If you are into the party scene of Patong , it is a great location.
The rooms are very clean.
The service at the restaurant for me was terrible and borderline offensive. Considering Thai people’s kindness ; it was kind of massive turn off and I stayed away.
. The service at the reception front was so so.
I would not go back there, but if you want to stay in this area it could be recommended as one of the best hostels I think

Best hostel I’ve ever stayed in! Very close to everything and amenities were a plus. Pool/ table tennis/ billiards. The only negative was the short haired receptionist who was extremely rude. I avoided interacting with her and just spoke with the other receptionist. Weird thing is the short haired would come over and include herself and attitude to any questions I approached with. Other than that stay here!

The entire staff was great very friendly very professional. I enjoyed my stay the room is great you have your own space to put your luggage and put lock. Everyday someone comes to clean your room and put new towels and the bathroom has enough toilets and showers to accommodate everyone.

The room that I was in turned out to be a nightmare. I woke up with bites all over and when I checked the mattress I found tiny bugs on the mattress and the headboard. I notified the manager immediately who told me it’s not bed bugs even though my bite marks looked like bed bugs and bugs were on the mattress and headboard. They told me I can check out early and they will refund me for the 2 nights remaining on my trip. It’s been a month and I haven’t heard back from them at all on the refund request.

The hostel itself is nice with common areas for ping pong, pool etc. The people I met during my stay were really nice including the staff that worked there.

Management needs to work better on cleaning the beds and processing the refund that they promised

Stayed with a friend for a couple of nights. Since our room was not ready at check in time, we were proactively upgraded to a better twin room which was awesome.
I really like the vibe of the place, with its swimming pool, young and vibrant atmosphere, and many activities, so I would highly recommend both the dorms and the private rooms, as this place provide a haven from bustling Patong beach.
The location is really good, 3 minutes walking distance from the beach.

It is a party hotel so if that is what you are looking for it is 5 star. We found that we did not use the pool as it is next to the bar with loud music late into the night and it kept us up as our room was next to the pool. But service was good great people. Just not what I was looking for I was wanting. Relaxed resort feel.

Establishment is the perfect mix of hostel life and people who want their own private rooms, although the private rooms are very small. Pool is wonderful (and open until 10!), and the bar and food are great! Location, location, location. Very close to the beach and Bangla Rd. People from all over stay here. To watch the pool area, you feel like you are watching Club MTV, that American TV show from the 80s where it is always Spring Break. Yet the music is never too loud and the room is pretty quiet. A/C, bedding and shower in the room are lovely, although I hoped for hotter hot water and a refrigerator (as advertised). The vibe and value are great: I would stay here again.

Half hostel, half hotel. Not social at all!!

Had an issue with the booking and tried to cancel but they refused and made me jump through hoops anyway. I booked this place as a solo traveler hoping to socialize and meet people since it was advertised as a hostel. Turns out, it's part hostel, part hotel. It's not social at all! The pool is completely inadequate as there are only 2 day beds and 4 or so lounge chairs for the entire property! They have another area with day beds and chairs and such, but it's far from the pool and was occupied by random people and couples. They offer pub crawls and other activities but they are ridiculously overpriced and totally not worth it. The 2 events i saw were all guys and the few young women that were there were interested in only hanging with each other and not even participating in the group activities. For a couple that just needs a place to stray, i guess it's ok.The shared hostel room was nothing special. I would definitely not return to this place with so many other options in the area!

The private room was very small but it was very clean and met my expectations. Service was good. I like that water was given in glass bottles rather than plastic. There was a coffee machine but it needed pods, which wasn’t provided. There’s no closet, and limited space, so be prepared did that. Overall it was a good stay.

Just too loud at night

The area is nice, but it's just too loud at night. There is quite some music until late coming from the pool area, and a lot of partygoers here. I booked 7 nights, but decided after just 1 night that I will move to another hotel, as unfortunately I was also sick and it was so loud at night I could not sleep. And yes, I lost my 6 nights, they didn't offer any refund or try to find any solution.

I would not stay here again to be honest. But: If you are a party-goer and you don't mind noise at night, this might be a great place to stay! And yes, it was clean, and the room was small but okay, basically what you would expect for this category.

Loved having the laundry with irons available.
Room was quiet despite DJ and everything else going on. I didn’t participate in all of the amenities but I imagine younger people really have a great time here. Room was very clean and bed was excellent. Great pillows and loved the convenience of light switches and outlets at bed. Would definitely stay again.

This place was amazing. Definitely recommend for solo travelers. They do a lot a activities that help with meeting people. Side note I do not recommend using the travel/tour agents in the building, paid 3500 baht with \"discount\" ($101 usd) for a phi phi island tour that everyone else paid around 2000 bath ($58usd) and the ones who used tripvisor paid $45 usd. I respect their hustle but I'm looking out for my fellow travelers.

Great location about 10 minute walk to Bangala road. Down the street from Patong beach. Lots of options for eating nearby. Restaurant on patio is quick and easy, but food is only okay. Pool is nice. Definitely a social environment. Room is good enough size. Towels are tiny. Linens in general are not the cleanest. Overall good value for the price. Desk staff is friendly and helpful. Feels very safe.

The aggressive taxi drivers on the Front of the property ruin your hotel. Come up with a better system. It makes the hotel look bad they seem like beggars and harassers. If you tell them no thank you why do they demand to know where you going after you tell them no? Really got to fix it ruined the hotel experience.

I took the deluxe king suite for 11 nights and it was spectacular.
Clean clean clean, room was always done on time to perfection . Property has a pool a restaurant... they could change up the breakfast menu but I would definitely stay there again.

But this place was something else... extremely clean rooms, nice dining area (which turns into a nice little bar area at night) with an adjacent swimming pool and pool table. All day breakfast. 2 minute walking distance to Patong Beach. Right in front of a night market with very cheap dining options. Will definitely go back one day.

We stayed in a private room with bathroom and only noted that the shower door does not prevent water from leaking out at the bottom, hopefully that can be fixed. I really love lub-d
This is my third time in a year staying there. Every time, i love it more and more. It’s super easy to locate, and walking distance from the party “Bangla road” it has many restaurants around, as well as beauty salons (per say) where you can get braids, nails, wax, etc.)
I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Overpriced Backpacker accommodation

The Lub D is an overpriced backpacker style accomodation.
It's time for friendly the rooms are very small and the beds are firm but acceptable. There is no fridge in the room and if you take a double room you can get hotels in the area for much cheaper with much more on offer.
The location is good with restaurants nearby and the beach about 7 minutes walk away.
The pool was murky and the water looked very uninviting even though there are number of people swimming smoking eating and who knows what else they would doing in it!
When I visited it seem to be full of Indian Chinese and Middle Eastern Backpackers who specialized in their own groups and did not seem keen on interacting with other nationalities. I don't know if this is the norm.
If you're after a couple of nights I guess its ok, but overall it's expensive for what you get because you can get hotels with your own room with much more facilities for exactly the same price.

The hotel is a new one, in both the hardware and it's running concept. The hotel provides a tourist friendly environment. You can enjoy your \"breakfast\" at anytime throughout the day, so you have no need to push yourself out of bed early in the morning.
Many different types of activities and facilities are provided in the hotel, e.g. yoga class, bike rent. The staff are friendly and good in English. The hotel locate at a convenient location, 3 minute to the bench and 10 minute walk to the mall. Considering the high transportation cost in Phuket, it's location is really a great selling point.
The hotel is not a luxury one, but if you want to have a budget visit at Phuket, Lub D will definitely be your cup of tea.

We loved Lub D! We had heard so many great things about this hostel, so we were excited. The staff (especially at the bar/restaurant) was great and the accommodations were perfect for all of our activities around the island. Every tour would pick us up in the lobby so we didn't need to worry about catching taxis. We decided to upgrade to a private room and it was perfect.

For this place being a hostel it was great! We got a private room, but it was still great. We learned about this place from a youtube blogger and he showed the hostels main floor and we decided to give it a try for our last days of our honeymoon. It was very good, I highly recommend this place. It is a 10 min walk from the mall and the Bangla Road and only 3 min walk from the beach.

Absolutely amazing! This was the 2nd Lub D property I stayed at in Thailand (after Koh Samui). The staff were the best! And that is ranging from the check in staff, entertainment crew, and the bar staff. I cannot say enough great things about the bar staff! You'll know once you get there!!
I stayed the for 5 nights, and I left feeling as though I became friends with everyone. All the other travellers there were so open, and welcoming, everyone got along great. The hostel hosts a pub crawl 3 nights per week, and it really just brought everyone together.
I was in a private room, king size bed, private bathroom, and it was amazing. Prices were very reasonable. Only a block from the beach. But honestly, the pool area was so much fun, it was hard to leave there.
If I'm every back in the Patong area, I would definitely stay there again!

Overpriced place for what it is - very small double room and no fridge. First room smelled very strongly of mold and we were about to book a different place. We asked to change, new room wasn't too bad. People are smoking in the pool and music is very loud throughout the day.
