Room is clean but it has a damp smell?Location is good . Breakfast was good, we stayed for 3 nights but breakfast was the same for 2 days. People are very nice and that’s the most important thing!!

Very pretty, nice, convenient property. Room was spacious, comfortable and clean. Fireplace was easy to operate. Breakfast was good with lots of choices including hot food which I wasn’t expecting from a breakfast described as continental. Housekeeping not automatic, you must request it before 9am. Not a problem but it would be nice to have extra towels provided without requesting them. Overall great stay.

My Gf and I’s stay was pretty good overall. My main complaint would just be how certain things were maintained. Their elevator was out of order and while that’s not a problem taking the stairs from the 4th floor (where our room is located) to the garage to get some stuff, it can get tiring. Staff were very friendly and the free breakfast was adequate. The room looked very cleaned, however upon entering the room we also noticed one light switch broken. Again, pretty good overall with just a couple minor complaints.

I recently stayed at the Pacific Hotel and was disappointed with the overall experience. The room was not very clean, which immediately set a bad tone for the stay. The hotel also advertises being close to Cannery Row, but the actual walking distance was much farther than what was posted, which was frustrating. On top of that, the receptionist was unfriendly and did a poor job explaining the charges on my bill. I would not stay here again.

The property is dated. The staff were friendly. The property was quiet and the bed comfortable. But our first room was disgusting. We checked into the and immediately were hit with the smell of bleach. The bathtub had something brown and gross and the carpet next to the bed was very wet. After putting a towel down it soaked through. Clearly something occur the night before and housekeeping tried to clean it up. But did not communicate to the front desk that this room may not be ready that day. The staff did have another of the same room available which we moved into. So there was never a reason to give us the deity room to begin with.

The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. One thing to note is that the building is not very accessible for guests using crutches or wheelchairs. The elevator got stuck during our stay, but Nick was extremely helpful and went out of his way to assist us getting to the garage and navigating the property. The hotel would benefit from having more elevators and easier access to the lobby to improve the overall guest experience.

I was very unsatisfied with my stay the bathroom tub had woman hair and dusty . In my bed area a men sock was just randomly there and the worst of all the room had ants in sink area . For the amount of money I paid since I brought my pets work me at 50 dollars per pet plus stay I was very unsatisfied.

It was a dog friendly room and I did find some urine on the wall and baseboard. Did not smell like pets were in the room. Bed was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was ok. Overall a good stay.

I killed 3 bugs in my room
The lobby staff was unfriendly. I went 3 times as I couldn’t find breakfast. She was rude and unhelpful. The map they provided was extremely small and blurry.
Breakfast was cold. We got there about 7:20 and everything was cold.
You were able to see light from outside around the entire door to the room .

My wife and I had a wonderful 5-night stay there. Our suite was comfortable and quiet, with a pleasant balcony where we enjoyed to sit. The staff is excellent across the board-- front desk, housekeeping, and maintenance. The breakfast was good. The central location is very convenient. We will definitely stay there again when we return to Monterey.

the room was okay. outdated. each time we returned fr an outing, it had a sewage smell in the room that we had to leave the backdoor open to air it out. staff showed minimal customer service. nothing special but the price was good for the nights there, location was the best thing bout the place. breakfast was okay. they never had fresh coffee in the lobby and always ran out before noon. we wouldn't stay here nor recommend it, unless you're looking for a good deal in regards to location. also, it was very noisy, even in the middle of the night like there was construction or moving happening. not sure what that was about, but it wasn't what we expected in the late hrs.

My wife was thrilled. Spacious and quiet room. Charming! Great bed and linens. Windows and balcony. Breakfast about the same in Marriott hotel, etc. Externally might use a little sprucing. 2/3 the cost of Marriott and way more personal and delightful.

Very noisy room on the road and by the ice machine. Shutters didn't close properly so also very light in the morning. Daughter's sofa bed wasn't made so we had to make it ourselves after asking twice for extra sheets. The hotel didn't have any extra comforters/duvets for my daughter either. Bath plug was broken so couldn't use the bath and toilet kept filling up very loudly all night. Great location for exploring Monterey though, with affordable parking.

Arrived for a 1 night stay. Staff seemed stand-offish. Transactional interaction. No interest in creating a connection. We opted for a first floor room due to having a small baby. Room was decent. Bathroom seemed dated rusty air vents. Tv did not work, called the front desk twice. First ring they did not answer. I called at 8pm. Answered 20 mins later. No apology, another transactional interaction. I considered booking an Airbnb. I booked the hotel hoping for a great stay. With hotel amenities and great staff. Wish I would have just booked an Airbnb for the price.

For a suite hotel, the room was not as clean as it could have been. There were hand smudge prints on the walls and furniture was kinda dirty. Bathroom could have been cleaner. Grout was dirty on multiple spots. Unfortunately the elevators were out so 3 flights of stairs, with dry rot on the steps was disappointing to see. Parking garage is very tight, with medium to large vehicles.

400 rooms numbers are on the top level and have the vaulted ceilings, as compared to the lower level suits. Bathroom was the highlight, shower was adequate size. The bath tub was a deep tub so it was nice for soaking. Bed was very soft and comfortable to sleep.

I had a very disappointing stay and would not recommend this property. The room had multiple cleanliness and maintenance issues that made it uncomfortable and concerning.
There was visible mold in the room, including on fixtures, and the hair dryer was filled with dust. Dust buildup was noticeable throughout the space. The room also had a strong odor that smelled like a mix of mildew and bleach, which made it unpleasant to stay in.
The headboard had what appeared to be a handprint on it, which raised serious concerns about cleanliness. The toilet seat was peeling and clearly in need of replacement. Additionally, the listing mentioned a fan, but there was no fan in the room at all.
To make matters worse, there was loud construction happening in the lobby during my stay, which was disruptive. I attempted to contact staff both via email and through Expedia chat multiple times over my 3-night stay and never received a response.
Overall, the lack of cleanliness, missing amenities, and complete lack of communication from staff made this a frustrating experience. I would strongly suggest improvements before others consider booking.

We arrived late with a genuine emergency — my wife had food poisoning, I had two small children in tow, and I needed to get everyone into a room as quickly as possible. The young woman at the front desk never once made eye contact while I explained the situation. No urgency, no empathy, nothing.
Then she assigned us a fourth-floor room on the side of the hotel with a broken elevator.
I had to get my sick wife up four flights of stairs, wrangle two small kids, and haul every piece of luggage myself — no cart, no elevator, no offer of help. And those stairs? Pieces of steps were missing with old rusty nails exposed. I was navigating this with two small children and a sick wife in tow. It was a safety hazard, plain and simple.
The next morning, the same employee was at the desk. I asked for additional towels — a reasonable request for a room sleeping four people. She smiled and said, \"No worries, I'll send them right up.\"
They never came.
We returned after a full day out and still had no towels. I had to call down a second time just to get something that should have been standard from the start.
There are bad days, and then there are systemic failures in basic hospitality. Staff indifference during a family emergency, a structural safety hazard that could have seriously injured my children, and a follow-through problem that required two requests for extra towels — I won't be back, and I'd encourage families especially to look elsewhere.

The breakfast was nothing special but still nice it was offered, everything seemed fresh.
The staff were decent.
The building though seems to be in need of some serious repairs, rotting steps, sunken floors (which filled with water due to it raining during our visit) the grout in the tiles, bathroom/shower/tub were all chipping or had mold present. The plumbing leaks in the under ground parking. The elevators either didn’t work or were very obviously never cleaned. Our comforter also had blood stains on them so doubt that has been washed in awhile…

The feont desk person didnt tell us how to get to our room, I had to ask. She said tuen left and take the stairs up. We has to ask a second time. The real direction that should have been shared is tuen left walk a 10p yards thepugh the garage and the stairs will be on the right. The key cards didn't work and had ro walk back. Had to ask for the wifi code later that night. Then its given with a map of the hotel. This should have been given in the beginning.

Staff / manager tried her best to address issues and was very kind…

keep in mind this street has may historical older Spanish style buildings, that’s the charm of this street… and this hotel is not the exception. So with older buildings, there will be water temperature issues, insulation is not as up to date , nor door seals - so you will hear outside noise.

Inside decor of our suite was very cute & cozy.

Part of the Spanish charm of the building is the Spanish outside clay tiles ( probably original) but when employees roll their carts over them they are very loud especially when rolling close to your unit.

Breakfast - was an issue for me, I was not to happy… but the manager addressed it and said she’s speak to the breakfast team… as all food should be continued to be made available up until 10am. (If you need a filling breakfast w protein- it’s probably best to go out instead).

The location and value you get relative to other hotels in immediate area you can't beat. The staff are friendly and helpful but limited. I'll elaborate soon. The property is older but really blends well with the old style architecture of the area. I was on the third floor and the elevator was out of service. The grounds looked well manicured but brickwork and wooden walkways could use power washing. Very dingy looking in contrast to the manicured landscape and white adobe looking walls. The room I had was a junior suite with a sofabed. The room appears to have been renovated. My biggest gripe is the toilet seat was either reused or abused by previous guests. Housekeeping in room was acceptable except for toilet again. Gray hard water stains were very visible below the water line. I lied about the biggest gripe. The biggest gripe was i had barely to no hot water for my overnight stay. I was told maintenance could not access the room to correct it until tomorrow as it was after hours. Fast foward to morning and still no hot water. Cold showers for all. Here is the limited part that i mentioned about the staff. When I notified the front desk about the water issue I was instructed to try leaving water on for 5 minutes and if not working she would have us moved to another room. I did 10 with very little heat. Staff apologized and informed me that her manager said they sold the last room. I checked and it was still available so you all could come to your own conclusions. Limit!

The junior suite was great! This hotel is walking distance from basically everything (aquarium, cannery row, fisherman’s wharf, etc). The location is really convenient. The parking garage clearance is 6’6”, so I couldn’t comfortably fit with my truck but there are nearby garages that have 6’8” and 7” clearance so it wasn’t a big deal.

Seems like walk ways / cement could have used a good power rushing. We have stayed there 4 or 5 times and like the walkablility the wharf area and downtown area for restaurants.

We enjoyed the suite. It was great having not only a bedroom but a little sitting area with a fireplace and couch. The kitchen area with the refrigerator, coffee pot and microwave was perfect. The out side porch was nice for a little fresh air.
The only disappointment was breakfast- it’s a nice breakfast but there is only one worker and the sausage or burritos come out 2 to 3 at a time . Also know it’s $22 per night for parking .

The property is beautiful however parking in the garage is terrible if you have a large car. We ended up parking in the street. The elevator to our third floor room was broken so we carried our luggage up the stairs. This wouldn’t have been terrible if my daughter didn’t have a sprained wrist. Also, there are no snacks available for late night hunger. We were directed to the nearest gas station. The room was clean and spacious.

There was a heat wave and the temperature was warmer than usual. The hotel room was warm and stuffy. We tried the air conditioner which didn’t work. The heater was working though. Otherwise, the room and bathroom were clean. Beds were comfortable.

We stayed here one night with our kids and everything was amazing! The staff were courteous and helpful, the grounds are huge, and the rooms/suites are large and perfect for a family! The free continental breakfast surprisingly had hot breakfast burritos and sausage. There was some visible wear and tear throughout the grounds, but that’s to be expected.
