Could not have been treated better. After arriving after check-in limit 8:00pm, our family was able to go in and sleep confortably. Next day, really good breakfast and treated as nobres by the owner for a very good breakfast.

Camping Hotel with amazing host

Sort of a youth hostel vibe in the rooms. Thin and old sheets and towels, heat controlled at a central point. Great host and varied breakfast. Nice surprise of a free bus pass to get into Salzburg.

Had a great time. Nice, warm and cosy place. Bus stop is right next door and i found public transport very good.
Breakfast was nice with lots of choices.
Lovely view from our room window.
Check out is 10 but we were given extra time so we could catch a bus.
I would highly recommend this place away from the hustle and bustle of Salzburg but still very close.

We had a great stay at Auwirt. The owners made us feel right at home as soon as we checked in. We enjoyed beautiful sighting of the Alps at the property along with a wonderful breakfast. The hotel is a bit away from Salzburg's downtown but it has a bus stop just at front, and Salzburg's bus system is just excellent. We had a train to take to Budapest early one morning and were able to get to the train station (which is about 30 minutes away) right on time. Thank you for the Great Experience.

好的一点是有投币洗衣机。

We had the best 3-night stay at Auwirt. Margaret is a wonderful hostess! She greets her guests by name and makes sure that you love your stay, both in the ease and comfort of their small hotel. Auwirt is a nice quiet place with a great cold breakfast spread, including fresh smoothies, We enjoyed the Biergarten with Austrian fare. Margaret is also very helpful when planning variety of fun local excursions, most being within 20 min. We made two trips to Bertchesgaden and Königssee because we enjoyed the lake so much. We also went to the Eagle’s Nest (go early if you hope to get parking. Otherwise take the public bus up to the starting point.) Again, thank you for your attentive hospitality, Auwirt staff. We hope to visit again in the future!

The service and friendly staff at Auwirt are outstanding! They made us feel right at home. The location is great, with access to Berchtesgaden, Salzburg, and lots of other places. We had breakfast at the hotel. It was fresh and there were so many good options that it was difficult to choose! Over all, we will stay here again when we come back to this area.

Great home base for exploring the region

The hotel is a fantastic home base for exploring the outdoors opportunities in the region. This is a family-owned establishment that provides a very gemütlich experience at a very reasonable price. I found the breakfast to be quite tasty and traditional for the region, and enjoyed eating at the restaurant for dinner during my stay. The nearby town has plenty of amenities and access to the autobahn is only 10 minutes away.

Home style comfort in Hallein.

My wife and I stayed 2 nights while exploring and paragliding in Haĺlstatt and Hallein. The owners are so nice and the meals are lovely homemade Austrian fare.The rooms are very nice with lots of warm wood decor.

We were very much impressed with this wonderful hotel in Salzburg. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The food was also amazing. Because there is a camp ground also on site that is managed by the hotel, there is also a pay to use washer and dryer on the premises. The rooms are very comfortable and the continental breakfast offered a wide variety of items. It is only a 20 minutes drive to the parking lot of the Eagle's Nest from here. I would absolutely recommend this little country gem to anyone staying in the area. Fabulous find!

Loved it so much we stayed longer than planned!

This hotel was definitely a highlight of our trip. The owners are so meticulous to make sure that you enjoyed your stay. They gave us suggestions of things to do in the area and WOW there is lots to do in the area! We had a car and appreciated the free parking. Close by is the world's largest ice cave, a cool salt mine that kids will love, Berchtesgaden, Lake Halstatt, Sound of Music trail, and HohenWerfin Castle, Salzburg and so much more! Make sure you have dinner here! The food and beer are outstanding and so is the service! We also enjoyed a wonderful breakfast every morning. They have thought of everything! They exceeded all our expectations. We hope to come back and visit again!

As a party of 4 people in our group, we booked two nights at this establishment during our road trip between Vienna and Germany.

Hotel is located a short distance outside Salzburg and sits between Hallien, Salzburg, and Undersberg which are the 3 main tourist destinations in short distance. The hotel has a traditional hotel, a restaurant, and a camper van area at the back of the hotel. This hotel is easily reached by car, and parking space is more than adequate and is great choice are traveling by car and planning to avoid the city limits. There are buses that can take people to the city, but they run at limited hours so without a car, it may be a little difficult to reach here and transverse around.

For the rooms, there are a number of rooms that you can pick. We decided to pick the road-side rooms that are slightly cheaper. However by picking the rooms there, it is located next to the road which is a local highway and below the room is the hotel restaurant that could be a little noisy until closing time. It wasn't a big issue for our group as we returned quite late to the hotel. We might recommend having the mountain view if you are sensitive to noise.

Inside the room, the room size are larger than our other hotels we tried and generally comfortable. I had an issue with my bed that it was a little too soft. One of the days the towel replaced was a little old, which we didn't use.

The breakfast here was enjoyable with a good selection of food that we enjoyed.

So happy we chose to stay here

My family and I have been traveling around Europe for the past few weeks. We wanted to see Salzburg and spend a few days in Austria. We chose to stay at the hotel Auwirt in Hallein vs somewhere in Salzburg and we couldn't have been happier with our choice. Not only is the hotel very nice, the staff is great, and there is a lot to see and do in the area. One huge benefit to us was that we were able to do our laundry at the hotel while enjoying a couple of beverages in the sun rather than sitting in a laundromat somewhere. I would recommend this hotel and area to anyone wanting to visit the region.

Told manager the room had no soap. No soap supplied. No elevator to access rooms. Towels were very worn and old, dried on a clothes line and thus very rough. Auwirt is one notch above camping.

Lovely Family run Hotel

From the moment we walked in the door, we were greeted with genuine warm and hospitality by our hostess Margaret. Her family have been running this small hotel for generations, the old family photographs add a feeling that you're in a family home rather than an impersonal hotel. Breakfast was included, and was more than generous. The room, though basic, was perfectly sufficient for the one night we stayed. We left happy, and would book here again without hesitation.

Princess Margaret deserves her name!

We were treated with some of the most helpful advice and service by the entire hotel staff and especially Margaret, who helped us on a daily basis in order to make sure our plans worked out.

All (ten) of us were pleased by our stay and would stay again at this hotel.

Pluses: bus stop in front of hotel for inexpensive ride into Salzburg. Large and interesting breakfasts. Extremely clean.

The rooms were clean and roomy. After a long drive, we arrived before check-in time, but the owner let us into our rooms anyway. The breakfast was always fully prepared with many items to choose from. Margaret, the owner, was very sweet and accommodating to all her guests. I would gladly recommend this hotel to anyone.

We only stayed in this hotel for one night as we were passing through the Salzburg area on our way back to Prague but after our interactions with the staff, I wish we stayed longer. The hotel was nicely decorated and the woman who greeted us was so sweet and kind. She really made us feel welcome. The room was very nice with a comfortable bed. Great place!

I was leery about staying here with my students on a school trip because previous reviews had given it bad Internet connection and as you know that it's important to students. However things must have been upgraded since that review because the Internet was the best we have had throughout Europe. The rooms are very spacious, clean,fabulous breakfast and what a wonderful hostess. I would give this an absolute sums up and would definitely stay again

Perfect family hotel.

We stayed in an apartment and it was very modern with plenty of room for the four of us. The place is family owned and also a campground. Everyone was very nice and very fun to stay with campers from all over Europe. Breakfast was excellent. The location as perfect for traveling to lots of places in Austria and Germany. Highly recommend this hotel!

We had only booked this hotel for one night as we wanted to stay close to the salt mine in Berchtesgaden. After a long trip on the road - coming from Italy - this place was heaven. We received a very friendly welcome from the staff who had been waiting for us so we could still have a nice warm meal past 9pm. The room was huge and everything was clean. In the morning we had the most interesting boutique style breakfast ever. Seemed like you could choose from a hundred different things: bread, Broetchen, cake, cereals, spreads, different sausages and cheese, eggs, but also tiny containers with yummy apple sauce and Marillen Topfen (Quark in Germany, let's just say something similar to yoghurt...), juices... you name it, it was there; and all with the typical Austrian flair.

We (family of four) stayed in an apartment at Hotel Auwirt. The apartment was modern, clean, provided typical Eurpean breakfast and large. In a word, it was perfect for our Salzburg holiday. You should consider this hotel if you are in the area.

Will definitely go back!

Hotel Auwirt was a great place to stay during our trip to Salzburg. You can take a bus that stops very near to the hotel into Salzburg and have no worries about parking your car. The breakfast buffet was wonderful and the dinner meals we ate there were delicious. Best of all, it is a family run business and they are a delightful family. Very hospitable and helpful!

Wir haben 10 wunderschöne Tage im Au-Gut Hotel verbracht.
Madeleine und ihre Familie sind so herzliche und liebenswerte Menschen, die mit ihrer Art den Urlaub sehr bereichert haben. Jederzeit ansprechbar und immer sehr bemüht.
Die Unterkunft ist super gepflegt und sauber, zudem geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Auch der Außenbereich ist schön und lädt zum Verweilen ein. Man kann den Blick über die tolle Landschaft schweifen lassen und den Urlaub genießen.
Die Lage der Unterkunft ist insgesamt sehr zu empfehlen. Man ist z.B. schnell in Salzburg, in Berchtesgaden und am wunderschönen Königssee. Es gibt so viele weitere Möglichkeiten von dort aus Unternehmungen zu machen, egal in welche Richtung. Für jeden Geschmack ist etwas dabei.
Wir freuen uns auf ein nächstes Mal :-)

This is a hotel I used when driving through Austria. It's a simple hotel but had everything I needed. The service was very personal and nice and the breakfast was good. My bed was small but very comfortable. Parking is available at the hotel for free. It's a nice hotel for a very good price.

Väldigt enkelt boende men med jättefin personlig service. Rummet var litet och jag fick inte igång tv'n men det klarar jag mig utan en dag. Sängen var ganska liten men väldigt skön. Parkering på ett inhägnat område. Frukosten var jättebra och man kunde beställa vad man ville ha.
Ägaren som sköter stället är väldigt snäll och såg till att jag fick all hjälp jag behövde för att komma in på rummet trots att jag kom sent på kvällen.
