Hotel Alane was perfect for our needs - Gare de l'Est metro is just around the corner, and yet our room was peaceful at night as it overlooked a side street. We didn't use the air conditioning much, but it was handy to have it there to cool down the room for a few minutes. The staff on reception were really friendly and the housekeeping was excellent as we always returned to an immaculate room after a day's exploring.

The room was clean, though extremely cramped for the price. The biggest issue was a foul odor coming from the bathroom drain — at times nearly unbearable and something that shouldn't be acceptable in any hotel. The A/C was also a major disappointment; despite the heat wave hitting Paris, it simply wasn't functional enough to cool the room to a comfortable temperature. On top of that, the walls are paper-thin — street noise and sounds from neighboring rooms came through constantly, making it difficult to get a decent night's sleep.

That said, the staff were friendly and clearly tried their best to make our stay comfortable, which was appreciated. The location is also a highlight — convenient and within easy reach of public transit.

Overall, with a few improvements to maintenance and room insulation, this could be a solid option. I would personally avoid this hotel for now and look for another option.

Overall, the hotel was ok as my friend and I were out most of the day and got back at 9pm.
The smell of drains was something we didn't like.
We had to advise reception to replenish the toilet paper and hand soap.
It's quite a small room.
Overall, the hotel is very central to the metro, bus station and the international Gare De Nord station it has quite a few supermarkets, restaurants, patisserie etc.

I stayed for one night. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. Paris has been extremely hot over the past week, with temperatures reaching 33°C, but the air conditioning in the room was not working properly. In addition, the shower body wash and shampoo containers were empty, and there were no napkins provided in the room. I hope these issues can be improved for future guests.

Great property, for a a price contious traveller like myself.. Staff were always welcoming and informative. Walked to every favorite tourist spot from the hotel easily, including a beautiful evening walk back from the eiffel tower which took us an hour and a half. The 2 top floor rooms provide for more then enough room for 2, and have everything you need.

I stayed at Hotel Alane for 4 nights. It is a great location if you are arriving by train at Gare du Nord (10 minute walk), and is 3 minutes walk to metro station Gare de L'est, making it convenient to access public transportation. The staff at the reception desk are very friendly and helpful. I would skip the breakfast.

Great staff, very clean room. Do note that the 10th arrondissement is loud and police sirens were ongoing throughout the night. If you are a light sleeper you will need ear plugs. Other than this, just a few blocks away from Gare du Nord, and on the 4 Metro Line, so easy to get anywhere in the city.

Room was all we needed on the small side so be aware if your looking for a bigger space but we weren't fussed as it was one night. So easy to get to from the Gare Du Nord station after getting off the Eurostar. Only thing to consider is it's very very noisy outside. I don't know if it's because we aren't used to that! That's not the hotel that's cars etc but I would recommend ear plugs if your not used to noise at night!

The room was very clean and tidied up every morning (I stayed there for two nights) but it was not too warm. However, when I asked the receptionist, he turned up the temperature on their controller and it was much better after. One more drawback was the lack of soap in the shower dispenser but fortunately I had my own gel so that was not a problem for me.
The hotel is situated near the main road and it was quite noisy, even at night (police sirens), but if your room faces the back, you should not have that problem.
The location provides an easy access to Gare du Nord/East stations and local cafes and brasseries.
The receptionist were very helpful and polite.
Overall, I had a good stay there.

It was a bit noisy, the noise insulation between rooms isn't the best. The Hotel is conveniently located but on a noisy Blvd.

The rooms had the basics but not any more. i.e. Tea/coffee and safe. Some had a wardrobe others open hanging space. The later rooms seemed larger Hotel breakfast simple and basic but more than adequate. Again the dining area was very cramped. The area around the hotel felt safe and had an excellent choice of dining/drinking options. Room prices I believe were very competitive for Paris. Would I stay again. Yes.

My stay at Hotel Alane was extremely disappointing. The owner's behavior seemed discriminatory, and I felt targeted. When I reported the AC issue in my room, which had been a recurring problem according to previous reviews, the management's response was unprofessional. They accused me of causing disturbances based on recordings of other guests, which was not only unfair but also invasive. It felt like they were looking for ways to justify keeping my money and avoid providing a refund. The reviews on this platform don't seem to reflect my experience, and I suspect they might be curated. I would caution others to be aware of the potential issues with this hotel.

Excellent location with restaurants and cafés everywhere and just around the corner from the Gare de l'est and 10 mins walk from Gare de Nord. Bathrooms are tiny but this is to be expected in Europe. The Kettle and tea in the room was nice. Bed is a double only and not the regular 2 singles pushed together. This hotel is excellent but you need ear plugs as the walls are thin and it seemed to be a major route for sirens. Still, I would highly recommend this hotel.

Location was good as close to Gare de L'Est and a short walk from Gare du Nord. Concierge staff were friendly and helpful.
Our room was small but practical.
Air-conditioning actually worked.
The bed and bedding were clean and comfortable.
Free Wi-Fi.
Clean towels.
Free tea and coffee in the bedroom.

Cons
The bedroom decor was in need of attention.
The bathroom glass vanity shelf was sloped forward so most items were sliding off. We had to place wet tissue to stop this.
The mirror light didn’t work.
The shower cubicle was very tight given I'm 5'10 and broad upper body.
Breakfast was served in the basement. The space was small with 8 small table with barely enough room to get to the breakfast bar without knocking into someone or something.
The breakfast menu was limited; choice of 2 cereals, sliced brioche, pain aux chocolat and croissants/apple pie, boiled eggs that you had to wait to be cooked in a 6-egg electric cooker, plain/fruit yoghurt, apple/orange juice, coffee machine, selection of teas, jam/honey/Nutella minis, a selection of non-halal meats and cheeses along with butter and finally apples/oranges.
No sauces
Only 1 salt shaker which everyone shared.

Overall, if you're solo or using it just as a base, then you'll be fine. If you're planning on relaxing for several hours without feeling boxed in, might want to consider a larger room than the double room we had.

This quaint little hotel is a very short distance from Gare De L'est and Gare Du Nord, very easy to get around aris from here. The rooms are clean and confortable and the staff are very friendly. We were warmly welcomed.
Dont bother looking at the others around here, if you want a clean comfortable cheap hôtel, this is the best.

I'm so glad I stayed in this area. I liked that it's set a little away from the heart of tourist sights. Yet, it's easy enough to walk and take the metro anywhere of interest. Being in the 10th arrondissement gave me a better, more diverse feel of Paris. I think if you are on the 3rd-6th floors, you'll love the balcony views too!

I thought it was a lovely hotel and staff was wonderful . Worked perfectly for my stay . Didn’t give 5 stars because I had to ask for a fridge or a bin to be brought in (which they did and was great) but just thinking it shouldn’t have to be asked for some with body wash which wasn’t refilled until I inquired. Other than that it was absolutely perfect and clean . One of the most pleasant staff members I saw in hotels all over the world

Great price for an excellent location and stay! The room was small but offered everything we needed. Beautiful views of the city and great location near the train stations. If you are sensitive to noise, you may not like the city noise, but I personally slept like a rock! The service was great, front desk gave us great recommendations and were super friendly.

Whilst the bedroom and bathroom were very small (a small shower!) they were very clean. With clean white bedding and towels changed every day.
The road outside is very noisy, but close the double glazed balcony doors and switch on the air con and you will keep cool and hardly hear the street noise.
The towels are too small and the electric sockets in our room needed some attention, but a couple of them worked fine.
Breakfast was good value for13 euros each.
The staff are kind and helpful and speak good English.
Hotel is very close to Gare de L’Est SNCF and metro station.

We had a corner room with two French balconies and great Paris views. The hotel is close to Gar du Nord, which was quite useful. It’s also close to the metro line and Canal Saint Martin, a very local Paris district. The only issue was the subtle smell coming from the toilet. It must be due to the buildings age and condition. Also the walls do not have great sound insulation. Otherwise, comfortable bed and everything was fine.

Hotel Alane is walkable from Gare de l'Est and Gare du Nord with luggage, which made it perfect for our one-night stay before flying out of Paris. Our room was cozy, but enough for our short-term purpose. The staff was very helpful and friendly. They arranged a taxi for us in the early morning. We were very pleased with our stay.
