Our room gave us a stunning view of the sunset into the Atlantic. The Aeromar is a favourite of ours - offering great accommodation and food. Clean, simple and unpretentious. Great bus links to the airport, Faro and beyond

This is a nice beachside property, with excellent views either of the ocean or the sound side (ours was ocean, but we sat on the outdoor patio on the sound side a bunch too). Beyond the obvious excellent proximity to the sand, the real winner here is the people running the on-site restaurant - they really just could not be nicer and more accommodating.

Practical. Very overpriced.

Stayed for 1 night due to location of the airport. Staff were friendly and barely 5 minutes in a taxi from the airport. Breakfast was ok.
Hotel is very dated. The (white) toilet had orange ageing all around it. Bathroom was very cramped in general. Matttess was rock solid, and I like a hard mattress! Could hear the planes running at all hours, wasn't a great nights sleep. Not sure what I expected though with it being so close to the airport, so maybe thats on me. Balcony view, local beach looked nice. Overall, its a ok hotel but absolutely not worth the premium I paid.

Very clean great location amazing staff

Booked a short stay here whilst moving around different cities in Portugal with my daughter. Then returned because of the ideal location with family when we had to check out of a Villa early. The hotel is immaculately clean in the public areas and in the rooms. The rooms are basic, the room i stayed in had a newly fitted bathroom, again spotlessly clean. Little travel tooth brushes, tooth pastes, razors, shaving foam and soaps all provided.

Location is 10/10, the hotel is opposite the lovely beach and restaurants on the Island.

Staff were so lovely and accomodating. Cleaners attended room every day to check if we needed anything.

Wonderful overnight stay before flying home to Canada.Fesk clerk was very friendly and helpful and made you feel welcome.Decent breakfast in the morning.Syaffvrecommended a nature trail nearby for morning walk.I was given an hour later check out time.Would stay again.

The staff are really helpful, rooms serviced every day, great views from the roof of the Atlantic Ocean. The beach is 100m from the hotel. The restaurant is good with a selection of dishes cooked with locally produced food. A very pleasant place to stay.

We chose Aeromar because it was a small locally owned family run hotel with a restaurant. We had a great time and were treated like special visitors by the staff. It has small European sized rooms. Very clean. Nice bathroom. No mini fridge but staff stored our food in hotel’s refrigerator. We will be back to stay here again. A special thank you to Carlos.

Nice Hotel right near the beach.

The Room was nice with a balcony,
the only problem was the Traffic outside
from 7am all the way to 2am none stop cars, bikes coming over the bridge to get parking spaces its just way to noisy as should as you step outside the hotel the traffic all the way up the road its crazy !

Even the bin men come at 2am in the morning
So if you stay in the front off the hotel your get NO sleep at all.

Its a shame because i do like the hotel as its right to the beach & only 5 mins away from the airport.

Hotel Aeromar is a real gem in the Algarve. The photos on the websites don't do the rooms justice. My room overlooked the Lagoon beach, stunning views and a beautiful sunrise can be viewed from the balcony. Rooms on the other side of the Hotel have views of the Atlantic Ocean and sunsets. The room had many home comforts, the ensuite shower and bathroom was great. A security chain lock on the room door was a big plus for me being a solo female traveller. Buffet breakfast excellent, lots of variety, cooked or continental and very nice coffee, tea, hot chocolate, fresh juice, etc.
The Hotel restaurant also offers lunch and dinner and a Bar.
The beach on the Atlantic Ocean side of the Hotel is incredible, miles and miles of soft white sand. Sun loungers can be rented or you can sit on your towel for free. Bars and restaurants with amazing cuisine along the beach front. Magical place. I was lucky to see a flock of Flamingos coming in to land near the Lagoon. I'm told it's common to see Flamingos in the area.

A nice hotel that needs an Update

The hotel is old but has a character to it. The staff on the front desk were wonderful and super friendly. A platter of fruit and a large bottle of water were provided on arrival. Tea abd coffee making facilities in the room. No lift but only 2 floors. Rooms were dated but spacious and comfortable. There was a balcony overlooking the lagoon which was very relaxing. I would avoid dinner here, there are plenty of better options nearby. The breakfast, however, is wonderful and plentiful. The rooms can be noisy in the evening from the resident band and singer (awful) but it finishes at 11pm. I would stay again if I was jn the area. Convenient for the airport and Uber cost about €6 each way.

The bed was on springs and hard as a rock. King size with two small pillows. They charged 10 euros extra because the reservation said one person by mistake. The tv did not work and a man stood by our bed for half an hour trying to get it to work. They need a new bath mat because it was falling apart. The beach was across the road so that was good.

Right by the Atlantic ocean. The hotel is walkable from Faro Airport in approximately 30 minutes or you can catch the number 16 bus from the Airport for €3.00 which goes directly to the beach. The staff at the hotel are very friendly and will do anything to help you enjoy your stay. The hotel has a restaurant and snack bar which serves some excellent food a lot of which is locally sourced. The rooms are comfortable and are serviced every day. A very nice place to stay.

Been going to this hotel for many years. Its very close to restraunts, the airport, beach, nature reserves and the bus to faro so a great location for me. The hotel does not have a pool and the decor and electrics could do with a upgrade but the staff are friendly, its clean the food is reasonably priced and theres a great space on the roof to chill out.

TV cable box and heat/air conditioner did not work. Left a pastry out (no fridge) and it was covered with ants. My wife took a shower in the evening and hot water was fine. I took a shower in the morning and no hot water available. Restaurant next door/attached was excellent. View was excellent as well.

We stayed here for 3 nights in a superior room. The hotel is a bit dated. Quick check in, there is tourist tax to pay on check in. Happy with the room, comfy bed and pillows, very good individually controlled air conditioning. There is a TV in the room with a jumble of cables, room would be better off without it and could do with a small fridge and take out the settee. We didn't have breakfast in the hotel, but had 2 evening meals and a couple of drinks. We had a monkfish cataplana one night which was 35 euros and was good value. Nice bottle of wine 10 euros. The following evening we had the tourist menu at 20 euros each, we both had the mixed fish, bread, olives, both had sangria, followed by a lovely chocolate mousse and pudim flan. We also had 2 coffees, excellent value. Would stay here again, we enjoyed our stay.

I stayed in room 114 which was quite spacious and airy .It has it's own bathroom which is quite compact but very usable. The room was serviced every day and kept very clean be the nice cleaning staff. There is a snack bar and restaurant which does some really nice food. The front of house staff are all really friendly and knowledgeable and will do their upmost to help. Overall a very enjoyable stay at the Aeromar.

My first visit to this hotel. Staff are very helpful, pleasant and efficient. There was a problem with the first room I was allocated. This was changed without any problem and with courtesy. Great snack bar and dinner in restaurant with live music.
Maybe not suitable for anyone with mobility problems-.No lift, but Carlo carried my luggage up and down for me. Thank you.

A quaint haven

The Aeromar is a quaint little place. It has everything you could possibly need, certainly for an overnight stay before an early flight from Faro. It's a bit old fashioned but friendly, clean and (for our stay) quiet. Our room overlooked the river, which was lovely. There's a restaurant and snack bar, and other eating/drinking places literally across the road. We ate at O Rui, which does very good fish and seafood. We would happily stay again.

Honestly, this place was very charming. The staff were lovely and honestly the decor Is kitschy but it works. Biggest drawback was the noise outside in the morning - lots of traffic along a bumpy road - but it’s in such a spectacular location and it’s got a different charm than the big antiseptic resorts. And the beach in Faro is gorgeous.

Here are my honest thoughts about our stay.

[Positive]

- Amazing location (a few literal steps from the beach, Ria Formosa and several restaurants in the Island of Faro)

- From the hotel, it's very quick (15min drive) to get into Faro and 5 minutes (with no traffic) into to the airport

- Food at the Hotel's restaurant is Excellent and very tasty (and fairly priced) although I found the menu a little bit limited (in terms of options)

- Hotel and Rest staff we're amazing! Very friendly, helpful and caring. Also they speak a number of languages (I heard Spanish, Eng, French)

- Some rooms (facing the beach) have large varandas, that was a delight

- Hotel has Wifi

- Rooms have aircon and a small TV

- Hotel offers beach towels/sun umbrella

[Negative]

- This hotel (and it's in room furniture) are quite dated (although some people may enjoy the old school 80's vibe)

- The rooms don't contain small refrigerators, so if you did not get a deal which included breakfast, half board or all inclusive you'll be struggling to store simple things like drinks, dairy products etc. (although the hotel offered to store it for us in the restaurant fridge)

- No board/iron

- We have very high standards of cleanliness. Our bathroom was not clean to the level I expect of hotel rooms. We had to buy bleach and give it a deep clean ourselves in order to feel 100% comfortable.

- Room lighting is very poor

- Beds are hard and uncomfortable

Overall, 7.5/10.

The only good thing about this place is that is located on the beach and in summer that's great. However the hotel it's very old fashion with very uncomfortable bed at least in my room. It's not recommended if you don't have a car as it is far from city and there is no bus access to town. I've booked for 3 night but after 1st night of bad sleep I've changed hotel. For the same price found in city centre good modern hotel.

The location is great being next to the beach. However the management are not investing in updating the now tired rooms. Poor quality replacement of things like shower fittings and cheap toilet seats do not help.It is OK for a night or two but poor beds and old furniture would put us off staying longer.
