We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights last week. The overall experience was good. The rooms are clean and the bed is comfortable enough. The location is great - right on the main road. But there's also a flip side to this... If your room is street side, you may or may not get a good night sleep. It can get noisy. The other side of the building is likely to be more quiet :) They have a nice lounge area with a cozy and comfortable atmosphere.

If this is a 4-star \"boutique hotel,\" I'm disappointed. Everything was okay, but nothing special. The style of the rooms is rather mediocre. Our iron double bed was cramped, and the mattress was noisy. I can't recommend this hotel. There are certainly better, more affordable hotels in wonderful Salzburg.

There was nothing terribly unique about this property apart from that it is old and in a good location. What was terrible is that there was no fridge in the room for food and no electric kettle so we couldn’t even make a cup of tea. Such a great little hotel… we loved it - with two windows we could open to the wonderful street below to watch people walking by on their way to the Christmas markets…

Everything was clean and nice. It was great to have the lounge downstairs with really good coffee available all day all night and the honor bar.

The room was great, the bed was fantastically comfortable, the TV was great, the shower had nice hot water, and the people at the desk were so very nice.

It was fun to be right next to the church when the bells were ringing albeit sometimes a little early in the morning! But it was a fun way to wake up.

I would definitely stay here again… It is extremely convenient to all the fun things in Saltsburg and was a perfect choice for us!

It's an okay-ish hotel

The location of the hotel is good. Our biggest problem was the lack of food and drink service. There's no coffee in the room. They do have a coffee machine down in the lounge area and they sell sad looking croissants as breakfasts. We could go without breakfast but they need to put some of sort of coffee in the rooms. Some of the staff were not friendly, they walked by us several times without even looking at us. Overall stay was okay but wouldn't stay here again.

Great location. Very clean. I super love it. The only issue we had was checking in after hours. We had letters at the lobby stating that we had emails regarding a pin to access our room keys but we never received any so we have to walk to the sister hotel to get our room keys. We had our luggages at that time and it was raining and a little late in the evening already. So hopefully next time the hotel will make sure we get their emails especially when people are checking in after office hours. We are definitely coming back and recommending this to others

Perfectly located with lots of options for eating and drinking, short walk to bus stops and short walk to Altstadt, even the train station was walkable. Breakfast was light continental. It’s a great hotel, my single room was spacious and well kept. They do not offer breakfast, however the street you are on has plenty of options. No air conditioning but there is a portable fan/air con unit in the room. Close to everything, next to a church with a bell tower and a cemetery home to past dignitaries, worth a look.

Mozart missed a few notes at the Amadeus Hotel

Great location is biggest positive. The accommodations including the bedding, pillows, bed were old, uncomfortable and allergen prone. No AC. No blackout shades/drapes to account for busy street below. Front desk staff often missing or asked to do to many tasks like kitchen and front desk. No real breakfast. Croissants tasted as if from frozen package which rarely happens in amazing Europe/Austria. Charged for items we did not order on the \"honor bar\". All a bit odd and would give this place a pass next time. Salzburg was spectacular.

Lovely hotel in a great location

Lovely hotel in a fantastic location, close to everything! The staff are friendly, there’s free coffee and an honesty box for other drinks.

We had a lovely 2 bed apartment, however the rooms were really hot, even in early May when it’s cooler at nights, hate to think what it’s like in the summer! The walls on the rooms could do with a paint refresh but nothing that didn’t spoil our stay!

We received a fantastic welcome which matched the pre-arrive email contact we’d had. As it was my birthday they even sent a bottle of Prosecco to our room. Location wise this hotel was perfect. Our room was decorated to match the building and was very comfortable although we had an issue controlling the shower. We overcame that. Breakfast was your typical continental and plentiful. I would stay here again.

We stayed here for our trip to Salzburg and we were so impressed with this hotel. Nice and quiet, great for sleeping in on those late nights out. The staff was accommodating, especially when we were supposed to arrive later than the front would stay open. Very impressed with quick response and plans for our check-in. The room had a lot of Bavarian charm and a quaint little view! The location was ideal for our activities. If we ever plan to visit Salzburg again, this is the place to stay!

If you’re not sure on where to stay in Salzburg, pick this hotel! The hotel Amadeus was absolutely wonderful, and the service provided was amazing. Nicole at the front desk was there to help with anything at all that we needed. The rooms are beautiful and spacious, the location is very convenient (walking distance to everywhere), WiFi is strong, bathrooms are newly renovated and so nice, bed is very comfortable. We loved that there is free tea, coffee and hot chocolate all day, we used this every morning and evening. Also free cakes in the afternoon was lovely to pop back to the hotel for.
Seriously, if you can’t decide where to stay, just pick Hotel Amadeus and you will not regret it! One of the nicest hotels we have stayed at! Thanks Nicole!

We enjoyed the location across the river from the old town. A short walk to the old town and sights but a little less hectic. There were plenty of places to eat nearby. Hotel was clean and we had everything we needed. It is next to a church with a bell but it didn't chime through the night and it seems difficult to avoid bells in Salzburg.

Hotel was lovely, however no airconditioning and we had days of 31 degree heat. No fan provided in the room. Staff were lovely. Breakfast doesnt cater much for variations in diet, I am vegan, and it consists mostly of meat and cheeses, eggs and bacon. They did have soya milk so I could have cereal, and toast, and there is a bowl of fresh fruit available with various pieces of fruit. Location is handy, however very noisey over the weekend with restaurants nearby open late and people walking home at 3am talking loadly as they pass. I would stay off the main strip by a street or so next time. Nothing wrong with the hotel, just our preference didnt align.

Nice hotel, friendly reception.

Hotel is over 700 years old, or at least the structure is. As such we made certain allowances such as the lack of AC which is probably common.
The street the hotel sits on is mostly closed for traffic and lined with cafes and shopping and is walkable to Mozart’s birth house and a host of scenic photo ops so the location is spot on. Very very charming. All in all a very nice visit and accommodations were clean and memorable. I would return in the future.
