The only downside was parking. The nearest parking lot to our room was a decent walk up a steep hill. If you have mobility issues, please check on the parking arrangements for your specific room you book.

We stayed 6 nights May 20th-26, 2026.
The Pacific Edge Restaurant on site was very nice; expect to pay $100 or so for a nice breakfast for 3.
Housekeeping very poor; house keeper spilled her coffee apparently on our landing inside and out and I stepped in it and tracked in; sticky sweeten coffee with cream apparently. Also, multiple days we were left without towels, called housekeeping and no answer, called front desk who didn’t seem to care as we never received towels, went to front desk to share dissatisfaction around 7:00p on our last night and received towels sometime through the middle of the night. Also housekeeping did not leave coffee pods (upon arrival there were 4) one day house keeper left one when all 4 used, another day 2 left when all 4 used, another day 0.

Gardens in the front of property full of flowers! However we were in a suite with patio area outside our bedroom and living area. Weeds in planters, no flowers as was the case elsewhere, yard trash, cigarette butts. Also multiple people on multiple evenings used the lounge back door to enter our patio space to talk, take pics, mill around. Would have preferred a sign at the stairs that said “private area, no entry” as we were having romantic evenings and felt like we had to tell people “this is our honeymoon suite”. Most people got the gist but some did not, some had to chase their kids out of our patio, no supervision.

While our room had a fantastic coastal view it was strangely missing a bedside table and light on one side - there is nowhere to buy any snacks or sundries - no little store at all on the property - which staff said they are asked about all the time.
The property is tricky to get around -it’s steep - lots of stairs and not very conducive to exploring.
The sunsets are spectacular:)

Our room was clean and tidy. The bathroom was a bit dark and needed some TLC . The hot tub and pool were nice. The property lay out is a bit confusing. They told us where our room was, but not how to get there. It was down a lot of stairs and that is difficult with luggage. Overall it was a nice stay, but for the money I probably won't return.

The grounds were beautiful-lots of stairs! The staff was very friendly. We did have some issues with our room-heater didn’t work, dead bolt was broke! Sink didn’t drain and we were w/o one for half a day. Maintenance did come and worked on it-which caused a sewage smell in our room.
When I checked out I informed the front desk of these issues. The employee I spoke with said he was going to talk to the manager and see if any adjustments could be made. He would text me with the information before my card was charged! I never heated from him agsin. I followed up twice by leaving messages and ZERO ACKNOWLEDGEMENT. It really wasn’t about the money but a call back andvir follow up would have been the right thing to do! I will never stay again…

I’m usually pretty easygoing with hotels, and I’m used to them being at least reasonably quiet, but the walls and ceilings here were unbelievably thin. You could hear every single footstep from the room above, including constant walking and stomping late into the night. Between that and the smoke detector flashing a bright light every 30 seconds directly into the room, it was extremely difficult to get any sleep. I’ve honestly never experienced noise this bad at a hotel before.

The check-in process was also frustrating. After getting our room keys from the front desk, we were sent to another desk to get a parking pass. That second stop turned into a timeshare sales pitch where we had to repeatedly say no just to get the parking pass we actually came for. It felt very pushy and honestly left a bad first impression, especially considering how much we were already paying to stay there.

The restaurant experience was equally disappointing. We walked up for breakfast and politely asked if there was availability for two people. The response we got, very coldly, was: “$130 per person, with mandatory gratuity.” That didn’t even answer the question we asked, and the interaction made us feel completely unwelcome. We ended up leaving and spending that same $130 per person at another restaurant where we were actually treated like guests instead of inconveniences.

One smaller complaint is that the TVs are not smart TVs. After long days out, it would’ve been nice to relax and watch Netfl

Everything was lovely. I enjoed this getaway for a few days to myself. I kept up my workout routine in the gym. The drinks were delicious and strong (3-5p) is happy hour so you get 30% off on top of the 10-15% discount you get if you're staying. Also, There's wine tasting on Wednesdays and that was awesome (I finished mine overlooking the ocean and sunset on my private balcony). The food is delicious here. Didn't care for the clam chowder too much, but the halibut and the roast on the plantain dish was delicious lol The only thing I was underwhelmed about was no room service and the spa's(jacuzzis) there onsite. But, Highly recommend and i'll be back.

The room has a 4-star hotel vibe, but the ocean view completely won me over—I absolutely loved it.

Their restaurant is nice, and the ocean view is beautiful, but the food itself was just average.

Unfortunately, there was one incident that left me disappointed. I lost my umbrella from the umbrella stand—someone took it on a rainy day. I couldn’t believe this happened at Hyatt.

I reported it right away, but I was told that items left in public areas are not their responsibility. They did try to make it right in the end, but the umbrella had sentimental value, so it was still upsetting.

Just a heads-up to be careful with your belongings.

Our experience was extremely disappointing for three reasons. First the property, which is quite old, has not been well maintained. The word I would use to describe our room is \"shabby.\" Pretty shocking at this price point. Second, the management and service levels are below par. The primary draw of the property is the ocean view, meaning the property is located on a sloped hillside. That means stairs and distant parking lots. We arrived at night and no assistance or explanation was offered other than a map handed to us at the front desk. Finding our room in the dark was in no way intuitive.Seriously, at these prices? Finally, we were subtly pitched on the timeshare which co-exists on the propery. Tacky.

This was our “splurge” hotel for our trip. The guy at the front desk was not friendly. Other staff were friendly. The restaurant was closed on tuesdays for dinner. Really? You have this amazing resort and you close the restaurant?? We arrived early and planned to use some amenities while waiting on our room to be ready. Went to the spa to inquire. The doors were locked and there was a number on the door to text, so I did and never heard back. Overall, not happy with our stay. I wouldn’t spend the money at this hotel. Stay in Carmel and visit this place for lunch if you want to see it.

The resort is in the best location with breathtaking 180 degree views of the dramatic pacific coast. The room was clean and very comfortable with a cozy fireplace. The onsite restaurant and lounge are excellent choices for dining breakfast, lunch, or dinner while gazing at the incredible ocean views along Big Sur. I loved my stay here!

We chose this hotel for its location and were not disappointed. It is very close to point lobos, downtown Carmel, and 17 mile drive. The views were really spectacular. We wanted a pool--so staying in a cute little inn in downtown Carmel or something wasn't really for us. So this hotel checked those boxes. I typically really love Hyatts as well, but this one probably has seen better days. Few things to note:

-Staff was super kind and friendly. Very willing to help.

-We stayed in an ocean view room and had free parking. The free part was amazing--we actually couldn't believe it. The parking lot, however, was really stressful. About 5 spots and VERY tight. It was always a challenge getting in and out.

-Pool was nice--but pretty small (and deep!). I think there were only like 8 chairs or something and that made it kind of stressful/awkward when people were hovering or clearly didn't have a place to sit.

-Towels were out frequently and they were pretty worn towels to begin with.

-Our room was pretty small--bathroom was pretty small. Balcony was cool, but pretty small with pretty hard furniture. Not the most comfortable.

-In general...relatively loud. We heard our neighbors a lot. We had to be those people one time and call the desk to report some dance party or something that was happening upstairs. Our walls were literally shaking with the bass. It was crazy.

It is a big, kind of sprawling \"resort\" so it is a little tricky knowing how to navigate everything.

Only problem was that at night the room became quite cold even with extra blankets our first two nights in spite of adjustments made by one of the employees. I explained to the hotel that I was having kidney stone surgery and they refused to offer me a refund. I also tried to book different dates later in the year but the trip turned out to be much more expensive. They don't care and don't respond unless you contact them via email, and several telephone messages. They don't care one bit. The trip protection fee only lasted two weeks. Hotel looks nice but if you cant go expect to lose over $1000 like I did.

while the welcome drink was a nice touch, the hotel is located in a lower area with many stairs, which made carrying luggage quite challenging. The loading zone was small, so loading and unloading was inconvenient. Note this hotel does not have elevators so be aware of this when you travel with elderly family members or friends.

As I indicated in m y email to Expedia, I was charged for resort fee, county and state fee and taxes when my Expedia purchase clearly stated that \"what you see is wht you get\". Additionally my room did not have a fireplace as I had paid for. The parking was on an uphill deadend street, the only way out was to bakck up down a hilly street making it hazardous.

We got an ocean view room but was given an ‘Ada’ room lowest on property which wouldn’t even be accessible for wheelchair users. Room is supposedly refurbished: full kitchen but absolutely no closet, drawers, or even mischief space in bathroom for toiletries. 1 night stand so my husband had to put his toiletries along ledge of fireplace & hang his shirt on the tv. The bathroom light went on with any movement in the room all night long. Fireplace pretty tho. We wouldn’t stay here agsin
