All was adequate given the excellent location close to nightlife, Patong beach, Jungceylon Mall and an abundance of eating/drinking spots. Whilst generally polite, staff need to get off their phones and try interacting more. Whilst adequate, the staff did a good job at cleaning the room. I relied on outside for any touristy support and excellent meals. You have wverhing at your doorstep including bars, massages and other places to eat. I found to really difficult to get taxis in Patong.

This hotel deserves way more credit than given! Amazing guest services by the owner and staff! Don't expect to come to a gay hotel without expecting some wit and sass but they're fabulous and everything you need is there for you! Clean room, amazing fresh thai breakfast, sweet male staff, cruising sauna if needed, excursions available. Great location, convenience at your doorstep. I would book again and again everytime I got to Phuket!

It was my first time staying at a Gay Guesthouse and it was great. Golf staff member was excellent, he made our trip special by helping us with travel arrangements and history of the Phuket. Especially at breakfast he made each meal to our request. I must say he's the star at Aquarius. He really knows how to make guest feel welcome.

Apartment suite was comfortable and big. Bed mattress not the most comfortable, a bit too firm for me. Good breakfast although limited choice to either full American type breakfast or Thai. Both were great though. Housekeeping service was good, my room was clened daily, 2 bottles of water added daily.

Discreetness upon entry/exit into premises and also location of dining area/bar area not great as this is located righr within the paradise plaza so something to bear in mind if you want a bit of discretion.

Wifi not the best unfortunately, my signal kept dropping especially in the room despite having access to both 2.4 and 5g wifi.

Unfortunately stairs may be difficult to climb if unfit or have arthritis.

Sauna area may benefit from having some lights even if a bit dimm as i found it difficult to navigate whilst inside.

My taxis had difficulty in dropping or fetching me from the guesthouse as there is no direct drop off point at the guesthouse bevause of its location within the passage of the paradise plaza so as a result i often had to use the name of an adjacent hotel whose entrance was opposite the paradise plaza, in order to get to my transport vehicles for tours/transfers.

Date of stay 6 November till 9th November, had booked till 12th but checked out early due to changes in work schedule and change of flight bookings.

We wanted a centrally located hotel with character near all facilities. Our rooms were a good size with en suite shower room. Rooms were immaculately clean with daily cleaning done to perfection. Generous American breakfast, with refills. Hotel is within Paradise PLAZA. The bar is relaxing and friendly. The staff were consistently professional, attentive and helpful. Near all shops, restaurants and nightlife, with a 10 minute walk to the beach.

**PROS:**

Super kind and helpful staff and very nice owner. Everything was provided as advertized and promised. Relaxed, fun, easygoing vibes. The rooms were very clean, comfortable, and as pictured. Free Water was always provided and room service was always ready. The noise from the parties and wild streets outside were surprisingly quite minimal and did not disturb us despite being so loud outside till late hours. Super convenient and fun location near all the gay life and shows. We did not eat the breakfast but felt that it was a bit on the expensive side. AC worked perfectly.

**OTHER:**

I would say the bathrooms need a facelift and it would be nice (because of the price that is charged) that they offered shampoo and conditioner. Bed was a little too hard for me, but i guess someone else might love that. Again: everything was clean.

I do recommend for a few nights and would return for a quick fun stop at Phuket. 9/10

I had some trepidation based on previews reviews. Although difficult to find once there the check in process was quick and friendly. The room was definitely small and outdated while clean and \"just enough\".
Can't say enough good about \"Audi\", check in and general helper, \"Chart\" cook and host. These two, for me, made whatever \"bad\" there was excellent. The housekeeper too was friendly and efficient.
the sauna etc. ok and I didn't get to check out the sundeck because the sun wasn't visiting Phuket that week.
The place could definitely use updating but it's clean, and extremely friendly staff. they need to figure out a way to be more easily found by taxis and airport transports.

The friendly staff greeting on arrival and quick check in and had a nice chat with owner Paul over a few beers. The room was nice and well-appointed and most important the shower had good hot water and pressure.
I am still saddened that this guest house is only a shadow of its pre-covid self but all of Thailand is suffering the same, many many small and large businesses have closed and no doubt never open again. Aquarius had a good restaurant with a wide variety of meals, I was saddened to have to walk to another motel to get breakfast but I am sure that Aquarius will get back to its old self.

location for this type of hotel is excellent. Just in the middle of everything. The sunroof is great and opens 24hours. The sauna for hotel guests is free and opens from 3pm.

Inferior Small Annex Room

By far the worst place I stayed in. I was very displeased with almost everything from this sub-par hotel. I wish I had seen photos of the room that I stayed in prior to booking as those were not available online. I was frustrated with the Internet connection (well if there was any to begin with) luckily I had SIM card otherwise my stay there would have been even more MISERABLE! Also the staff forgot the key to reset the safe and he asked me to give a call to get him. I was reading the dialing information using my cellphone as there WAS NO PHONE in my room although it was mentioned on the booking page that there was one. When I inquired about it, the staff just plainly said your room doesn't have a phone! The bed, well as soon as I sat and when I tried to sleep in the middle it caved it. The room was poorly maintained with cracks in the ceiling. The balcony was non-existent, you couldn't even sit outside because there were two air conditioning units, one on each side emitting more heat along with the sun. The bathroom was so small that the shower curtains attached to you while showering. The sauna facilities were ok, but the roof top had little privacy as the people from nearby hotels could see everything. The upstairs hot tub was out of order and not working during my entire stay. The archaic gym machines had so much rust that it was quite unsafe to use them and make sure you have your tetanus shots. For the price paid, so not worth it! Please do more research!

Fun stay.

We originally booked for 4 nights but ended up staying longer after changing rooms. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was very good.
It is a little tired in places however the place does have a certain charm. Great location for watching the world go past when it rains.
We did use the sauna and pool and met some nice guys, also tried a bit of skinny dipping in the pool.
Would probably book again if we return to Phuket.

My room was clean and comfortable. The restaurant was reasonable and staff pleasant. However, there weren't many people staying there. My room was not at the same site as the front desk. I had to walk up a narrow staircase 25 meters away passed massage place and garbage bins often littered with rats, down a balcony hallway shared by the residents in this structure passing their hung clothes drying on the way to the doorway to my room. Though I was happy with my room, I wouldn't stay there again.

Very kind and helpful staff and people around.
So convenient place yet so quiet ! The gym is open anytime I wished to go. Breakfast was good and we got so fantastic coffe refilled without asking for it. First when we arrived, we were chocked cause the hotel was located in the market! And the building is quite old, so we were not sure how our 8 nights’ stay would be. But it turned out to be really good to stay there, we had such a relaxing time in a retro hotel with warm service and people! We will definitely come back! It was much better than staying at a hotel of a hotel chain or a boutique hotel. Cause of the feeling of an old days’ nostalgic hotel both place and people.

Annex standard room was very small and pokey. Bedding very worn, old decor overpriced compared to similar properties in same area. Not warned until after booking sauna and pool in main building not included with a no breakfast booking (so why the high price) situated quite away from hotel by massage shop

The breakfasts and dinners were good. My room was very dirty. The jacuzzi water was green and jacuzzi didn't work. The swimming pool was filthy. Each bill I was given was wrong, always overcharged. The manager didn't speak to me or even say hello for my entire stay, despite sitting at the bar each night, where I was often sitting too. It is in a convenient location for all the gay venues but that's all

Great experience at Aquarius

Flew down from BKK for 4 nights. Quality of service is great. Best part is that the guys who work there act like friendly family and treat you like friendly family. Very friendly check in. Nice quiet restaurant and bar. Surrounding area has gay nightlife and can get noisey, however, Aquarius was not noisey. Amenities include free access to the spa which we used every day. Patong beach can have a run down look but other beaches in Phuket area are much better.

the car that picked us up from the airport booked for us by aquarius was late waited 20 minutes and found taxi was the same price as the hotel pick up car but as we were about to get into taxi driver shows up,no saying sorry for being late and he put us in a shuttle bus 9 seater,when we could have got a taxi or nice private care for same price so we are glad we did not book a return transfer organize that ourselves and found many better cars for same price,we had there 2nd best suite the jacuzzi suite for 12 nights,the bed was as hard as the floor but had noted that a couple other guys said this in reviews but we thought that must be because they must have stayed in the cheap small rooms,but no there 2nd best suite bed was hard,the first night did not sleep well because of the bed but also the aircon was loud like a car motor belt broken type of noise but is had stopped at 9.15 in the morning 2nd night was fine 3rd night is did is again all night we told reception they came up heard the noise it was making and later that day 3 guys from a air con place came and fixed it,the other reviews were saying how friendly the staff were we found most of the staff quite nice,there are quite a large number of staff including massage boys ect,but 3 staff were very unpleasant did not smile look like the hated working there never smiled there are 2 to 3 staff in the morning that would take care of quest for breakfast the older guy with the glasses was not very nice look down at us did no

Paton as a town is gross, will never go back. That being said this hotel was great to enjoy the gay nightlife for a couple nights. Gay nightlife was fun for 2 nights, they should move the entire gay scene to a different town though. Patong beach is dirty, didn't want to get in the water, moved to Kata beach which is wonderful but taxis are such a rip off, you can't come back into town for the nightlife. I guess they don't care as there are plenty of Russians that are happy there. I'll go elsewhere.

If you want to stay in a gay hotel in the heart of Patong, these guys did a good job. Although Patong and this central area is not so nice, it was still very fun to spend a couple nights right in the gat scene. Although the beach is gross, I suggest getting to a neighboring beach, although there was some eye candy, the water was dirty.

A great surprise in the middle of paradise complex

As being my first time in Thailand and Asia in general I was afraid of getting it wrong with accommodation and activities. In fact, I now consider myself rather lucky to have found and chosen Aquarius gay gests house! From the very first day, I was greeted by lovely people who could not do enough for me! The owner Paul and his lovely partner were always very friendly and professional. \"audi' (Apologies for the spelling my Thai is non existent) was a real gem ! He arrange for me great trips and has contributed to my stay being a truly amazing experience. If you are a gay guy looking for a truly good place where you can have all that you need, this is the place to be. I am now considering going back to Thailand at some point and of course Aquarius will be my new home when I go to Phuket which I hope it will be very soon indeed.

Disappointing after all much hype about the hotel

Outdated and non availability of amenities as advertised. Wifi was non available for the whole period of my stay without much explanation from the hotel. Room was more like a worker hostel and the sound of rats running on the ceiling the whole nite. Another point to note the taxi transfer to airport booked via the hotel dropped me at the domestic airport in which I had to run all the way to the International Hotel which is good 3-4 km to avoid missing my flight.

A 3 day gateway in paradise....I loved it....

I spent 3 nights at Aquarius and it was amazing. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious. The room was super clean and the location golden. I was right in the action, the shopping, the massages and the owner is very hospitable. I spoke to him a few times and I will surely be back. I really did not want to leave but I had a 4 am taxi to the airport. The staff is so well trained. Hospitality is what they do. Always ready and willing to help. I wish I could have stayed longer. The place is very safe and super clean. The saina is the right size and a lot of cite guys visit it. Overall what a great experience to have stayed at that hotel and the price value was super good....
This is the way to go Aquarius staff and management. I will ve back soon.

1. Main Entrance door to my room is so dirty.
2. My room was on the top floor. No lift to the top floor. I have to climb up the stairs.
3. Actually, I did not want to make a fuss about the above. It all started when I requested that the staff cleaning the room to replenish the teabags and satches of coffee only to find out that once I've consumed them I'm not allowed to ask for more. As a frequent traveller I must say that was a ridiculous excuse one could have given to a hotel guest.
4. The ceiling fan above the bed I think is a safety hazard. The management should consider a fan on the wall not on the ceiling.
5. I find the staff unfriendly. I felt so unwelcome to the hotel. They should not be so discriminative.
6. I was overcharged.

I already have sent an internal mail to the hotel which is more personal. All I can say that I have been deceived with all the good reviews and ratings. I've learnt my lesson not to come to this hotel or the likes of this hotel should I visit Phuket again.

Unlikely to stay again

i can hear loud music from massage salons that goes late into the night.
The aircon constant loud whirring can be heard throughout the night
construction from neighboring unit can be heard till 8 in the evening.

Beware of Additional Charges

I booked a non-refundable \"room only\" rate which stated that it did not include breakfast. Fair enough. But nowhere within the description of the hotel or of the room did it state that there would be an additional charge for the use of the pool, sauna or gym. To use these facilities I was told would cost an additional THB300 per person per day. I ended up complaining to Hotels.com who agreed with me and they covered the additional cost. In hindsight it was not worth the additional cost as the sauna was empty most of the time and some of the equipment in the gym is dated or in need of repair. On the positive side the staff are very friendly willing to lend a hand when required.

Great Staff... Warm Welcome

When you arrive in the hotel reception all looks great, high standard of decor and cleanliness and the staff are AMAZING, friendly and helpful. The bedrooms however are a bit disappointing as they are tired and in need of a good DEEP clean, lick of paint and some new furniture.
Having read most of the reviews previously, i wanted to try it for myself and can completely understand the negative reviews, however it you're similiar to myself who normally stays in 5 star hotels, its nice to try something out of your comfort zone especially as i am sure you wont spend much time in your room.
Breakfast is great a good selection of things to try and as mentioned earlier the staff are all really great and they are what make the hotel such a welcoming place.

I WAS VERY PLEASED WITH MY STAY

The staff is very friendly, helpful and speak english. They serve a good American Style breakfast that is included in the price. I stayed in a suite which was good sized, private bathroom with shower and a couch and two chairs..and t.v. .wireless internet in the room is included and I had no problems with it. The hotel is within walking distance to the beach and the entertainment section. This is a \"mens\" place to stay, there is a sauna, steam room and pool. I had fun.

Location is ok if you are gay!

The staff isn´t the best thinking that th thai people are very friendly.
The room was a tinny... if you want to book here book one of the hi price.
You have all th gay movement in the next block and the sauna is ok

I love this hotel!

Paul, the owner, and his staff were the best! This was my first time in Phuket and it will not be my last stay here. The hotel is so close to the beach (15 minute walk). The night life is even closer, yet the room was quiet at night to get a good night sleep. I booked several excursions from the hotel and all went extremely well. I can't wait to go back there next year!!

Perfect proximity to all \"gay\" activities.

Situated behind Patong's \"Gay Street\". A few hundred meters away from the gay part of the beach. In-house sauna with sun-deck where you can bathe naked. Staff are super-friendly and naughty! LOL!

It's not bad at all, for what you pay for. Good rooms, in the gay area. Staff is chill and service isn't bad. Don't think your going to a 5 star get away or anything. However, cheap and not bad living conditions.

Excellent gay travel alone or with companion

If you want to be near all the gay action in Phuket, this is, without a doubt, the place to stay. The staff is super friendly and helpful. In the lobby is a sitting area where you can order a drink or have their complimentary prepared (not continental) breakfast. It a two minute walk from the strip of gay bars and clubs.

I had to change my reservation last minute because of work and it was no problem at all. Excellent massage services, music, proximity to gay bars, walk to the beach. I will absolutely stay again. If you're looking for a family friendly quiet getaway, this is not your place. If you're looking for a fun and relaxing time, this is definitely it.

Because there is a sauna everything smells damp and moist.
The hotel is inside a market , but very centrally located. Wouldn’t stay there again, but the staff were very kind and helpful.
