I can overlook a lot but so many things here! The floors were filthy, carpets smelled like urine, only one plug worked in the whole room so charging devices was impossible. Three little half pillows and covers as thin as paper. The icing on the cake was running out of hot water one minute into my shower with shampoo on my hair. I had to rinse in the sink with cold water. This was the worst hotel experience we have had in many years. Would not recommend this hotel at all!!!

Parking was ok. The room needs updating, that we had. You get what you pay for. Small bathroom, low toilet, one bug in room. The bed was ok, but summer cover it was cool out, not a good night sleep. The sheet had some kind stain on it and one face cloth for two. They did bring up one more wash cloth. The Roof needs a makeover.

This is a shady area that does not feel the safest. The room was so torn up. It smelled like cigarette smoke even though it was non-smoking. The mattress is old and pitted and had a very thin comforter on it. The check in staff was kind. Would not stay here again.

I had to go to the office everyday to ask for clean bath towels. I stayed there a week they did not come and clean the room one time. The room smelled like mold had cockroaches. Woke up one morning with a cockroach walking on me while I was in bed sleeping. I stated this hotel in the past 5 years and it was in good shape but now it is really not. I will not be staying here again

DISASTER IN DAYTON

I MADE RESERVATIONS FOR A TWO NIGHT STAY FOR A HANDICAP ACCESSIBLE ROOM. WHEN I ARRIVED THAT EVENING AROUND 10 PM, I WAS TOLD THE ROOM WAS ON 2ND FL. AT THAT TIME I HAD TO PAY ADDL $17 FOR A RM ON 1ST FLR. I PULL UP AND START TO UNLOAD MY WHEELCHAIR BOUND MOTHER, AND THE OCCUPANTS ACROSS FROM US ARE OUTSIDE ARGUING, IN BRAS AND NEGLIGEES. TRAFFIC ALL NIGHT AT THOSE ROOMS. LEFT THE NEXT MORNING, AND RETURNED THE NEXT DAY AROUND 7 PM. RM KEY WAS DEACTIVATED, WENT TO FRONT DESK AND THE LADY REACTIVATED IT. GOT TO THE ROOM, OPENED DOOR, BED NOT MADE, TRASH NOT OUT, NO FRESH TOWELS OR FACECLOTHS. I GO BACK TO DESK AND WAS TOLD THAT I DIDN'T REQUEST ROOM TO BE CLEANED!! IF THAT WASN'T BAD ENOUGH, I ASKED FOR FRESH TOWELS/FACE CLOTHS AND LINENS. NONE AVAILABLE..BUT SHE OFFERED TO TAKE ME TO LAUNDRY TO CHK FOR MYSELF, WHICH I TOOK AS SARCASM. I ASKED FOR REFUND, SO THAT MOTHER WOULD NOT HAVE TO SLEEP IN SOILED BED (SHE'S INCONTINENT). I WAS TOLD, I DIDNT GET THE ROOM THRU THEM THAT I NEEDED TO SPEAK TO EXPEDIA. NO REFUNDS..WELL THE BATHROOM WITH THE HANDICAP ACCESSIBLE BENCH AND WAND FOR SHOWER..THE WAND DID NOT WORK. NO SHOWER FOR MOM--INCONTINENT FOR TWO DAYS!! TERRIBLE! THE SINK HAD SOMETHING IN IT AND WOULD HOLD WATER UNTIL DRAINED SLOWLY OUT. NO PHONE IN ROOM, HAD TO WALK TO FRONT DESK TO ASK WHERE ICE MACHINE WAS. This is an upgraded Red Roof Inn. The rooms are nice and renovated with new flooring, bedding and furniture. There is a strong smoke smell. Other wise not bad for a short stay if your not trying to break the budget.

When I checked in, The non smoking room smelled of cigarettes. I found a maintenance man, and with the help of his translation phone, got him to understand, and he sprayed to the best of his ability, and opened door to air out room. Then the fridge didn't work. Found him again and he took a fridge out of another room and exchanged it . ( BTW) I could not understand the gal at front desk at all. When I got into the shower, the soap dispenser didn't work. Had to go to from desk, luckily a guy I could barely understand. He came up, couldn't get it working, so just put soap in a plastic cup. OMG!! So the coffee pot comes with coffee, but no cups for the coffee!! There is also an iron board, but no iron. So, My suggestion is DON\"T GO THERE!! The room was actually clean except for the smoke stench.

So gross.. our room had sticky dirty floors, bugs, nasty nasty beds and the whole room smelled. Couldn’t get a refund they said because I booked through a third party so they offered me another room. It was a little better but still smellly and dirty floors. I ended up leaving after an hour or so for a new hotel . I didn’t want my toddler playing there

If I could've found somewhere else to go, I would've! Within 15 minutes of being in the room, a roach comes crawling from behind the table onto the top of the table between the beds. The worst sleep I've had in a while.

Worst Hotel Ever!!!

The hotel refused my fully paid stay because my wife made the reservation and she was not with me! So I had to pay a second time to get into a room. An hour later while I was asleep two men started knocking on the door and were insisting that I open the door and let them come inside to check my smoke alarm! Upon hearing that there was nothing wrong with my smoke alarm and that I was not going to allow entry under any condition they continued to bang at the door for another ten minutes before leaving under threat of the police coming. I called the front desk to report the incident and the desk clerk said that they worked for the hotel and were really trying to get inside because they suspected I might be smoking in the room! Nobody had been smoking and the lights were out! When I got up to use the washroom at night I saw a cockroach on the floor. I’m 68 years old and very well travelled This was by far the worst place I have ever stayed. If you stay here and have a bad experience don’t say that you weren’t warned. You’ll be happier sleeping in your car!

Honestly I will never book a room there again. Our first night, we did not have any heat and temps were in the 30's. We did not have any towels and the refrigerator did not work. Our second room we constantly had to complain about not having hot water and we had roaches. The outside is covered in dog feces, the washer did not work and the vending machine always had issues. I was so very disappointed with our stay there.

Me and my wife stay there years ago when they upgraded on a different management however now the place is totally the opposite I would not recommend this for any circumstance look like most of the residents were there staying long term place with dirty beds were not fit for anyone sheets were dirty there were debris and trash behind the nightstand and under the bed as well some type of bugs flying around and crawling around wish I could have got my money back and stayed somewhere else however I didn't do it this terrible experience would not recommend for anyone

Advertised as non-smoking, but it is noticeably NOT. Room 104 reeked of smoke & had a cigarette burn on bedding. Moved us to room 140. It did not smell much better, but we took it. That night after returning from activities, realized there was no shower curtain. Pillow cover had a cigerette burn as well as bedding, again. Ceiling was peeling. Hole in bottom of bathroom wall. And back of.toilet had a lid tbat did not fit it. This place is disgusting. And wall side of security lock did not match up with location of matching door end. You get what you pay for. When my husband checked us out, he told clerk about no shower curtain. She did not understand, saying something about \"no hot water?\" He said \"No! There was NO shower curtain! We.could not take a shower!\" Do not stay here!!!

This place seriously needs to be shut down! I booked this place thinking it was a decent hotel... boy was I wrong. Upon arrival, the young man at the front desk was polite and let my travel companion and I check out the room. As soon as the door opened we both could smell mildew and smoke right away. It was around 1 am when we checked in so due to being tired we just agreed that the room would do for the night. After we officially checked in and were able to observe the room we were absolutely DISGUSTED. We both noticed that the left corner of the room smelled terrible and that was when we noticed that there was literal dog feces on the wall next to the bed. There were flies under the covers and brown stains on the sheets. There were red stains on the chair and the back of the door as well as huge urine stains. The bathroom floor was left with trash and used soap. There was hair and dirt on the carpet and the Tv was broken. The fire alarm was also missing from the wall and every electrical plug was broken. My travel partner and I decided that the place hadn't been cleaned since the day it opened, so we immediately went back downstairs to return our room key and check out. The young man at the front desk offered to give us a different room which we declined. He told us that he couldn't give us a refund which at that moment we didn't even care we just wanted to get out of there. We ended up sleeping in the car and I filed a claim to try and get a refund.

My room smelled heavily of marajuana, it wasn’t very clean, the toilet was broke and kept running constantly.

The curtains were broken and ceiling paint was cracked and peeling off. The marajuana is what really got to me. They had an air freshener in there but it didn’t really work. I didn’t sleep because of the smell, and the toilet running and I woke up with a headache.

Gal at the front desk was very nice upon check in, that was the plus and I appreciated her kindness after I had driven 12 hours.

I hated this motel so much I cancelled my reservation at the red roof in Missouri and booked with another chain instead. I am driving across the country and don’t want to risk another night of lost sleep and continuing headaches due to smelling weed all night long. I know it’s affordable but I don’t think it’s too much to ask for it to have a working toilet and not smell of weed,

Let me count the ways on why this place is not ideal. Arrived to find barefoot children running around and people picking up cigarette butts off the ground. The room had a white powder like substance all over the floor that my fiance had to clean up prior to our son and dog came in the room. There was a huge hole in the drywall in the bathroom. There was someone else's hair all over the bathroom, including the dirt and hair in the sink. There was dirt and bloodstained sheets. The pillows were flat. The \"blankets\" were two thin sheets. The door closed but you could see the light coming in around the door. We settled in early only because we had to be up early. The A/C regularly turned off and would have a high pitched scream. The neighbors above us were constantly jumping around while the ones next to us screamed at each other all night. The dog barking outside our door was also annoying. We left early this morning and, already, there was trash and stuff all over the parking lot. Dirty. Dirty. Will never go back.

It was probably the worst experience, the staff acted like walking in was an inconvenience, I had to step over people while walking up the stairs to my room, the police were there most of the first night because of a domestic disturbance, if you closed the bathroom door for too long the stench of weed was overwhelming but the icing on the cake was when I went out to have a cigarette and found a trunk hanging on my truck I left after that !

My experience at the Red Roof Inn in North Dayton was fairly odd, as it almost felt like I was staying in two different places. When I got into my room, it was very clean, the decor was thoroughly modern, and it felt like a nice place to spend the night. In the other hand, other things seemed… not exactly right and a bit rundown. The security lock on the door wasn’t properly installed (one bolt instead of two, so it had to be rotated around to lock properly), the shower was mysteriously lacking a shower head (which of course I noticed only after stripping down haha!), and the toilet ran constantly. It worked fine for the one night, but I definitely would have asked for a different room if it weren’t already pretty late or if I were staying longer.

The staff at checkout was rude and hateful. Accused my wife and I of smoking in the room which is quite odd because neither of us smoke. Kept our $50 deposit and refused to give it back, I even offered them to check our bags and vehicle for cigarettes but they would not take me up on that offer. Low budget hotel, needs corporate to fix it up

Needed a place to stay near the Eclipse Totality. Most places were already booked. Stayed 2 nights. The toilet had a slow running trickle, the TV had a single white pixel burned in mid screen and there was no way to close the curtain for a shower as the bar was loose and hung down too far. Otherwise I did get a good nights sleep, and that's what I was there for. The complex needs work.

When I arrived the room was dirty. Long black hair all over the bathroom and sink. Even a plastic knife left on a rug. The rugs were very dirty and the tile was gritty. Dirt in the corners and along the walls. I asked to be moved or the room cleaned and they very politely agreed to clean the room. I left for my business and upon my return it smeled fresher. The hair was gone but the dirt was still in corners and along the walls. The neighborhood was a little scary. And many of the Scariest were staying at the hotel .

I recently stayed at Red Roof Dayton airport on Miller Lane Ohio and would like to bring attention the deplorable conditions of this property.

I was given room 123 to stay in for 4 nights. Entering the room it smelled musty dirty and like a wet dog. While I understand that this is a pet friendly property it was obvious that this smelled more like a pet shelter than a guest room.

The following were my observations of the room:
•The small carpeted area was filthy and appeared to have never been cleaned
•The ceiling of the room had major cracks and the paint was peeling off
•The bed covering was dirty with stained mud on it
•The towels were dirty
•The shower barely had any water pressure or any hot water and showering was next to impossible
•The lamp in the room was covered in rust and the shade was stained and torn
•The rooms heater/air conditioner had its panel smashed out and was impossible to control or know the temperature
•The bedside table had the front plugs smashed out and the plug for it was torn off
•The inside of the bathroom door had been chewed at and scratched like a dog was left trapped in the bathroom
•The lights above the bed had the majority of the bulbs missing
•The toilet paper roll holder was basically hanging off the wall
•The door to the room would often malfunction and lock with the deadbolts and it took repeated times to get them to retract

The location was the only positive about this hotel. Our rooms, both the one we started with and the second one we switched to, had a bad smell, like mothballs and mildew. It gave the rooms a very dirty feel, like there was mold growing somewhere. (The front desk offered us some Fabreeze to mask the odor.) Our second room didn't have a working TV, but at least the AC unit worked. The outlet by the sink did not work. The bedspread on one of the beds had stains on it. The flooring had damaged areas and mystery stains. We didn't take our shoes off in the room. I am not a germaphobe at all, but this room made me afraid to touch anything and you can't relax in a room like that. The best part of our stay was leaving the next morning and breathing some fresh air.

Needs lots of work & updating

This was the most disappointing Red Roof Inn I’ve ever stayed at. Bathroom was disgusting and needed a real professional to update. I ended up going to a store to buy a sheet and pillow to use rather than sleep on the bed as it was. The mattress was awful. My door on the exterior had a place where it had been kicked in. My traveling companion had a window with a huge crack in it, and also had a disgusting bathroom. We checked out early and asked to be refunded for the 1 night we didnt stay. They said they’d refund us. If that refund does NOT come through, I’m going to be very upset.

There were flies in the room - yuk.
The airconditioner was broken.
The room smelled very very bad.
The place looked unsafe, and so we packed up requested them to cancel and refund us. The staff were very cooperative, and willingly cancelled our reservations. Waiting for our refund to come through.

Never Again - Room Not Fit For Human Habitation

We couldn't stay as room conditions were unacceptable - we both suffer from asthma and were shown 2 different rooms but both had previous occupants smoke/smoking residue permeating the entire room. Went to another hotel and we were promised a refund that never came - I'll never stay at any Red Roof Inn again.

needs a cleaning crew

the room looks nice when you first open the door until you actually walk in the floor hadn't been swept in who knows how long accumulated dust moved with you a you walked. there were wods of hair through out the floor. a braid on the side of the bed. the sheets were stained, the blanket on top was dirty looked like it has never been washed. Tv remote didn't work. The TV barely worked it kept losing signal I guess because it was raining. there was no refrigerator. The tub was really clean overall if the room and the linen were clean it would have been nice.
