Check in instructions provided by Expedia were unclear but staff were very helpful when contacted. The room was as expected but there were a few issues, such as: the shower room had a strong drain smell, a plug socket was broken so the lamp didn’t work, the bathroom light didn’t work and neither did the kitchen one. There was also a lot of dirt at the side of the bed and a ‘sticky gel substance…’ on the bedside shelf. The hallway lights did not come on so at night coming back it was very dark. If we were staying for more time we would have asked for a change of room but with the time we had and the fact that there’s no-one on site to speak to we decided it was easiest to stay with the room we had. The bed was comfortable and the apartment was generally very clean apart from the few missed areas and drain smell. I would come back, but would hope that these issues would be addressed.

The location is great as there is a metro and tramps just around the corner from the apartment. The actual apartment is fine and equipped with all that is needed. When we first walked in we smell cigarette smoke which was not pleasant. We believe it came from the outside balconies. There is also a mall a few steps away which was very convenient for groceries and ahopping.

We got the room late. The contact man wasn't answering at all. After we got the key for the room, we found out that the cleaning lady was still cleaning there, so we kindly asked her to just leave it like that. We were waiting outside for almost 6 hours. The AC was leaking, the bed was broken, and there were no right towels.

This was our third time we stayed at this place for the last three years. We stayed at Superior 1Bedroom apartment, enough for 4 people. Rooms always clean and spacious, and has everything we need for 3-4 nights - iron with ironing board, bedding, towels, shower gel, soap, hair drier. Central heating. Kitchen was fully equipped with all you need if you wish to cook. Fridge was very clean, washing machine.. It was quite during our stay.
It' easy to get to/from airport on Express bus 100E, bus top very near.
If we ever back to Budapest, we would stay here again.

Sofa was dirty. Broken doors across entire apartment. Refused to replace them. No sink in toilet. Shower was 75cm high to climb with no mirror for height of kids. No cleaning (only after 4 days). Terrible selection. Does not look like any pictures or description in Expedia. Probably 2 star and claims to be 4 star apart-hotel. This community building has no design whatsoever, dark with no lights in entrance at night. We left before with partial refund, and upgrade to different place. Totally terrible.

The Vagabond Corvin was excellent value for the money. A 15-20 minute walk to the tourist areas. The apartment itself was very much as advertised. No complaints. It’s not, and doesn’t pretend to be a five star hotel. Perfect for our needs. The company was excellent to deal with and I would definitely recommend.

There was nobody at the door to
Meet us when we arranged for a meeting at noon. Nobody showed us how to unlock the door. A neighbor did. Tried to use the washing machine but there were no instructions so the clothes did not spin or dry. We had to travel with wet clothes in a big plastic bag. Checked in about an hour early by a very pleasant young
person and room was ready to be occupied. The apartment is spacious for Budapest standards. All of the basics were there, however it was soulless. No pictures , no rugs or carpets. The walls are in the hallway need of a good lick of paint and there was a hole in the bedroom door. The sofa bed when used as a sofa is most uncomfortable and has some dreadful stains on it.
In my view if they had a minor upgrade and made it look like the photos it would make a huge difference.

Overall we were very impressed with the apartment as it was simple but tastefully decorated. Very clean and had everything we needed. We stayed for 5 nights.

The check in/out process was very easy with them sending you an email with all the various codes needed for the keys and doors.

Apartment feels very safe as there are various gates and cctv set ups. The complex is in a very good position with transport links (metro/trams/buses) to just about anywhere you want to go. Even though there was a replacement bus service for the M3 metro while we were there, it shocked me how frequent these were.

There are several supermarkets within walking distance including an Aldi and a prima just on the corner. (I highly recommend the prima for its pastries which were amazing 👌)

My only negative with regard to the apartment would be the comfort of the bed and the sofa bed. They were a little bit thin if you get me and the bed was quite low down as well. Only a minor thing though.

Also I'm not sure if the complex is shared with other companies like Vagabond or other permanant residents but unfortunately the person above us was incredibly loud almost every night and until stupid hours as well. I can hardly attribute this to the quality of the apartment though or the service of Vagabond.

All in all a very pleasant stay and would recommend Budapest to anyone as it is a great city with so much culture and character. 🙂

Rug has spots on it in living room/ pls offer a few k-cups or nespresso for number of people staying and night. It would have been nice to have a cup in the morning. Also a small batch of laundry detergent. Loved the terrace and A/C, bed was really comfy.

Loved the apartment it’s self! The decor was lovely and seem to just have all the little things you need! Even a nice little balcony. Plenty of shops near by, location was perfect for us; not to far to travel to see all the things you want to see and experience but also just to the side of all the hustle and bustle. People were amazing and friendly! We miss ‘noonoo’ the dog in the office already! So cute! And over all this place massively added to our stay in Budapest! Two main tips I can think of right now for Budapest! Lime electric scooters are the best way to get around if the weathers good and you don’t want to spend much money. Did the whole city on them. And go to Gellert Baths between 6-7am if your brave enough to get up at that time on your holiday! We basically had the place to our selves!

We stayed in a superior apartment, the apartment was clean and everything is provided. The tv has a usb input so you can bring your own media to watch, it also had Netflix (log into your own account) which was very useful. This would be my best tip especially if travelling with kids because there are literally only 3 channels in English news and MTV.
The staff were very friendly and any issues they resolved promptly. There was only the 2 of us but there was extra bedding and towels in the wardrobe. We stayed for a week and the cleaners came mid way through our stay. They also allowed us to leave our luggage there on our departure day so we could make the most of our time in Budapest!

Our only issues were the WiFi was occasionally patchy but this didn’t stop Netflix from working and we had data on our phones to fall back on.
Also with the apartments being partially residential and being apartments we were woken at 7.30am each morning to chairs being dragged along the floor from the apartment above. This is not a problem if you’re use to living in a apartment and if you time your bedtime around this! Other than that we didn’t hear the neighbours, the walls between the apartments are thick concrete.

All in all we were very happy with our stay and we would stay here again.

It’s a very nice place, excellent central location, safe, easy access to metro. What I didn’t like is that we didn’t get what we had reserved. Had confirmed for 2, twin beds - got one big bed. There was a lumpy pull out couch that had to be used - not the bed sleep that was booked. Since we checked in later - there was no chance to complain... we were there for one night.

Great apartment, large and has everything you need: washing machine, kitchen and seperate bedroom. The only downside would be the shower in the bathroom. The shower head is over the bath however no glass and no shower curtain. Our shower head would never stay in position and resulted in water going everywhere over the bathroom. Was difficult to shower, they are aware of this though as they provide a mop and mop bucket in the bathroom. The staff were extremely friendly and gave excellent recommendations, close to tram and metro.

I traveled to Budapest with my wife and 3 children and we enjoyed our stay at Vagabond Corvin. The staff was professional and courteous, the premises were clean. The apartment was comfortable and spacious, well maintained, well equipped, had a balcony and AC. They have parking on site and airport shuttle available. The location was also great, close to a subway stop and not far from the city center. We'll definitely stay there again in the future.

Vagabond Corvin is very well located for tourists looking to use public transportation. The unit had a very spacious layout for a 1-bedroom apartment and was well equipped for a group of 4. Really great apartments, very spacious with a kitchen and even a washing machine, very clean and the lady at reception was really really great so friendly and gave such great advise on where to explore.

It’s about a 45 min walk from town which may seem a lot but it’s so pretty so you don’t mind walking it, the hop on hop off bus picks you up about a 2 min walk from the hotel.

Such a good experience will definitely stay here again if I visit Budapest again.

I spent 3 nights at Vagabond Corvin and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The apartments have great location. There is a supermarket right at the doorstep and you may easily get literally everywhere. Budapest has a superb public transport but you can walk for your sightseeing too it does indeed worth it.
My apartment was spacious, light, warm,sparkling clean and well equipped for me just because I didn't want to cook.
I had a little surprise at check-in as I had to pay 10.00 Euros for cleaning which was originally included in my booking even my welcome pack said so. I believe that it was rather a tourism tax which I actually knew about but the receptionist seemed very incompetent to me and therefore her attitude was confusing and very disappointing. However my extremely pleasant stay made me forget about this disappointment very soon. I will definitely stay at vagabond Corvin next time again when I will travel to Budapest which I do often.

Over all a nice place to stay. The kitchen was not very well stocked. The apartment we stayed in slept 6 people. There were only 4 chairs at the table and only 2 wine classes in the cabinet. No towels of any kind in the kitchen, only one sponge to wash dishes with. Not sure what they expect you to dry your hands or dishes with.

Great penthouse 2 bedroom apt! Close to many attractions by foot.
Clean. Could use a few dishwasher cubes, washer cubes and a wash cloth for dishes. A bit noisy on the weekend but manageable. The beds were okay but creaked with the wooden slat frame. With glass wall around the upper bathroom, toilet you could hear others doing their business. Overall a great apartment in a great location.

They gave me a lower type of room than what I prepaid for citing that they were already \"fully booked\" despite me informing them before hands that I will be arriving late on check-in date. The lower room had no AC (unlike what I paid for) and I hardly managed to sleep even though they gave me a fan due to the heat wave at the time. They offered me a free ride to the airport but the damage to my sleep and hence my performance at a short business trip was already done. Also there was a foul odour from the sinks in the bathroom and it was pretty bad. I doubt I will come back unless they give me guarantees.

Hidden fees, run-down apartments, DISAPPOINTMENT

After reading the other reviews, this hotel was a great disappointment.
- They have tried to charge 4% fee for paying in credit card, although it didn't appear in the reservation (and they did it for every single person tried to checked in). This is outrages.
- The reception is open only for limited hours and not 24-hours as advertised
- All IKEA-only furnitures in the two apartments we have booked are run down. Some with cigarette burns. There are even holes in the inner doors as if someone use an hammer to knock them down...
- Unfriendly stuff (to say the least). We had to wait with three little babies after a long flight for one hour until they were able to \"waive\" the 4% fee - although naturally they had our credit cards and we could have stayed there for four nights...
- Only one small a/c in the living room, making all other bedrooms really hot (we arrived in August)
- No (or not enough) cribs (if you are planning on using one)

In summary: AVOID this place. There are much better options in Budapest.

We were a party of 7, so we got two 2-bedroom apartments. One of them did not come with air conditioning even though both should have had air-conditioning as per hotels.com specs, they were full and did not have another room for us to move to. We were offered a 15% discount but this never materialised. Front desk found some fans for us but it was still disappointing. Toilet/bathrooms could not be locked. Bathtub was VERY slippery. Location was good though, and the place was quite clean, and furnishings were modern.

The room was amazing. I had a 'Superior Apartment' which was very nicely furnished with a full kitchen (with plates, pots, silverware, stove, kettle, etc.). The AC worked very well. The only downside to the room was that the drywall had marks everywhere from when furniture scratched them. Of course, this is purely cosmetic and didn't effect the functionality of anything. The bathroom shower was incredible. I'm from the US where water basically dribbles out of the shower faucet. The front door can only be locked (from both the inside and outside) if you have the key which makes me concerned about what happens during a fire. Housekeeping was knocking one day and I couldn't find the key so I couldn't open the door while I frantically searched for the key for 5 minutes. After this, I just left the key in the lock whenever I was in the room. Having a washer in the unit was really nice.

My flight landed in Budapest around 10pm so the office was closed by the time I got to the hotel, but I emailed the office a few days before hand and they sent me self check in instructions via email which worked very well. So checking in wasn't an issue. My only complaint is that there isn't any street lighting around the front gate and the area looks mildly sketchy at night.

The area the hotel is in is nice. There's a mall and grocery store a block away, the metro and tram station is also a block away.

Great Place BUT I Will Not Return

Great place to stay, it really is, but I would not select this hotel again. The short version is that there is major construction underway that starts early, and I mean early, in the morning. I requested and received a room change away from the front of the apartment. I left a designer pullover in the first room and as bad luck would have it, housekeeping did not return it.

Great place but I did not want housekeeping cleaning after this incident so my advice would be, rent here only if you opt out of housekeeping. For the record, I absolutely hate writing this but feel compelled to do so.

Nice apartments but noisy and unfinished.

We arrived late at night and had to wait quite a while to be seen but the girl on was very pleasant and spoke good English . We were on the 6th floor so away from traffic but could hear the builders in the next apartment drilling from 8.00 the next morning! The noise did not abate until 6 in the evening so we did not want to open the windows as this made the noise worse. The next morning there was no hot water for a shower so not very pleasant. We had also noticed that the light in the dressing room next to the bedroom area was flickering and there were no bedside lamps. We checked the photos and realised that the apartment was just not finished. There were wires hanging from the velux windows and two doors were missing. We went and spoke to the receptionist and only after 24 hours did we speak to the manager who came up to the apartment and said as far as he was concerned all was well but if the shower water was erratic we could shower in an alternative apartment. We were very disappointed and just made the best of what we had and it was a shame because the apartment was really well designed and could have been fab but for being unfinished!!!

Apartment Stay

Modern, clean apartments close to the Metro station and trams. We found the location ideal. The apartments are minimally equiped, no tea towel, no toilet paper holder but they are adequate for a short stay. They were very noisy during the day as there still seemed to be work going on. However, outside work hours they were very quiet. They were very secure and we always felt very safe.

clean accomodation 10 mins walk from the central B

Unfortunately there was restoration happening in the building opposite so noisy from 7.00am onwards! Immediate area fairly scruffy but only a short walk to the centre. Appartement staff helpful and friendly.They arranged airport transport and sent good details for self check in. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

Spacious modern Penthouse family suite

Our family of 4 loved the apartment and outdoor patio. It was our first time in Budapest and the location was great. Most atractions can be accessed by public transportation (metro & tram are close). The nearby mall includes a large grocery store. The staff at the front desk were very helpful with booking sight-seeing tours. The hop on hop off bus provides an excellent highlight of Budapest.

Nice apartment hotel near the metro

We enjoyed our stay at the Vagabond. It's a new building, the wifi was very good, finishes and decor are quite nice, security is also good. We stayed in a Superior Studio, These do not have dryers, so you have to request a drying rack. Also, no dishwasher, but we normally wash dishes by hand. All in all, a great stay. Would definitely stay there again and recommend.

No AC and it was very hot. Water was all over the floor for bathroom and living room after I took my shower. There was no level difference for shower area, nor doors. The kitchen facilities seems nice but I didn't use it.

The pictures were not really accurate. It was newer but very plain and not very cozy. The bed and pillows were uncomfortable and we were not able to get any extra pillows. The washer was good and they did offer us free detergent to use. Close to transit and grocery store which was good. Reception nice.
