It's fine. Comfortable bed, but room needs refreshing overall, stained rug and sofa. Ice machine not working and elevator buttons kept getting stuck. Can hear a lot of hall noise in the rooms. Generously sized room with surprisingly small bathroom.

Room dirty, asked for more pillows and was only give 1 when we needed more than 1, no one answered the phone at the front desk no matter what day or time we called, housekeeping does not clean rooms daily—-the hotel told us that they only clean rooms every other day, bathroom was dirty, carpet in elevators was nasty and matted down with what looked like black grease or oil

Staff were super nice and helpful. Breakfast buffet was the best. Staff members acknowledged us every time we left the room and coming back in. Bathroom was a little small but we made it work. Overall the staff members made our visit excellent!!

This property is in dire need of a refresh. The lobby area is very small, outdated & the whole property needs an update. The carpeting seemed dirty. Plants were visibly dead-yellow & drooped on the floor, the water in the lobby tasted like dirty tap water. Breakfast in the morning was tasty w/ plenty of options, however there wasn't staff dedicated to keeping the dining area clean: tables weren't wiped & dirty dishes piled up in different places. Not enough seating for all the guests eating. The coffee was empty & it took 10 mins to be replenished. There were no lids for to-go coffee cups.

The website advertised complimentary shuttle service to/from the Opryland Convention Center between the hours of 6a-8p, which is why we chose this property. When we checked in at 9pm after a long day of travel, we were warmly greeted by the front desk personnel. However, when we asked about the shuttle service for the next morning (we had a 7am meeting scheduled at the Convention Center), we were told the shuttle only runs from 8a-4p, due to insufficient staffing.

Our room was a decent size (king suite w/ living area), however the bathroom was extremely cramped & not well laid out. The toilet was in a very small \"room\" along with the shower, w/ barely room to close the door once you stepped inside. The closet was cramped & difficult to use bc of a small sliding door w/ 1/2 of the closet located behind the sink-top area.

Do yourself a favor & book @ the nearby Holiday Inn Express instead!

I NEVER leave reviews but this place warrants one. We didn’t have hot water the ENTIRE stay (4 nights). Dead bugs all in the room, our room was dirty upon arrival. Water damage all over the hotel and mold/mildew. The list goes ON AND ON. Avoid this hotel at all costs.

This hotel does not appear as advertised. The building and rooms are very old and outdated. Our room had pieces of trim coming off the wall, stains on the wall, curtains, and carpet. Limited outlets and poor work. The bathroom was incredibly small and poorly designed. The bed was comfortable though, and we all slept well. So, if you’re looking for a decent place to sleep without the higher cost, this would be it.

The check in was ok. The young lady was new however the manager was extremely dry and not welcoming. We had 2 rooms, which one room the heat did not work and the other the main phone was broken. The bathrooms you have to stand on the other side of the toilet in order to open and close door. There was rust on the ceiling of the shower and grout was black. They floors when we looked at the bottom of our socks were covered in white dog or cat hair. Only One Elevator worked and the flooring in the one was so warm down the carpet was gone. When checking out asked for my receipt to be emailed the lady said there was not email and handed me paper. Not a thank you for staying, have a great day just cold. This is unusual for a Hyatt. They really should update this location and possibly staff.

The cost was great, the staff were very friendly, and the breakfast in the morning was top notch. However, upon check in the General Manager warned us they currently didn't have hot water but it would be fixed the following day as the plumber was waiting on parts. The following day in the late afternoon there was still no hot water which was frustrating. I called down and asked about the status and the person at the front desk push it back another day but weren't 100% sure it would for sure be fixed. I contacted hotels.com as I felt some kind of discount was warranted for the inconvenience. I wasn't asking for a full refund because I stated the hotel was nice and the staff was friendly. However, when hotels.com contacted the hotel the person at the front desk wouldn't approve a discount because they said we weren't given an expected time when we would get hot water which was FALSE. Upon check in we WERE told it would be the next day!!!!

I would stay here again but it was VERY frustrating as it was in the middle of the ice storm.

This property is filthy and smells like a sewer. The elevators looked like they hadn't been cleaned in weeks. The only staff we saw was the front desk associate, and he seemed to be busy handling guest complaints and shuffling rooms for unhappy guests. Our room was laid out in a very strange manner, with the water closet room door opening right next to the bed which was fairly unpleasant. The vanity and sink are out in the bedroom, so you disturb other people in the room if you need to get ready while they are sleeping. The breakfast buffet had food items that were hard and old-looking, like the waffles. Most of the food was mislabeled, which could be an issue for those with allergies. I moved the labels myself to the correct spot since this seemed to be an issue for the staff to complete. We had to pay $8 to park our car in a regular lot (not a garage) with no security or anything special about it. Why am I paying $8 to self-park my car in a regular parking lot? There were signs in the elevators posted that they didn't have service staff, and guests were told the shuttle to the Grand Old Opry wasn't available due to being in for maintenance (which I'm guessing they just didn't have anyone to operate it). This property overall was such a huge disappointment for the Hyatt brand. It was filthy and disgusting, and I just felt dirty being there. Would not recommend to anyone.

We chose the Hyatt due to it being one of our favorite brands but this hotel was seriously lacking- especially in the cleanliness department. The rooms are outdated and mostly carpeted and the carpet looked like it was in need of a good and deep cleaning! From what I saw, the hotel is pet-friendly but also tries to be eco friendly by reserving housekeeping to every 2 nights. Our room looked exactly that way, dingy damp and dusty. I wish they would update that rule to being optional for cleanliness as they also encouraged tipping the housekeeping staff (with a huge sticker on the hotel room mirror), which we didn’t do bc our room was not cleaned nor towels replaced in our 2 night stay.
Also paying for parking on the hotel lot is crazy as there was no security on site so that was a bogus fee!
The location overall was great but the hotel rooms needs some upgrades to be considered 3 star!

Before there was a Nashville, there was a trail. Buffalo carved it through the cane and hills of Middle Tennessee, moving between salt licks that drew every living thing for miles.

Native hunters followed the buffalo. French traders followed the hunters.

Settlers widened the path into a road, and that road became Dickerson Pike. The Main House has been standing here since 1824, when it opened as Maple Manor, a ten-room property known for its garden parties, weddings, and community gatherings.

The Pike grew into the Dixie Highway, then into a stretch of mid-century motel boom. Guest buildings went up in the 1950s, the pool was poured in 1957, and in 1964 the property took on a new name: the Congress Inn.

Every generation found a reason to stop here. The name is a nod to the salt that started it all.

The ranch is what we built on top of it. Main House restored, rooms refreshed, pool back open.
