Upgraded to room facing the park with a good view of the water. No AC in the room but fan located in the room for our use & kept balcony door open for ocean breeze. No restaurant on-site; however, nice continental breakfast included with room rate. Hotel is well located within walking distance of restaurants & cafe & quiet location on Cannery Row at the opposite end from the aquarium.

There was no A/C and the room was hot and stuffy upon arrival. I was disappointed in the general building maintenance. Carpets were dirty. The front desk staff made a point to mention it was a no-smoking property; however guests were smoking pot in the garage. You can't have it both ways! I think it was overpriced for the actual accommodation.

I had a really enjoyable stay at the Monterey Bay Inn.

First, the ocean view is absolutely amazing — waking up to the sound of the waves, seagulls, and sea lions was such a peaceful experience. One of my favorite touches was the complimentary breakfast delivered right to the room every morning. It felt like a little luxury that made the stay extra special.

The location is perfect. It’s just steps away from Cannery Row, with easy access to shopping, dining, scenic walking trails, bike paths, and the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

The room itself was spacious, especially the bathroom with two sinks, and I loved that the bed was positioned facing the ocean view.

There are a few things to keep in mind. Parking is $25 per night. The rooftop hot tubs (which overlook the ocean) are beautiful but small — they only fit about four people, and they were always full when I tried to use them. I ended up using the second-floor hot tub, which doesn’t have a view, and still had to wait about 20 minutes for space.

You can tell the building has been there a long time, though some upgrades have been made. The elevator made a loud noise every time it closed, and the hallway on the 3rd and 4th floors felt slightly sloped in the middle.

the front desk staff were very kind and accommodating — they even allowed us to keep our car parked until 4pm after checkout, which was really helpful.

Overall, despite a few minor inconveniences, I would definitely stay here again for the views and location

We had a king harbor view. The view was beautiful. We were on floor 2 and could hear the people above us, but had a sound machine we brought with us so it wasn't too bad. First breakfast the coffee was luke warm, \"pastry\" was a dry croissant, it was ok. Second day, fruit was much better and coffee was hot. It was hard to get in the hot tub, even later at night. Overall, a good stay.

The ocean was visible from the room, but it was mostly the wharf/harbor. There was a fountain right outside our balcony which drowned out the sounds of the waves which was a bit disappointing. There were 2 hot tubs, one was right outside our room which was great. We loved our balcony and spent most of the time out there. The bed was extremely firm, but comfortable.

This is our favorite place to stay in Monterey. You can see sea otters from your balcony if you book a harbor view room. (Most rooms have the view, but there are a few that don’t). Every room gets a continental breakfast delivered daily, make your selections the night before. It’s an easy walk to the Aquarium, historic Monterey and Fisherman’s Wharf.

I only stayed here for one night and traveled solo.

Check-in: Staff was very friendly and gave good restaurant recommendations.

Room: The room was very spacious. Had a lovely balcony with view of the docks. It was a bit warm inside the room. I realized that there was no AC, only a heater. But I used the tower fan they had in the closet and it cooled the room rather quickly.
Overall, I would come here again.

Amenities: They have 2 jacuzzis and there’s an ice machine available on each floor. Front desk sells sodas and snacks, otherwise there’s a 7-Eleven around the corner, less than a 7 min walk. I

Breakfast: They provide a menu for you to fill out and hang on your door the night before, They offered fresh fruit, yogurt, hard boiled egg, and pastries (I got mini croissants). They also offer coffee, tea, and juice. And you choose the time you’d like to receive your meal.

Overall this a nice hotel for the value and Cannery Row offerings are just a short walk away. Consider staying here for your next trip to Monterey.

We had a wonderful four night stay in a room overlooking the harbor. The balcony was lovely in the morning as we drank our coffee and ate a free continental breakfast that is delivered to your room at the time that you wish to have it there. On a few special mornings, we were able to watch the otters playing in the bay as we ate. Each day we were given fresh bottled waters, which can cost a great deal in other hotels.

The staff, especially Concordio and the manager, were professional and responsive. Concordio recommended great restaurants for us to try. We had a very minor issue while there and both of these individuals went above and beyond to make it right. We are grateful.

If we find ourselves in Monterey again, we will stay here. We highly recommend the property.

We spent a couple of days over New Year's Eve at the Monterey Bay Inn. I booked a harbor (ocean view) according to my confirmation email. Our room was a park/street view with the harbor visible if one leaned over the railing. So, we went back to the front desk. The staff could not have been nicer and moved our room to a harbor view. We were very happy with the views, the bed and the room. The hotel offers a \"Pillow Menu\" which was new to me- nice touch! We didn't need to change our pillows as those on the bed were lovely. The room top hot tub was lovely: clean, great views, and the perfect temperature. The included breakfast was healthy and tasty, It was so nice to have it delivered and then the tray taken away. I felt so relaxed and definitely like I was on an actual vacation. HEAVEN!

We are senior citizens and found that the toilet was very low and the two arm chairs were quite low. Other than that it was nice. The room was very large, the shutters on the sliding glass doors to the balcony created it's own charm. I liked, too, that you could see a bit of the bay from sitting in bed and that the continental breakfast was delivered to our room at the time we requested.

An absolute dream anniversary and bday trip ! Michelle was so helpful and courteous as were all the staff . We were upgraded and what a view ! We wanted stay on our balcony all day. The room was super clean, fresh, and well appointed . Complimentary waters in the fridge were very appreciated . Breakfast is brought to you in the morning . It’s a perfect platter . Coffee was great , baked goods were delicious and fruit was fresh and delicious . It was a great start to our morning . Beds were very comfortable and hot tub on the 4th floor has the most beautiful views . Wish they had 2 . Thank you Monterey Bay Inn. This was our second stay , and hope to return soon .

The room was fine. It was clean. The chairs were not comfortable--they were worn and the cushioning was inadequate. Also, the two wall sconce lights on either side of the bed were not working, so there was no way to read without overhead lights on. The bathroom/shower area was nice. However, there was construction going on in the hotel which concomitant noise.
