Everything was basic. Very old and borderline dirty but it was a room with everything you need. Shower, okay bed. Only thing was the room was extremely hot with the furnace on. There was no instructions on how to turn it off so I had to YouTube how to turn off the pilot light as there was no instructions. You get what you pay for.

For the price this was a great deal! Very clean and cozy. Could use some fixing up cosmetically, but we were overly very happy to have an option at a solid location that didn’t break the bank. Thanks for a great stay!

The room was okay. We did have issues with the bathroom. The tub was peeling in multiple places. The desk chair didn’t stay in the up position once you sat in it.Housekeeping staff was friendly and the price was $150 cheaper than the next door property. It was a quiet and safe area, very close 7min from downtown. These issues were written for management to fix.

The motel served its purpose for a short stay, but it is very outdated and could use some maintenance. The handle on the sink faucet kept falling off, and the tub and shower have been painted over. The tub also shifted slightly, as if something had been laid over it rather than properly repaired. Unfortunately, the blow dryer in the room did not work either.

Just like the name says, at least when it comes to motels.

I did a central coast road trip stopping at motels along the way. This one was by far the best for what it is, the one I felt most comfortable in.

The room was clean, parking free and easy. I had a good night sleep. Great location as well, if you have a car.

First off place was cheap, got the room for 43 bucks so there’s that. No air conditioning, just a fan bolted to the wall. Bathroom floor was dirty, but the bed was clean and comfortable, which is the most important thing. Office wasn’t even open in the morning, just a key drop box outside, so no coffee or anything like that.

Clean but loud and warm

Stay was very nice and the rooms were clean. There is No air conditioning which I hadn’t noticed. The outdoor temp was not warm but the rooms were and quite muggy. Just be aware. Also we chose a room in the second floor to avoid walking noise that I think backfired because I suspect it made the traffic noise worse since he had to leave the sliding g door open.

Good location, upper rooms have a good sized balcony which is uncommon, some ambient road noise if when windows open. It’s an older building showing its age (dated single pane aluminum sliding windows, popcorn ceilings, no air conditioning). Pool “closed indefinitely” but no explanation (it looked very clean, lighted at night). It’s okay for the price, basic, nothing great, nothing terrible, rooms have refrigerators.

it was close to all the activities we wanted to do in Monterey (short driving distance). The people who work there were very kind and even tracked us down when we left our car door open at night. The room isn't in brand new condition, but everything felt clean and we felt safe and comfortable with clean linens and sheets. we had everything we needed and the oversized mini-fridge kept our food very cold - even re-froze our ice packs daily. This isn't the fanciest hotel, but I would 100% recommend it for anyone looking for safe, comfortable and clean.

The refrigerator had a constant high pitched loud hum. It was still audible with the TV on and the volume turned up. The bathroom fan was even louder. The road noise was never ending due to the sliding glass doors facing a 5 lane main road. The property is run down and old.

The room is big and comfortable, it has night stands where to put your phone and a desk, the tv worked well but the SMELL IS TERRIBLE. The cleaning lady should use better cleaning supplies. We kept the door open a lot and the bathroom window. We had some disinfectant products and some air fresheners but the carpet in the room and the bathroom floor has be clean hard. All our efforts to improve the smell in the bathroom and room was not successful. The ice machine was broken and the pool was closed. We did not use anything else on the

Great location to walk to Old Fisherman Wharf and the aquarium, and Downtown Monterey. They made early check out without asking any extra fee. They also let me park my car after I checked out for a few more hours, while I visited Monterey History Museum before leaving the town. It was a very good experience for me.

We found this hotel was perfect for us. As 2 grandparents with two young grandchildren, we appreciated the friendly helpful staff. The room was well equipped and everything worked. I stay here every year for the car races in Monterey because it's affordable, convenient to Laguna Seca raceway and all the Monterey Peninsula, and you can park close to your motel room door.

The negatives are the room walls are paper thin so you hear your adjoining neighbors talking, watching TV, and walking on the 2nd floor above. The steeply angled driveways were difficult to get my low sports car in and out of the property without scraping damage. They once had a morning self-serve breakfast in the lobby, but now it's just a coffee machine in the room with a defective switch I had to keep holding down, attached to an extension cord that kept tripping its circuit breaker, also causing the Direct TV to have to go through a 10-min recycle to turn on. The swimming pool was roped from use off with a posted sign \"Do Not Swim in the pool if you have diarrhea\" which was a new guest feature this year.

The room was clean. The bed was comfortable. The outside balcony was a nice bonus. There was no bolt lock on the door, just a switch lock which we are not used to not having one.
The staff was OK not very friendly. They are only on the property until 10 PM and then after that there is no service. There was construction near our room, but it wasn’t noisy. It was not active so that we appreciated. There was some construction equipment around the property and the parking lot was kind of small, other than that it was a pretty good stay ! MAY 2025

Decent stay, but the construction we saw made us wary if the walkway and stairs were going to collapse under our feet at any moment since our room was on the second floor.

On google maps and hotel.com, it says they serve continental breakfast, but twice we've gone where we thought it'll be set up at the front office, but there was nothing within the time frame breakfast is usually served.

Maybe some guests don’t take the time to look out at the beautiful Monterey harbor view from the parking lot but I think it makes you appreciate what a great location this property is situated on a hill that is wonderfully placed for seeing the beautiful Monterey bay and all it has to offer.
