For years we have drove by this hotel and this time we were staying in the area for only 1 night and thought it would be a perfect chance to try it.
Location location location! Great view and literally across the street from the ocean, a beautiful grassy area and a restaurant.
The staff was so friendly and check in and check out.
Rooms are older, but clean. Heavy chemical smell, assuming from the cleaners that housekeeping use. Closed our windows when we went to dinner and when we got back we had to air out the room.
Shower nob was EXTREMELY hard to use. I could barely turn the dial. Actually had to call the front desk letting then know the nob was stuck and we couldn't adjust the temperature or turn the water off. Luckily by the time she made it to our room we were able to shut the water off. She offered us a new room but we opted to stay in the room we had.
The bed was okay, not the most comfortable in our opinion.
Had a ceiling fan and a portable fan, we appreciated that. Kept one window open all night afraid we'd wake up to the chemical smell.
Not sure when we'll be back in the Monterey area, and not sure we'd stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay here in June 2026. The weather was still cool enough that we just had the ceiling fan on. We later realized the window was slightly open so we had a cool breeze coming in, so the room was already cool. We were 4 girls staying in one room (double occupancy) and it was spacious enough for us, except there was 3 bath towels. We forgot a stuff toy after check out and called the hotel asking about it. They offered to ship it back to us but fortunately we were still in town so we swung by to pickup. The location was great, we could cross the street and walk down to the beach and the restaurants close by. They had parking on site and also under garage parking.

I highly recommend this place! The room was exceptionally clean, comfortable, and incredibly quiet, making it easy to relax and get a great night's sleep after a long drive it's literally right across from Lovers Inn Beach, so you're just steps away from the water and beautiful views. There are also plenty of restaurants and places to eat nearby, making it convenient to grab a meal without having to travel far. If you're looking for a peaceful, clean, and perfectly located stay, this is an excellent choice.

The room was okay, definitely outdated and really warm inside. The mattresses were super hard and the springs were either damaged or extremely worn in some places. The one side of the bed had an indent where it felt like you would roll off from it. The rest of the room was ok, smaller bathroom with really low shower faucet. Older carpet. I wouldn’t have rated it low just because of this, but did so due to the extreme amount of noise at night. First it started off with someone purposely stepping super loud back and forth on the balcony and then laughing. People kept being loud late into the night. Around 2am, a man started screaming loudly outside near the check in area, saying things like peeka-boo, I see you and strange things like that. Then a man and younger man walked down in front of our room soon after. I don’t know if they were the ones screaming or someone else, but they were talking loudly as well. It put us on edge and I couldn’t sleep well because of that. With the amount of money you pay per night, they could really use some updates and maybe some kind of security. They need to monitor what is happening on their property, especially late at night and early A.M. other than that, it was nice being right across from Lover’s Point. The ocean location is the only reason I booked it.

This hotel was clean and recently refurbished (floor updated, painted walls/furniture, beds are up to date with latest standee in linens). This is an older hotel and the bathroom is very small. However, we needed an affordable, clean, and nice location to do a short vacation with our two young children and this was perfect. It is right across the street from a nice cafe and secluded/no wave cove to swim in. There is a kayak rental (we took the kids out kayaking), a bike rental, and a good hamburger place too. We were able to play at the beach and go back to the room whenever we needed throughout the day while at the beach. It is in walking distance to the Aquarium too. Parking was easy Overall a great experience.

I booked a room for two nights but due to the bed being an old spring bed both myself and my grilfriends back were super achy in the morning. Unsure if the shower head was for show or we were too dumb to figure out how to turn it on but there wasn't a switch, nozzle or push/pull lever to make the water actually come out of the shower head. The other issue is this is very much an inn like motel 6. Small space. Minimal stuff in the room and no ac. Granted youre by the ocean and the breeze helps. But if you encounter the same issue we did. You'll be up til 12am listening to mariachi music from the neighboring inns.
If you want a room and are not picky about a bed or working shower and possible noisy neighbors. It'll be fine. But for what I paid im pretty dissatisfied and upset. I didn't even bother to fully check out due to the lack of wanting to be there.

It was nice that the room was 500 feet from the ocean, but, the rooms are very old and the picture online looks 20 times better than what you see when you get there. Additionally, there’s not very much parking so you have to go to the parking garage. The parking garage has no cameras and it’s very creepy. Overall, the rooms are like staying at a hotel six but the view and being that close to the ocean is nice.

This property is in an amazing location and neighborhood however it is in such need of a renovation which I believe they are trying to work on it. New bedding, pillows, the bathroom, the TV. But the location is fabulous.

I stayed at Lovers Point Inn in Pacific Grove several times throughout the years. I was happy to see this time that they are remodeling all the rooms, taking bathtubs out and putting showers only, like that idea better. They took out carpets and installed hard floors, I like that better also. Looking forward to my next stay so I can give a five stars. They used to offer limited breakfast but they not longer do that.

I reserved and paid ahead for a 2 QUEEN bed room. When we arrived I noticed right away the beds seemed much smaller. I have a queen bed myself so I know how my husband and I fit on one...we laid down to be sure and there was NO WAY they were queens. We had our 3 children with us who normally fit just fine with a queen bed at other hotels/inns. I went to the office and the man at the counter said \"mmm no it should be a queen what's your room number?...ya it should be a queen\". Not wanting to create trouble I left it alone but regretted it because one of my kids ended up having to sleep on the hardwood floor! Im sure the beds were a double/full...my husband and I were basically falling off the edges all night as well and we are normal size people. Very disappointed and will NOT be returning. Definitely not worth what I paid.

The inn was a throw back to when I grew up in Monterey, Pacific Grove, and Pebble Beach. The room, though older, had all the amenities my daughter and I needed and appreciated for our trip. The main reason I chose this lodging was for its location. It was perfect. From walking along the beach each morning to having an astounding coffee at the next door coffeehouse, the Lover’s Point Inn exceeded my expectations. I will definitely be frequenting The Lover’s Point Inn in my future trips to the peninsula and I look forward to seeing the friendly and helpful staff again.

Very limited parking in front of the rooms. The street parking was available after hours, so that was good for overnight parking instead. The tv in our room didn’t work it look very pixelated and only got a few Chanel’s. The wall plugs next to both beds didn’t work. Our shower faucet wouldn’t hold for more than 2 minutes so we weren’t able to use it unless we held the faucet down. The staff however was nice and friendly and it’s very close to the beach.
