The hotel was sketchy, old, needs a upgrade, the lady at the front desk rude, unfriendly, I asked a question and I felt like I bothered her. Parking lot scary needs more lighting. Room was okay heard a lot of noises all night. The whole vibe just didn't feel right. Inside the hotel stinky, for that many rooms there should had been more people there. If I could had cancelled I would had but it was too late luckily we left early next morning, didn't eat breakfast. I would never stay there again.

There was still garbage in the garbage can, the AC did not work, the Wi-Fi did not work for a full day, there was vomit outside of the elevator for over a full day, the smoke detectors were dead and beeping constantly. Also, doubles as a halfway house which was not stated on the website!

If your looking for an awesome clean state of the art facility this isn't it. This building is old, out side is dirty, homeless and people sitting around talking. Old broken down vechiles in the parking lot.
The lobby was way outdated it was neat and clean. The room was clean but very basic. It was an experience for sure. But if your looking for a place to sleep and not planning on hanging out in your room this is the place.
Would I stay there again? All depending on what was going on and the budget at that time!

I appreciate the noble venture that they’re trying to do there, but if they’re going to continue to run a hotel, then they need to be more professional. When we first got there, we weren’t able to check in for over an hour beyond our check-in time because they hadn’t heard back from the room cleaning staff. So literally there was a backup of about 40 people in the front lobby waiting to check in. You can tell the hotel used to be a really nice place, but they’re no longer able to put money back into the business, so the place is really going down. The sheets were nice and clean, and the bed itself was comfy enough. But you can tell the mattress and the box springs are pretty old. It was the only room available in downtown Louisville that weekend because it was very busy, so it did suffice.

easy parking except Friday and sat night gets crowded due to 2 adult clubs downstairs and/or events. Hotel is older needs big Reno which they are starting but also home to women in recovery and low income housing. 1st and last ever stay somewhere like that only place affordable and left in city for that weekend. Breakfast was not fresh or hot but left tip for staff because they were very nice.

This place is halfway house. Homeless and drug addicts are wandering in and out as they please. Place looks like it was built in the 1800s and hasn't been updated once. Also in a bad block of downtown. avoid at all costs.

This hotel is sadly a poor excuse for a place to stay. Yes it’s cheap, but as the cost of coming home with bed bugs or a communicable disease. I’m a pretty easy going person, but we chose to actually NOT stay here due to the conditions of the “hotel” and the rooms. Luckily it was only $50 wasted.

The first room we were assigned still had their trash and belongings and was obviously not cleaned (their bags were still in the room, the bed was used/linens everywhere)

The second and last room they had that we were assigned had a door that did not lock. This meant we had to pack all of our belongings into the car every time we left the room and crossed our fingers that we wouldn’t find strangers in our bed upon our return.

Very very dirty. Sticky counters, dirty rugs, dripping walls, roaches and roach droppings.

Hotel is also a halfway house/homeless shelter. The residents for the most part left us alone except for the ones that loitered outside, but I felt so unsafe.

The hotel staff was not trained and unprofessional. I believe they were people from the halfway house who were hired (which is great for the community but not the type of person I want to attempt to communicate with when something is wrong).

Not updated (and seemingly not deep cleaned) since the 70s. The air in the room took about 2 days to turn on, it only worked out last day there.

Every time we passed the front desk, there were others who rented who tried pleading with front desk for help, but their words fell upon deaf ears (I’ve heard a couple tell them they were suffocating due to lack of airflow because the HVAC wasn’t working, I saw a woman tell them she had dirty linens and dirty towels with hair in it, I saw a couple tell them their room they were assigned was dirty)

Ac was broken and didn’t even tell us on check in. Husband tried to turn the dial on the thermostat and it came off the wall and shot sparks in his eyes. Hotel staff had to file an incident report on it. Hotel was dirty, room was decently clean, people live in the hotel and lots of homeless people hovering around outside. Definitely won’t be staying again and wouldn’t recommend.

I didn’t even stay the night the pictures online are very old. You could tell the facility was really nice at one time but it is extremely run down. The rooms was not clean the walls was dingy and the carpets was stained up. The main problem I had was that when you are looking at the property online it doesn’t mention that this hotel is now a place for recovering women. This doesn’t show up until after you book your room and it appears to be an extended stay facility for lower income. I only mention this because after you book online you can not get a refund. I started questioning my decision when I pulled in the parking lot and seen how run down it looked, and when I walked in I knew I had messed up. I got to my room and looked around and went straight back to the front desk turn my key in and left. Would not recommend anyone stay here.

Check in at 4pm. I arrived at 3:45, but computer and wifi was down and not expected to be repaired until 6. I waited in the lobby. I was in town for a function that was to start at 6, so I changed clothes in the hotel lobby. I called the front desk at 9 and was told the wifi was back up and I was checked in. The front desk clerk stayed longer at her shift in order to provide me with the room key. Nice of her. The room was adequate and clean. Temperature choices were heat and cool, but no adjustment for temp. Restless night. I was given a coupon for breakfast that was to be served from 7-9am. Breakfast was a plate of scrambled eggs, 2 pieces of bacon, 2 pieces of dry toast, coffee and oj. After that, I was happily homeward bound. It was an adventure.

I knew this was a non-conventional hotel when I booked it, but I truly did not realize I was checking into a halfway house. Clearly, some of the folks that are in the program that runs this hotel live in the building. The room smelled and I didn't even touch the bed, I was so shook by the situation. We paid for the night and left to find another hotel out by the airport. I'm down for an adventure, but this was too much even for me. If it had been cute and charming and everybody was doing their best, I would have stayed. But it was so bad that I couldn't stop laughing the whole time I was there. Don't stay here.

The property is surrounded by a chain-link fence and 1 blocked access.
The parking lot is bordered with over-grown , unkept bushes. The entrances- one is blocked and locked with a sign saying check-in with security.
The lobby is poorly lit, and cluttered with old bookcases and furniture.
There are people lingering around the outside of the property - possibly homeless asking for money.
The telephone and television did not work.
The check-in staff was curt, and evasive when I asked if the property was safe to stay.
When I politely said I didn’t feel safe and needed a refund, the desk clerk told me it was up to Expedia.

The room was clean and serviced everyday except Sundays. The hotel is an inpatient recovery program and senior housing complex.ale sure you know this before you book. IDK you might like that kind of thing. Free continental breakfast was a donut and coffee in a styrofoam cup.

We stayed here for the festival and while I can put up with most things, this place was frustrating.

Now I can give the benefit of the doubt and say that the basics were covered. Hot water, fresh towels, and even free complementary breakfast each day. The ladies that served breakfast and handled day time cleaning within the hotel room were very nice.

However, that’s where the positives end.

I found it very frustrating that there wasn’t any consistent front desk staffing at night; yet there’s security staff everywhere. I feel like perhaps there’s room for cross training with how many staff members were lingering around and how many customers needed help; because it definetly wasn’t just us lingering around the lobby, waiting for someone to help us.

On top of that we were having constant key card issues, which resulted in us having to go downstairs every day of our trip and get them reset for our door.

There was a constant smell of wet sewage or perhaps mildew in the lobby. And we actually chose to check out a day early because my roommate felt that it was making her sick as the trip progressed.

I recognize that this place has an overarching mission to help those who have difficulties finding work, and I appreciate it. But this place just comes across as very disorganized and unfriendly.

I wouldn’t recommend it unless you have no other options.

This property was not advertised as a homeless shelter. We had individuals constantly stopping us for money inside and outside. The buffet advertised online did not exist and breakfast was not an option. You were fed as if you were in a soup kitchen. The air conditioner leaked and dumped water in the closet soaking all of our clothes. We were going to a timed concert and just had to have the clothes dried. They smelled rusty and burned by the time we go them back. The advertising is not the fault of the hotel. However, it should be noted the place has a bar at night where people were often intoxicated and security would have to escort us around. It was a lot of money not to know these things up front.

This is gonna be an honest review. Yes it is a halfway home, does that bother me? No. The tenants of the halfway home were like any other guest at a hotel. You don't bother them, they don't bother you. No druggies or sketchy people or anything like that. Staff was nice and helpful. Lobby kind of smelled a little funky but that's not a huge deal. Room was clean and everything worked. Nice big king size bed. Totilet and shower were clean and worked well. Breakfast was made fresh to order and they had huge donuts that you could grab alongside them. I have seen people comparing about it being a halfway home but from my expereince of staying for 5 days, that's not a problem at all. Overall good stay for the price.

WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE EVER

This was by far the worst hotel experience in my life. First, the first room I was put in smelled like someone had been smoking in there for weeks. They came up and verified that it did smell like smoke and so they came up and sprayed with with Lysol. That Fragrance combined with the smoke was horrendous. They finally found me a new room after 2 hours. The second room didn’t smell like smoke but had a musky smell. The air conditioning couldn’t be turned off and ran the whole night. I was freezing to death and Alli had was a tiny paper think blanket. In the morning there was NO water pressure and NO hot water, on top of that after getting into the shower, I had NO toiletries. When I got out of the shower, I had no hair dryer. I tried to call downstairs but the phone didn’t work. Then I had no ironing board nor iron. And when the iron they gave me, when I put water in it and placed it on my white pants, the water all leaked out and tons of black residues got on my white pants. I went down to tell them of all the situation and they apologized and said they would tell the manager. Manager never called me at all. And each time I left my room I would hang a do not disturb sign and despite the sign being on the door, housekeeping took the sign off and went into my room and cleaned it. I was there for 5 days and felt so locked in with no choice. I finally left on a Sunday and the following day, Monday, a manager called me and left a message. I called back and since then, no one calle

This is an older hotel that a Christian organization is using to provide housing for individuals while they get their lives back together. As a paying guest you will be on a floor with other paying guests, not the residents. But, you will encounter the residents as you come and go. Everyone we met was very courteous, very friendly and at no time were we (me, my wife, my son in law, my daughter and their two infant boys) worried about our safety. At first we were a little hesitant, but quickly grew to appreciate the effort to get these individuals back into society, and we were actually happy we could do something to help them be sucessful.

The staff (minus security) were very nice. The restaurant serve good affordable food, but the breakfast included with stay is a sad joke. The motel needs a major update and the security staf need to know how to talk to guests . They appear to been sent straight out of prison. . On my last day at the motel, I was waiting for my ride and the security tried to chase me out of the lobby. The parking attendant Also yelled at me and my guest when we sat outsider on the grounds. I GO to Louisville twice a year but don’t see me going back to Louisville hotel again.

My family was desperate for a hotel but this hotel was more of a rehabilitation place. The air conditioning did not work so it was extremely hot in the room. The entrance smelled of mildrew. I do not mind this property was a non-profit or mixed use. But I do wish I was more aware of what kind of mix use it is. I do not know it its a halfway house on certain floors, or if its a rehab, but it felt like there where many people coming and going. The front desk lady seemed ok, but also kind of looked at me like, \"why are you here?\" I am a big fan of historic properties. This place was beat to hell. The AC tried so hard, but could not really keep up. I will say the bed, linens, and comforter where clean, and so comfy. Would I stay here again. No. But do I see they try, yes.

The hotel felt like it had not been deep cleaned in years. While it is in a nice location and the staff was friendly, the overall experience left me feeling very gross. There is an ingrained scent of old smoke all over the building despite it now being smoke free. The phone and TV remote in the room both had a layer of dust on them and the floor left my feet feeling gross if I did not have socks or shoes on.

This is NOT A HOTEL!!! Do not fall for this! I already have a claim with Expedia but not sure how long it will take to get a refund. They had mattresses and boxes in the windows some had shades that were half torn down. Super sketchy part of town! NOT SAFE! To be honest, it was adequate, but over-all the hotel is suffering from routine maintenance and is located in a financially depressed area with dilapidation of the neighborhood and surrounding buildings; noted windows and doors boarded up, trash, and tall weeds in vacant lots. The carpet in the entrance and lobby area is bunched up in areas which I tripped on and taped together in spots.

Our room was good sized; we had a working frig, microwave, and coffee pot. I liked the separate counter area for putting on make-up with a large mirror outside the bathroom, which was a plus with 3 females. The bathroom lacked routine maintenance, the bathtub did not drain well, and the bathroom fan was noisy. The beds were ok but bring your own pillows.

One can walk to the downtown from the hotel and take in all the sights, which was nice, but would rather be closer to the downtown for convenience, as there is a significant homeless population, so I was not comfortable walking by myself, unless my roommates walked with me.

The hotel itself must rent out rooms to those with low income and to the elderly; at least they have decent shelter. Those inhabitants were polite, and several were not only very poor but had notable disabilities.

The staff was polite, and housekeeping visited the room daily bringing fresh towels and taking care of the trash, which I don't always see in the more expensive hotels, so that was a positive. It was quiet at least.

We came for the Derby.

Not a hotel. Homeless shelter.

Truth in advertising. This place looks rough from the outside. Doesn't get better inside. Required to check in with security before you can check in nowhere does it say that most of this building is a house less shelter and halfway house. Signs everywhere about being on surveillance. One floor is for travel sites.

This property hasn't been updated since it was built several decades ago. It's rundown and filthy.

I stayed only 1 of 3 nights. And only bc I was exhausted and the sheets were clean.

It's sketchy but the people there were kind.

I liked that it was only 4 minutes away from U of L Hospital which was very convenient for downtown Louisville area. McDonald was right across the road with a few another fast food in walking distance. The staff were very kind and friendly. The room was clean but needed some updates like USB ports for phone chargers. They offer hospital stay discounts but didn’t find out until we got there so will definitely be staying again.
