Clean and comfortable

For an outdated hotel, the room was very clean and comfortable. The continental breakfast was minimal: juice, coffee, and bakery items. Only wished they had the office unlocked and open at 7:30 to access breakfast items. Would stay there again.

It was a quiet room even though it was on the main street of town. It had a microwave, mini fridge, bath and shower. The tv reception was a little blippy, but we spent most of our time on the beaches anyway, so no big deal for us. It was close to a Chinese restaurant and a burger drive through that also had halibut fish and chips that weren’t bad. Also close to grocery outlet and another grocery store. It is about an 8/10 minute walk to the beach. It’s only 1.6 miles from agate beach and 8 miles from Devils Punchbowl which had little tide pools aginast the rock ledge at low tide where my kids caught lots of crabs; plus it was great for body surfing (and lots of other surfers abound). As for the “breakfast “ there were bagels and packaged muffins/cinnamon rolls, some juice and coffee. We didn’t care for it- but it was something.
We will likely return again one day. It was good for me and my three kiddos.

The room was very run down and needed maitence we were hesitant to plug anything into the wall outlets due to scorch marks on outlet covers. We requested a 2 queen bedroom with a kitchen when we arrived we were told the kitchen rooms were only a single king bed. The bathroom was clean but very small. The management was very friendly. They came in and cleaned our room and made the beds while we were gone we weren't expecting that during the covid pandemic

Nice quiet place at a modest price

We stayed there for one night. After a horrible night at another cheap motel before that, we expected the worst. However, we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of this inn at the very reasonable price we paid. The room was clean, located in a very quiet place. All you need were there: clean good quality bed linens, a comfortable mattress, a radio clock, a mini-fridge, a microwave, an iron, all the toiletries, and even a Keurig coffee machine and six K-cups of a good coffee!!! Nice central location in Newport, close to the beach and to Hwy 101 and still quiet. The only issue was the breakfast. The hotel description was saying \"Full breakfast\" (not Continental). In fact, it was just muffins, bagels, jam and coffee/tea. That was it. A bit disappointing.

Dirty room, strange practices

Location was a bit out of the way. Furniture in the room was stained. The other hotel guests were noisy and the area seems to attract some shady characters. The hotel owner was quite abrupt and I was surprised when he asked for my credit card CVV. He proceeded to type this into his computer which I have never seen anyone do before. A few days later I noticed our credit card had been skimmed for hundreds of dollars in fraudulent purchases (we have only used it for hotel stays).

No wonder it was cheap...

Please don't stay here! First of all the manager told us that he had already charged us prior to us getting there (we chose the \"Pay later option) because he's tired of being ripped off by people not showing up. Then there was the room... Everything is very old and outdated. There was an old space heater available for use Which I'm sure is probably against fire code. The cleanliness was not the best to either. Thick dust on a fan, What looked like a blood stain on a bench , etc. Also the bed was extremely uncomfortable and the pillows were too.

Location of motel is good in middle of town on main road, easy to find. Pleased to find the room in such good condition. It's been renovated and the beds were comfortable. Check in was a breeze. Because this is older motel, the heating vent is on wall with a big sign not to situate anything in front of it. There is also an additional portable heater available. For the price I'd stay here again.

Good value for an overnight stay on US101

Decent place, old but they are at least making an effort to update things and make the room look nice. My only real complaint is that the bed was very firm, so I did not sleep well. An old motel also lacked a convenient outlet for my phone charger, etc., but that's almost to be expected at this type of property. If you don't mind these kind of problems, you should stay here. It is kept clean and the staff were nice.

I waited quite awhile before someone came to help me register.The first room we were given was quite large but we could not get wi-fi and the TV didn't work. We checked in around 8 and planned to watch a little TV. Called the office and the man said, 'oh. that TV is broken but we have ordered another one.' He also gave us no help with the wi-fi. I had to ask to be moved to another room. The second room was rather dingy. Part of the door frame was gone so we only had one lock. There was no coffee maker as stated in their information. IN the first room, heat was a space heater and air was a small fan!The good points were that the bed was comfortable and there was a nice shower head and enclosure. The walk upstairs to the first room was really messy. Very dirty stairs and lots of clutter. It must be a new manager because we couldn't figure out how they won awards in 2013 and 2014! We will definitely not stay here again!

When I got to the motel, after 9 pm. we realized there was a mix up with expedia booking. They did not have a reservation for that night, but instead the next 2 nights. The very nice man at the desk moved some folks around for the next night and got me in a room that night, and the next. The room was clean, although an older building, it was well maintained.it was quiet, with no upstairs rooms over mine. It is centrally located which was convenient.

I was staying in Newport for one night and looking for an inexpensive hotel. Rodeway worked. I didn't need a beach view or a cite and charming cottage. It's right on the main highway but not as noisy as it would seem and within walking distance to several restaurants.

The room was clean and well-furnished, but there were three major issues. The first was that the thermostat could not be turned, such that it was very cold in the morning, as I couldn't turn the heat up. The second was that the switch for the light in the bathroom also turned the fan on, such that I rarely turned on the light in the bathroom. Finally, the door didn't stay closed, and would randomly open. If I am in Newport again in the future, I will avoid this motel.

The place was clean, but the heat didn't work. There was an free standing electric heater that worked, but it was noisy. So choose between sleeping and freezing.
The shower pressure was really weak.
Not much breakfast to speak of , I left at 7:00 am, and it still wasn't available.

Good surprise at a budget price

This was a pleasant surprise-I was on a budget for this trip, so I probably would have overlooked this place on a normal work trip. The reviews were good, so I gave it a chance, and I am very glad I did. It is family run (owned by the people that have a nearby Chinese restaurant), very clean and updated on the inside. I would gladly stay here again.

Stayed at Shiloh in for over $100 a night an had broke coffee pot an tube TV with a moving floor. This was a great experience updated rooms an TV's. Working coffee pot and just amazing experience compared to what I was use to with my kids enjoying the trip rain an all.

Much better than I expected.

I read through numerous reviews of this place prior to staying here. We decided to stay here even though there have been a few bad reviews in regards to the motel. It was centrally located to a lot of places here with in Newport that we wanted to go and visit which is why we stayed here. That being said, the staff was extremely helpful at both our check in and making sure that we had our Continental breakfast food for the next day. The rooms were clean, quiet if basic. The beds were firm and soft enough to get a decent nights rest. The wall heater didn't work in one of the rooms that we stay but in both of the rooms that we had stayed in a provided good decent plug-in heaters. The only downside that I can see to these rooms is that during the summer they could be, too warm. The rooms do not have air conditioning but at this time of the year there is no need for them. We liked the place.... so much, that we decided to stay an extra night. But we would definitely stay here again I would recommend it.

The restaurant next door kept its food waste next to the room I stayed in.

My extended stay at the Newport Rodeway Inn was one of the best hotel experiences I've had in a long time. I found the facilities to be clean, organized and well maintained. My room was in near-new condition throughout, and more like a small studio apartment with the equipped kitchenette. The central location provided walking access to grocery stores, restaurants, self-service laundry and Newport rec center / gym.

The owner / manager was friendly and responsive to my scheduling changes. I will definitely use this hotel again in the future.

The staff was friendly and obliging, the room was well restored and spacious, and the breakfast bar was open all day. However, there was an overwhelming smell of mustiness and sewer gas in the bathroom that was only lessened by leaving the bathroom door shut tight with the fan running. And the breakfast bar had only stale commercially packaged muffins and pastries, and no cream or milk for coffee. We ended up buying our own cereal and milk.

This place is AMAZING! I loved my room (single, queen bed). The bed was nice with great pillows. There was a FULL kitchen: stove, oven, full size fridge/freezer, pots, pans, dishes, dish rack, you name it! The bathroom is a little crammed but the shower has a nice pressure.

The check in staff was funny and happily let us check in late. They even gave us pamphlets and told us the cost of things near by. 10/10 would recommend!

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!!!

We were VERY DISAPPOINTED with this hotel. Main reason being that the manager was VERY RUDE to us. Between the time that we booked the room and when we left on our honey money I had received a new bank card. The manager ran my card early in the morning before we had arrived. Well because the expiration date was different it declined my card so he cancelled our reservation. He did not even bother to contact us about it! Then gave us this whole song and dance about it when we got there about how he has to run them early so he doesn't lose money. It was a SUNDAY NIGHT! The place was less than half full! What he should have done was called me! Could have had the whole issue resolved in 2 minutes! The other thing is they advertise that you get a full breakfast with your room and it was only continental.... Not a deal breaker but coupled with the managers attitude it upset us. he did end up renting us a room but I will not ever go back there!

I WOULD NOT EVER RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE!!!!

People outdoors at 2am-4am were loud and drunk.

People outside were loud. Call the police! Room was OK. No ac. No dvr. Not horrid but I couldn't sleep all night - bring a gun and noise maker. For the price, too much.

This is our 2nd stay as we stayed last year at about this same time. Good value for the $$, excellent central location, beds are comfortable, pretty quite when window is closed, BUT the room was not ready at check in time, owners parked their vehicle directly in front of our room door making it inconvenient to load & unload for our 4 day stay. Also because of the value (I assume)several transient workers stayed during the week & were very loud & did not observe no smoking signs. Had to keep windows closed during hot nights to keep smoke out & filter profanity. Room was $94 for 2 queen beds, reasonable but for an extra $20-$40 will probably stay else where next time.

Treated well by staff, could use shears on curtains so as to be able to get light in room without having the curtains shut for privacy. Only one window in room. No airconditioning. Had the outside temperature been hotter room could have become uncomfortable. Did not like the flavor of the coffee that was supplied by the motel in room.

host very friendly, good location only positives. room had small fan, very furry with dust, had to hang in the window to cool room. laundry on site without a chair to sit on, needs a good cleaning, then there was, \"breakfast.\" \"24 hour.\" bagels, buns, etc wrapped in cellophane, ? how long they had been there. no butter or cream cheese. no milk for cereal or fruit. coffee & juice machine. host states 24 hours so he doesn't have to get up early to take of it. there was peanut butter. will pass on this hotel next trip. at least the Newport café is close with excellent food, service & real 24 hour food.

The check in clerk was funny and nice. My only complaint was the bed was a bit hard, the room was stuff and it did not have air conditioning, but how often do you need that on the coast. Also, the guy at check out was a bit rude to me when I asked for a receipt. Other than that it was a pretty nice updated room for the price. It was also about an 8 minute walk to Nana's pub. And Lee Wok right next to it had good food for the price with big portions. I would stay here again.

Dear Expedia,
When we cancelled our second day at the roadway inn in Newport OR. we tried to be as courteous as possible to the owners of the hotel with our excuse for leaving, the truth of the matter, the room we had was absolutely terrible. The room had a very stale an muskey odor. It was a cold, damp night and the room did not have a working heating system, the owners had a portable heater in the room we had to use. I'm glad it was not a summer night, the room had no Air conditioning system, just a fan. We stuck it out for one night we could not stay there another night, absolutely. If we don't get a our refund on this hotel, that's OK, but we will never ever book or recommend anything again associated with Expedia. The owners of this property should be ashamed.
I think someone from your company should check out a hotel yourselves before you put it on your web site.

Great for the price!

It's a nice motel for the price and location, it was just a few minutes from the Aquarium and downtown Newport. Staff was very nice. The only little thing was they didn't unlock the lobby doors for breakfast until after 8 am when the front desk staff said anytime after 7 am, which would upset some people but Over all it's was a a great motel. It had Samsung flat screen tv and a keurig coffee maker. Well really enjoyed our stay! Some other reviews complained about the heating, I definitely had no issues with the heaters there!!!! I didn't eat at the restaurant there but I love the fact that it was conveniently there. We will definitely stay there again! Thanks so much to then owners/staff at the Rodeway Inn!!

Overnight getaway.

Friendly staff. Clean, cute room, with mini fridge, microwave, and enough coffee I didnt have to ask for more. Was a pleasant stay at an affordable price.
