Short 1 night stay the room we had was an apartment and had separate bedroom, upstairs mezzanine room with access to outside large balcony (in nice weather this would have lovely views onto the nearby mountains), separate WC to bathroom, small kitchenette with microwave, kettle, electric hob, mini fridge and a large lounge area. The hotel was very close to a lot of local amenities, small shopping centre, supermarket and a short walk to Hellbrunn park. The main city was a 2 mile easy walk but there was a lot of public transport available just outside the hotel

This is a great hotel located about 5k outside of the old town. Located on a main transportation line you can easily catch a bus to the downtown or enjoy a beautiful stroll along the river. The staff were great at the hotel and there is an amazing on site restaurant.

Brilliant hotel. Beds were super comfortable, room was spacious with a fridge and microwave and the hotel was right next to the bus stop into town. The room was immaculately clean, staff were terrific and the small gym set up was perfect for us. Just across the road from a comprehensive shopping centre with a great supermarket.

Came in before the room was ready but they quickly got it done so we could settle in. Staff was very professional. A more modern hotel, sweeping staircase and central elevator. Views from everywhere as there are windows on all sides. Beautiful snowy mountain view from the upstairs portion of our room. Yes, it had a bedroom upstairs! Tea and coffee with an electric water pitcher in room. It was quite a lovely space. It was a bit of a longer walk to the older section of town but this gave us the opportunity to walk through the University, check out their mall, etc. Food in their mall is delicious! No fast food here!

It's not too bad. Despite being a bit dated, the place offers good location for access the town. For a €4.20 you can get a ticket at the buss station which allows travel around the town the whole day.

This hotel is out of the way, not close to any attractions that I could tell, but they do offer bike rental if you want to get around. It has definitely seen much better days. It looks like it was an amazing place a couple decades ago, and hasn’t been tended to since. All the carpet and upholstery is faded and badly stained. The bed was comfortable and the room was spacious and the place had free parking and allowed dogs, which was all we needed for a one night road trip stop, however, I would not recommend this hotel without some renovations. I do think it has the potential to be a great place, and I would even say it deserves to be. The view or the mountains is a delightful way to wake up and the room size is magnificent.

In addition to the convenient location, this hotel has a 24hr reception which is ideal if you are travelling in the area. The hotel also has the added bonus of secure parking. It was clean and the rooms well appointed. Breakfast offered a good selection of both food and drinks.

Very nice, new clean hotel with good access to the Hotel itself and by bus to Salzburg central. Great coffee at the new in house cafe. Despite being next to a main road,the Hotel itself is set back a little and as a light sleeper none of my three nights were disturbed by traffic. The rooms are large, clean with a nice bathroom. The heating/cooling is easy to work and actually works. For me travelling by car the best bonus for me was the secure under ground car park with lift access to all floors.Tea facilities in the room but no coffee! Fridge in room which was handy and large tv with satellite channels. Overall very good and I will use this Hotel again on my next family visit.

My husband and I booked a room with a patio. Upon checking in and confirming that the room did indeed have a patio, we were informed that the hotel rooms do not have patios only the apartments (which of course are not offered on hotels.com). We were offered an apartment for an additional 80 euros. We did end up upgrading to the apartment because of the balcony. The room was nice but looked like it hadn't been cleaned in awhile.We were very disappointed in the false advertisement that the hotel offered on website. The hotel is in a nice neighborhood close to a shopping mall and a bus stop. It is not near any tourists sites.

Plenty of free parking. Very good 24 hour reception. We had car troubles and didn't arrive until nearly 3 am, but called ahead and found the reception waiting for us so we could get to bed quickly, which was nice. Rooms are big with nice bathrooms and very clean, a great value for the money. The beds weren't super comfortable, but we didn't have troubles sleeping regardless. Also really enjoyed Salzburg, it's a beautiful city and this was a good base to see it from.

Arrived after checkin time but rooms were not ready for 3 hours. Complained to front desk,when room was ready it had not been vacuumed (more delays). Following day the rooms were not cleaned at all nor clean towels provided. One room had no shower curtin but staff claimed this was normal, presume they enjoy cleaning this room. Breakfast was a bit disappointing, hot foods were not restocked, not enough fruits.

We were fortunate enought to receive a fan... Others that arrived later did not. Even with the fan the room did not cool down until 11pm.
If you are staying in a time that the temperatures are normal, I recommend the hotel. If you are staying during high temperatures, then I would not recommend this hotel.

This hotel made our stay in Salzburg a perfect 5.0 Nice and clean rooms. Perfect location about 3 miles from center of town and Mozart's old apartment. Small bier stube and a very very very nice breakfast including smoked salmon and countless other items and cold cuts. I will be back.

Hotel room was large & comfortable and very good value with free parking. Room was great and staff at reception were very helpful but that could not be said for the restaurant. Choice of both food and seating without smoke there seemed very limited and service was almost non existent. We and another couple were ignored while looking for an evening meal menu and when we finally attracted some attention we got the impression we were simply not wanted so left and instead found an excellent Greek restaurant just around the corner.

This is a good business hotel. Its in the middle of all the motor franchises in Salzburg and the owner is a petrol head, the hotel being a shrine to Austrian motor racing, and Joachim Rindt in particular. We were well pleased with the accommodation of this hotel. Our room was large & comfortable with great opening windows. We chose to stay at this hotel on the edge of Salzburg as somewhat of an experiment for using public transit - and it worked fabulously as we were into the old city within 10 minutes. This business-oriented hotel worked well for 2 tourists who were passing by.

I had a medical emergency. The staff were more than helpful and very flexible with our check out dates and times. They made sure that the doctor was called and arrangement made at the hospital. I am very appreciative, especially since I was there with my husband, 5 year old and new baby.

I stayed two nights at this hotel, and it was great! The decor theme is 60's era car racing in the lobby and dining area. I'm a huge car fan, so I was thrilled when I discovered this. Add to that, the room was clean, nicely appointed, and had free internet. Very pleased!

We booked a superior double room for 5 days and what we got wasn't that superior. Firstly the photograph on the website is quite different from when you actually see the building. Signs are not very clear, you book it as the Amadeo and on the sign it says Schaffenrath. Pros:Great location - it worked for us because we had a car & they offered free parking. Also it's quite close to the motorway - we used Salzburg as a base to travel.The room was an ok size & they had a decent size tv in the room & only one channel was in English.Cons:The bathroom wasnt very clean. In fact there were some black dirt stuck in between the tiles.We complained that the water was getting collected in the bathtub when taking a shower but nothing was done to resolve it & through our entire stay we had to stand in 2 inches of collected water while taking a shower.The Reception staff were ok depending on who you got.The lady who checked us in was manning the desk, checking people in, attending phone calls & seemed quite harried.The internet in the reception area is very very slow.Not attached to a printer so if you need to do an online check in you have to plead & cajole the reception staff if they can help you to get a print.The breakfast is additional & not worth it.We booked a superior double room & expected either a double/queen bed atleast.What we got were two narrow single beds joined together.The pillows were really flat and thin.There is no a/c in the room.The carpets are quite old and smelly.

On arrival at the hotel our room was definately not what we expected to find. The room smelt like dirty socks and stale cigarette smoke (it was a non-smoking room) and facilities were pretty basic. There were also weird lumps in the hallway floor that you couldn´t avoid stumbling over.
We went down to reception to find out if we could change or upgrade our room. We were told that we could upgrade but we had to pay an additional €400 on top of what we had already paid for the five night stay. The room was slightly better however the air conditioner only worked at certain times of the day and the room became hot and stuffy quickly which made sleeping a nightmare.
Staff in the hotel restaurant did not speak English, which was strange as they had given us english translated menus.
Overall the hotel was not one we would recommend to others as there were much nicer ones in the area.

Hotel Schaffenrath in Salzburg - good but...
The Hotel Schaffenrath in Salzburg is a conveniently located hotel when coming with the car, especially from the south. Parking was free with ample space in the garage - a bus stop for the downtown bus is located in front of the hotel. The rooms were clean and nice, but due to the lack of a shower curtain or equivalent and no bathroom fan installed, a moldy smell constantly lingers in the bathroom. From years of standing water the bottom of the door jam was rotten. The matresses were on the harder side, perfect for people who like it that way (me) - not so good for your pregnant wife... Overall a very good deal for that prize in Salzburg.

Sehr hilfsbereites und nettes Personal. Das Hotel ist nicht ganz, dass was wir uns unter 4 Sternen vorgestellt hatten aber war im Großen und Ganzen ganz OK. Positiv überrascht waren wir von der größere des Zimmers inkl. kleiner Küchenzeile! Die Sauberkeit ist verbesserungsbedürftig zB. beim Frühstücksbuffet verstaubte Gläser oder nicht saubere Kaffeetassen, fleckiger Teppich im Gang und Kleinigkeiten in der Dusche, wie Kalkflecken, alte verdunkelte Silikonleisten. Aufgrund der praktischen Lage und Preis-Leistung ist das Hotel trotzdem weiterzuempfehlen!
