Check in was fine, but when I went to open the door to our room I found that someone was already in there! Had to go back to reception to get another room! Room was clean. Corridors were very noisy, which although is not necessarily the hotels fault, but one guy was sitting in the chair mid corridor from about 6:30 in the morning, my mum asked him politely to keep the noise down and he’s response was “shut the f up”. Tried to call reception but the phone didn’t work! Other than that was a good stay

Decent hotel in a good location. Good value for money, but rooms were a bit small and sound insulation was not good at all. The street around the hotel was very nice with lots of small restaurants etc. but also quiet (when I say sound insulation, I mean from other rooms in the hotel - you can hear a normal conversation from the hallway)

Cleaning service needs to improve

As soon as we arrived I have to ask bedsheets for the baby cot. Next morning I realized that the cot was extremely dirty under the mattress. Following day had again to ask to clean the bathroom. Cups for breakfast are not clean, marks of coffee and lipstick.

Lovely gem in a good quarter in Pest

What a lovely hotel in a lovely quarter in Budapest (Pest, actually). From the get go, the staff was super attentive and took care of our every need. I shall return, and stay much longer. I loved the terrace of my suite! It was the small details that kept the stay so wonderful.

I was genuinely surprised by the positive reviews for this hotel. This is one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in. The cleanliness was seriously lacking, with dust everywhere and an unpleasant smell coming from the bathroom. The shower was poorly maintained, causing water to spill out onto the floor, and it was clear that maintenance hadn't been done in a long time.
To make matters worse, there was no air conditioning for half a day and the entire night. The breakfast was terrible, and there were flies everywhere, making it an unappetizing experience. The only redeeming quality was the staff, who were friendly and helpful.
I strongly advise against staying at this hotel. It was truly a terrible experience.

Great hotel with comfortable rooms. Between 2 metro stations which are both about 5 - 10 minutes walk away. Lovely bakery opposite which does great pastries for breakfast (Manfred Pekseg), we only tried it 2 days before leaving or we’d have been every day during our week’s stay. Some great looking restaurants along the same street which were reasonably priced. Also recommend the Crafty Fox on the corner for wide selection of craft beers.

There is a reason this hotel is a little cheaper than other options available - avoid at all cost. On arrival to our room that we checked in for 5 nights, I found a bloody towel in my bathroom from a previous guest. I flagged this to reception and gave them the benefit of the doubt and just asked that all towels in the room be changed. Whilst waiting - I then proceeded to find blood sprayed all up the wall at the side of the bed which had not even been noticed let alone cleaned - i requested a move to another room (the manager sounded like this was an inconvenience to him!) and found that the new room was overall dirty too - toothpaste marks all over the walls in the bathroom etc - overall this hotel was dirty and in need of proper cleaning from staff.

In general, the staff were friendly and easy to approach. The room was clean, although relatively small. The biggest downside was the noise; 6am wake up calls from the cleaners on their phones outside the doors, couples with what seemed to be thin walls and sounds of people moving furniture (probably the cleaners in the other rooms). We could hear conversations from next door rooms.

The bedroom was advertised as a double, and that it was, but...

The bed was orientated sideways againts the wall with nothing at the head to prevent pillows from falling off.

This somewhat made the sleep uncomfortable, though the matress was very comfy.

Really nice staff but very very loud hotel. I spent 4 nights and had to move after the first night because I could hear the person in the room next to me snoring. The second night the guest next door to my new room was speaking on the phone loud enough for me to be able to hear the words he was saying. The third night, the same room next to me had the television on very loudly and the fourth, a group of teenagers were in the room next to me speaking very loudly. Can also hear showers from other rooms. Staff are very attentive and kind and will help when they can but they cannot soundproof rooms!

This is a clean, dated property that serves a purpose as nothing more than a very average 3-star hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful.

The rooms are tiny and whilst clean, are dated with marks on walls, chips off tiles and shower tray and a shower with a will of its own that wouldn’t stay pointed in the direction required due to worn fittings.

The room is so small that the only way to fit a double bed in is to put it under the small high-level window. The swivel TV is on the desk, thus reducing working space and the chair at the desk is very low, making any attempt to work difficult. The room was too hot and I wasn't able to work out how to reduce it (even in November). There are tea and coffee-making facilities in the room, but I did not use them,

Facilities in the hotel are extremely limited with a single bar that serves a hamburger and is a hummus specialty bar. I did not see anyone in there.

There are a number of restaurants around and I used Mezcal and Mandarin up the street (20€ and 10€ for a reasonable meal respectively). Breakfast is acceptable, but nothing special with limited hot food and the other usual minimal offerings to be expected at breakfast.

I would stay there again for convenience, price, and cleanliness, but with an appreciation of what to expect.

Good value for money. All you can eat breakfast also good value and plenty choice, need to get there early before all the pastries go. No croissants. Would rather the luxury extras be in the room, although free which was great, i had to ask at reception twice before finally getting slippers which you need cause the floors rather dusty. Good location, able to walk into centre easily. Bar always seemed to be closed no matter what time we got in. Dont want to be negative about the hotel cause we really enjoyed our stay there. As expected for the money we were paying. 😀

The hotel looks lovely from the outside and is even nicer inside. My room had plenty of space and it had everything in it that i needed. It was extremely clean and it was cleaned every day, with fresh towels and bedding. The reception staff were very warm and welcoming, also very helpful in telling us how to get to different places. The adjoining Hummusbar is lovely, very clean and bright, with a large variety of meals. The meals we had while there were all cooked to order and tasted so nice. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel and i will hopefully get chance to stay here again in the future.

Room provided on arrival was the smallest room I have ever seen in a hotel, room was also unclean, very dated and room/furniture looked very worn/tired. Reception, after much persuasion, offered us an alternative room, this was slightly bigger (could actually move in the room) but again not very clean, very dated and tired/worn. After notifying reception they said that there were no other rooms available and due to our booking with Expedia we were not able to cancel on the day, so could not have our money back and find another hotel. For our second night stay they provided a bigger room, but still the cleanliness and standard was the same as the other rooms. Other people at the hotel were also unhappy with rooms and were being moved to alternative rooms. Photos/descriptions on Expedia not accurate to reality. Breakfast has lots of options but quite average as to quality of food. Hotel is no where near a 4*, probably at best a 2*. Very disappointed.

Rooms are not as good as they look on pictures. Cleaners do not fully clean your room. Old and tacky and mouldy shower. Always very hot in room - stuffy. The level is a 2 star hotel. Good location close to metro.

The all stay was amazing.
the hotel locate not far from the center. threre are 2 metro station near the hotel (5 minutes walking).
the staff was welcoming. the answer to any question and help us find resurants, places and even taxi to the airport, allways with a smile (and even with some hebrew language).
the cleaning staff was pleasant and kind.
The food was very good (the lacho was amazing) and also the food at the humus bar and the staff were very good.
the room was big, worm and comfortable.

At our nest stay in budapest we will certainty stay at leonardo hotel.

Lovely hotel in a quiet area

We spent 5 days over August bankholiday weekend at the Hotel. The 24hour check in was great as we had a flight delay and only arrived after midnight. The Hotel is in a quiet area but not too far from the city centre. There is a good shopping centre a 5 min walk away, a Holocaust Memorial centre less than 5mins away, as well as being 5 mins from the sight seeing bus route. The breakfast options are good. The rooms are comfortable and comes with all the usual comforts you expect. I would highly recommend this Hotel for anyone wanting a city break in Budapest.

We went for the weekend and the hotel has a say access to everything in city centre. You can get a taxi for good price through hotel ordered by staff. Very nice park by hotel. Range of small bars and restaurants near hotel. Rooms are clean and hotel should be 5 star as it is very modern and has a very helpful profession staff who helped us and advised us every day . Who is Mr Javad talebian. And also his colleagues.

We stayed in the \"Comfort Room\" for 3 nights. I promise you, that room is anything but comfortable. If you have even just one suitcase, you'll find that you have no room to maneuver in the room at all. The bathroom is the same way; crammed beyond belief. The shower is tiny (looks bigger in picture from the fisheye lens they used to take the picture). It was clean, but the room was so uncomfortably small that we had to ask to upgrade to the 'Superior Room', which was just as the same describes, superior to the first. At least double the size. Couch and coffee table included. Plenty of room to relax and breathe. The bathroom was much better, though the shower was unchanged in size and shape. This bathroom had a buddae, but we didn't know how nor want to use it.
The hotel breakfast isn't cheap, and was personally not worth it. The scrambled eggs were wet and mushy, but I was able to find enough food to fill my belly and be on my way. Didn't go back again for the breakfast though.
The area is okay. If you're looking to tour around Budapest, you'll be needing to take transit into and out of the city. We walked a lot which was fine, but some people won't be able to walk that much. Definitely look into walking distances and times if you're stayimg here and going into the city.
All of the staff were phenomenal. Helpful and kind beyond words!

All in all, I would stay here again, but only in the Superior Room. Good for the price.

Uninspring hotel with little air conditioning

An uninspired hotel, that remind me of a 1970s state owned hotel, now move to the private sector. Rooms were clean and acceptable, although small and very hot. Location is quiet and ok, with easy access to the tram system.

The main problem was the lack of air in the rooms. The air con didn't work or was too noisy. The window opened slightly but the room was airless, and sleep was consequently poor. Room furnishings were positioned with no thought to the layout out of the room, thus making for a feeling of being cramped. Breakfast was ok - coffee poor and fresh fruit very poor.

We were return guests in Leonardo after staying here last year as well. But, we're not very impressed.
Upon check-in the receptionist nearly made me pay for the booking via credit card which HAS BEEN already paid on hotels.com - then he checked his screen again and realised I'm right and apologised.
The condition of the hotel hasn't changed much and it does need a refurbishment soon. Room 504 was missing a lamp cover on the wall, had broken kettle, and the toilet tank kept refilling itself non stop due to leakage (which was \"lovely\" to listen to all night). All these were mentioned upon our arrival to Front Desk who did just nothing else then a sticky note about them.
The room was not clean, marks on the wall, stains on the mirror and fingerprints on the wardrobe glasses. The room windows open widely (even no safety lock), but we could only leave them open 1 night when several bugs found their way into the property and the waste collection took place at 5.40am in front of the building too.
After having worked in hospitality myself in London was expecting that a returning guest would get some sort of reward for their loyalty like a discount, a free dinner in house or an upgrade, but neither of these were offered. Maybe introduce these in the future - just a feedback.
Housekeeping didn't refill any tea or coffee for our room during the 3 night stay.
Cable TV was included, wide range of channels.

Transportation links made it easy to get around Budapest from the hotel.

Tried to make me pay for non-existent breakfast :/

Went to stay with my girlfriend. Budapest is a stunning city and one of the best I've ever been to, would highly recommend. This hotel however, I wouldn't recommend. We came during a heat wave therefore needed to stay cool during the night. The room itself was great - spacious, clean, quiet. BUT the air conditioning didn't work. Took us hours to get to sleep - when I went and told the lady at reception she didn't believe me. Had to complain even more and suggest she send someone up to check again. Security came and confirmed. We were then upgraded and have a new room with breakfast included. We finally had a working air conditioner finally but with one big problem - it constantly leaked water. The wardrobe was placed in an awkward area of the room and when looking for plugs it was easy to see why. The paint from the wall was falling off from all the leaking water - which was where a plug socket also was. The floor wasn't carpet, it was wood which made it very slippery with the leaking water. Finally, when I checked out I had to pay a city tax (which I knew about) but then the upgraded breakfast too. I told the gentleman it was supposed to be included and we didn't use it anyway. He then told me we signed to pay for it and when he showed me the signature it turned out to be neither mine nor my girlfriends as proven from our passports. After some time they finally didn't charge for breakfast but I am pretty disappointed with the service. Not a 4.5 star at all - not happy really

Very impressed with the hotel's staff - friendly and helpful at all times - and with the value for money for the room and the breakfast. Room was a little small, but comfortable, very clean, and with enough room for clothes and suitcases.

Good links to cheap and efficient local public transport - it's possible to walk to the main tourist spots from the hotel, but probably around 45 minutes if strolling, so we used Metro and trams. I'd advise people to use the ferry for a view from the river of both Buda and Pest - the ferry boats are 'no frills' but were free with the local travelcard

Would recommend the hotel.

Stayed here for 3 nights early march, the rooms are extremely spacious and comfortable. The hotel has a great location with lots of bars shops and restaurants within walking distance, close to public transport but we actually walked into the main part of town every day as it wasn't far at all, about a 20 minute walk to the gelert baths and central market, 40 minutes to the castle. Right by the river as well. Staff were very helpful and polite. Would recommend to anyone

BKK Transport office at Ferenc Liszt airport allowed purchase of single Ticket( covering MTB ) that one could use & validate over 30 day period.

Great base for exploring Budapest. Very helpful reception staff. Stayed in Comfort room which was fine , some would have missed coffee ! Food in Hummus Bar very good 😀

lovely hotel, lovely staff, not best bed.

Loved the hotel and staff however was a little disappointed we had booked a double room and although we had a double bed we only had two single duvets which was never mentioned to us when we booked otherwise the hotel is lovely!

Central and easy to get yo trams and metro

Great stay in a bustling city.
The hotel was close to the metro and trams so easy to get around.
The Hummus Bar in the hotel was good, good excellent and staff attentive.
No coffee or tea in the rooms which was x bit disappointing.

Bad room condition infrastracture

The condition of the room was not that good. There shower have no shade so all water is getting out, also shower is folded due to bad condition of water infrastracture.
Also rooms are not isolated at all, so you can hear almost every single noise and can't sleep.

Reasonable location, 2 star quality

We booked a comfort room. What we got resembles an old 2 star small old and not well maintained room, small outdated broken shower cabin, small towells, no cosmetics, etc. totally diffrent than what they advertise and show you in the photos. Only after we spent two nights and we complained and subject to availability we were upgraded to what they called 'a superior room'. Again, not what you would really expect from such category but a bit better then the first room we got. The hotel needs to undergo substaintial renovation before it can call itself a 4 star hotel.

Get What you pay for

Was an ok place. I heard other rooms were smaller. Shower was in tiny tub with no curtain so bath got really wet. Elevator worked, staff was friendly. Breakfast was not the greatest. On the morning I left 3 people apparently had their passport/purse stolen. There is a metro station a few blocks one direction, tram a few the other. Good places to eat all around. More of a local neighbor hood than tourist area, although, due to cost I think a lot of bus tours stay here.

Nice with a few flaws that I couldn't overlook

Took my girlfriend to this hotel for a surprise weekend. I booked us a double superior room but I wasn't expecting this hotel to be the Ritz.

When we arrived everything was nice until we got to the room and found the double room we have booked had 2 singles beds in it. Not a problem, I popped downstairs to ask if they could remedy this as I've worked in a hotel before and understand this can happen.

They sent someone up and he pushed the two beds together & left - I could have done that myself. So I pop down to reception, the staff on reception become ruder this time and tell me bluntly that they don't have any other rooms, they don't have any double duvets and there's nothing they can do so I should just go back to my room.

Shocked, I called Expedia but there was nothing they could do. We got in bed to hear the toilet leaking & refilling every 5 minutes. It wasn't great - luckily I know where the stop tap is so I turned the water off & went to bed.

The next day Expedia assured me that the staff would move our belongings to a new room that was in keeping with what we had booked. When we returned the desk staff member informed me nothing had been done & that I should have spoken to him first, when I told him I had tried to speak to the staff at the beginning - he said it doesn't matter, it was all a bit awkward.

Then he gave us a new room, this was nice clean and exactly what we wanted the first night. We only stayed 2 nights, but I wont be returning again.

Great location and good reception just noisy rooms

The location is very good with a short walk to the trams & metro which enable easy access to the city.
The only criticism we have was the noisy rooms. Constant chair scraping across wooden floors and the walls were so thin you could plainly hear people next door and when they flushed the toilet we thought it was ours!
Shame as the rest of the hotel was good

Nice hotel out from the city centre

This hotel is in a quiet district of the city away from the centre. The nearby Klinikak metro stop is only a 5 minute walk away so getting into the city centre was really easy. There is a small collection of restaurants nearby - a burger place directly opposite the hotel, Indian and French which all serve great food. I didn't try any Hungarian cuisine as I was in Budapest for a half marathon and didn't want to risk an iffy stomach the day before (for those of you interested, I didn't PB as the hot weather got the better of me but the support from locals was superb!). The 10 euro breakfast is the standard affair of fruit counter, cereal and cooked meats - I tried it once and that was enough. The next morning I went to a nice cafe just around the corner, opposite the CBA supermarket, and had the most amazing strudel I have ever tasted. In summary, if you're super hungry and want to stuff yourself before a busy day sightseeing then go for the hotel buffet breakfast but if you're after some great tasting food and don't mind paying a bit extra check out the local cafes nearby.

This Hotel is converted from a large building to the present Hotel. As a result, many room interiors are having awkward unnecessary and disturbing building details - unlike the nice picture displayed on their site. We agreed to accept a room, only after 3 trials. The service and the breakfast is satisfactory, and the surrounding area is nice with many small eateries and shops, but the nearest public transportation station is quite far away. We will not select this Hotel again.

Travelling with teenagers

Family trip with teenagers, made use of good transport links using metro and trams. Enjoyed the baths and ruin bars, we will return to Budapest, still a lot to do and see

I only stayed for a night including a late check in. Wished I would stay longer. Totally surprised by the comfort, spaciousness, professionalim of late check in by staff. My only experience was sleeping, waking up and leaving before check out but it looks good.
