The room we had was deep in the corner. It was very dark, there was no window, only window was the tiny bathroom window. No air circulation unless you used the Small portable unit that was very loud and it blew out too much air. I was unable to adjust the amount of air. Sleeps was terrible, it was either muggy or so much air your eyes and nasal passages felt dried out. I woke up multiple times to turn the air off and on. This room felt like a storage room they turned into a motel room. All bad, I thought the room itself was okay, I definitely would refuse to stay in the room we had, no windows is absolutely unacceptable. First time ever in this situation. The AC units were not used friendly. I don't know if I would come back again, I stayed here once before and thought it was nice, it was a room closer to the office. I was very very disappointed in this room during this trip.

I consider the room to be a bare bones room. If you were traveling all day and needed a place to sleep, it would have served its purpose. Our room had a loose bathroom faucet and the window was broken. The a/c worked fine and the bed was very comfortable with fresh clean sheets. No coffee maker in room but there was one at check in.

After spending one night in my room, I discovered the window did not lock. I requested another room and was able to move. The bed in the 2nd room was more comfortable than the first room. What concerns me is that another person was given the room with the faulty window which to me is a horrible safety issue as the window could be opened from the outside. Learned to always check that windows lock! Will not use this hotel again.

I know they are trying hard to make this place nice, however they need to focus on the guest service. The banging of the doors is so obnoxious and loud! Construction on a room with the guys trucks parked sideways in the lot cant get to the room, loud Construction it was terrible. The room is sterile, no blow dryer for hair, just a bed and sink, Tv not inviting at all, the room is stark white with blinding lights. Ugh its not good at all. Thin walls you van hear everything!!!!!!! Needs a lot of work

I got a much smaller room in a corner with no windows. The size advertised was not what I got. I asked why and I was told all tooms are the same. That is not true. I haved stayed thete befire. And just the fact if no window makes it incorrect tesponse. Never staying here again.

This property had a very friendly and responsive staff. We arrived later and we got one of the last rooms left for the night, which was very nice and accommodating for the price we paid, but there was one minor issue, the flush valve on the toilet wasn’t working. When I brought it to the attention of the front desk, they quickly came to our room to see if there was an easy fix. After a few minutes of attempting to repair it, they decided to move us to another available room. The second room didn’t seem quite as updated as the first, but was still comfortable. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the toilet worked in this room. Toilet and shower/tub fixtures had much more wear and tear, but everything worked, so it was good enough for our one night stay. Monterey itself didn’t have many dining and entertainment options available for late arrivals, but that’s no fault of the motel. Overall, I would stay here again and I really appreciated the staff acting so quickly to address the issue with our first room!

GREAT place to stay. Secure, clean, inexpensive, convenient. Rooms are nice and large with comfy King beds & pillows & linens, nice showers, black-out drapes, large TV with tons of Direct TV channels, fridge, microwave, in-wall heat & AC unit, and a very good Vietnamese restaurant next door, Plenty of free parking right in front of rooms. Very close to all there is to do in Monterey, literally a 5 minute drive to Fisherman’s Wharf and Cannery Row. EXTREMELY affordable rates that are significantly lower than other Monterey hotels. Best of all is the SOLID Management by Tej and Mike: they were always professional and accomodating, approved my reservation change (I asked to postpone it 1 week due to serious rain storm) without penalty and even allowed me to change rooms with no hassle. I’ve stayed here before with same great results and will stay again. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

And u could hear every room unit threw wall.the window was above bed lock was broken and no screen and the alley back there was very dark and scary NO I DID NOT FEEL SAFE! There was no smoking or pets but the room next to me had a dog barking and howling for hours till I complained at midnight.i am a traveling nurse that gets up early and this was inexcusable and the guys every night drank and smoked so many cigarettes it filled up my room for hours it was completely a nightmare from HELL AND THEY WERE LOUD TILL MIDNIGHT I WOULD NEVER STAY AT THE MOTEL FROM HELL AGAIN!

It was actually much better than having mediocre coffee in the room and it’s available from 7am-10pm! Bed was comfortable, but pillows are too full. Pillows from home are always best!

The room was in OK shape but lacked what I consider necessities for the price paid. There was no coffee maker in the room. The only one on sight was in the lobby. We were in an event that required us to leave at 6:15AM. Fortunately the manager opened the lobby early to accommodate us but we did miss out on hot water for tea the night before. The shower was completely out of shampoo and conditioner. Fortunately, we brought our own. The mattress was large, king size, but had a considerable sag in the middle. The sink faucet was plumbed backwards meaning hot was on the right instead of the left. This resulted in much water down the drain before figuring it out. There was no hairdryer in the room, but fortunately the manager was more than happy to give us one to use. The windows in the room were at ground level, literally two or 3 inches from the ground and there were no screens. when I opened them to cool the room down I saw a rat running across the fence near by. I’m OK with the rat being outside, but I wouldn’t want it to come inside because of no screens. We ended up having to leave the windows closed the entire evening. It got kind of stuffy in the room.
