and comfortable beds. Our shower was in good shape, although small (room 055). It is wand type shower and the hose on the wand was positioned so that it would point only at one of the walls. We could not place the wand so that it would flow towards the center of the shower. Temperature was easy to control with great water pressure and volume.
The bathroom light is only activated by motion- there is no on/off switch. The result is when we used the bathroom during the night, it was like walking into a light bulb - very bright. And it remains on for a while when you go back to bed.
The restaurant service and food were great.
We would stay there again.

This hotel is a very easy 5 minute walk from the train station. I think we were the only Americans staying there which is always a bonus in my mind. It was a national holiday when we stayed so there were lots of Germans staying there. It would have been nice to have a room overlooking the river instead of the parking lot and road which could be a bit noisy. The room was very simple but adequate. There were robes, slippers and towels available in the room for use in the pool area. The bathroom was very small with a tiny shower. I couldn't open the door all the way because it hit the heated towel rack.
I really liked the hotel staff...very friendly.
I enjoyed the pool and sauna in the wellness area after a long rainy day hiking.

I was traveling with my husband, daughter and college bond granddaughter…we all agreed this was our favorite hotel on our trip. Our balcony faced the river and the mountains. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Breakfast had plenty selections. Everyone enjoyed their dinner in the restaurant the night we arrived. I would definitely recommend this hotel and look forward to staying again.

For the price. Meh. Hotel feels dated, not what I would expect for the price. View from our room was terrible. Incredibly disappointed. We were looking forward to this stay but honestly it wasn’t worth the money. Again, this was not a budget price, we paid lots of money and felt like we was staying at at motel in terms of service/attention. Hotel was clean. The « king » bed is two twin beds put together.

Staff was no help, not very welcoming or warm. Only recommendation for restaurant was their own hotel restaurant. No help outside of this.

This property was perfect for my family’s stay in Berchtesgaden . The staff was friendly, the restaurant has great menu options and delicious meals, the breakfast was included and the room was very clean and the bathroom was modern and updated. The beds were also very comfortable and we slept well! The pool area was also very clean, and the in-door water temperature was comfortable and our kids very much enjoyed splashing in the pool. Unfortunately it rained our entire time here so I can’t speak to the views of the mountains from the hotel, but we did take a boat trip on Lake Königssee which was beautiful despite the rain. Highly recommend this hotel and the surrounding areas, and my family hopes to visit again in the summertime.

The location is good, right on river bank. The breakfast is nice with pretty view of the river and old town. The staffs are very helpful. My husband forgot his 2 jackets in the wodrob. We found out afterwards and called the property. Front desk staff Ludwig found the jackets and sent them to our hotel in Frankfurt. The only issue we had is our room on top floor, which is the attic. Half of the room is under slanted roof and very low. We had to bend our body to walk around the room. Both me and my husband hitted the roof on heads, and really hurt for days. In my opinion, these room is onky suitable for one person, not two.

A great choice for my short stay in Berchesgarten. Close to railway station which was very convenient for me. A short walk into the main area of town which has plenty of dining options. A snow storm prevented us from staying at the hotel. We sent an email to the hotel stating we we we stranded in Frankfurt and requested to cancel our stay. They stated we were stuck and must pay. Take our travel insurance if you book here.

Many things to like.

There are many things to like. My single room was larger than at some other German hotels. I liked the idea of a \"living room\" in the hotel with a coffee machine for the evenings. Very convenient for the railway station, bus station and grocery stores. Left luggage is in a locked cupboard which is a better arrangement than some hotels.

The things I didn't like were that the in-room safe was not large enough for a laptop. Also there is no a/c, no in-room kettle or in-room coffee maker.

I'd recommend that the parking issue be addresses sooner than later. It be nice to give the hotel an excellent rating, but the parking issue and the staff's \"meh\" attitude about it is discouraging. We had parking when we arrived, however we arrived early and the staff did not offer early check in. So, we went to see some sites. On return, we had to double park and leave the keys at the desk.

Perfection with hospitality

It was such a refreshing pleasure to stay at this super clean and beautiful place. The staff was mdl. attentive, courteous and friendly. They went beyond helpful and kind. Have never ever encountered that. Wird’s can’t convey how they went beyond to help us. We came eurh an injured person and they immediately called their friend, a doctor to come and evaluate her injuries and went out if their way to accommodate us in every way. Note the injuries were not experienced here rather happened in Munich on our way here.
I can’t thank them enough so warm and compassionate!!!
Recommend the facility it’s gorgeous and relaxing

We loved this hotel and spent three nights here with our grandsons. We had a spacious apartment with a balcony, two bedrooms and kitchen. We rarely used the kitchen due to the amazing breakfast offered by the hotel. Kids loved the indoor swimming pool. And I forgot to mention the gorgeous views we had from our balcony. Perfect stay.

I stayed in Room 003. It was a small cramped space that could barely fit our luggage. It was the size of a closet. The restroom was so small that the shower door couldn’t open fully because it hit the sink…and the toilet was right against the sink on the other side.
There was no air conditioning anywhere in the property. Our room was so hot, humid and tiny that it was a miserable experience. Our three day stay there put everyone in a foul mood and ruined our whole three week trip. Don’t make that mistake.

The hotel was very well positioned for quick trips into the beautiful surrounds. The staff were very friendly and went above and beyond when my lovely wife twisted her ankle somewhat, bringing ice packs to us as required. The bathroom was a little small, but clean and fully functional (this is the only \"negative\" I can think of!).

The river was flooding and they had to close the pool area, but that wasn’t really a problem. The room was much smaller than pictures described, and one had to wedge themselves onto the toilet or shower, but the bed was very nice. They undersold the breakfast. It was amazing! Don’t skip it.

Great location, great room with a balcony and most of the staff was so wonderful. The reception staff was so kind and helpful. I had a misunderstanding with the breakfast staff. I made a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and was going to take it with me. It's certainly not what is said but how it is said. If I was kindly informed, that food may not leave the breakfast area or it had to be paid for, I would have understood and \"followed the rules.\" But a young man said \"you must pay!\" I said ok, I'm sorry, I will leave it. Then a female employee said NO you must take it or pay for it. So, I said ok, I will stay and eat it.
I ate a few bites and left. Such an unfortunate ending to my otherwise wonderful stay.

Charming property with helpful staff

The property has very nice amenities and is in an excellent location with close walking distance to many restaurants and a short drive to tourist sites. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating! Our room was very spacious and clean (although it was a bit outdated), and had a beautiful view overlooking the river. WiFi worked really well, and they have power adapters/converters you can borrow at the front desk. Breakfast was great, ample parking was available, & the pool was really nice!

Horrible Reception Experience, She should be fired

The reception experience when we arrived was horrible. The young lady was very short with us, and not friendly. We were booked in the apartments and had difficulty getting into the building and room. We could find the room and the key was not working properly. I went back to ask for assistance and she was very condescending and rude with her response. I explained the situation a 2nd time, and her response was worse. There was never any offer for someone to assist us in anyway.

In the morning we had a totally different experience. Breakfast was fabulous and the woman who checked us out was extremely hospitable. It's a lovely hotel in a great location.

They should be more aware of the people that employ who are greeting guests as she gave us an extremely poor first impression.

Good location to Königssee -6 minute drive ...and like a 15 minute walk up hill to town . It’s a good scenic walk . No air conditioning in hotel so wouldnt recommend in summer . Our trip was week of September 16th and it was still warm . Can’t check in after 800 pm .

Restaurant on property was good to excellent. Breakfast was avg from experience in Europe, I thought it was missing fresh berries. But dinner at the restaurant was excellent and a great value.

We visited on probably on some of the hottest days of the year, so AC would have been nice. It does cool off in the evening but as a light sleeper the traffic noise is load if the windows are opened. Otherwise traffic noise is low.

We booked a 2 night stay with 2 rooms as a family with 2 teenagers. Overall, very comfortable and pleasant stay. The rooms are clean and tidy, the shower rooms are very nice, clean with shower fittings that are high standard and well thought use of space. Staff are responsive and the restaurant is very good. The staff were most helpful. Used the pool area with its outside relaxing area which was lovely and right by the river. Has a small sauna and solerium. Reception issue tourist cards a real bonus, which gives free travel on local buses and to attractions, really worthwhile. The only disappointment was not having the rooms next to each other or atleast in same level (it is a big hotel) and room 327 had limited head room as it is in the eaves so needed to be very mindful when moving around the room. Has a little balcony. That said, great for short family stay and certainly recommend and would rebook on visiting Berchtesgadener.
