The room really needs to be upgraded. Its incredibly dated, curtains are so old, they have holes where fabric used to be. The carpet is worn badly. They seem to not understand what a wash cloth is, after asking them twice to bring some to the room. There were not enough towels in the room, or toilet paper. The jacuzzi bath was disgusting with mold, we wisely decided not to use it. Tile in the bathroom was cracked, with ants finding their way in through it. The wallpaper had masking tape on it, in an effort to keep it together, but it was failing & unsightly. The cups & glasses were not cleaned properly. The ceiling fan barely worked, and it drooped badly. It just really seemed to us, that they couldn't be bothered with providing any sort of good service. It's really sad this motel has gone down in service, yet the price hasn't been adjusted for the decline of the rooms. They close the office by 8pm, so make sure you check your room thoroughly before that time, or you are s.o.o.l. until whatever time in the morning.

Other reviews are pretty negative, but I found my room, #101, to be very clean, comfortable and quiet. I enjoyed the gas fireplace and the deep tub. Wifi was good. I used the little coffee maker and the set of plates, cups and utensils for snacks. Was the wall paper perfect? No, it was loose in some spots. I was attending Empty Spools at Asilomar and my room couldn't have been closer. I thought the motel was a good value for the money spent.

I would rate this a value place to stay. I felt the price was reasonable for the location. In fact, I loved the area. The grounds were a little un-kept, and the room was acceptably clean. There were several small problems with the wallpaper, calking in the bathroom, old carpet, old stains on the cloth covered chairs, etc. But, again for the price and location I felt this place was acceptable for my purpose. In spite of the little imperfections, I didn't feel any \"yuck\" factor. Again, acceptably clean. I would very much recommend this place. Walking distance to the beach, and the downtown eateries and taverns was very enjoyable for me. I would go back.......

The property could be so cute but the lack of upkeep and care is obvious- outside the fences are falling down theres trash and debris, the patio areas have been completely ignored and unmaintained
Inside there’s pealing wallpaper, water damage, mold, lack of cleaning standards, frayed carpet , a very broken tv that didn’t work and that wasn’t even plugged in (in bedroom ) and a cheap broken down couch to gross to dare sit on in the living space

It says luxury suites however the 1 bedroom king suite we stayed in was very old and outdated. The heater in the bedroom didn’t work and the living room did not have a coffee table which most of the suites have. The carpet was very old and stained with what appeared to be pet damage, it just felt dirty. We’ve stayed here in the past but this time our experience was not as pleasant from the moment we checked in.

Bathroom was absolutely disgusting. No hot water. Went to our room and it wasn’t even cleaned. Maid came in after we had all our stuff already in. Stained blankets. Furniture falling apart, room smelled like wet dog. We loved this place and have gone for over 15 yrs. Never was it like this. Wish I could get my money back. Was just horrible

Terrible hotel! It was disgusting. Spots on the carpet, spots on the sheets, dirty walls, toilet, shower, curtains were hanging off of the rod and one side had duct tape to hold the curtains closed. All the windows were wide open as we arrived at 12 am and it was 46 degrees out. The place was freezing and the smell was unbearable and horrific! We ended up calling hotels.com, bless their heart, saved us and started calling different hotels in the area. Thank God for Jazz at Lighthouse Lodge, who was available in person at 1am to help us out with the transfer and booking. They came through for us at a critical time and saved us! 5 stars for hotels.com and Lighthouse. I would give Rosedale 0 stars but that was not an option!

The room was OK. However. We could not adjust the volume on the TV remote. When we discovered the problem, the office had closed and no one was available. And so it stayed that way for the balance of our stay. No one on the staff remaining for the weekend knew how to fix the problem.

Staff was very good. Room was livable only. A lot of rusty things (tp holder, fridge, window areas). Smelly furniture.
The biggest problem was no water pressure. There was none. Shower and bath had almost no flow. Had to wash in the sink.
I call it deferred maintenance

This is an aging motel with an apparently declining interest in investment and maintenance. The bed was comfortable, the in-room heater worked well. The furniture well worn and old. The shower worked well, but the tub had lost much of its seal with the wall. A bathroom light bulb no longer worked. The continental breakfasts once offered are a thing of the past. If you want to be close to the beach at Pacific Grove, the location is excellent. Over the years, we have stayed at the Rosedale Inn many times, but I suspect this was our last. We prefer a place a bit more updated and with bathrooms better maintained.

We liked the kitchenette, the big bathtub, how spacious the room was, and easy free parking. Thanks for providing some dishes and metal utensils, that was really helpful.

Nice location, reasonable, friendly and clean

Booked a room last minute for reasonable price. Ideally located next to Asilomar and a short, pleasant walk to the Fishwife. Make sure to check in by 8:00 pm, we almost missed it. We would have enjoyed spending more time relaxing in and around the room, but we were helping to chaperone and drive a large group of high school kids who camped at Veteran's Park. I recommend this place if the price is right, and if you want to walk directly to beach or go bike riding. Aside from the Fishwife, it's a short jaunt to Pacific Grove downtown or to other chill restaurants/Safeway just up the hill by David and Highway 68.

Every time we go, the fireplace never works. The water smells a little off and on this occasion, our door didn’t work so we left early we weren’t able to get in and out of our room. The attendant tried his best to help, but it just became awkward with someone sitting in our room all day trying to get the door to work. The door itself is a bit archaic that attended himself says, and it hasn’t been replaced since the 90s

The property itself was Okay.
Interior and exterior are outdated.
When we arrived at the property, we reminded we have stayed this hotel in 2017. We checked the photos of our past stay and found out there's no upgrade since then and they have offered free continental breakfast, but no longer in their amenity.
Especially, the water pressure of the bath is extremely low and it took more than an hour to fill hot water in the tub for the in-room jacuzzi.
This hotel needs more upgrade to attract customer.

I had an accident a few months ago and in a whhelchair for a bit. They gave us a really nice wheelchair accessible room with a 🔥 and a jetted tub that was easy to climb in and out of. It was heaven
We kept the window open since the weather was perfect and we heard a noise outside. It was a deer munching on the plants in the back looking back at us! It was so much fun

I was extremely tired when I arrived from driving on the road 2 days. The man at the desk was very nice I was allowed to check in 2 hrs early which was very appreciated. The room was very cozy with a fireplace and 2 cushioned chairs. Bed was very comfortable. I will return if in the area again.

Good Peace and Quiet in Older Facility

The room was a good size with a small table and 2 chairs included, was comfortable and quiet as well. We had some problems with electricity as ceiling fan and some light switches did not work. We found on our own that could be corrected by pressing the red reset button in a bathroom outlet. We had food on the kitchenette which brought a lot of ant activity. One night some animal got into an outdoor trash bin that had an open top design and scattered food all over. The whirlpool tub had large remnants of non slip material on it, we did not use it but it was still clean. We rested well, the tv worked well as did the gas fireplace.

Sad and very run down

Don't be fooled by the \" luxury \" advertised. Peeling wallpaper , patched carpeting , missing toilet paper holder , flimsy screens , ragged carpet, bathroom door looked like it had been chewed by an animal , employee had to bend the plug to get the heater to work , trash outside the door was never emptied even though it was full . The grounds are unkempt with no attempt to make the place look nice . The sun terrace is a joke , 2 filthy tables with 3 chairs , one of them with broken slats .

The bed was fairly comfortable and it was quiet , but wouldn't ever stay again.
