Centrally located in Monterey Bay, easy access to the bike/pedestrian trail which extends from the Wharf to Lover's Point. Rooms are large and nicely renovated. The room is quiet. Price is reasonable. Parking is easy. Nice place to stay.

I enjoy this little spot. It's right on the edge of cannery row and has the trapping of a moderate hotel. The remodel that's fine but not a full upgrade. A shower head that feels cheap. Carpet when wood or laminate would help.

I booked this hotel for scuba diving. It’s right next to San Carlos Beach. It’s a prime location in Cannery Row and within walking distance to restaurants and convenience stores. The room is spacious and clean. There was guest parking with additional fee. Overall it was pretty good for a 2-star hotel. I’m happy with the stay.

The partial beach view is nice, though the room that they show in the photos with the tall ceiling is only the top floor, there is a second floor that was very underwhelming but not terrible.

Location is great! Rooms are definitely a bit run down but didn’t mind that as much as the virtual kiosk reception desk. If you check in after regular office hours it’s all virtual with someone calling in. Just creepy and couldn’t help me with parking pass via FaceTime?

We liked the convenient parking and location but the hotel itself is NOT as nice as the pictures make you believe. We had issues with our rooms door locking securely, TV working and screen door to the balcony was broken. I’m not sure our bathroom was cleaned prior to our arrival. I found the last guests contact lenses on the sink counter!

Great location, close to beach, bike rental, restaurants, Cannery Row and Monterey Bay Aquarium. Staff is helpful and friendly. No laundry facilities, pillows are hard and fridge is noisy. Coffee and hot chocolate was very good and also complimentary.

Easily walkable to Cannery Row and the aquarium. Nice view with the balcony when booking ocean view. Walls in the bathroom weren’t very clean as there were visible splatters. The bed was SO loud and squeaky when getting up and sitting down. It was also ridiculously uncomfortable and had dips in the mattress. We’ve stayed here before in 2022.. but this trip they added $16 per NIGHT just to park your car. That is ridiculous and at 2 nights for $32 plus tax?? Waste of money, when we’re already paying to stay. Would NOT recommend this place to anyone anymore.

Half way through my shower when my hair had conditioner and my body was all covered in soap it lost all water pressure besides a dribble. I waited about 5 minutes and nothing changed so I did my best to rinse but I'm pretty sure I wasn't able to fully to rinse my hair and body. That was ridiculous

Clean room, nice location. Expected a better view , fireplace would make a clicking sound while on and fire would go out. Tv (we had Netflix on) would pause every 10 min. Beds were on the smaller side. Probably wouldn’t stay again.

It’s in a good location, but the walk to the aquarium is further than I anticipated from their write up. The room felt dated and cheap. Repairs to the walls look like they were done by a child. The furniture is older and banged up. It did not feel special in any way. In my experience, I would compare it more to a budget motel than a nice hotel in Monterey. I would choose somewhere different next time.

There is a reason this hotel is the cheapest hotel near Cannery Row. This hotel is in need of a remodel as the rooms and furniture are in very rough shape. There are no amenities to speak of and no customer service. It's a shame because it used to be kind of nice. The only positive thing about this hotel is the location. It is very convenient to access Cannery Row if that is your destination.

The location is great. However, the property is shabby and outdated. The carpet in our room was worn/torn to the floor next to the bed. The carpet in the hallways is worse.
Our room was on the ground floor facing the very noisy street so we really couldn’t sit on the patio (and couldn’t find a light out there).
We somehow ended up with an accessible room, which is fine. The bathroom was clean but the hand held shower head wouldn’t stay positioned while showering.

We were supposed to get a pre-check in email with instructions, but it never came. Fortunately there was someone at the desk to help us. This hotel should be viewed as a good, clean, crash pad. The toilet paper holder was broken, the fireplace didn’t work, and the video/zoom checkout was very glitchy. The room itself was renovated recently, it seemed, but the hallways were in very rough shape.

Very close to everything but the parking situation felt a bit unsafe. Housekeeping ignoorded out do not sitrub signas and tried to enter at 8 am when we were still sleeping which was a bit scary. We had problems with our tv remote not working and then staff said it was fixed but when we returned it was still not working properly. Along with that the blinds in the room were missing some bolts so we didnt want to touch them in fear of it falling off. OPther than that it was clean and easy to check in and out.

Very nice place, i think was recently renovated. Shower had good water pressure. Was very clean upon check in. Check in is all online and when room is ready Rm # and door code was texted to me. Really didn't go to office except to get parking pass. Easy walking distance to fishermans warf and to shops and resturants on Cannery Row, and the Aqurium. I would stay here again if available on my next trip to Monterey.

Stayed at the Cannery Row Inn in Monterey and overall I’d call it an average, middle-of-the-road experience.

The location is definitely the highlight. It’s within walking distance to Cannery Row, the aquarium, and a lot of restaurants, which made it really convenient for exploring the area without needing to drive much. Parking was also straightforward, which is always a plus in Monterey.

The room itself was decent but felt a bit dated. Everything was clean enough, but the furniture and overall setup could use some updating. The bed was comfortable, though, and the basics were covered.

Service was okay—nothing bad, but nothing particularly memorable either. Check-in and check-out were smooth, just not especially welcoming or standout.

Noise can be a bit of an issue depending on where your room is located, and the overall property just feels a little worn compared to other options in the area.

Not a bad stay by any means, but for the price, I expected a bit more. It works if you’re mainly there for the location and just need a place to sleep, but there are probably better options nearby if you’re looking for something more updated or polished.

Room is extremely outdated and dirty. We checked in and had to call the staff to remove a moldy curtain out of our room. Couldn’t sit outside on the deck because it was impossible to push the privacy curtains back and the screen door was busted a wouldn’t close properly. The water in the shower is slimy for some reason and the chair next to the desk was covered in stains making it to nasty to sit in. We love the location but for how much there charging now and the fact that they just started charging for parking as well is ridiculous. They need some major renovations done to the property to make it worth us going back to stay

Staff was great! Hotel was a little more overused than last time we were here. Hall carpet needs replaced and the paint on the deck is ready for some touch up. Adding a body length mirror would be a big upgrade. We always enjoy the bay view from our partial view rooms. Comfy bed and pillows. We are not pleased that you now have to pay a parking fee. Sounds like a money-making thing that is a real downer. We've always enjoyed the location, but will check out other lodging in the same area next time. Maybe all of the hotels are charging a parking fee now? We'll definitely be looking around for a better deal.

I spent 3 nights here, and it was a good experience. The room was clean, didn't feel outdated, and even had a small balcony. You do have to pay for parking, but that seems to be the case for many hotels in the area. Most of the spaces are under the building, so that makes it more worth it. Parking is tight, but 1/2 ton trucks do fit, at least in the uncovered spaces. The location is superb, about 1/2 a mile or less from most highlight attractions including fisherman's wharf and the aquarium. Their check in system is smooth and contactless with a door code they'll text you when your room is ready. They could do with a complimentary breakfast bar, but for the price you pay, it's not a deal breaker for me.

The location and view from our room was fantastic! And fairly reasonable too! The room was an adequate size as was the bathroom, with the sink outside the area where the toilet and shower are. There were bottles of lotion and hand soap built in by the sink, as were the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the shower. The fixtures were a bit older but were fine. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to get good enough sleep because the bed was very uncomfortable. Every movement caused loud squeaks from the springs in the mattress. Also, I have some recurring back pain and the mattress triggered it. Thankfully, we only stayed two nights. Other than the mattress, the room was quiet and clean and overall enjoyable. Virtual check-in was easy and we were texted the room code so we could go straight in. Quick checkout as well.

The property is run down with ripped carpeting in the halls and cracked tiles in elevator. The bed was seriously uncomfortable. No directions for phone use or binder with local attractions. Microwave was clean but noisy and took awhile to heat up a container of broth. No coffee cups in room and tea wasn't offered as an option. I paid almost $400 Valentine's weekend for one night. The fireplace was also noisy. While not the hotels fault, if you stay here, traffic can be noisy (at least on the side I was on). I understand it was Valentine's weekend and appreciate it is close to Cannery Row, but honestly felt this place was really not up to the price they were charging.

Very nice room with high ceilings. The outdoor balcony was a nice added touch to the room. The bed was comfortable and there was no noise coming in from either outside or surrounding rooms. We had a very nice stay and might make it an annual stop in the future. It is walkable distance to so many attractions and restaurants in Monterey.

We have stayed here for at least the past 20 yrs and this place had been our “go to” lodging at least twice per yr. We are disappointed that they increasingly have increased their parking fees. Keep in mind that they own the on premise parking at the hotel. Parking had now jumped to $15/day plus they add tax which makes parking $16/day. This means my 3 night getaway is now and additional $48.REALLY?? I feel nickel and dimed. Also, since we had arrived 1 1/2 hrs earlier than the 3pm check in, I called to inquire if our room was ready. They said “yes” but then proceeded to tell me if I wanted to check in 1 1/2 hrs early, I would need to pay a $30 early checkin fee. I said “no thank you”. Again a nickel snd dime scheme. Since my husband and I decided to stay a 4th night in the area, we chose another place in nearby Pacific Grove. Time to finally “move on” and find another place in the Monterey Bay Area that wants my business and won’t nickel and dime its patrons.
