The hotel was very conveniently situated, only a few minutes walk from the Trevi Fountain. The tourist sites, from the Colosseum to St. Peter's Basilica, were within my walking distance, although may be a bit far for other people. The room was clean and comfortable, and had good air conditioning which I definitely needed. There was a small supermarket next door, and plenty of shops and restaurants within easy walking distance. The breakfast was generally good but with a limited range of hot food. My room overlooked the street and there was some noise late at night, particularly on the weekend. Very friendly, helpful staff and I liked bring given a paper copy of the city map to carry with me. A good place to stay.

Perfect stay at wonderful Hotel Dei Borgognoni

We have stayed at this lovely hotel many times and again had a fabulous stay. The location is wonderful - situated in central location yet quiet and peaceful. The staff is always delightful, they are very kind, caring and helpful. It is like seeing old friends whenever we return here. We especially appreciate wonderful Front Desk staff members Luca and Angelo. The hotel has a lovely lobby, beautiful sitting area, cozy bar, and nice breakfast area. The rooms and bathrooms are large and extremely well equipped and are immaculately clean and very comfortable. The bathrooms have huge counterspace, thick soft towels, thick robes and slippers, and nice toiletries. Breakfast is included and offer many delicious options. There are eggs, bacon, sausage, beans, breads, cereals, yougurt, fruit, cakes, croissants, coffees and teas, one may even prepare fresh squeezed orange juice! Great hotel, well priced, and highly recommended.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel. Some areas worth commenting on include:

Location: Nicely situated between Spanish Step (shopping area) and Roma Termini (train station). This makes is convenient to walk to food and shops or take public transportation. (I did a lot of walking and exploring.) I've stayed at the Spanish Step previously, but I liked this hotel as it was a little farther from all the crowded mess.

Rooms: Well sized and clean. I really like some of the small details such as having shampoo and conditioner supplied. Also very important is having a comfortable bed that isn't too firm.

Price: Staying in central part of Rome will cost more and this is expecting. I felt this this hotel was priced well for the area it's in (and is one of the big reasons for chosing this hotel).

Love this place! From a warm welcome at check-in, friendly service at breakfast, to great suggestions on dining options, Dei Borgognoni is the best place to stay in Rome.

Our room was very clean and housekeeping was like clockwork, our room was spotless when we returned each day for a nap.

We were within walking distance to Trevi Fountain, Colosseum, Forum, and so many shops! But what really made our vacation was the staff. This is a must stay hotel.

We arrived after a long flight to a friendly, welcoming family like environment. You couldn’t ask for a better location. Walk 2 blocks to Trevi fountain. Walk the other way to Spanish steps. The hotel recommended restaurants that were top notch. Whenever we needed a taxi or info, they were helpful. The bar/restaurant area staff were fun and made us feel relaxed. The rooms were clean and comfortable with many amenities. This hotel was the perfect pick!

Great Location but needs an update.

I’ll start out by saying that the hotel is in an EXCELLENT location, which is the main reason I reserved it…extremely close to the Metro, Trevi Fountain, and Spanish Steps. We had 2 rooms, as a family of 5. Both rooms were quite small. The air conditioning doesn’t get “American” cold and actually shut off in the middle of one of our nights. It was about 84°F/28°C overnight (100°F during the day) so it got HOT. The other nights were still not as comfortably cool as we like them because the A/C wouldn’t cool the room enough. The elevators are TINY…3 people max. My claustrophobia got the best of me on that and most of the time I walked the 4 flights of stairs instead. Both rooms had showers with a slanted ceiling (we were on the top floor) you could hit your head on and a very slippery tub to stand in. Oh and there were quite a few ants in the one bathroom. The attentiveness of the front desk and service in the breakfast/bar area was great…you can tell they worked with what they could. I just think the hotel itself needs to be updated/upgraded. I feel it was the happenin’ place back in the day (based on the outdated decor) but needs a facelift to become that again.

Wonderful stay at lovely hotel in prime location

We had a wonderful stay at lovely Hotel Dei Borgognoni - we have stayed here before & again another delightful time. The hotel is located in excellent location between Trevi Fountain and Piazza di Spagna. The hotel front desk staff are polite, friendly, & helpful - especially Luca and Ahmed. The breakfast staff are friendly and kind - especially Paulo! Also Massimo was very kind and helpful. The hotel is decorated nicely with a large beautiful, relaxing sitting area - with sofas and tables, and always available cold water with lemons or herbs. There is also a very nice cozy bar. There is a quiet charming atmosphere in the sitting area and bar- not loud and chaotic. The breakfast is included and offers a wide selection of tasty items: eggs, sausage, cold cuts, breads & rolls, pastries & cakes, cereals, yogurts, fruits, some veggies, and oranges to make your own fresh-squeezed juice, teas, coffees - (the cappucino is excellent!) Our room was nicely decorated and extremely comfortable and quiet, we were delighted to have our own private patio with table & chairs.The room was well appointed with fridge, coffee/tea maker, safe, large closet, large comfortable bed. It was extremely comfortable with good air conditioning. The bathroom was spacious with nice toiletries, big towels, large tub with shower head. Bedroom & bathroom were spotlessly clean and the cleaning staff were friendly & extremely efficient. Thank you Hotel Dei Borgognoni & Staff for a fantastic 10 star stay!

The location was an excellent choice. We could walk to Trevi, Spanish Steps and the Pantheon from hotel location. We had a family type room for three and it was very nice. Need to update laundry form, very archaic. We were traveling for two weeks and needed to have laundry done. F/M wear t-shirts. No city views, but breakfast was wonderfully presented every morning by their wait staff. The rest of the staff were helpful too. Bellmen greeted you and were cheerful at the door. We felt safe in the city hotel. We definitely would stay again when we return to Rome. .

Room was quiet, clean -- loved the wood flooring and the amenities provided. As the hotel is an older property, there was a slight stagnant smell whenever we entered the room, but that quickly dissipated once we turned on the fan. The concierge was extremely helpful and allowed us to extend our stay in our original room not just once, but twice at a reasonable rate, and always greeted us warmly. Via del Corso and Via Condotti were a few minutes walk away which made shopping very convenient, and I loved walking by the Trevi Fountain almost daily.

The staff here are incredible! So friendly and willing to go above and beyond to help. Room was a great size for Rome. Very comfortable, bar fridge and only hotel we came across that had an iron and ironing board actually in your room.

Breakfast was so fresh and delicious. You could not get a better location with Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Pantheon and Piazza Navona all within a few minutes walk. All restaurant recommendations made to us by the hotel were also incredible. When we come back to Rome…we will absolutely be booking back here again!

Excellent experience with central location, friendly staff services, and good size room (which seems bigger than the quoted size) which was quiet (as facing an interior courtyard). The photos which give the impression of a dated interior do not give full justice as the interior finish is very fine and all in working order. Excellent stay at this fantastic hotel! The hotel is lovely with fancy decor and extremely clean, the staff is kind, caring, and helpful - especially Christina and Ahmed. The location in historical Rome is perfect. The breakfast was tasty and the coffees made-to-order were delicious. There is a beautiful relaxing lounge area, cozy bar, and lovely reception area. From check-in to check-out, the staff could not have been more helpful. We were traveling with my one year old grandchild and they even put a bottle warmer in the room. The hotel is super clean, beautifully decorated and within walking distance to many tourist attractions, dining and shopping.
We would definitely stay there again. Special mention to Christina at the front desk who speeded things up so we could check in early and arranged our transportation to the airport.

The water coming from the shower smelled terrible! It smelled like rotten eggs, so clearly there is some issues with the pipes because the water smelt like sewage. The ceiling of the bathroom was full or cracks and peeling off, probably because of water damage or humidity issues. The bathroom itself was incredible old fashioned, and the towels didn’t smell nice either. The air conditioning in the room did not work. The bed was uncomfortable and the bedding smelled bad as well, like it has been sitting there for years. It didn’t smell like clean laundry. The chair in the room should be replaced because most of the color has faded and parts of the wood peeled off. There were terrible amenities. No shower cap which is basic. No offering of a complementary water bottle which is standard in most hotels especially when you pay 200 euros a night for the smallest room for 1 person. The staff at the reception were standoffish as well but honestly that wasn’t the worst part. The room itself was clearly the main issue in the hotel. Can’t comment on the breakfast because I did not try it.
