Management was friendly when checking in after hours; surrounding residential area was questionable but hotel property itself looked in good condition; rooms clean; fair price; but a male prostitute was hanging around the rooms late at night so that wasn't good.

First off, convenient location to downtown Kelseyville, and the proprietor was friendly, as was the cat..lol. Unfortunately, beyond that, not good. Run down property, and filthy room. Dead plants in planter boxes, and gross furniture outside. Inside, dirty worn-out linens and towels. Yucky stuff on ceiling, and moldy shower curtain. (See photos). And it seemed like there were some 'long term' guests staying there. I'm not a picky person when it comes to budget lodging, but this place is a borderline health code violation.

I drove all day . Was super tired about to fall asleep driving.i had a reservation that a family member got for me ahead of time.i showed up around 1130pm he would not answer door for over a hour and half. the family member told him that I was checking in that she was getting room for me I had a id first off I noticed he was watching porn in the house part.the office smelt like strong body order .and stong smell of pee he told me.he could not let me stay because i did not have credit card .so i slept in cab of my truck. In parking lot I disputed charge the next day .thay lied and said I never showed up very dishonest I have never felt so disrespected .thay probably have bed bugs I would never take my family there I do not recommend this place dirt dishonest rude very unprofessional

Check in was sloppy, manager was barefoot and berating a housekeeper in front of me. Room was sloppy, furniture scratched and stained, terrible paint with empty picture hooks sticking out, stained bedspreads(which did not fit the beds), dingy and stained towels & bath mats, 2 double beds with one jammed up against the wall blocking access to the air conditioner and window. Floor planks peeling up in font of bathroom sink. Very strong smell of bug spray or disinfectant (had to sleep with sheet covering my nose and mouth). Couldn't switch rooms, they were full. Couldnt switch motels, limited selection on fairly short notice.

The owner or night manager was rude, unfriendly … plain miserable man!
The door lock jammed and i couldn’t get out of the room. He came … he complained. Then to recoup my senses I stepped outside to take a breath and locked myself out, leaving my card key in the room.
Had to get him again and he said “if you do that again you’ll have to leave!”

Granted locking myself out was my dumb mistake but his comment was uncalled for and definitely not a friendly man running the place.

Never here again … yuk!

very disappointed...

It wasn't very clean. The bed skirt was dirty with spots on it. There was no fitted sheet on the bed and there were yellow spots all over the flat sheet and blankets.It looked like ants or some kind of bugs were smashed on the bed skirt and not changed. The shower towels looked and smelled like they were already used. The little bottles of shampoo,conditioner, and body wash were used. I was disappointed that the fridge was more like a freezer and the shelves in it were sticky. the mirror had spots on it.The counter was dirty and dusty.

The property is far off the populated area. The room was excellent with clean floors, bed and towels. The parking lot felt very unsafe and with nothing surrounding the buildings it was extremely loud. The other guests in the parking lot were far away but sounding like they were standing on the other side of the window. Inexpensive and the fridge, microwave, tv & a/c worked fine.

Uncomfortable Place to Stay

Being a 2-star motel, I am aware that I need to lower my standards. However for the price, I expected a little more. Checking in was a bit sketchy as the office was closed so you had to ring a doorbell to call someone. There's a window to the side, where it's tinted and you don't clearly see who's on the other side.

Issues:
- There's stains on the comforter
- The front door is worn out
- Bathroom towels are dirty and not shower towels
- I may have discovered a flea on the nightstand and tried to kill it, but it got away
- A/C is loud (but at least it works)

Not a good experience

I was very disappointed and dismayed to find that motel was not \"pet friendly\" as I pick this specifically to bring a dog that needed medical health at a local vet. The owner show me a big sign in red saying \"No Dogs Allowed\". Your website and other sites say the motel is pet friendly and dogs are allow. The owner charged me $30.00 more to allow the dog to stay. Room linens appeared to be stained if not dirty. Very disappointed.

Didn't like anything about it. Tried telling us that we had no reservation and argued about it. Finally gave us room that was dirty and a smelled of pot. No security locks on door. Not a good stay at all. If there was anything else around we would have left.

Relative to the area

I was generous with my rating because of the two other motels I stayed at in the area recently. I’m moving up so I just wanted a cheap quick stay while I was looking for a permanent place to live. Although this motel was obviously run down it was cleaner and had nicer amenities than the other hotels in the area at the same price.

The door took some real elbow grease to lock and the bed was not the most comfortable...This is not a place to go for a luxury stay… But if you were in the same boat as I was… I would choose this one again over the others.

The property was dirty the room had a breeze through the door
The Towels were small towels. I asked for a couple of new towels after using our for 2 days and he gave me a hard time about it. Our room was not cleaned at all during our stay. Very small bathroom. Water pressure and shower head need replacing. I asked for more toilet paper and he gave me a hard time. There were people living there I think they were up all night making noise and running around well after 1 am every night.

It seems more of a working “smoking” camp than a motel.
The room seemed to have been bath into Pine Sol to tried to mask the cigarette smoke. Very unpleasant, this is not a smoke free establishment.

bullet hole in the window, people living at the motel, working on cars in parking lot, men catcalling the females, given grief about having a pet at a, \"pet friendly\" location, TV didn't work, a/c wasn't consistent, door knob literally came apart and could not secure the room, beds felt like parchment paper layed over a pile of springs, every surface was sticky... the only positive thing was we were refunded when we checked out two days early.

K'ville motel is a sweet little spot.

One Thursday a month Kelseyville has a street dance and we happened to be there for the festivities. The motel was close to downtown with sweet shops, a great brewery and fun times.

My Short Vacation

One complaint- loud people at night. It sounded like a party right outside my door. Every night. I didn't lose sleep, but it was annoying. During the day, nice & quiet. T.V. was complicated. Very good guide to local spots of interest.

Ungrateful for the fire personnel

As a firefighter/ PGE contractor working on the line to get power back to this community and ensure their safety, I don’t think it’s too much to ask for a refund on one night since my orders have changed and I’m being sent to a fire down South. The manager is very ungrateful for the hard work everyone is putting into this town apparently. Will not use this place ever again for myself or my crew.
