The property is an older single story motel not hotel, meaning you drive up, and park in front of your room. This is convenient for unloading and loading, although, you may be far away from the office where the breakfast is. The property is very well maintained, and the breakfast was good.

Can't say how impressed we were with this hotel. Small independently owned but clearly take a lot of pride in keeping the place clean secure and comfortable. We saying a lot of hotels throughout the year and most in this price category are average to run down. This one was in Superior shape for a small independent operator. We appreciate the effort they put into this place

It is clean motel. The owners try to take care of it. It is visible. However, the impression was broken by the heavy smell of old and wet house, probably mold, in the room, steaky floors, and old blanket coverings, yaky to touch. For some reason the receptionist gave us the room for handycapped people although we are not and didn't ask about. We choose this hotel because of 9 stars reviews but in my opinion these reviews were bought. This is motel, not hotel. And this is good, but not wonderful. I give the good star because otherwise it was clean and good price for value.

A wonderful stay!! Thoughtful additions like chairs to sit on right outside your door or tropical looking tables and chairs super close by. Breakfast was awesome!!!! And the breakfast area was clean!! But that mattress- I have NEVER wanted to take a hotel mattress home with me but that was the first thing I told my husband when I woke up!!! A great place- we will return and recommend to our friends!!!!

TL,DR - I would stay here again.

Pros: the location can’t be beat. It’s around 35 mins to the airport. It’s 20 minutes or so to both Biscayne and Everglades National Parks. There are multiple restaurants within easy walking distance. The pool was nice and clean with plenty of seating. The breakfast was pretty basic, but it was still good. The lady that checked us in was as very nice- she gave a list of restaurants that offered discounts to their customers and recommended her favorite Mexican restaurant.

Cons: the beds have a thin metal skirting under them that pops every single time you turn over. It was incredibly annoying. The bed itself wasn’t uncomfortable, but we slept horribly because of the constant noises from the metal. In addition to the popping, the AC made it hard to sleep. We had it set as low as it would go, and it still didn’t cool very well.

Overall, I would likely stay here again simply for the location and the price.

This lodging option is incredible for the price. The staff is outstanding. As a solo female traveler, I feel safe at this hotel. I like that this property is off the main road behind other buildings so that guests cannot hear the traffic noise from the nearby busy highway. I like that all the rooms are on the ground floor with an assigned parking space that is literally four feet from the door of the hotel room. I like that the maintenance people are easily identifiable with driving a golfcart on the property and the they respond quickly to issues (such as the battery needed to be changed in the electronic lock on my hotel room door). I like that the maintenance staff can be seen working each day to make sure the amenities and essentials are working well (for example, one day while I was at the hotel, the maintenance crew were servicing the heat/A/C units). Sending a grateful \"Thank You!\" to the staff and management of this hotel.

The accommodation was reasonably priced and included breakfast, something not many if the hotels in the keys did. Sunny was very pleasant and told us all about the amenities in the area, some with discounts. A great place to stay on the trip back to Miami, also had a pool which was needed in the heat. Would reccomend this gem.

Front desk checked us into an already occupied room and gave us keys that let us into this room, didn’t realize their error until we went back to the front desk to tell them. Small flies in the room and the “VIP drink” was two room-temperature water bottles.

The motel entrance sign needs to be much larger as I missed the turn in a couple of times despite using GPS. Breakfast was excellent with numerous choices. I would definitely stay here again. The room was neat and well cleaned.

What a lovely place! Clean, super friendly and helpful staff, and great breakfast options (warm and cold). We were pleasantly surprised when we drove around to our room. All the areas were landscaped and included seating areas and a number of people were sitting in these areas talking. It felt like a comfortable neighborhood setting. Absolutely LOVED it and will definitely stay here again when in the area.

I was pleasantly surprised by this Travelodge. Check-in was super easy, the room was clean and rather large, the grounds were well maintained, it was close the highway so it was easy to get down to the Keys, and the breakfast was really good. We stayed at other hotels/inns during our stay in different parts of the Keys and this was just as good at the fraction of the cost. It doesn't have a view but is a great stay along the way hotel.

Probably best bang for the buck hotel in the past 20 years. For a very reasonable fee, you get a clean room with modern amenities, a helpful staff and convenient easy access to fuel and food. Several times, I saw a staff member drive by in a golf cart checking the parking lot. Unusually good experience only slightly spoiled by a slightly dirty shower -- but the rest of the place was great! Better than other places I have stayed at substantially more $.

Motel was quaint, but the typical motel I expect to find in the 1960's. The room was clean, staff were very helpful and hotel is within walking distance from a 24/7 diner. Motel was conveniently located on Highway 1, which is the gateway to the Keys. Mattress was comfortable and they provided every size and thickness of pillow one could want. Due to construction, the enterence is a nightmare. Not the motels fault, but still not ideal.

I have never given a 5 star review....until now. Everything about this establishment is first rate and top shelf. From the friendly staff to the excellent room and property, I can't find a thing to complain about! Sunny and Lee take great care of their guests. And the Masala Mandala Indian food truck is the BEST! The location is right outside Key Largo, so if you want to visit but can't afford the high rent in the keys, you can't do better than the Travelodge in Florida City!

I enjoyed my stay at this Travelodge. It has a pretty good location that roughly splits the difference between the Keys and Miami. I liked the breakfasts and the room was clean and comfortable. I also liked how each room had a dedicated parking spot. If 3 stars is average then this Travelodge is above average. If I ever go back to the Keys I will definitely consider staying here again.

What a great motel. Wonderful staff, clean rooms (nothing fancy), with tiki hut tables outside room and around pool. Laundry right off the pool area so you can relax there and do laundry. Perfect location between Everglade and Bicayne National Park. We had just got off from a cruise out of Miami and it worked perfect for out National Park roadtrip and kick off for our visit to the Keys.

The room had a somewhat musty odor, but it cleared some when we opened the door for a few minutes. The bed linens looked, smelled and felt freshly laundered. The room was clean. Breakfast was far better than expected, with multiple options and an outdoor seating area. Staff kept the area clean and stocked. This is obviously an older property, but the overall value for the money is great.

Booked this hotel for an overnight trip to the Keys and had a great experience. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and both the room and surrounding areas were very clean.

Breakfast was well maintained—Viki did a great job keeping everything fresh and organized. There’s also a nice heated pool on site, which was a great bonus.

The hotel is in a convenient location, making it easy to get to the Keys, and close by shopping it offers great value for the price.

There was also on-site security patrolling throughout the night, which added a strong sense of safety.

Overall, a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Would definitely recommend!

The motel was conveniently located to the Everglads, which was what we were looking for. There is a Publix and Walmart close by, and several fast food restaurants. The staff was frienldy, and the grounds were clean. Breakfast was good with hot items including eggs, sausage and make your own waffles. Our room was very clean. The only downside was the cleaners they use are pretty strong and irritated my eyes a little, but I am sensitive to smell. And the wall a/c was challenged to get the moisture out of the air.
