We enjoyed our stay at Laguna Hills Lodge much more than we expected. I was initially a little nervous because the staff did not seem very approachable during check-in, but thankfully that first impression did not reflect the rest of our experience.
The property is beautiful, with vibrant flowers, lush landscaping, and a peaceful, oasis-like atmosphere. It ended up being one of our favorite hotel stays in a long time.
The location was fantastic. We were close to Laguna Beach, Crystal Cove, and several restaurants, including In-N-Out, Chick-fil-A, Raising Cane’s, and Farmer Boys. Traveling with a 7- and 10-year-old, I felt safe walking with them to these restaurants, and the hotel was visible from most of them. We loved being close to everything while avoiding the beach traffic and noise.
Our room was clean and comfortable, and the hotel felt safe throughout our stay. We also appreciated having access to Netflix on the TV, which made evenings easier with kids.
The pool, landscaping, and overall atmosphere honestly made us enjoy this property more than some Best Western and Hilton stays we've had. The only downside was the breakfast. While there were some good cereal options, the selection and quality were not appealing to my picky 7-year-old or to me as an adult.
Despite that, everything else was wonderful. I would absolutely recommend Laguna Hills Lodge to families looking for a clean, safe, relaxing, and conveniently located place to stay.

Shower had a drip when set to the handheld shower. Edge drain on the shower is inside the position of the shower curtain, causing water to get into the main bathroom floor.

Room was clean and tidy, comfortable bed. Breakfast was good, pool was nice but crowded.

The building looks well kept, the room was clean. No ice machine in my building, I asked the front desk and one staff didn't even know that there was no ice machine there, and they didn't offer to get some for me. I know I could walk to another building, but it was inconvenient. The fridge in the room was turned off at first (I know they do it to save energy, but again, it's inconvenient) and the door was hard to open. Garden was nice but small and the view from the patio was more like a building/parking view rather than a garden view. The bed was on a harder side, perfect for me but not my wife's preference. The breakfast was just OK, wish they had a few more items like vegetables or yogurt. Overall it was a very basic hotel and missed a few nice touches that many higher-tier hotels offer.

This was a fantastic stay for the price point. Has such beautiful well maintained gardens throughout the property which made it feel high class! Very spacious and loved the separate vanity area outside the bathroom to facilitate multiple people. Each building has its own breakfast room which was so nice.
Unfortunately my room had a strong musky/mildew/smoke odor. I considered asking to be moved but wasn’t sure that it was worth the hassle once we’d settled in.
The location is in walking distance to many great places to eat and shop. Would definitely consider returning for a future stay.

We were talking about how California residents are so friendly because random people would come up to us and start chatting- until I checked in here. The girl at the front desk seemed to loathe her job. The property and room were nice. The first night we were going to sleep and someone opened our door and said the worker just checked her into that room. It was almost 10 pm. Then at 10:30, dozing off, the front desk called to tell me they had a glotch in the system and it booked both of us in the same room and I'd need to get my key card activated in the morning. The worker the next day told me the previous worker typed the wrong room number in for the other guest. The bed and pillows were comfortable but the first day we had a wolf spider in our room and after I woke up the first morning I had a spider on my arm. The breakfast was different each day which was nice but one morning I found moldy bread and I told the attendant and she just kept all the bread that was touching it in the box. We stayed 4 nights and I put the maid card out for new towels and a room clean and came back to no towels or clean room. I had to call and request my room be cleaned the next day. Other than those issues, it was a good room, pretty Grounds, and good location. Besides being across from the fire station.

Some rooms have carpeting and others have hard wooed floors. Our fridge was not cold enough to store leftovers. The courtyard was did not look the same as in the pictures. In reality there was less of beautiful pictures that were previously posted. The continental breakfast was not great. The hotter breakfast items, likes eggs and bacon did not look appetizing. However the staff was welcoming and there was ample parking.

Would definitely continue to book stays for this property. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Rooms are a nice size, parking is free and not a problem. Nice location; gas stations, food and quick access to the 5 Freeway. Breakfast was good, quick and easy. The only thing I would suggest is to maybe change your breakfast hours to 6:30 to 9:30 or 6:30 to 10:30. My work schedule begins at 7am so I am not able to take advantage of breakfast (my partner can and has). We've had no problems at all and we frequently stay here. Keep up the great job LHL !!!

Breakfast was not very good, the quality of the food was terrible, but the staff did a great job of keeping the room clean and well stocked. The gardens are beautiful but are in need of some care. The rooms are great and the beds are comfortable and clean. The location is excellent with many nearby restaurants within walking distance. Lots of free parking.

The staff were very helpful at checkin. They gave us a quiet room which was appreciated. Breakfast was good, sausage and eggs, cereal, fruit, yogurt, and a bagel and toast. The eating area was very clean and pleasant with sufficient dining area. The room was spacious and well maintained.

First of all, the staff were excellent!
I also appreciated that the parking was convenient. Those are 5 out of 5.

Unfortunately, the room had a very strong perfumey smell when I arrived. I tried to air it out, but it was so strong that my bags and clothes absorbed some of that smell :(

There was also a foul smell at the bathroom sink, which seemed to be coming from the drain. So I’m guessing the perfumey smell was to help mask the other smell.

The wooden furniture was really dusty, (to the point where it was visibly noticeable), so I cleaned the surfaces I wanted to use.

The bed and most of the bathroom were fine, and the staff members I met when checking in and out were excellent. However, the odors and dust have me thinking I wouldn’t want to come back. I didn’t try the breakfast.

Staff at check in and checkout counter were excellent.
Room service hangar should be left on the door handle and a note put on the inside on the door saying if you need your room cleaned don’t forget to put this on the outside on your door .

Aloof man there at the front desk staff. Good subpar. If you kosher/Halal, good luck changing their rules about mixing pork with eggs with one spatula. I told three people 4 times about it and they discounted my requests and suggestions. I will involve health department in that so they learn a lesson and that every food must have each own spoon. Door for my room didn’t close at all. Highly don’t recommend!

I enjoyed my stay at the Laguna Hills Lodge. I did not take advantage of the pool, the breakfast or other amenities as I was visiting family in town and was away from the hotel for most of the time. The room was clean and updated with some modern touches, while the building did show its age with some architectural details. My small 2nd floor patio overlooked the beautiful garden courtyard, which is a great touch. The hotel and other guests were quiet and I could barely hear the nearby freeway. The bed was comfy and the wifi worked well when I had to check in with the office. I would certainly return on my next trip to visit with family in Southern California.

This was the second time we stayed here. While we liked our room location, the actual room needs updating. The sink wouldn’t drain properly, toilet was wiggly, the carpet needs to be changed or washed badly. Breakfasts were decent. Staff were friendly.

We enjoyed our stay at The Laguna Hills Lodge. The family room includes comfortable chairs and coffee table that was the gathering spot for my family, and it did not feel like it’s just a hotel room. The bathtub in the bathroom had shower-head. The beds were comfortable, and our room included foldable couch. My favourite sport at Laguna Hills was the garden where we made quiet a few family pictures during our stay.

rude staff not wanting to address the issues that we were concerned about, this place evidently is an extended stay property with regular tennants sitting out in their vehicles while their diesel engines were running getting drunk, smoking weed and just stared at us as they were parked right in front of our door....looked like weirdos on crack. we had other family members in a room two doors down that could no longer stand being stared at like zoo amimals and dealing with with the weed and the engines running so they had to leave and took a room at another location saying to us that they walked accross the floor one time and their socks were black from the lack of cleaning and the air conditioner sounded like a growling dog. I could say more but I am sure that whoever reads this will get the point...

First complaint is the man outside the room playing loud music and drinking in his truck, once I brought up to front desk, was told he is a regular and because its daytime, they can't do anything about it, after the complaint he turned on his diesel truck and had to
listen to that. It was a Friday and I was in for a family reunion on Saturday and so I was stuck otherwise I would of left!! The only good thing about this room was it was a good size room everything else was disgusting the table between the beds was sticky the dresser had dried dirt on the side panel, the refrigerator had rust in the inside and on the wire shelves. The shower head looked rusted the walls and door in the bathroom had dirt and rust stains. The air conditioner sounded like an animal was trying to claw its way out, had to turn off it was so loud. The room was booked 2 nights, and I canceled the second night and find another hotel. Please check room before moving any suite cases in Trashy place and staff no help!! Do not RECOMMEND

Got to the room air conditioner would not stay on.went back to office, response was “hit the button twice”. There should be instructions saying hit the on button twice to turn on!!!? Really.!
Phoned office to request fresh towels…
They never arrived. Instruction stated if you require maid service, put the door hanger out on door knob. There was no door hanger available.

The accommodations are modest but adequate. My room was clean and had everything we needed-and also had a microwave and fridge. The bathroom was a bit tight. They had a really nice continental breakfast included. And the also had a pool and sauna I didn’t use. Overall great quality for the price right in Laguna hills!
