I stay here every couple months to visit family.
A bit frustrated with booking inconsistencies. Last visit they said there would be a parking fee if reserved through Expedia.
They have removed this due to complaints.
Anyway, I call the number on there website twice trying to get front desk to reserve and avoid parking fee. Got a reservations service only.
Going directly through them they added 3 times the taxes and fees as Expedia
Expedia was a lot cheaper than going direct.
Normally direct hotel reservations are the same price or less because they don't have to pay a fee to Expedia.

We had a great stay! The gentleman in the office was friendly, thorough, and a Raiders fan hehe… The rooms were spacious, clean and well stocked. The kids loved the pool and spa! The location was great! It was quiet in the morning and evening. Balcony had a distant view of the beach. I will stay here again on my next visit!

The family suite/room was spacious and we had plenty of room. We loved having access to the indoor pool and hot tub during the rainy winter months. This is ultimately a basic motel/hotel. Our room had some updates: new flooring, new door with keypad lock. Our room also had some older features: older bathroom fixtures, older furniture, etc. The room was fairly clean and we were pleased with the cleaning done each each day. This is certainly not a high-end stay, but it was comfortable and close to attractions.

The Stargazer was such a pleasant surprise! The rooms were clean and comfortable. When we checked in we noticed that one of the beds in our room was broken. The hotel staff took care of the problem as quickly as they could. The coffee machine in the lobby was such a treat. So many choices and the coffee was great! We will definitely return to the Stagazer next the next time we are in Monterey!

It’s an average motel. They are refurbishing the rooms. My room was nice. The area is quiet. They do provide an iron, ironing board, blow dryer, microwave and refrigerator. Which is convenient. Parking is available for $10 plus tax. Parking is not guaranteed. I pulled in and dropped my bags off than parked on the street. Shortly after I checked out, I received a bill for parking. It seems their policy is to charge everyone and for you to contact them if you didn’t.

Overall a good, economical place to stay. Renovations being done that seem like they will make it an even more pleasant place to stay.

The reason for the low stars is because my niece and my sister in law(nieces mom) both got cut pretty badly on their feet by something on the floor inside the pool. We reported it, and it was closed an hour later, but I was hoping for some kind of discount or partial refund at least. My nieces cut was pretty bad. It was a nice weekend up until that happened on our last night.

When we returned back after dinner, the entire parking lot is full and this is not a part of the town where there is any street parking within about a mile when we try to speak to someone at the hotel, there is no staff on site only a virtual assistant, and they had absolutely no solution

This is one of our go too spots in Monterey and we did a last min trip for mlk 3 day weekend with the kids we usually get a suite w a balcony but they didn’t have any available this weekend so we got a regular room with 2 queens and still had a fire place and was amazing as always great customer service they came out with a new texting number you don’t even need to go to the front office to check in or out so it’s super fast and simple and quick responses our overall stay was 10/10

There was bed bugs , was beaten by bugs all over my chest and back , old mattress , squeaky, mattress box was broken, the vanity sink was clung , horrible smell inside room and the carpet floor were smelling strong odors , towels were old and a lot of yellowish , disgusting glowed attached to them , I dry out myself with my own tshirts and swimming pool closed was out of order there was not no body when I contacted front desk , I texted their customer service to refund my credit card and I have not received any response yet

The secondary room in our suite had no airflow. It was freezing in that room and the main room was unbearably hot since we had to force the warm air through the open door. The only thing missing was a restaurant and that is probably the reason why breakfast was not available. Easy place to find as it is one of the few hotels with a white fence out in front. Close to the mall and plenty of eating places to choose from. Also one of the few hotels that can accommodate a larger family as the suite rooms have three queen beds. You have to book quickly as the number of larger rooms are limited.

Had trouble with the text check in, but when we got there, no problems with in person check in. The suite was nice and large, clean, beds were comfy. Shower water got hot quickly and had nice, strong flow. Room temperature was good. Only complaints were that there wasn't an elevator and had to carry heavy suitcases up the stairs, and the microwave had damage to the inside and needed to be replaced. Overall good experience and would definitely stay there again!

I went into the lobby to ask if I could store my luggage at the hotel and surprisingly I was greeted by someone via a digital kiosk. It was... strange. I think the person was based in another country, and they said they could not store my luggage because no one was there. Maybe this was mentioned in some other comments or somewhere in the hotel description but I was surprised by it.

The pool was schedfor Maintenence on Monday 11/10. They closed the pool early Sunday 11/9. We specifically stayed here because of the pool and spa.
