This had all of the key things I was hoping for. This does not often happen at an affordable price. Clean, nice size refrigerator that is cold, microwave, great desk for working and a comfortable office chair. Nice TV and internet connection made this a fortunate selection for a 19 day work trip. People were really nice. Adjoining rooms in the lower level have ZERO sound protection, so you can hear all of your neighbors coughs, sneezes, and everything else. Room was clean though, and was in a great location.

Their 1st floor is actually a 1/2 story below ground.
I’m 76.
I didn’t want to carry my laggage down a set of steps so they charged me $10 for a ground level room. And the clerk was rude.

The staff was very nice. I get incidental charges but they should list the price of that so there are no \"hidden\" fees. Our room the sink in the bathroom didnt drain. Our tub was full of water upon arrival. Our bathroom light flickered a lot before staying on. Probably wont stay here again beds are hard but the staff is very nice.

You get what you pay for!

This is budget friendly motel— you get what you pay for. The shower was only warm, not hot, the heater quit working at 4 am and I had to get up and reset it, and the property seemed to be lacking maintenance— it just looks old. The room was clean although the bed wasn’t comfortable. The view towards the ocean was beautiful though.

Internet was basically non existent. Don't say you have wifi if you can't provide a strong signal in each room. Walking around barefoot before taking a shower. Stepped in something sticky. I only hope it was like soda pop on floor. Maybe something else. Would not come off until I got in shower and scrubbed. Entering shower, I felt a long dark hair on my face. Not mine for sure. I have white/grey hair 2 inches long. I must have gotten off of the shower rod or curtain. Gross! Drying off after shower and I noticed a small green bug run across my foot. Not a bed bug but still, I expect to see no insects in room. When I turned on the heater, it made a grinding sound and the heater register was filthy with dust and spiderwebs of black dirt or mold. Yuck!
In all the travelling I have done, this motel is the worst experience. I will never stay at this motel again, and I question all Econo Lodge motels from now on. Note: I do not care about coffee, refrigerators, microwaves and other amenities. I want a place that is quiet and has a comfortable bed.

Forced late check-in and early check-out

Made to wait an additional 50 min after 3pm check-in time for room to be ready without explimation or apology. Cleaning crew attempted to enter room nearly 2 hours before checkout because they were told we had already left. Saftey latch on back of door was broken off so we wouldnt have been able to prevent their entry if in the shower or occupied. Window was so dirty we couldn't see out of it hardly, except where a previous occupants fingers had left clean marks. When I mentioned all of this to the supervisor/Manager at the front desk I just got told it was an accident and he would look into it. All around unimpressed and will never stay here again.

For being a budget hotel, the room was very clean. There was a small view of the ocean. The staff was amazing. The only thing I would have liked to see is I wish they offered tea in addition to coffee. I am not a coffee drinker and that was the only option offered. There was a microwave and a fridge in the room.

This place was fine for a quick one night getaway, with a good price. The ice machine was broken, which is a bummer, and you can hear conversations pretty easily through the walls. But the staff were kind and the room was clean. I would definitely go again if I wanted to save money.

The room does not have AC. There was no wifi. There was no TV. Many outlets do not work, so my phone actually was not charging. The people in charge said they would contact me about these and other issues, but never did.

Perfect Trip!

We had a great view of the ocean. We opened our curtains to watch the sunset from our bed. We didnt have an air conditioner and some of the other rooms did but our fan worked perfectly with the breeze outside. The location is really great for everything you would want to do in Newport too.

This is a run down motel with paper thin walls. I could hear the people talking in the next room all night long. When they got up in the morning, it sounded like they were in my room, the walls were so thin. This motel had people hanging around the parking lot at all hours, for some reason. Expedia won't let me post what they were doing there so I will leave that up to your imagination. The property was in disrepair.

I'll never stay here again. Never felt safe. Property was terrible, room was bare bones.

Good view of ocean at a distance. No breakfast but think they have coffee.

Easy access to parking and good size parking for bigger vehicles.
Great view of ocean from 2-3rd floors. There is AC in the rooms but No Breakfast service.
Not the best WiFi in middle of building. 310 is our favorite room.
Farmers market on Saturday is close by.

No frills, not a resort stay in Newport. Good for the pass through traveler although there is much to see in Newport and south of Newport where it’s more natural beauty than north of Newport to Lincoln. Parking spots get all taken at night so don’t hang out late.

Had to pay an extra $40.to have adown stairs room. I indicated on reservation that we were handicapped and was hard to use stairs. They did not notify me earlier. Note book in room indicated continental Breakfast. Called to check on the times, they said they did not have the breakfast there. We came home from windy, rainy day to water on floor. Window was leeking. Could see where it had been leaking before above the window. Called office, said he would have towels up in the office. No way was I going back out in the storm to get towels. Man knocked on door ans had towels. He saw leak and took pictures. Called and asked if we wanted another room. We were staying their 4 nights and this was the 3td night. We said it was ok. It did not rain much after that.

While not a panorama unobstructed view, every room has a window where the ocean surf can be seen. The lower rooms have a balcony of sorts. We are quite pleased and plan a return next year, hopefully the same room.

Cockroach! No picture, no refund!!

Upon check in we noticed at least one room had plywood covering a window. Our first night we saw a cockroach!! Once we put a light on it to take a picture it ran behind the dresser. We called the front desk with no answer, and went to the front office, but it was closed. We decided it was too late to leave(4 hr drive there) and would leave in the morning. We called Hotels.com in the morning for a refund of the 2nd night, they spoke to the Manager and since we didn't notify them the night before we wouldn't get a refund. I went to the office and spoke with the Manager, showed him my phone to show we did call with no answer. He said if we had a picture of the cockroach we could possibly get a refund. So, if you decide to stay here get a picture of the cockroach if you want a refund.

Not impressed with Econo lodge in Newport,Oregon. We used Travelocity to check in. We were told that it was much easier to call the motel direct. The stairs to the lower level room we stayed in was a trip hazard. The Maid was cleaning rooms next door at 7:30am. This made it difficult to sleep. The brochure in the room said maid service started at 8am. Someone tried opening the door which concerned us. I believe it was maintenance because I saw him later working on the room next door. I won’t be staying at this location again.

The rooms are WAY overpriced for worse than motel 6 level. When I made my reservation it said ocean view, then the guy said no sorry there are none left. It said the serve breakfast so it was a big reason I chose this place because my kids get up early and want food right away. Upon arrival it
Was all closed down. I also got charged an extra let deposit which wasn’t included in original price eventhough I said I had a dog. The bathtub is super tiny and the water flow is a little more than a trickle. The wife is so bad and lags. I could go on. I feel robbed spending over $200 for a room I do not want to hangout in at all.

No air conditioning, people are loud all night outside slamming doors and being loud, bed was hard as a rock.... comforter and blankets were dirty as well.

Definitely don't recommend this place. Also the price was wayyyyyy too high for what you're getting. This room was $130 but should have been more like $50

The \"ocean view\" was blocked by a big semi truck the whole time we were there and found out that pets are only allowed on the 1st floor, therefore the king bed selected was not available. On that floor and we couldn't go up to the upper floors for a better view.
