The hotel is in very good location, The bed was very new and very comfortable. The bathroom was nice as it was renovated.

My room was one floor up from the ground floor ( 1st Floor)

the carpets in the hallways are very badly worn and torn.

The carpet in my room looked awful.
I did not feel comfortable walking in the room with bare feet or socks on as the carpet is so worn out and old.

All trim-work on the floors and doorways in very poor condition can could look so much better with a little bit of paint

The location was so good being able to just walk through the tunnel to the old district was great. The bed was comfortable the roadworks that were happening outside distracted quite a bit from a peaceful stay but again the location helped us have a great experience of Salzburg without having to invest in taxis or other transport

the room needs cleaning more . no regular cleaning done and supplies toilet paper towels not supplied regularly . the hotel location is excellent to the places planned to visit . the front reception male staff (indian ) was not helpful at all . he forgot to reserve our taxi when we left . we waited for one hour the taxi did not show up . called uber immediately to take us to the airport .

While the staff was friendly and helpful, there are a number of issues to be highlighted: the phone in the room was not working - so had to go to the reception for every request. The toilet was of a design I had never seen in my life. Worst, there was no coffee machine in the room. So when we grabbed a coffee from the kitchen, we charged 2.70 Euros each, which was reversed after we argued about it. Which hotel nowadays does not have a coffee machine in the room??

The hotel is located in a walkable area and was overall clean. However, the staff were not friendly or helpful, the room does not have any air system aside from a noisy stand up fan in the corner, and the walls are paper thin. The rooms are also very outdated and the beds are old and uncomfortable. If you stay here, don't expect to be able to ask for anything extra such as a pillow, as they will tell you no. Would recommend spending your money elsewhere as this hotel is not even cheap.

Check-in wasn't great. We were visiting from outside the country. The guy at the reception during check-in seemed rude and absolutely not helpful. The lady at the checkout seemed good and charming. Parking is very limited, only 8 spaces for the whole hotel. Breakfast was okay but few more options would have been great. Also they doesn't seem to have a ramp for easy transfer of suitcases to/from the car. Rooms seemed cramped but not sure if that's the norm in Salzburg

One of the primary reasons we chose this accommodation was the listing’s indication that a laundry facility was available on-site. However, upon arrival, we were informed by the front desk that no such facility exists, and the nearest coin laundry is two bus stops away. This was both inconvenient and frustrating, as access to laundry was an important factor in our booking decision.

In addition, we were not made aware of the extensive construction taking place around the property. The noise from the work, which began as early as 7:00 a.m., significantly impacted our ability to rest during our stay.

We also encountered maintenance issues within the room itself. The showerhead attachment in the bathroom was broken, and the sink appeared to be clogged, taking a long time to drain properly.

I believe these matters should have been clearly communicated in the listing. When we raised the laundry issue with the receptionist, we were told that the property’s own website does not list such a facility—suggesting a discrepancy between the Expedia listing and the property’s actual amenities.

I hope that steps can be taken to ensure that the information presented to potential guests is accurate and up-to-date. Accurate listings are essential in helping travelers make informed choices.

There are few to no amenities: no fridge, no laundry services, no ice machines, and we couldnt get an extra fan when we asked.

Cleaning services were poor. They left the sheet and floor uncleaned.

The place itself is more gloss than content.

The day staff were nice enough, but the night \"manager\" was as lazy as he was useless (think: Basil Fawlty without the humour). When asked we got either incorrect or inaccurate information

The breakfast (food, price, and staff) were quite good.

Its basically Fawlty Towers without the irony or comedic talent.

Great location as on a number of bus routes in and out of the city and one directly to the airport. The foyer was refurbished and looked nice, but the rest of the hotel was a little tired. But it did the job and was not an unpleasant space to be in. I would stay again.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. They provided suggestions and an area map for getting around. Since we were paying for 24 hours of parking, we checked out by 11am but got to stay parked for the full 24 hours while we toured the city some more. That was very helpful. We did find a space in their tiny parking lot. The room was small but adequate.

Check in was easy, room was clean and big. I was able to borrow an iron. You have to put in 10 Euros deposit for parking, but get it back when check-in out. Only \"issue\" was the cleaning lady knocked on our door before check out time (she didn't speak English), after the second time I put the don't disturb sign and she knocked again... Not sure what the issue was. Our room was right at the street. In the summer you have to have a window open and it's pretty noisy. Check out was easy. Overall great for the price and closeness to the city center.

Unhappy Reception Staff

Having travelled for the last 2 months I can honestly say we have never experienced such disinterested and unhelpful reception staff. While not rude they just had no people skills at all and clearly did not enjoy their job.
The hotel itself is in a perfect location to see the old town and while dated and in need of a new bed it suited our needs.
Just would just have been nice to be greeted with a smile and maybe even a reply to our greetings when we returned in the evenings.

Clean enough, but the rooms need a refurb especially the bathroom. Poor service from staff and charged for drinks we didn't have. You can't even get a coffee in the evening and although they have what looks like a vast array of spirit's we were told the were mostly empty bottles. The breakfast was poor value and the car park costs 15 euros per day with a 10 euro deposit for a plastic card to put on your dash. We have used this hotel twice before, but don't think we will be back

This hotel is at excellent location. Walking distance to downtown Salzburg (5 minutes), yet there is parking in the area. I don't think you can drive to hotels situated in the old town. I was little worried because of some negative reviews here, but the hotel was fine. If you are travelling in summer make sure your room is not facing west. It was very hot in our room in the afternoon and summer is only beginning. I don't think there is AC or fan there.

Really dirty, really old, really bad...
The only good thing about it is the location... But Salzburg is so small that it really isn't worth it....

Go find something somewhere else, cheaper and better! The 10 or 20 min extra walk to the center don't hurt that much.

(The staff tried to help and some of them are nice and friendly, but to compensate the poor state of the hotel is a mission impossible)

PS: Don't leave your baggage with them after/before check in or check out!!

They leave it in a room that is accessible to anyone walking the street, they could get your things and go in seconds... Nobody is there... Nothing is safe!

The one positive about this hotel is the location, few mintes from the center of town. All the rest is terrible, everything is the room was broken, damaged or dirty. Mold in the bathroom and fridge, beds that are really worn out. Parking is also a thing, when the hotel parking is full you are directed to the public parking across the street. No directions at all...it's a 4 story parking with numerous exits and looking for the exit I stimbled upon a lot off homeless people living here at night. Also problems with the bill upon check out, they let me pay for charges already payed and could not contact a manager because it was sunday ? Again only the location is fine but I would never stay here again.

This is not a 4 star hotel. This more closely resembles a motel. The pictures are very deceiving. It was incredibly dirty: carpet, walls, bathroom. I would except a 4 star hotel to have shampoo, conditioner and air con at the least - it did not. Sleeping was interesting due to the loud drunk screaming outside my window. In their defense, the staff was very nice and the area for breakfast was nice looking, but this is NOT a 4 star establishment, not even close. For $148 a night I would expect a lot more. I actually checked out early and went to the Holiday Inn across town - a thousand times better. The area is safe and very close to a lot of attractions however, I will give it that.

Ms. Puppy's customer service is very bad

This morning our family checked out the hotel, but we got bad / rude service by customer service named Ms. Papsy (wearing glasses, nose and earrings) We booked 3 nights for 2 rooms, 1 room for 2 people, 1 room for 3 people , we've paid online in full. When we checked out, we were billed for 1 extra bad 15 x 3 = 45, when we asked, he answered unfriendly as if everything had to be so, we asked for an explanation but answered with a shaking of his head as if we were children small which is easy to deceive. I have already paid for 3 people at a more expensive price, why do I have to pay extra bad again? I am very disappointed and I don't really recommend this hotel. If he has to lay it down in a friendly manner this is very good, but on the contrary he explained very rudely, I'm sure other customers will be disappointed with this kind of service. Until now I have not received an answer why we have to pay extrabed again? Please explain.

My experience at this hotel was disappointing. The staff was highly inattentive and not friendly at all. The room and the hallways were not very clean. The bed was fine. They do not provide any toiletries, kettle or fridge in the room which is something I expect even in basic hotels and motels. The room had no air conditioning and we had to leave the windows open which lead to dust. The location is the only good thing about this hotel since we would walk everywhere.

We love Salzburg but don’t like this hotel.

Ceiling fan was broken (missing a blade), mini-fridge was broken...had to throw out 15€ of food that got hot. Shower head cradle was broken. Elevator call button for our floor was broken...I had to take the stairs down to the floor below to bring it up to our floor so we could haul our luggage down. Very limited parking. Room was hotter than hell and even with the window open at night never cooled off enough to sleep. Lousy desk service in the evenings. The hotel was generally run down, a lot of chipped paint in the hallways. I’ve stayed in nicer budget hotels for a lot less money.

Do not stay here

Horrible hotel. Paper thin walls you can hear everything on your entire floor of crowded people. No air conditioning which is a problem on the summer. Horrible stay. They give you a blanket the size of a child’s sleeping bag for a king bed. Two sleeping bags but it doesn’t cover a 5’2” 150lb female. There are plenty of other hotels to choose from don’t book here.

Close to sights.cheap. when artived no one at reception. Then when she arrived was having lunch. However other staff polite and made up for it. Nice double room . Clean and comfortable. Overall our experience at Am Neutor Hotel was very nice. The staff was accommodating, the room was clean and comfortable, and it was in a convenient location. Our room was a bit small for 3 people, but having two bathrooms made it better. The price was good for a hotel within walking distant of the Old City, so the location really couldn't be beat. Overall a no-frills hotel but nice for it being fairly inexpensive. I would recommend to anyone looking to stay within walking distance to almost everything while traveling on a budget.

The hotel was in a decent location. It was within a 5 minute walk to the old town. The hotel only had one small elevator. The stairs were hidden and the staff did not even seem to know where they were which made the wait for the elevator significantly longer. The room was clean, but a bit run down. This would not be my choice if I were booking again for Salzburg.

They sold us a superior room but it was a comfort room, i double checked with the reception lady and she confirmed but since we booked 2 superior rooms we could easily compare rooms and at the check out points the rude staff said sorry and charged bith rooms in superior rooms rate , was a ripoff, also the aexond night we could not sleep from the above room noise at midnight had to call receiption to shout them up.

Nice hotel close to the 3 Festspielehauses

They have two locations across the street from each other, I liked the room, the bathroom, the safe; asked for more hangers--they didn't have any; there's no mini-frig, no air-conditioning; the shower set-up is guaranteed to get water on the floor. Lots of TV channels to choose from, about 6 in English, also an all-music station with some opera and other classical music. Free Wi-Fi; I was there for 13 nights, the cleaning staff was very accommodating although not English-speaking, and the reception was friendly, competent, English-speaking.

A clean hotel with a nice location for tourists

The hotel is located west of the tunnel, very close to all the major attractions. Our room is actually in a building on the opposite side of the hotel office. There is a grocery store about 200 meters west of the hotel. If you want to climb to the top of the hill, take the street east of the hotel and go about a 100 meters north and you will find a path to the top of the hill near a building. You will have a very nice view of the city. You can also go to the castle from there.

The WORST was the flow control on the shower; it took me three times as long to shower as it would if there had been no flow control. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
The room was not what I expected considering the price. The bed was very uncomfortable, there were no air condition in the room (and in August it is unbearable). I was not able to sleep. The room service did not provide the necessary toiletries when needed.
I travel very often (2-3 times a year). Considering the price of this hotel, I truly was dissatisfied and frustrated. At the end of my stay they actually charge an extra tax amount. My experience has been that when you pay your hotel, everything is included up front. Nowhere did the hotel indicate that there will be tax charges at the end. Overall I would definitely never stay at this hotel nor will I recommend it.

AVOID this hotel!

The absolute WORST hotel we have ever experienced in Europe, Asia, or the US. The hotel was run down, dirty, and offered no amenities that you would expect in a 4 star hotel. The room had green mold all around the windows, the bathroom had black mold, and the paint was peeling from the dampness. Housekeeping did not vacuum or mop floors during our stay. The staff, with one exception, was unfriendly and unhelpful. We even tried discussing our concerns with the manager who offered no assistance. Sushil, at the front desk, was the only person at the hotel that provided any service or assistance. The room was very worn and needed maintenance and a renovation. Some of the electrical outlets did not work so we had to decide if we wanted to use the fan to try to cool the room or plug in the TV. Only two flat pillows and two small, thin towels were provided. Do NOT stay here!

It's a separate building on the opposite site of the main hotel building. I think it must be converted from a hospital or assisted living or some other kind of facility. The bathrooms, showers are not great. The commode is some archaic design which makes one reluctant to do the deed. The shower is basically open, without a curtain or much glass as a barrier. I don't see how one can shower without flooding the bathroom, although I did a good job with pointing the shower head and taking awkward positions.

Good location, friendly staff, outdated decor

Location was nice, staff was friendly and helpful. Slightly out of tourist area so it makes it feel comfortable but you can still walk to the tourist spots. Room decor was a little strange and outdated. Overall good experience.

Nice but weak wifi

They actually upgraded me to a suite so happy about that. However wifi is weak. So no video streaming or any videos work.

That can be very expensive if you go off wifi to get it.

But overall good value.

Nice location, and the price is about right, but..

The entire hotel is way past due for an update.
Rooms were pretty clean.
I downgrade them for uninformed and rude front desk staff. We had three people in our room and the roll-away single bed was completely unacceptable. Many of the cross supports were missing and others would fall out in the night. The thin pad (mattress?) was not nearly thick enough.
Still, the location and price make this worth considering if you only have two to a room.

Good location and bright rooms

Reception was friendly and nice. Room and bathroom was large and bright, some cracks in the bathtub but overall it was a nice hotel. Its not as bad as the reviews have said. Just 5 minutes walk to reach old town via the tunnel. Car Parking at 12euros/day. TV couldve some English channels.

Convenient hotel in Salzburg

The hotel's location is great for sightseeing in Salzburg. The old town is a short walk away. The hotel staff was delightful: friendly, attentive and helpful.

The hotel was ideally located for the activities we had planned. The rate we paid per night was excellent. The room was large and very clean. The only drawback was the bathtub. It was a large, deep soaking tub which was a challenge for me to get in and out of.

Good location, just 5 to 10 mins walk to the old city and 10 to 15 mins to all other sights. Nice and helpful staffs.

The hotel is ideally situated in the old city, right at the bus stops or parking garages.

Everything was good, but one drawback that was hard to get over was that the wifi didn't work in my building the entire time. This was a huge inconvenience.
