The only downside for the Hotel and area was no parking at the site and no warning in advance. We came after dark and had no idea how or where to park. Once we found a parking spot and walked to the hotel, they told us where we should park, m. So I went back to the car and drove it to the parking garage. Notice ahead of time would have been good

This is an amazing hotel. From the check in where you get personal attention from Ulrike and have all questions answered over a glass of sparking wine or tea, to the magnificent rooms, to the wonderful in house restaurant. The location in the old town could not be better. A few minutes walk to the cable car up to the fortress, to the many shops in the old town. Walking bridges are also not far away if you want to walk to the other side of town across the river. If you can book a room on the fourth floor at the top with access to your own roof top sitting area. This is one of the best small hotels I have ever stayed at. Ulrike organised us taxis when needed, and she also organised the ‘Sound of Music’ tour for us - which by the way was a lot of fun, even if you are not a super fan of the movie.

The location was fantastic for Christmas markets. The check in lady was extraordinarily friendly and kind. The only issues we experienced were the tiny doorways and tight everything. Watch your head, I nailed mine several times at 6’3” tall. The building is a trillion years old, so you can’t have it all. The door to our room 20 never shut automatically which provided unnecessary stress of “is my room locked?” The bed had a massive hill type lump in between where two people sleep, preventing any comfortable cuddling. Otherwise a good experience. Tiny elevator! Salzburg is a must visit.

The most wonderful part of staying at Hotel Goldgasse is the Manager Ulrieke. When I arrive, she greeted me by name, even if I saw her in the street she greeted me by name. She knows everything, is so helpful, I cannot say enough, good things about her.

The hotel itself is charming. I had a single room and found it a little disconcerting to have a double bed with a single duvet. But that's a very small complaint. Otherwise, this hotel is perfect.

This is one of the best hotels I have stayed in and it is Ulrich who made the visit so memorable. Right from the moment you walk in you feel welcomed and that your comfort matters. One night stay here visiting Salzburg. Well appointed, very clean and cozy hotel that is walking distance from main attractions in old town. Breakfast was amazing and even though we didn’t eat dinner at hotel, the restaurant looked beautiful and I heard the food is outstanding. The staff were so kind and helpful. They made check in seamless, we arrived by car and it’s not the easiest location to drive up to because of the pedestrian square. I believe it was Chris from reception, came right out to direct us and assist from the moment we arrived. Parking is available a short walk from the hotel. The room appeared freshly renovated with comfortable bed, crisp sheets, stocked fridge, coffee and tea, all complimentary. Breakfast was delicious and our server, Beatrice, was charming! Would highly recommend if you’re heading to Salzburg.

I stayed at this property with my mom for one night and our only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer! Seriously, it’s that amazing. The staff is SO welcoming, kind, friendly, accommodating, etc. We have stayed in quite a few hotels but we can both say this is a top experience for us. Excellent location, beautiful and spacious rooms, wonderful breakfast. I’d highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Salzburg and we hope to return ourselves one day!!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful hotel, and I couldn’t be happier with my experience. From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the elegant and thoughtfully designed decor. Every detail added to the luxurious ambiance, making it feel like a true retreat.

The rooms were spacious, and the bathrooms were impressively large – a rare find! They were well-appointed, and it was clear that comfort was a top priority. The amenities provided were top-notch, adding an extra layer of indulgence to my stay.

The customer service was truly outstanding. Every member of the staff went above and beyond, but I must give special thanks to Elrike, who was incredibly attentive and helpful. She made sure every aspect of my stay was perfect and added a personal touch that made me feel right at home.

A really lovely stay in a super comfortable boutique hotel. What made this exceptional for me was the kind, welcoming and professional team, with special mention and thanks to Ulrike. Absolutely amazing hotel and wonderful stay. My wife and I felt like home greeted by the most amazing host / owner. The breakfast at the hotel, magnificent!

I am well traveled and this boutique hotel stands out as compared to other places in Europe I’ve stayed.

1. Location, location, location! Right in the middle of old town, heart of Salzburg. Easy to find and accessible from Salzburg Hbf via bus (see Google maps).
2. The room is clean, comfortable, and I could not find a negative.
3. The host, she is a sweetheart that will make you feel home. The hotel staff also extended the same warm welcome that makes the stay even better.

My wife and I stayed 2 nights and were very satisfied with our stay. I thank the host for her hospitality and I would always stay here whenever I return to Salzburg.

My stay here was excellent! They let me check in very early, which was very much appreciated after an overnight journey. My room was very clean, decorated so uniquely with musical elements, and the free mini fridge and espresso bar was so appreciated! They definitely thought of everything to make me comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and so decadent, and the server was a delight...offering sparkling wine and as much coffee and food as I could eat. The location can not be beat - steps away from the Salzburger Dom and just a block from the city bus stops. I've been to Salzburg many times and this was by far the best accommodations I've had!

The Hotel Goldgasse is a fabulous small luxury property in the heart of the old town of Salzburg and was both a phenomenal stay and an exceptional property. We were greeted by the owner Ulricke with hot towels, a welcome bag, a big Austrian hug and did not ask for any type of payment at check in. She took our bags and we went to our premium view suite #40 on the top floor with its own private rooftop patio deck. Fabulous view of the Salzburg Castle and the location is perfect.

So easy to find. Great location! Big spacious room. The only down side, which we didn’t realize when we booked it , there was no AC. There was a nice dyson fan which definitely helped. It was hot outside and pretty warm in the room. We had the windows opened and with the fan running we actually slept fine. Other than that everything was great!

Ulrike Koller of guest relations changed our initial room (which had stairs to the bathroom) to a wonderful and comfortable room with no stairs. As we are an older couple, this really made our stay more comfortable. She assisted us with our luggage and even walked to the area where our driver had brought us to assist us with our luggage to the hotel. Our room had a refrigerator and welcome drinks. We received a welcome gift with soap, chocolate, drinks, and a welcome book. There were delightful magazines and books in the room to read. The tv and the WiFi were good and the shower perfect. The hotel is in an excellent location to explore Salzburg. It is on a lovely walking street with shops and near many options for food. The restaurant at the hotel had wonderful food with an inside and outside eating area. We ate there twice during our stay, and the food was delicious and the service excellent. We have never experienced better guest relations than we had with Ulrike Koller. She made us feel well taken care of very much at home at the Goldgasse. Thanks to all the staff!

Goldgasse sits in an old side alley straight off Residenzplatz. You can’t get any closer to everything outside your door. It’s a fantastic location and I was caught off guard by how central and convenient the location is!

The room I had on the 4th floor was beautiful. Done modern with direct access to the outside terrace.

Each and every one of the staff are personable and professional. They made me feel like I knew them already.

I would definitely come and stay again.

This review is late. we stayed at the Goldgasse in late September. We loved this quint friendly little hotel. It was down a lively cobblestone alley with many shops. The room size was adequate and it had a very comfortable bed. Excellent coffee choices in the room too. It was close to the river with great food choices on either side within walking distance. And almost above all, the staff were very warn, friendly, and helpful. We only had 2 nights in Salzburg so we plan to go back some day and will definitely stay at the Hotel Goldgasse again. It is one of our new all time favorite hotels!

Had a meal in the restaurant on the first night which was very good. this is a popular restaurant and you need to book a table. The room was very comfortable and well equipped but dose not have air con. the room was noisy on a morning with bin men and cleaners in the street below. there is no bar to speak of at this hotel

A very central location in the Old Town, the building is old and full of character, whilst the rooms are modern and well kitted out. Beds are very comfortable. Excellent breakfast though not cheap. Ask for a room at the back if you are a light sleeper. Other rooms overlook the narrow lane of shops and the hotel restaurant's outside seating.

Disappointed in this hotel. As usual I had read the reviews which were all good, perhaps we expected too much - on the internet the room looks spacious but we didn’t find it to be - quirky building & in keeping with that the floor in our room was not level - hell if I suffer from vertigo- neither of us slept felt like we were falling out of bed,
Lots of small issues bathroom products not being replaced always asking for milk.
Only used restaurant downstairs for coffee/ice cream which was excellent but it seemed very popular.
Position was great walk everywhere - cute walkway hotel is on but early deliveries 6am weekdays are annoying. Not an inexpensive hotel but not for us

My husband & I just returned from Austria & staying here at the Hotel Goldgasse was a highlight. It is located on a quaint street in the heart of Salzburg ~ so much is within footsteps of the front door. Around the corner is the famous coffeehouse, Cafe' Tomaselli & Mozart's birthplace. Our room overlooked the front of the hotel & was very quiet, room 22. It was decorated in a fun fashion w/lots of amenities ~ loose leaf teas for a great cup of tea, the coffee maker made delicious coffee, bathroom had great products, along w/robes & slippers in the closet. The staff was very friendly & helpful, Andrea checked us in & out ~ she took such good care of us. When we return to Salzburg, we will be staying here again. Thank you Hotel Goldgasse!

Amazing Hotel with Even Better Service!!

My wife and I stayed at Hotel Goldgasse for New Years and had an amazing time! The hotel had fantastic character and charm and the staff was world class! The room was great, the bed was comfortable and the design we loved. We highly recommend anyone visiting Salzburg consider Hotel Goldgasse, you will not be disappointed. Great choice

Location was excellent, right in centre of the old town by the Christmas markets. Hotel was very clean, bed comfortable, room was a modern great design. A little too warm in the room but easily resolved by opening the window. Staff very friendly and helpful.

This was a truly exceptional stay. The staff was outstanding. In a month of traveling, this was the best yet. Unparalleled. Location is perfect as well. If I make it back to Salzburg, this is the only place I want to stay in.

Nicely located trendy hotel.

Staff were friendly and helpful. We had a great welcome from reception. The room was large and comfortable. The bathroom was exquisite. The decor was quirky, which we loved. The complimentary mini bar for the first day was a nice touch. The interesting\"leaf\" teas and coffee maker were also a plus.

Located right in heart of old Salzburg.

Excellent service. Martin was fantastic and went above and beyond to make sure our needs were met. Hotel is very cozy and conveniently located to all the tourist spots. Well within walking distance. The restaurant has very good food as well. Try the Wiener schnitzel and the salzburger nockerl.
