This Motel 6 was awful. Its located underneath the Newport bridge which is incredibly loud to start with. The smell in the air is very fishy which is normally fine near the coast but it was more strong than I remember. I wouldn't honestly be mentioning it though if the lobby didn't smell like piss... in fact, most of the motel smelled like piss! Thankfully our room was not affected other than the time it wafted into the bathroom in the middle of the night :(
There was no airflow in the room and no fan to accomodate. Generally it would be fine since there is a large window but we couldnt open it for the entire stay. It was just way too loud with all the massive trucks passing by on the bridge. It genuinely sounded like there was an airport right next to us... Our upstairs neighbors were also awful! They were running around and jumping on the floor just like our neighbors at home :) I guess that was the only way we felt \"at home\".

The bed was awful and we were given 3 pillows for a king size bed! When we asked for more we had to go down to the lobby and then we were offered 1 pillow... seriously?? 1 pillow? we obviously wouldnt let that fly and came back with 2 pillows! This still didnt prevent our necks from the turmoil of the night though. We also had a wonderful sounding exposed pipe system underneath our sink which also was neglected since there were no tissues in the tissue dispenser.
There was also little to no soap provided for either the sink or shower...

It’s Motel 6, so you’re not getting luxury here. But it’s a fine place to stay the night. The lobby and hallways have a somewhat musty smell, but I didn’t notice any in the actual rooms, thankfully. Everything worked fine and was in basically good condition, and it was plenty clean. The staff were friendly enough. too.

This is the only place in town.I could find a room.
It was a large jacuzzi room with a fantastic view.
The shower had no hot water. Refrigerator was hot.
Tv worked when it wanted to.
Large smelly garbage containers right in the middle of the parking lot.
By far , the most expensive place i've ever stayed at with nothing to offer (Over 245.00). Lobby closed early. 2 vending machines.
They said there would be coffee there in the morning.However , they did not open until seven forty five. You had to use a separate entrance. Nothing in the room. (Soap, tissues, shampoo, lotion) we did get tiolet paper. No a/c. Windows open was very load as we were right on the 101.
Next time I would sleep in my van before I stayed at this expensive motel. I guess it was my fault for assuming I could go into town and find a nice hotel the day I needed it.
It did have a comfortable bed.

Took forever to get hot water to the fixtures. A phone call to the front desk and we were told to just let it run longer, when it finally showed up, it would come and go, hot then cold, making for an unpleasant shower. They provided little soaps only, no shampoo or conditioner. The toilet was constantly running, so the tank was frequently refilling, all night too, annoying and noisy. Tried to use the in room spa tub and it shot water 15’ across the room. The whole motel is aging and upkeep is not keeping up. The bedding and linens are stained and worn thin. No complimentary breakfast. Floors were sticky. Balcony slider door wouldn’t slide, had to manhandle it so couldn’t use it. In room chairs were very uncomfortable. The little fridge put a layer of ice on our food. The card readers on the entry doors were very fickle, sometimes they worked, sometimes not so much. Our stay was overpriced considering what we had to put up with. Can’t recommend this place.

Room was clean, beds comfortable. I know staying somewhere during peak visiting times you are looking at higher prices for stays but for the price I feel like it was just okay. Water pressure in shower was terrible and ran out of hot water fairly quickly. Overall it was a clean comfortable place to sleep but that’s about it.

There's not much to say, it's a motel 6, overpriced in my opinion. The parking lot is small and I am handicapped and was told I needed to move from a spot near the door so a person could park a boat. There were no handicap spaces available. I won't be staying there again.

The room was very clean! The hot water was terrible could only get it if you were up earlier then 5 am or after 10 pm on the 3rd floor! The door stuck and the phone offered in room was not plugged in or working to call the desk. Staff was helpful on checkin but where not available to drop keys off to at 630 am roughly.

There was a terrible odor in our room and as well as throughout the building.
Bed sheets were crumpled and threadbare.
No hot water in the shower on the first day.
Shower head spray was barely working.
Bath towels were very small, threadbare and tattered at edges.
Bath soap provided was a thin sliver about an inch in size.
No shampoo or conditioner provided.
A thin flimsy plastic liner was provided instead of an ice bucket.
No tea or coffee in the room.
The microwave was old dirty and rusty.
Plastic chairs were provided in the room.

No hot water! We tried to shower at night and then again in the morning hoping there would be an improvement.
No shampoo or conditioner.
No air conditioning.
We were so hot, we had to sleep with the window open. The hotel is right beside the highway, so although it's easy to find and convenient, the sound of transport trucks all night made sleep very difficult.
Front desk staff were did interested and didn't even respond when spoken to. They didn't answer our direct questions.
The whole hotel smells funny.
The fridge froze our carrots and medication (which isn't supposed to be frozen).
But the bed was comfortable.

The only issue I have is there is no coffee pot in the room. We get up pretty early and they didn’t have coffee in the lobby that early. Now that I know I’ll go prepared next time. Otherwise was nice and comfortable especially for the price.

The motel used to be a very expensive hotel before Motel 6 took it over now the prices allow budget minded families to stay in comfort
Everything was very clean and the housekeepers are friendly and helpful
I take my family to Newport several times a year and from now on this is the only place I will stay

This was genuinely one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. From the moment we walked in, the entire place smelled awful and was extremely run down. The front desk staff immediately had an attitude, which only got worse throughout the interaction.

When we entered the room, it smelled terrible, felt weirdly bare, and there was hair on the bed sheets. We then realized we had somehow been placed in an accessibility room, which was not what we booked for our couples getaway…. Like what. I calmly explained there had clearly been a mistake and asked if there was any possibility of changing rooms, even offering to pay extra. The employee repeatedly interrupted me, brushed me off, and told me it was “not her problem” and that there were no other options. I have honestly never experienced someone so rude and unprofessional in customer service.

I later checked my reservation and confirmed that I had booked a standard king room, not the accessibility room we were given. Expedia also contacted the hotel on our behalf and informed us that the hotel was unwilling to help in any way.

Thankfully, Expedia relocated us to another hotel for the night, and the difference was unbelievable. Clean, comfortable, welcoming staff, and an actually relaxing stay.

Yes, this hotel was cheap, but at what cost? Between the terrible customer service, poor cleanliness, awful smell, and overall uncomfortable atmosphere, I would NEVER ever stay here or recommend it to anyone.

Room was clean enough, we stayed there because it is pet friendly and a good location. Very basic, glad I brought my own instant coffee and cup since there is nothing but a fridge and microwave. Also glad I brought earplugs, the walls are thin and our neighbors had young kids. Overall the hotel was just ok for why we were there, just a place to sleep. I’d stay again if that’s all I needed, it is not a resort if that’s what you’re looking for.

2 ngt stay and we'd go back. Pet friendly. At our request they put us on the ground floor, end room so close to exit to take dog. Room was huge with divider between bed area and love seat coffee table. Each room had a balcony but view....not really. Had gas fireplace but all were decommissioned we were told. Nightly rate was very reasonably.

Where to begin- mid check in was rudely interrupted by another guest and then they were helped before me. Entire place smelled of smoke. The springs in the bed can be felt and make a very loud noise with any movement. Slider door to balcony does not lock. Woke up to ants all over the floor coming out of the bathroom.
Cars were blocked in by a boat that was parked in the parking lot?
I would rather sleep in my car the stay here again.

To be fair, it was a VERY cold couple of days when we arrived. However, when we go there the room was very cold and the heater was very insufficient to bring the room up to temp. I actually wasn't \"warm\" until the following morning(!) Having run for over 12 hours. A good solution would be to see if the heat could be turned on well in advance of guest arriving on especially cold periods?
No worries...we survived!

Beds were great, love the new vinyl flooring but when you look close you begin to see wear and tear. It was great for us. The seal around shower and floor was old and dark. The sink countertop edge was broken. As far as a clean room it was perfect for my wife and I and tge price was incredible. Will use again

The check in was fine, and the staff seemed nice enough.

But the smell in the room was too much to handle. Opening the window did nothing to help. It was not food, or chemical smelling, it something I find hard to describe. But it was prevalent.

In the end, I couldn't bring myself to sleep in the stench; I opted to make the long drive home instead.
