The property is under construction and it doesn’t look anything like the pictures, but we barely used our room so I’m not worried about that. However, Shelley at the front desk is amazing. She’s so friendly and accommodating that we will most likely be back just because of her.

I was put into a room facing the beach and all the weather. Should be a good thing, but all the salt spray deteriorated the threshold. The door did not close well, deadbolt did not latch.
Late that evening I heard a drip. And saw rapid dripping from the ceiling near the bathroom. I called the front desk. I was told they would look into it. I would have expected them to send someone to my room. I called again and they told me they had not seen a problem. I said to come to my room. Maintenance arrived and confirmed. I asked to be moved and was told there were no rooms. The maintenance person said they would make a room up and move me. I was moved.
The next morning the front desk said they would credit me $25 for my trouble but then charged me $25 more. They then reversed the change, zeroing out the charge. They said it will be corrected but I need to wait.
I don’t feel satisfied with the resolution offered.

I had mixed feelings about my stay here. On the positive side, the check-in process was smooth and everything else about the service was good. However, there were some issues with the room quality that guests should be aware of.
The main photo on their website is actually shared with the hotel next door, which makes the property look different than it really is. More importantly, the photos of the two-bedroom suite are misleading regarding the size—the rooms are much smaller than they appear online.
When I entered, the room had a notable dusty smell. I tried leaving the windows open to air it out, but the scent lingered throughout my stay. While it wasn't a terrible experience, I wish the room quality and size had matched the expectations set by their page.

Very dated, checked for bed bugs because we got itchy on both mattresses, NO screens on 2-3rd story windows so kids would be at high risk for falling on to pavement below with no safeguards. Pool emptied except for a few feet of moldy water. Advertised as having a pool. Given wrong building on arrival so walked all over before finding room 2 buildings back. Stayed here for spring break but wish we went elsewhere even though the view was pretty. Inside of the room was a hodgepodge of 1980 furniture and a big box tv with no remote to watch. One staff only and not open to refunds so we felt stuck! One time stay and not again. View and nye beach historic areas only redeeming part of hotel. This is the old shilo hotel.

Was able to get early check in. The view was fabulous. The property was in the middle of remideling so it was very noisy.it was in seriuos need of updating.. Nothing was mentioned at check in that the pool was not open. Wi-fi connection was very poor. We also had sugar ants in our room. Until the updates are completed, i would not recommend staying here.

We didn’t end up staying because there was not a pool and that was not disclosed when we booked the room and I have two small kids that need to wear themselves out so it was not going to work, but I do plan on staying there when it becomes the seagrass inn. The guy at the front desk was very very, very nice.

Room was clean, but was small. Because we had dogs they put us on the ground floor which was nice. Although it was a high traffic area and the dogs would growl at everyone going by the room at all hours of the night. Tub wouldn’t hold water and the tv was very small.

There was no breakfast. The pool had no water. Room was clean rough, but clean if that makes sense. Linens was clean and crisp. There was only two towels. There was a kureg coffee maker in the room. Coke vending machine. All that aside. The view is beautiful. The perfect view of the beach, lighthouse, crab boats, and shops all near by. It was peaceful,quiet, and you lay in bed see it all!

The staff was very nice, and attentive. The Inn wasn't anything it was advertised on Hotels.com. Looked nice online, only to arrive and the place was a total dump! No pool, and was told they haven't had one for the last 6+ years. No restaurant that was also closed down. The room was clean, but the carpet was really lose, and folded in areas. The heater does not work right had it set at 68 and it never shut off just kept blowing and making the room HOT! Woke up so many times to turn the heater off and on all night. There was no mini fridge in the room, I just assumed all rooms had them, but I was wrong. The veiw was amazing, but unfortunately will not be staying at that establishment again until they've done a full remodel of the property!!! 2/10 🌟 🌟

I absolutely will not recommend this location. And the advertised that they had a pool and when we arrived, the pool looked like it hadn't been opened in years. The room was absolutely filthy, and management did not care. Yes, oceanfront view, but there was an awful smell as we walked in. We would have gone to another location, but since we booked in advance and paid in advance we knew that we would not have the funds to get another hotel room last minute. This place is absolutely disgusting, and should be condemned. Do not go here! The ocean view is not worth the potential risk to health and safety

Advertised on expedia as having a pool and restaurant. They did have them, but neither were open or functional. Wanted both with young children a pool was important.

Reserved a room with 2 queen beds, they gave use a one bed room. 4 people would not fit. They did quickly correct this error. Just took time and added to the confusion and disappointment.

The representation of Shilo Inn itself was drastically misleading on the Expedia website. The Pool/Restuarant &Lounge/Cafe were all permanently closed, for over a year, according to the front desk staff.
As for the room, that hasn’t been updated for a while. There was large holes in the window sheers, damaged furniture, toilet seat was broken, and the caulking in the tub was old and crumbling and held mold, and the tub had chips out of it. No breakfast offered, but good restaurants within walking distance.

The room was ok, the furniture had multiple signs of damage and repair. The entry door had a large gap up top that just allowed cold air in, thank goodness the heater worked well. It also had dirty cuetips still on the floor from previous renters. There was old sidding and gutters stored under the stairs right by our room, so it looked kinda junky. The pool and restaurant were closed for \" repairs\" so no pool or breakfast in the morning. The view was nice, but not certain I would stay here again. Im glad I got off season rates.

Staff was great. That was...the only thing good about our stay. The pictures and amenities listed that were \"available\" are not. The main building which I imagine is where the pics from the website are from has not been used since April 1st 2025. There isn't a restaurant on site. No breakfast offered. There are no \"indoor pools\", there is not a vending machine available.
Our 2 queen beds were shoved in a room in a L shape. Each having no headbords. The mini fridge was placed on top of a dresser that leaked and had water damage visible. Our 2 story room had no screen and displayed missing gutters. The \"pool\" room has tarps covering the roof. My recommendation is please stay elsewhere.

Multiple issues with our room. This hotel was listed as having free breakfast as well as a restaurant on site... none of this was true. The restaurant is completely closed down and roped off. And no complimentary breakfast was provided.

Also, our room smelled badly of fish. Not like good ocean smell, more like someone stored dead fish in the room and forgot them. I had to use incense to cover the smell. It was too cold to open the windows for very long.

Our room was clean-ish. Found a granola bar wrapper by the bed. The upholstered chairs were stained and one had a lemon-sized hole in the fabric in the side. The beds were very firm with little to no give. All the light fixtures were either broken, stained, or need updated bulbs. The room was very cold when we got there. If they know the room is going to be occupied, the heat should be on, especially since were there in winter, and it was raining and windy. The only heat for the entire room (with two sleeping areas) was a small wall heater (like 8\" wide and 12\" tall), so one bed area eventually got very warm and the other was cool.

You couldn't close the bathroom door unless you scooted behind the toilet. The sink area was very small. Only one person could be there at a time which doesn't make sense for a room with two queen beds.

There was lovely hot water though! And a great ocean view plus beach access (89 stairs down to the beach)!

So, not a great experience here and not one Hotels.com should continue to use and promote.
Check in was slow due to ‘computer issues’ probably the Windows 94 based system in keeping with the rest of the complex!
Main building was closed for sprinkler systems renovation (lies as the building has been condemned by the local fire department)
Pool was also closed for refurbishing - again closed and condemned!
The room was so tired and in need of upgrading - musty and so dated.
Roof is leaking and gutters missing in places.
The tv and electricals were almost as old as me (and i’m no spring chicken)
A saving grace was the view - through the salt stained and bird muck covered windows.
Clearly in need of knocking down and rebuilding on a prime site (which i suspect is what the owners are waiting for)
It’s dead - just doesn’t know it yet….
Avoid and use elsewhere.

Don’t let them fool you like they did me! They DO NOT have an open pool and have no idea when it’s going to be open again. They DO NOT have a cafe or offer breakfast of any kind. The hotel itself is in poor condition and could use a good remodeling. However, the staff was kind, apologetic, and helpful. The rooms and linens were clean but one of my windows had a broken lock and the curtains wouldn’t shut all the way. I am grateful we were on the third floor so I didn’t have to worry about someone breaking or peeping in.

When I was a kid the Shiloh Inns was the place to stay but after heading to this location its a wonder that it is still open during our stay I had only met two staff members which they were friendly and the room was mediocre. On our arrival the person who checked us in was very nice and straight forward but when we started down in the parking garage we noticed there was rust on the pipes everywhere. We entered into the elevator that was in terrible shape to the point that button console was almost coming off. We enter the main lobby and see water over the floor with a wet floor sign. The main pool was closed, restaurant closed, and not a soul in sight. It honestly felt as if we were urban exploring rather that staying in a \"Resort\". We get to our room and notice more of the hotel just seems to be in disarray. We place our things down and notice there was rust on the vents and air conditioner. The bathroom door didn't lock, air conditioner only functioned for a few mins, things were dirty and damaged throughout the room. During our stay we could easily hear people on both sides of us making it hard to sleep. On top of that our tub had a hard time draining its water. On our way out to the beach we noticed that the front door to hotel didn't even locked which gave access to anyone off the street access if they didn't have a key card, on our way down to the beach we took note that hand rail was rusted and about to fall off. Make sure to get a tetanus shot before booking.

The pool is shut down because of a roof problem. Your web site said it has a pool and did NOT mention that it was shut down for repairs. One of the reasons we booked that hotel was for a pool. The rate charged for no pool and no restaurant is EXCESSIVE. We expressed our displeasure and they said they could not give us a refund because we booked thru Expedia. This place is very old! there were holes in the walls and our tiny 20 inch tv had green lines going through the bottom. we also found a chili pepper on the ground (we were in a pet friendly motel so our dog could’ve easily eaten that had I not seen it.) There's a couple dead stink bugs in one of the beds in 1 of our rooms, the sheets on 1 of the beds were wet. So we asked for extra betting and never got it. Then when I went to go talk to somebody in the morning. The lady was very rude at the desk. And there was no AC or anything in the room and it was super hot and one of the window blocks was broke and the screen was pushed out. Not very safe

It did have a great view of the ocean, and I liked the location. There's a very good restaurant 2 blocks away that we walked to, plus it's very convenient for getting into Newport and doing things there. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is just a little dated, but everything was clean and the beds were comfortable. One thing they didn't mention is their pool is closed for rennovations until April or May? of 2025. So that was kind of a bummer to not know that ahead of time. Overall, though, it was a good place to stay

Easy check in and out, pleasant staff, clean buildings, working elevator, and they were quickly able to accommodate my request to be as close to the elevator as possible for mobility reasons. Minor maintenance issues that I am sure would have been quickly remedied had my stay been longer (one of the towels had a hole in it and the plastic cover over the flush handle on the toilet was cracked), but they were of little consequence for a short stay. A LOVELY surprise to have a small collection of dishes\cutlery and nice kitchenette counter space to make microwave meals a touch more elegant. Super helpful to have a box fan included in the room as well.

BEWARE AND STAY AWAY

What ruined the whole experience was a horrible blonde manager lady who cussed my husband out when our dog peed on a bush outside.
She is a manager there and was saying she was going to come to our house and beat us up and calling us every swear insult in the book! absolutely terrible and will never ever return she is rude and crazy!!!!!! they advertise as a pet friendly hotel yet very clearly aren’t if a dog using the bathroom outside causes that foul terrible reaction! BEWARE EVIL BLONDE MANAGER LADY WHO THREATENS CUSTOMERS

Rooms outdated, shower not clean, smells funky, windows foggy. restaurant and pool gone.

Great location, room was clean, good customer service. But absolutely not WORTH 135.00 for one night. Thought the pipes to all the bathrooms around us sounded like bombs, so the night of sleep was awful! Sooooo pissed at hotels.com for the not so realistic price. Shilo c’mon put some money in the property as of years ago!

We were surprised to find that the website shows there is a restaurant and in fact it was for lease. The swimming pool was not in working order due to no roof on building. The floor in our room needs to be replaced as you can feel the boards lapped over each other. The rooms really need to be updated. The one good thing of our stay was the view.

Couples get away

We had to ask for bedding, there was no trash cans in our room, the microwave location was poor ( it was in a cabinet at the end of our bed, and the clock on it was very bright, covered it up with a wash cloth to block the light. Over all the inn needs an update really bad.
