The front desk lady receptionist was very friendly and helpful to offer to hold our luggage until check-in at 3 pm. The hotel is unassuming to find out that the dinner was great and our waiter, Lucas was very friendly and personable. Most people were speaking Austrian and/or German but communication with Lucas was transparent because he spoke English so well. Breakfast was very good and clean with very prompt service. The only thing I would ask to improve is to have portable air conditioning units installed. The one in the room was a stand up vertical fan. I would come back and recommend others to this hotel!

My family and I had a wonderful stay. The hotel offers free parking, a spacious room and a surprisingly good breakfast (included in our stay). I was driving but noticed that there is a bus stop right around the corner from where you can get to the Old Town in a few minutes. Good value for money.

This is a beautiful mountain location. It was very easy to get the bus into Salzburg from the bus terminal beside the hotel. The restaurant food was excellent. The room was comfortable (loved the balcony with view of the mountains) and the staff friendly and helpful.

We chose this hotel because it is very conveniently located right outside Saltzberg with a beautiful view. The hotel is wonderful, has a very nice restaurant, and helpful friendly staff. It also has free parking and a very convenient drive to Hallstatt (~72km) or Berchtesgaden (18 km). The hotel is also the end of the line bus stop (5 or 25) for quick low-cost access to downtown Saltzberg. We would highly recommend.

Came for one night, clean, welcoming, family run hotel. Right next to Untersberg. The room was quiet and comfortable. It had a huge balcony. Amenities were standard but nice. The included breakfast in their restaurant was plentiful with a great variety of food. Will absolutely make this place our destination when we visit Salzburg as it’s only about 5 miles out of the city.

Please don’t stay at this hotel. While this seemed like a nice hotel. We had a horrible experience and they would not compensate us for it. It’s an older hotel with no accessibility. My father fell down the entryway stairs that had no railing or warning of steps as you walk out. He had multiple broken bones and stitches, and they refused to compensate us. Do not consider staying at this hotel.

This is such a pristine and awesome property and location. Located about 25 minutes from Salzburg Main station, the buses #5 and #25 go directly to this hotel. Right in front of the hotel. The property is located at the foothills of the Mountains and very scenic beauty around it. Just came home from a 3 night stay here. Hotel exceeded our expectations, rooms are alot bigger than they look online and we had a huge balcony overlooking the mountains. Hotel is ideally placed for both Salzburg and trips across the border to attractions nearby in Germany. The village had a festival during our stay which was fantastic. Breakfast was a huge range of cooked and continental choices. Staff were super friendly, helped us with local queries, and gave us sweets on check in and local chocolate on check out. The Old hotel built in the 1700’s was quirky, comfortable, clean and authentic. It was in an excellent location, close to the centre of town, with many restaurants and shops and a short walk to the train station. The room could accommodate a family of 4 at a reasonable price. The Melk Abbey walls were very close to the hotel. Melk is an ideal place to visit between Salzburg and Vienna. A very relaxed pace and not too many tourists. There are no elevators in the building.

First, Salzburg is a small city, so this hotel is not in the city center but still close to it. The location was really easy with a free parking for cars, so no trouble with this issue at all. The hotel itself is clean and the rooms are spacious but in desperate need for refurbishment. The room colours and decoration is really outdated and the beds were really bad. They made noises all night when someone moved or turned on them, so we really couldn't sleep well. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast buffet was OK.

High quality finish and service to this hotel which is in a small hamlet (St Leonards) with 4 other hotels. So the local area is does not offer much, but is beautifully located at the foot of the Untersberg mountain. We had a car so were looking for a tranquil good quality hotel with 5-10km drive to Salzberg. HOT TIP - buy a hop on hop off bus ticket for a couple of days then drive to one of the free or cheap places to park around the bus route each morning and catch your the bus into town.

We absolutely loved this hotel!!! It was very nice, big. Loved the balcony and views. It's not too far from Salzburg or Hellbrunn. The drive was actually really pretty so we didn't mind that it was a little ways out of town and we wanted to visit Berchtesgaden so this was perfectly in between places. The breakfast was amazing. Very nice. Definitely recommend.

Nice Hotel for an American Family
The hotel is nice. We had a family of 4, and the room was huge, with a separate space for the kids. There was a partial wall separating the two spaces. Our room had a view of the alps, and it was very nice. The staff all spoke great English and were very kind and helpful. The bus station is in the parking lot behind the hotel, and it was easy and affordable to ride it into Salzburg (about 2.5 Euros each way I think). Breakfast was a typical Bavarian Breakfast. As American's, it wasn't our preference for breakfast selections, but we were able to find plenty to eat.

Very Satisfied
We chose the Hotel based upon previous reviews and good rates, and were not disappointed. Location on edge of small quiet village a few miles south of Salzburg is ideal. Free Parking for about 12 cars in front of Hotel, but also much larger car park behind. This is also the parking area for the Cable car lift up to the mountain behind, which is well worth a visit. Also bus stop is right behind hotel which will take you right into the city, where you can hop onto the city or sound of music tour. (its the same bus, you just choose which audio channel you want to listen to). Room was very clear and good quality furniture, bathroom also excellent. Room safe provided, but no tea & coffee in room. Restaurant was fine, and has outside eating area if you want. Breakfast buffet was very good, plenty of choice. We only stayed one night but owners let us leave our car parked there the whole day we left whilst we were in the city and up the mountain. Would definitely stay again and happy to recommend. ENJOY !!

Convenient but away from the hustle and bustle.
After a 6 hour drive from west Germany, it was nice to arrive to a courteous staff. English was not a problem. This hotel is a nice get away from the hustle and bustle of Saltzburg and is located right below the mountain. Rooms are clean and well tended. They have very generous bathrooms and large balconies on the mountain-side. The rates are reasonable. There's no air conditioning but it's June and only 70 F so windows were fine. The bus runs from 5-11 so you hear that out your window if it's open. The bus is easy to ride and included in the Saltzburg ticket. My only complaint, and it is a small one, is that the beds area bit hard; but don't let that overshadow the stay. Minibar, free in-room internet, and free breakfast buffet were definite perks! Easy to get to off the Freeway (make sure to stop before crossing the border and get a Viniette pass!!!!) Would recommend this hotel to anyone!

With a convenient bus trip to town from the back of the hotel, and such gorgeous surrounding, why stay anywhere else. fantastic rooms.

The hotel in general is nice and comfortable: the only problem is the location. It’s beautiful, but very noisy being practically next to the parking lot for the cable car to the famous Untersberg mountain and also very close to the road.
