Our initial experience at check-in was disappointing. The front desk staff member was not very friendly and she came across as rude and condescending. After checking in, we went to our room, which was very nice and clean. The view was beautiful, and hearing the waves right outside was wonderful.
Unfortunately, we then encountered several issues. When someone used the bathroom, the toilet would not flush, so we called the front desk. Thankfully, someone came promptly with a plunger to fix the problem. Additionally, the shower water pressure was extremely strong—so strong that it was uncomfortable and caused water to splash everywhere. We ended up using all of the towels to dry the floor.
The next day at check-out, the front desk staff member was different, and he was very kind and courteous, which was a noticeable improvement.
Overall, the experience was just okay, and I probably would not choose to stay here again.

This property was great! The only issue we had was how warm it was in our room. We were on the 3rd floor and had a view of Cannery Row, but none of the windows could open. Not even a slight opening. There was a ceiling fan in our room and a plug in, standing fan but it only blew the warm air around. We made sure the heater in our room was off, but we had a difficult time sleeping with no fresh air or cooler air option. Other than that, it’s a nice place to stay.

I recently stayed at the Spindrift Inn for a quick, much needed getaway. The views were such a wonderful part of my stay. My window looked directly over the water, which was incredible. The complimentary breakfast was the icing on the cake. I loved how simple the process was — just fill out the card, hang it on the door and relax. No dealing with the coffee maker or trying to clean it before brewing. Room service arrived on time each morning with a fresh carafe of hot coffee, fruit, pastries, or whatever I ordered. The first day, the pastries were warm and toasty. On the other days they arrived cold, so I’m not sure if the warming was standard or just something they did on the first morning.
The room itself was comfortable, but it did have a stale, pet-like smell, especially around the nightstand area. Beware! This Hotel has no Air Conditioning and there is a bar directly across the street blaring loud music with a line of loud drunk people waiting to get in. This was really bad our first night which was warm so that we had to have windows open or be very hot. Our second night was cooler so that we could close the windows which shut out the noise fairly well. Also, the bar was less packed and loud the second night.

I loved the complimentary breakfast service (even though it was a little redundant( the change in fresh fruit and pastries were nice, though, and everything was good). The restaurant they contracted with next door that provided the breakfast service (as they have no kitchen)is excellent for lunch and dinner. Although there were numerous places to eat in the area.I liked choosing my own time for breakfast and they were always punctual. I loved the complimentary wine, cheese/crax, with nuts and dried fruit at 4:30 daily. We tended to really look forward to it. I honestly can't say there was anything I would complain about however parking would have been nice. They only had valet for a price of course, but it was fairly reasonable and convenient. I highly recommend The Spindrift Inn.

From the moment we arrived until we left 2 days later our stay was wonderful! The staff greeted us upon arrival, our room was very clean & comfortable with an amazing view of Monterey bay! We love coming to the Spindrift Inn. There were some issues with our room. The clock was only on 4:57 and couldn’t be fixed, the toilet would start running once in a while due to the seal not holding. The windows were very dirty and difficult to see out of them. We were also next to a room that decided to party loudly until 4 AM as we were trying to sleep. We wish you still had feather beds as the bed was uncomfortable for us. We are not used to such a firm mattress. We do still love the Inn and look forwards to coming back.

Overall, we had a great stay with ocean view and decent accommodations. The staff team was very accommodating and helpful. We had some issues with coffee makers but they provided us with coffee while fixing it. We could not turn off bathroom fan so had to close the door. Very close for kayak rentals.

This was a very special place to stay. The staff were all super friendly. The room was nice and clean. We booked an ocean view room and it had a great view. It may seem just a tad outdated .. but I think it was charming and pretty well taken care of. I wished we had spent more time there. Also the in room breakfast was a really nice touch.
