Absolutely beautiful hotel with great staff, special mention to Corinne, Stefan & Eftahlia, they were super friendly helpful efficient just outstanding, due to them, I extended stay to 13 nights. The location of hotel just perfect with views of mountains & close to bus to take you into heart of Salzburg, also the cook was amazing too. Highly recommend, will definitely be back. Thanks everyone for making my 55th birthday so special & relaxing! ❤️❤️

Nice, quiet place on the outskirts of Salzburg!

Located on the outskirts of Salzburg, this hotel is actually, ideally located! It only took us about 30 minutes to drive to Berchtesgaden, Germany and another 10 to drive up to the Kehlsteinhaus starting point, 6 minutes to drive to Schloss Hellbrunn, and 40 minutes to walk (the scenic route) into town (to Festung Hohensalzburg). There is a bus stop, about 2 blocks away, that will take you directly into Salzburg, as well. We hit 6 countries in 3 weeks and this inn was the closest, by far, to what we are used to in America. The room was extremely spacious, as was the bathroom. Inside the hotel is a small bar and restaurant which serve up delicious meals and drinks. Everyone here was very friendly and were able to give excellent advice on where to go and what to do. We had a car, and there was free parking on the street in front of the hotel; we never had a problem getting a spot. I would definitely stay here again!

The staff was warm and welcoming. The room was huge with large well equipped bathroom, separate sitting area and bed. Super clean. The hotel restaurant offered both indoor and outdoor dining and the food was excellent. Close to Salzburg center without the crowds. All in a more traditional setting than your ubiquitous chains. Highly recommend.

Liked having the free parking on the property which was convenient with a rental car.

DECENT ROOM-BROKEN AIR CONDITIONING IN SUMMER.LOUD

This place is slightly far from the city center if you are using a public transport. The room was good but the Air Conditioning was broken. We stayed here during Summer and it was a warm day and
NO-AC made it a discomforting stay. There is bar downstairs where folks sit and booze and yet times it becomes LOUD with late night hours. There is huge cemetery facing this hotel.
The nearby areas shutdown quite early in evening even in summer so the nearby area becomes slight scarce of human presence around late evenings.

Staying here...GOOD CHOICE

Thiz hotel is in quiet area of Salzburg and features a popular restruant and bar as well as free wifi. Breakfast included in price, staff really friendly and helpful...major feature is free car parking.The food is great..rooms clean and wel appointed overall I have no hesitation in saying many hotels in many parts of the world would charge 2 or 3 times the price for facilities that do NOT match up. I will be visiting Salzburg again and without doubt I will be staying there again.

Decent hotel for the price and location

We thought this hotel was pretty decent when you take into consideration the price and location. A lot of Salzburg hotels are a crazy price and this was a very decent standard for just over a hundred pounds a night inc breakfast.
The room was spacious enough and very clean. The bed (although it states a queen double on the website) was two singles connected together, however we've found this to be the norm in this part of Europe.
The room was very warm but there was a portable air con unit which we definitely needed. Not sure if all the rooms have this so would be worth asking when booking. We also discovered the following day that the walls were very thin as could hear people talking in the next room very clearly, so again, the air con unit was useful to drown this out overnight.
The breakfast area is small but this wasn't an issue as there weren't many guests present. The choice, in our opinion was ample. Not sure what other reviews expect from a continental buffet? There was plenty of fresh bread, cereals, cheeses, meats and other things which were totally sufficient to fill you up. My husband had the hot option of scrambled eggs which were also fine.
The location is good. There is a bus stop about 3 min walk from the hotel with a choice of buses that take you right into Salzburg. The hotel can sell you a 24hr pass which was 4Euros, bargain.
Overall I would say this hotel does what it says on the tin. Its not luxurious but was clean, comfy and in a very location for us.

We stayed for one night on our road trip from London to Croatia. The hotel was easy to find and has free parking outside. It's a nice an quite location right next to a beautiful historic cemetery, which I recommend visiting in the morning. You also get a stunning mountain view from the windows.
The check in was quick and straight forward. The rooms are a bit dated, but comfortable and spacious. The built in aircon was broken so there was a massive mobile air con unit in the room which worked well. It, however, was not on when we arrived, and there was a bit of an unpleasant stale smell in the room.
We decided to have breakfast before heading out and it was definitely the right decision - it was delicious! the breakfast area is deceivingly small, but that's only because the many dishes on offer as presented in small dishes, which get topped up constantly. The choice of food is very good, the only hot cooked food are eggs cooked to your reference. There is also bubbly and juice if you fancy a mimosa in the morning :)
The hotel is dog friendly.

Shower was ridiculous (overhead shower leaked and cubicle was too small)
Lighting in bathroom was poor
Cleaning staff interrupted our lie-in even with the 'do not disturb' light on
Staff called twice and woke us up to ask if we were having breakfast (we didn't book one)
Staff demanded we pay to check out after 11am when the welcome book clearly stated that we can check out after 12pm without paying.
Room was dark and carpet was stained in patches everywhere!

Room was noisy and hot. AC unit did not work. There is nobody in the lobby (no hotel personel whatsoever) between 11 pm and 6 am so there was nobody that cpuld help us change our room.

One room was large, the second decent but the third was rather small, especially when compared with other two. A hot water kettle would have made our comfort even better. The hotel was clean but much farther away from the Old Town than advertised. About 2.7 km. Long walk since infrequent buses pass. The food is excellent however. The best roasted liver, apples, and onions ever. The red deer ragout was also excellent.

This is a pretty basic hotel (rooms) but a good value -- clean and the staff was excellent during my stay. Very nice breakfast, and they'll even make eggs to order. Staff was very good: The Salzburg marathon was going on, practically shutting down the city, as I left. A taxi headed my way could not get to the hotel -- so a staff person jumped in and took me in his personal car through all of the backroads that helped me make it on time and make my flight. That was super amazing and I thank them for this incredible effort!

Food in the restaurant is decent -- but this is not a place for foodies ( very traditional food). Howver, I did have the most amazing dessert--the berry panna cotta has me thinking that I must become a panna cotta expert -- so delicious.

Used the hotel while on business so its location was important. Access was easy and the room rate was decent. My only quibble was that I had obviously git a room above the kitchen so it was very warm. However given that it is winter that was also pretty welcome at times.

We stayed for three days and NEVER had our room cleaned. We cleaned up ourselves and had to call for clean towels. Christmas Day they called us to now inform us no one was there to clean the room (again) and asked if we wanted towels. You could NEVER eat at the hotel restaurant because they put reserved signs on every table yet each time we passed by the restaurant was empty. Odd. Apparently understaffed as the restaurant staff ( we saw them) was the same person as check in and same one that called about towels. Cute hotel just needs a better staff

We loved that fact that the hotel was out of the city & nice& quiet. The view from our room of the mountains was beautiful. Only drawback, the weather was hot, the room was hot & the portable air-con was noisy & not too effective..BUT we did have it to use & were appreciative of it. In cooler weather it would be perfect. Really enjoyed our stay & would recommend the hotel to our friends.

Great place, if you know this area a little bit you'll know you can walk to the \"Leopoldskron Castle\" in 5 min. Even the cemetery next door is a great place to visit! Not to mention the beer garden attached to the hotel. Locals hang out there too.

Horrible experience and management

This hotel booked us in the same room as someone else and refused to refund our money - stay away from this hotel!

Here's the story...we had arranged a late check-in with the hotel for them to leave our key card for us. When we used our key card to open our room at 1am, we saw an open suitcase in the room. Unsure what was happening we said \"Hello?\" Suddenly, a person came charging at us, scared and angry. We apologized profusely and closed the door.

We went back down to the front desk but it was unmanned and despite searching we could find no emergency number. It took us an hour, but we finally found another hotel that was open at that time and booked another room.

The next day, we called the hotel and they apologized. They said one of their colleagues made a mistake, and not to worry - they would not charge us anything and I could tell hotels.com to contact them.

A few days later, I contacted hotels.com for a refund. They contacted the hotel and told me that the hotel was not refunding my money. Amazed, I contacted hotels.com again and escalated my request. Once again, hotels.com informed me that they had contacted hotel management, and they were not willing to refund my payment.

This was a horrible experience overall, and the lack of a refund makes a bad experience even worse. I urge you to stay away from this hotel!

OK Hotel, Wouldn't Return

The very first thing we experienced is that the hotel is across the street from a cemetery. The second thing we experienced was walking into the hotel with a man smoking at a table near the reception desk. We arrived at our room to find the door propped open and some of the towels missing. (I'm assuming they assigned us a room that the cleaning crew hadn't quite finished setting up yet.) It was a rather small room, but still had a desk, sitting area and bed. The A/C didn't work, so we had to open the windows for cool air, which let the bugs in. I'm guessing others did the same, because there were bug splats on the walls. The two positives of the hotel were the huge rain-style shower and the proximity to the Red Bull Hanger and the Sound of Music palace. It was about a 15 - 20 minute drive into the city center. It is such a charming city and I wished the hotel had similar charm. We won't be returning.

The hotel was close to the city center. Overall it was comfortable. There was a bus stop outside the hotel which takes you straight into the city center. Also had free parking. Hotel is near a very beautiful cemetery which is taken care of like a botanical garden.

Needed a place to stay on the way to Vienna. Did the trick. Had nice food and it was reasonably quiet. Rooms are nicely outfitted and suitable for a one or two night stay. Within walking distance to downtown.

A fine little hotel with charm, our room even had an air conditioner, one of the only rooms on our European trip to do so. The restaurant is excellent, which means that after you get to the hotel late, you don't need to worry about going out to look for place to eat, there is a great place right on site. The only conceivable negative that could be mentioned is the location; there is no tram that serves the hotel, only a bus line, the \"5\". The first time the bus drops you off, it is a little frightening, it seems as if you are in a \"no man's land\", because the hotel is not in sight. Rest assured, the hotel is there, but it is behind an office building. The hotel could do a better job of providing directions, and hopefully they will read this review and do that.

A wonderful stay.

A wonderful stay. The staff were brilliantly helpful and also very welcoming. We had free use of the hotel bikes allowing us to enjoy several bike rides through the Austrian countryside. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. There is also a bus stop about 70m away from the hotel which takes you straight into town.

This was an excellent hotel outside of the hustle and bustle for quiet sleeps but close enough by public transit to the city centre. The staff were warm and friendly and spoke English. The meals in the restaurant were exceptional. We really enjoyed our stay.

The staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms spacious and clean, even if the hotel lacks character and the dining area could be modernised. The district, though pretty, was a little bit dead and far from the town centre (though there is a good bus service and tickets are sold at reception). For the price, it's not bad, but not great (breakfast is good, though not included: I was charged an extra 12 euros) - I certainly wouldn't call it a 4 star hotel. More like a 3 star. It would need significantly to be modernised and updated to merit 4 stars. But it was a pleasant enough stay, given that all the hotels in the centre were fully booked.

Hotel not so close to Salzbourg!

We only stayed one night and had two rooms we are 5. Bathrooms are a little old and not so spotless as expected (they are clean). We find the carpet and the sofa old or dirty (not sure). Breakfast was very good and people were nice, but this hotel is next to a cementary, and in the surrounding of Salzbourg. We were a bit disappointed but it was only for one night so OK.

Nice hotel in Salzburg

Stayed there for 2 nights. It is on a quite street, easy to find. There is a great pizzeria 1Km from the hotel.
The staff seemed too busy so it took a while for someone to attend us.

The hotel is quite good but try to avoid 2nd floor rooms in the attic space. The roof slope leaves limited headroom and the room is extremely hot in Summer weather.

Nice and comfy hotel

On arrival we were nicely greeted by hotel staff. Our room was very spacious, and comfortable, although our view from the window was of a cemetery but wasn't at all a problem . The room was well heated as temperatures outside were low during our visit. We requested an extra pillow for our beds and they were brought up to our room almost immediately . The restaurant was also lovely and welcomes customers who are not staying in the hotel which I thought was quite nice. The hotel is located just outside of the city but there are two bus stops very close by and a taxi rank to take us into the city which only took ten minutes max! The city is beautiful. We went to Salzburg for the sound of music tour which was great as a lot of the filming locations was very close by- some were even walkable !

Good hotel with spacious parking. In particular, the attached restaurant is quite reasonable for any meal (although breakfast is unfortunately not included in price). Location is not particularly great, about 20 minute walk to Schloss Leopoldskron and 30 minutes to the castle and rest of old town Salzburg. One complaint is that the wifi, despite being very fast (10+mbps), blocks all ports outside of http, so no luck using anything besides the web browser :/

Quiet hotel near the airport

We stayed here for just one night to be near to the airport for 10am flight. The room was fine, much quieter than I had anticipated. We had a bath with shower over, the water was really hot and the room temperature was controllable. We had dinner here and struggled a bit with the menu as our German is terrible and the English translations were not great. However, we had a very helpful waiter dressed in lederhosen who explained the dishes, and our meal was excellent. We were first down for breakfast which starts at 7am. Great choice of food on the buffet, well presented and delicious, with cooked options also available.The lady on reception organised a taxi to the airport which arrived very promptly. All in all a trouble free and relaxing experience.

Amazing experience

Fully renovated first class quality. Everything was brand new and updated to the latest standard. Rooms were super clean and generous and the bathroom quality was easily at 5 star level. In general this hotel easily beat anything I ever had in a US four star hotel - and most 5 stars. Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Breakfast layout is amazing - you can basically use it for brunch (open until 10:30 helps too, all you can eat) and have a fantastic meal - which also really helps keeps the place at an very reasonable price level. The restaurant has an excellent Austrian menu and the quality of the food is superb / 100% authentic Austrian. The price /value relationship is unbeatable.

Nice, but to far from the center of the city.

-The hotel is nice,clean and the staff polite.
-Two things, one the hotel is 40-45 minutes strong walk from the center of the city ( not 10,15 or 25 minutes) or 10 minutes with the trolley ( if you buy tickets from the driver 2.50 euros per trip), second if you do not have a problem the hotel is located visa-vi from a cemetery therefore pretty quiet :) .
-Buy the breakfast is only 10 euro and the food is good.

Nice hotel outside inner city.

The staff was friendly, the accommodations a solid 4 star, the price reasonable, free Wi-Fi, and adequate free parking. It was a good launching point for our excursions. If you are looking for a clean, comfortable, and safe place to rest after long days of touring then it is perfect.

Awesome hotel, definitely will stay there next yr

Hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. Hotel room was great and bus stop was extremely close. Easy to get around the center. The restaurant is great. The food is really good and very reasonably priced. Will definitely stay there again, next year.

Terrible staff and smoke filled lobby

We stayed there because of overall good reviews but were very disappointed. First its too far from the city center and very hard to get to. Second the staff doubles as waiters in the restaurant and the hotel is seriously short on staff. Third, some of the staff is very courteous but the manager was overworked and somewhat rude. Finally, the main lobby reeks of smoke and is suffocating. On top of that the beds were extremely uncomfortable. Overall Salzburg was A+, the hotel was a place I would not recommend.

Very hot in summer - No Air Con

Cute old hotel that has been well kept. BUT, it can get very hot in summer and there is no AC. Windows open but have no screens so lots of flies & gnats get in... Beds are typical \"German\" hard mattress, pillows are extremely thin.

Truly had one of the worst nights sleep in a long time.. And that's too bad, because it is a very interesting place. Better suited for winter.

BTW- I stay in hotels all over the world about 150 nights a year, and yes I know many hotels do not have AC, so if you like to sweat and can sleep on a stone tablet... Then this place if for you!
