The staff were all extremely helpful and pleasant. I enjoyed my stay in a room with a great view on the second (top) floor. There's ample parking and the views from some of the rooms, my in particular, are great! My balcony overlooked the golf course (the local Pacific Grove muni) and also gave me a glimpse of the ocean. And, it's just a short walk or drive to the beach. There's a complimentary continental breakfast which can be upgraded to breakfast buffet for just $15. All in all, a very nice establishment that I will consider first, next time I'm in the area.

I held back one star for three things that are important to me. There was a thermostat in the room but apparently there's no A/C. Not that that would matter for most folks but I found the room a bit stuffy, even with the patio door open. The second issue was that there was a used q-tip on the floor in the bath area which was just sort of off putting. Lastly, I was dumb enough to leave some things in two drawers when I checked out. Housekeeping put the contents of one drawer aside for me but the contents of the other drawer were just not accounted for. It was my mistake so I can't fault them for not keeping track of my stuff. But it was weird they found everything from one drawer but nothing from the other.

Room was bigger than expected and very clean. Beds were surprisingly comfortable. Only gripe was that I had to carry my suitcase down stairs to get to the room, but honestly, not a big deal. Will be back again.

The staff was friendly and kind. The room was clean, spacious, and offered a delightful view of the ocean through the cyoress trees. The room included a little frig and microwave, both of which I used. The breakfast bag included a muffin, juice and granola bar. Apples and oranges were available as well.
There was a little mold in the grout outside the shower.
Overall, I look forward to another stay there.

Beautiful location, convenient to restaurants and the ocean. Clean spacious room, good lighting. Beds were hard and pillows too thick. Front desk person on check in was surly, not friendly or helpful. Breakfast offered not good for gluten sensitivity, but good restaurants for breakfast close by.

Loved the look of the area and the rooms were spacious. I booked two jr suites with king size beds and pullout sofa. Plenty of room for our family.
The water pressure in the showers and tubs were incredible.
The free breakfast was delicious, everyone enjoyed it.

My now husband and I stayed here over the weekend of Memorial Day weekend, the front desk staff was SO friendly and answered all of our questions. However, the room wasn’t all that. The shower floor filled up with water as we showered and took forever to drain. The floors weren’t swept/mopped, and there was no housekeeping during our stay. As beautiful as the property was, I just wish it was a little more neat and tidy. I understand it is not a high end hotel like the four seasons, but a little housekeeping would’ve been nice.

My girlfriend and I were upgraded to a honeymoon sweet for our anniversary and it was very nice. Parking was close and convenient, the room was spacious and comfortable. The shower was really nice, the one downside is the skylights above the bed let all the sun in around 7am so bring a sleep mask if you have a skylight

Super expensive hotel for what it has to offer: dated rooms, not very clean (the air return with visible dirt coming out of it, every towel was stained, toiled seat is wobbly and the toilet got flooded). Staff were ok, certainly not the nicest. Firepit is shut off at 10pm. No place to hangout on premise but the room! Won’t stay there again.

We were in a cottage one bedroom. Room was clean and liked the high ceilings. Sliding door would not open and needed replacing. Shower leaked bad and the toilet area needs to be replaced as lots of dry rot. Really nice property but lots of clean up needed. They are trying but need more help. Employees were awesome and breakfast was really good. Eggs and sausage need to be warmer. Overall it was enjoyable and we would return. Just two blocks to ocean.

The check in staff (CJ) was very efficient and the breakfast staff was very nice and attentive. The only issue was the bed. It was incredibly uncomfortable. The cottage was clean and beautiful, although the patio was a bit over grown. I would stay there again with hopefully a much more comfortable bed.

Property on the cottage side was worn down (old). Needed a maintenance worker or upgrade. Landscaping was not well kept. Storage in parking structure area unsightly. Toilet not secured to floor, trim rot in restroom. All workers were courteous and helpful. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was hot diverse and plentiful. Verify your room type with follow up call. Much potential if fixed up.

Enjoyed our time in Pacific Grove. We enjoyed the included hot breakfast and the room amenities at this hotel, but noticed windows in disrepair, scuffed furnishings and broken or missing window screens. The location and fire pits are great. The hotel needs some updates, not planning to return.

So disappinted in the experiance here. The driveway leading to our room has many tree roots underneath, the car scraped bottom.The room needs some maintenence. Curtain hanging crooked, looked like termites in the bathroom? Breakfast is what you would expect at Holiday Inn: microwaved potatoes and sausage, carton eggs. The hot tub was full of leaves green slime. Although this is my first time back in many years it is my 9th visit. Sadly i doubt i will return.

Place is dated, run down looks like new owners are not putting any money to maintain, wood railing are falling apart, room was clean,
Towels are a joke they are for a child, complementary brakfast, hahah foul of sugar muffin and a full of sugar OJ in a paper bag . You can’t check in 1 mint early . They want you to wait till 4 pm to check in, there there are 15 people waiting to check in with one person behind counter.

I’ve stayed here several times over the years. It had been a long time and the rooms are showing their age. Still, it was a pleasant stay and I’ll probably continue to go back for the value (weeknight, low season). The front office staff was great both for check in and check out. Suggestion to the desk was to have a QR code so people can leave a tip for housekeeping. Carrying cash is just not as common these days.

Very helpful gentleman on checking in.

The room we had was cottage with a fireplace. I loved the fireplace - it’s a gas fire which starts up at the flick of a switch.

The cottages were over the road from the check in / main hotel. Most cottages were up a flight of stairs, and you park the car underneath.

Our room was really spacious. The bed was comfy, but I think the pillows need replacing.

The location is wonderful - Pacific Grove and Monterey are lovely!!

We have been staying in the cottages at lighthouse Lodge and cottages for many years now. This stay was way below average.
There was no coffee table in front of the couch in our cottage, so no place to sit with your feet up and watch the TV. When I called the front desk to ask about it, they said it had been removed because it was in poor Repair, but there was no intent on replacing it for my stay.
The jet tubs are nice, but everything really needs an intense tile, grout cleaning.
Really miss they made to order breakfast and the wine and cheese afternoons at the cottages!

Although this motel is advertised that its dog friendly there really isn’t any walking area for the dogs and I didn’t notice when booking but it’s right next to a cemetery and the streets are very narrow. There’s really not enough sidewalk to walk your dog around so we’re stuck in the room and had to just kind of walk him in the parking lot. Also, there are two locations of this lighthouse motel the dog friend is the one that doesn’t have the walking trail and it doesn’t have the fire pit that’s advertised in the picture so it was really confusing.

Overall, this hotel has a great location—very convenient to downtown restaurants, the beach, the lighthouse, and nearby golf links, which made getting around easy and enjoyable.

When we first entered the room, there was a noticeable damp, moldy smell. Fortunately, we were upgraded to a room with a fireplace, which helped a lot. We lit a fire and opened the patio door to air things out, and that made the space much more comfortable.

The breakfast was quite basic, similar to what you’d expect from a typical motel—nothing special, but sufficient for a quick start to the day.

One issue to note: the patio screen door was loose and didn’t close properly, which was a bit inconvenient.

Overall, a stay with a strong location and some positives, but a few maintenance and comfort issues that could be improved.

We were throughly impressed with the breakfast and the staff who worked there were very friendly and helpful. Parking in the covered spaces at the cottages was a bit treacherous after the rain. Getting into our car was a little tricky due to the water that hadn’t drained. The room was comfortable and large. We will definitely go back.

We arrived to see the lighthouse and the sandy beach right next to the pacific grove golf course that my grandson was competing in. We walked down to a dungeon like room with a view when u walk out of a graveyard and my six year old said get me out of here it was creepy old room old chairs old comforters the fireplace did not work which was one of the amenities that they advertised about and a dead rat stink so badly in the swing that he was going to sit in our room stunk ! Worst place ever. So he was very nice to refund our money and we went down the street to a beautiful hotel by the butterfly sanctuary. I would never stay here !

The place is overpriced and needs remodeling. They don’t clean the room unless you stay more than four days which I think is ridiculous given the rate they charge. The free breakfast bag is basically toxic sugar including a bottle of apple juice, muffin, and granola bar (not a good one). Coffee is free but mediocre.

The property is rather \"weathered\" and needs upgrading. Window screens were bent, and the windows didn't fit in the casing - I'll fitting and drafty. We stayed in a junior suite which was much better than our friend's standard room. The breakfast was actually very good (eggs, sausage, potatoes, pancakes, biscuits & gravy) and the staff was very pleasant.
Overall, the property just needs some TLC and upgrading, but it completely served our purpose. We're not overly picky and it was nicer than a chain hotel

We had an ant problem in our room, took it into our hands to clean them up since it was pretty late when we noticed them. Back yard was a little messy with dry branches/over hanging branches made the patio look messy. Besides that everything else was perfect including the area surrounding the property.

We've stayed at the suites half a dozen times and loved it, especially it's proximity to Asilomar Beach (5 minute walk). Stayed at the cottages and my only complaint is that the rooms got a little stuffy at night and no AC. Tried to turn on the fan to no avail.

I planned a surprise overnight getaway for my hubby. I was very excited about this place but that feeling quickly fizzled. I was actually disappointed in this very spacious cottage. The bed was lumpy and the linen was dingy. The caulking in the bathroom looked like it had been applied by a 5 year old. We never could get the ac to kick on.

Paid way too much for this sub par room/cottage.

They had little baggies of bfast you can pick up that had fruit and orange juice and a granola bar. You could also pick up some tea or coffee in the lobby as well. The staff was so sweet and kind and gave us some recommendations to check out. Parking was great, we had no issues. Only complaint if you’re a light sleeper, the walls are thin so we could hear our neighbors and the stomping. We would come back again, we enjoyed it overall and it’s at a great location !

Location is nice. Cottage was spacious, the interior was overall decent a bit beat up would be the best way i could describe it. The bed was very firm and the pillows were not great. A portion of the driveway to the back cottages is being pushed up by tree roots and makes for quite the speed bump, not ideal for smaller/ lower cars. I was pleasantly surprised buy the breakfast buffet. It was very good, fresh and plentiful options. We unfortunately did not get to enjoy the fire pit area due to the rain. Overall a decent stay.

Property highlight is the cemetery in the backyard — kids loved that. Overall the property upkeep is so-so; quite a bit of dry rot in the bathroom and exterior doors to mechanical areas, as well as unsecured fuse boxes/electrical panels posed some safety risks. The pool hours listed until 10p — large group of kids just having fun and being respectful. They were given a warning to quiet down, then suddenly staff is screaming at them.
