My room, which was a lower level with a kitchen, was convenient to the beach and the pool. The one turn off about the property for me was the parking situation. Sharkys customers are allowed to park in the same area as the people that are paying to stay at The Reef and it causes a big inconvenience for the people paying to stay there and its not fair. Something should be done about that. Parking for non resort guests should be across the road in the overflow with the exception of handicapped individuals. As far as my room went it was clean, but the lock on the door to the beach side was messed up. The bathtub wouldn't stop up and there was a leak from the ceiling in the bathroom above the toilet. Also the bathroom door had a hole in the bottom as if someone kick it, who knows when. I won't be staying here again unless they get together honestly.

The rooms were never cleaned on a 7 day stay, after asking numerous times. Had to take trash out myself and keep going to office to get more basic sanitary items and towels. Staff was all nice, but never got anything accomplished. Parking is terrible because they share with Sharkys restaurant.

Started off at the Reef and it was disgusting! Couldn't go out and sit because of the water standing at the door. The pool was dirty. They did move us up to the Sea Haven ( staff was super friendly and helpful) and it was ok. It did look like the room hadn't been dusted in quite a while. Not sure that we would stay there again

I knew about the place for stayed there just chief place like at five for one night is old motel needs updating really bad. The rooms is OK probably 40 out of 100 on the ring that was fairly clean and had a leak in the wall, but we left that watering floor, but they were staff was really good though the Bill just needs remodeling you know that's biggest thing great location by Sharkey, which I love on the beach 20 steps to the beach great they just need to upgrade the whole thing. It's just a really old old hotel motel like the old-time motel shotgun motel like all I knew though about it before I went there so I was thinking I just wouldn't stay there a long time one night is good.

Our stay was somewhat unusual in comparison to other hotel stays. We expected our room to be cleaned each day & clean sheets to be placed on the bed each day. But, that wasn't the case. We had to ask for new towels/wash clothes each time we needed them. We had a issue w/the microwave and the maintenace man was kind enough to bring a new one to the room. We had to buy ice each day as we needed it & the machine was sometimes difficult to read as the sun was glaring on the screen & made it hard to read to see when it was time to open the door to get the bags of ice. Hair dryers are no longer an adminity to the room & I had to ask for one. A staff member was kind enough to find one for me & bring it to our room. Other than these issues, the stay was okay.

The room was clean. That’s the only good part about the stay. Both chairs on the balcony were broke the love seat/pull out was stained and had holes in it. Parking was very bad. So plan on parking in an over flow lot about a 1/2 block down across the street. A manager called about my 1st review and said he would refund 1 of my 2 night stays. That has yet to happen.

The hotel is in a great location but the rooms are worn out and in desperate need of an update and remodel. No hot water even after maintenance reset the hot water heater. The bed was so worn out that they sunk down jn the middle. Stove was worn and didn't work properly. The worst part of the whole place was the pool was disgusting! The 3 nights we were there the pool or area around it was not cleaned! There was either dog poop ( seahaven is not pet friendly) of human poop on the pool deck and it had not been cleaned the whole time. One thing for sure is that we will NEVER stay there again and i will definitely never recommend it to anyone!

The lamp next to the bed was dusty and had dead bugs on it. There was no pillowcases in the pillow you have to walk two businesses over to get to the front desk. No way to contact the front desk directly. There was a party with a bonfire happening outside my door from 9:30-12am. Had a child screaming (like a 10 year old) right outside my door at 11:20ish. I have a 1 1/2 year old so trying to go to sleep was hard. Mind you the hotel states that “quiet time” is at 10 and it’s “strictly enforced”. Could not get the door to the beachside open. When I let the front desk know the next morning that there was no pillowcases cases on the pillows and we had to cover them with sheets she just rolled her eyes. I will never stay here again.

The location is great! It's a smaller hotel right on the beach. It is beside sharks and shares a parking lot so you will likely have to park in the lot across the street. We stayed in a room with a kitchen. The microwave did not work but the brought us one same night. The hotel is not updated so plugs were an issue. Over all if your on vacation for the beach and not the room its a good place to stay.

One of the absolute best places to stay. My family & I were overjoyed to be staying here again as we have made The Reef our yearly vacation spot. We got there early this year and they did their best to get us in the room as soon as they could. The staff is very nice and helpful. The rooms are clean and you can request housekeeping to clean your room after a couple days stay. They do a nice job. We love the reef!

Room was very dirty, my granddaughters feet were black after 15 minutes in the room, beer can and solo cup full of cigarettes on the balcony. There were NO wash cloths, hand towels or bath mat. The chairs on the balcony were broke and jagged. Don’t waste your money, time or families safety on this place

This room had no phone, the coffee machine had no coffee pot and the beds were horrible. The electricity went off mins after I arrived. I felt very unsafe staying here so I went to another hotel. I tried to get a refund, but they said they could not give me one. I would not recommend this place for anyone.

For what it is it’s a good place to sleep. Paying for ice is a real A$$hat move. Parking is most likely not on property so bring a wagon or wheels on your stuff. Rooms ok. Dial soaps and conditioners so bring your own. But the views. Right on the beach and short walk to the beach. Showers got location. Left the door to balcony open all night and it was awesome. For the price and zero BS frees or deposit was good stay. Not Great… good. Location is away from attractions.

Floor was so dirty it turned the bottom of your feet black, door frame trim was broke ( it cut my 5 year old) fire alarm chirped all night , asked for a replacement battery and couldn’t get one. View of the beach is beautiful!! First time staying here, I usually stay at SeaHaven (Sister motel) which isn’t a lot better but it’s cleaner and cheaper usually!! Parking is a nightmare due to it sharing a parking lot with Sharkeys …which almost always puts you down and across the street from the motel. The 2 ladies at check in had zero interest in their job and was just rude. I will never stay here again!

The room was nicer than I had anticipated to be honest. It was pretty clean. Spacious for what we paid. I loved being on the ground floor and did not think I would enjoy that, but walking straight in from the beach was perfect for us! It was quite noisy at times but it was during week 1 of spring break so I knew there would be late nights on and around the property. The location was perfect walking distance to many restaurants and pier park. Will keep this and the other Seahaven Properties saved to favorites so long as the affordable prices stay close!

We usually stay at Sea Haven for Thunder beach bike week. Love their staff usually clean and helpful. The reef was extremely disappointing due to lack of care from staff. Parking was a joke. Couldn’t get pillows so didn’t have for pull out sofa bed. The person stationed outside to help direct traffic should be fired. Just stood there letting cars go whatever way they wanted to to the point the traffic jam was ludicrous. Ha someone park a motorcycle behind ours in a space that didn’t have a parking pass for your hotel and was told by a employee that it did t really matter because we could get our bikes out if we know how to move our bikes. At one point our keys didn’t work so the ga e new keys and sent us back up to the room three times before an actual employee went up to fix the issue. If you’re going to be involved with the festivities that bring a lot of people and money to your hotel you should be more concerned with your guests. Having to share parking with a restaurant and their not be designated parking for your hotel guests is also ludicrous. Our room was not clean and towels we did get had public hair on them. Never again! Extremely disappointed

No parking. We had to pay to park 3 blocks away and walk to the hotel. Stagnant wet smell everywhere as well as the over whelming scent of old pot and tobacco. When I walked around in the hotel room with just my sock, I had to throw them away. The mattress was sunk in the middle and flipped upside down. No patio furniture/chair. We will NEVER stay here again!

Roaches! The inside of the microwave was disintegrating. Our tub didn’t drain for the first day. Roaches! The ceiling above the bed look like it was going to cave in. The view was beautiful. But the furniture is well over due for cleaning. Later that evening i noticed we did have any wash cloths, so my wife called the font desk and informed them, we were told the front desk closes at 6. And we would have to come down to the sister hotel down the road and get them our selves. So we had to walk a great deal to get there because parking is very limited, and didn't want to lose our space and end up having to park down the road. Oh and there's no phone in the rooms to call the front office.

The room had clean sheets, but the beds were broken and sunken in. The water was barely warm, so bathing and washing dishes was difficult. Bare bones kitchen. No room phone so getting ahold of the office is hard. They do not provide a bathtub stopper so if you need a bathtub you just have to run water. Parking was an absolute NIGHTMARE. I have a child in a wheelchair and having parking was important and something I made sure of before booking, but they extra parking was across the street and I could not cross the busy street with him and our belongings safely. Also the area has very little aces with sidewalks so walking wasn’t an option. Good location and nice section of the beach.

Room description talks about the pull out couch but no sheets or covers or anything were left for it. Didn’t say we needed to bring our own. Pool area was dirty. Wet toilet paper, kitchen spoons and trash all over the place. Majority of the pool chairs had bird all over them as well as the pool deck. The cleanliness overall was a 0 out of 10. Only good thing about the room was the view of the ocean.

But most of all the smoke detector started going off in our room at midnight. Security came and unplugged it from the wall and placed it on the table. Once he left it started going off non stop. He took to long to come back to the room so I took it to them. Asked if we couldn’t get the FD to make sure it’s not carbon monoxide because I had 6 people that will be sleeping and we wanted to wake up in the morning. They refused. So I called them myself.

It’s right on the beach so the view was great. We had a balcony as well and they had 2 chairs out there. It would have been nice to have had a light out there but it worked out for us. All the staff I interacted with were very friendly. It wasn’t the cleanest but it wasn’t the worst I have ever seen. Our deadbolt wouldn’t lock and there was also a big gap at the bottom of the door. It definitely made us nervous. But we rigged it up and we were ok with it. The curtain for the window kept popping off and was super annoying. It has a pool but we didn’t get in. It seemed pretty well kept tho. The one thing I couldn’t stand is the parking lot is shared with Sharkys. Sharkys got busy around 2 until 12. So if you drove somewhere it was pretty impossible to find a parking spot. They do have extra park a block away but it was just inconvenient for us. Then senor’ frogs is on the other side of the hotel. And it was loud until around midnight/1. But you really couldn’t hear it inside the room but on the balcony you could.
Overall, I would still recommend and stay here again. It was a great view.
