The facility has steep stairs to each floor, is not accessible for wheelchairs, rooms are cramped, beds are uncomfortable, tv is $30 extra, private bathroom $100 extra. By far the worst place I have ever stayed.

I paid for a room through Expedia for medical reasons for my friend taking care of her son, as
there was a shortage of available rooms because of extra volume of sporting events coinciding with the life saving surgery of my friends son .
After i paid for the room, my friend shared a live video from the room she was given the key to ( room 204 )
The bedding looked slept in, there was garbage in the waste basket, a used clear plastic cup and a shopping note on the table next to the microwave. The bathroom was adjacent to the shared washroom and the smell of what she described as urine and mildew mixed.
she requested a different room which was a bit cleaner. She placed her food into the fridge , and went back to the hospital and ended up staying there overnight, afraid to walk tomthe hotel after dark.
When she returned in the morning she found her food had spoiled due to a faulty refrigerator.
She returned the key and requested my additional $300 deposit and checked out .
a week later is when i received the reimbursement from St Lawrence Suites, coinciding with the original checkout date.
I would seriously like to request a total refund not to mention some action tombe taken against St.Lawrence Suites for not providing a clean and safe place for anyone to reside whole attending her comatose son at St. Michael's.
I intend to follow up on this matter.

This place is not worth 1$ it’s so dirty and smell bad. I travel a lot I never see place dirty like that. They even try to change me 50$ usd to keep my suitcase for 1 hour before check in. That’s not a professional way . And they call themselves hotel them room is so small

A nightmare of a Hotel

The hotel is placed in a bad part or town. There was hyperdermic needles on the side walk just outside the door, with a male possibly over dosing. There were more needles in the parking lot. The room had an in window AC unit that had board surrounding it but had chunks missing so you could clearly see outside. Not a safe neighbor. The hotel is dingey and you do t get your own bathroom it is shared.

The place is run-down and old we got a room with two twin beds but we had to share a bed because the one bed was the creakiest bed I have ever seen my entire life. The walls were super thin and I could easily listen to everyone else's conversations. It may say there's a TV. But the tv is a fatback - round screen one and there isn't even a tv connection so it's useless. But the AC worked so that's good

Very average, plus side is that you’re near/in downtown toronto. I only stayed 1 night, for me it was fine. you might want to upgrade if you need more comfort.
They do charge a 300$ « in case of damages », that should be reimbursed within 1 week. This remains to be seen.

Please remove that location from hotels.com. Now.

My stay at that location was awful. There was actually not a hotel or suites, it was more like a halfway house or a boarding house. I was horrified. I had no choice but to stay one night, but I got my money back. I feel the place should be condemned. I will send you some pictures. For example. Over the bed was a cracked and moldy skylight that was disgusting. The room smelled. The blanket had a cigarette burn and some stains on it nasty. In addition, the shared bathrooms were gross and there was wiring that was hanging out all over the place. I have pictures.

Better than expected but NO ON SITE PARKING

The room and the location were great, better than expected, the only problem was that they lie about parking. There is NO ON SITE PARKING. Which was what made us book this over an other hotel. We had to park on the street and stress about the car, as we did not want to pay $15 for the parking lot opposite when we planned to get onsite parking included in our booking.

Possible bed bugs, but even worser management

My best friend routinely checks her beddings immediately upon entry of the room to be safe and found a dozen black spots at the seams of the most bottom bedsheets. Upon discovery, my friend did not feel comfortable staying there as she took photos and confided in her dad and public health under the suspicion that the spots were from bed bugs. When we went to the front desk, I stated that we would like to check out and I don’t need a refund, but that I do not want to be charged for a $300 deposit for black spots that were already there prior to our entry. The manager immediately asked where did we come from and twisted it as if we brought the bed bugs before he even sent any employee to check and/or verify our claim. My friend and I arrived separately but was there for no more than an hour, altogether. Even if the manager does not like being accused of uncleanliness, he should not be so rude to deflect it back to clients without any effort to compensate or make amends first. They later offered us to go to another room, but the damage was done. The service and attitude from the manager ruined any desire to ever come back and once I had confirmation that they won’t charge the deposit of $300, which may still happen by the likes of previous bad reviews… my friend decided that we ought to report the hotel to Public Health for an inspection. If the manager simply apologized, offered a different room, advised they won’t charge the deposit, then I would have just accepted the lost.

Thieves sketchy and prostitution

Only 4 people staff including the owner no room service manager one night was in his underwear in the hallways they rent out to homeless kids and street hookers from the shelter next door and use and abuse them they fightso loud i felt they will start shooting and stabbing each other. They stole my ebike i could see it in the basement but they said no its a different one and they never gave me back the $200 deposit not sure how tbey f still in business and shame on hotels.com to list them. Our room was clean which was appreciated, but the property did feel a bit run down for the amount of money we paid given the extremely small space of the room. There was also a lot of drug activity near the property which made us nervous travelling to and from the property. It was an appreciated place to stay for this trip but I will highly likely not return due to the neighborhood and small rooms.

The front desk person was kinda pushy and the area around the hotel felt a little unsafe, especially since we were 2 women travelling together. The bathroom i could tell had not been cleaned properly before we got there s there was a gemstone stuck to the shower wall. The overall furnishing was also in rough condition and parts of the carpet in the hallway was coming off, making a tripping hazard when going down with luggage.

Area surrounding hostel is major drug and homeless encampment. Payed for 5 nights left after 1st losing money. Room no window, no washhand basin,no where to stow/ hang clothing. TV did not have aerial. Communal showers mixed!. Only stayed 1st night as could not get another place. Looking for a cheap place for night? Try the station.

The room was so run down and empty that I didn’t even stay the night even when they refused to refund me. The first room had a bloodstain on the bed sheet. The second room had holes in the pillowcase and hair on the bedside table. The management was also rude saying I was « not an interesting person » because I checked that the sheets were clean before using the bed. I wouldn’t even leave my bag there it felt so unsafe. This property needs to be removed from the Hotels.com site. This was our first hotel on an 8-day baseball trip starting in Toronto. We arrived, and the picture of the front of the hotel was nothing like the pictures. It has no place to pull in to register. We arrived and talked to Mo and Joe. They informed us the room we rented did not have a bathroom and it had a shared WC. They immediately said they could give us a room with a WC for an additional fifty dollars. We needed a room, so we paid the charge, then they required us to pay for the room again.
As you can see, we prepaid for this hotel through your service. We obtained a key, code, and FOB to enter the building, lobby, and room. Once in the room, the A/C was a plug-in window unit. The TV did not work, and the bed touched the kitchenette. The bathroom was poor, to say the least. It had a Smail square shower that my wife would not go into. The kitchen had reused glass jars of coffee grounds and sugar. NO coffee maker?

This property is in a drug zone of the Toronto. The room does not look anything like the pictures. The sheets were not clean. The floor was not clean. The AC did not work and the guy had to knock on all the neighboring rooms to get it working. Terrible experience. Do not book at this place.

It's an older residence and in that is clean but outdated, I did not feel unsafe inside at any time and there were lots of washrooms so having the shared washrooms was not an issue I think the people rating zero stars have never stayed in a hostel and we're expecting a hotel

The property was clean although somewhat shabby. Shared bathroom was never a problem. There were several and at least one of them was always free. The staff was helpful when they were there but mostly the front desk was closed. The main issue was the many homeless people in the area.

Small but well-positioned & comfy

While I consider it small & pricey for a shared bathroom booking, it was clean, comfortable & quiet. It was also well-positioned for reaching downtown Toronto including the St. Lawrence market and the shopping center. I found buses and trains quite accessible. Great for short stays!

The management was rude and very disagreeable with me when I was staying there for an attraction in the area. The flooring in the room was coming up and the electrial recepticals were caked in smoke stains. The deck on the roof was falling apart as my foot almost went through the board and the railing wasn't attached properly.
I wouldn't recommend this place unless you like being talked down and belitted too and want bed bugs.

A decent place to stay on a budget close enough to St Lawrence market. A little close to the Salvation Army as well. Was relatively quiet stay in a clean facility. It's also good for longer term stays as it has the kitchen and set up. Will be on my list for future stays. Definitely you have to go to MYSTIC MUFFIN for breakfast spreads and sandwiches, cuz this is a hidden gem in the area. @Mysticmuffin . Very good prices and amazing food, and the owner is a pretty good character. Suggest trying the banana bread with blueberries, as that is freshly made. And the bagels are amazing.

It was in a very poor area, homeless people on the street. I never have stayed in such a small room.
To use the cable TV was a $20 surcharge.
The heat was sporadic, no instructions and finally, they explained it to me. Will never return there. The room and bathroom were clean, at least!

You get what you pay for, and this is the most affordable hotel room in the area. It is 1/3 of the price of the hotel across the street. Great.

It isn't the Royal York. Tiny rooms, outdated furnishings, shared bathrooms. But it is cheap!

Yes, they take a deposit off your credit card, but it is returned in a few days. No problems. Wasn't a scam.

This hotel is exactly what it says it is. It was safe and clean enough. Best value for money in the area. I'll be back.

Tried to cancel through hotel and orbitz. Bought insurance bc I don’t know Toronto. They are refusing.

The hotel is a dump and there are very unsavory people all around. Parking isnt free and it’s scary and unsafe.

Do not go here unless you have to and make sure you have company. Do not go alone!

Recognizing that the price was very cheap compared to a regular hotel, the room felt small and cheap. The hallways were narrow. It required a passcode to get to your floor, an outdoor key to get into the building and a room key. In the bathroom, there was a large bottle of shampoo and bodywash- shared with the multiple people who had stayed at the hotel before us. There was the possibility of purchasing cable on the old TV. The staff was very friendly!

Good Value for the Price

The stay was really not too bad. The staff do their best to make check in as smooth as possible and it was fairly quick considering they had multiple rooms checking in at the time. The rooms are not quite the same as the pictures, but they have space, shelfing, air conditioning, a microwave, a full sized fridge, and a shower. This is more amenities than some hotels that have a much higher price.

- This place is located in an undesired part of town. DO NOT walk around there at night.
- I pay $330(incl. tax) per night and the place is a dump. The sheets have stain on them, the washroom sink has hair all over. The floor feels a bit sticky.
- It said the room has kitchenette, it doesn't.
- The kettle has left over water with moldy water in them.
- Overall, I had nothing good to say about this place except the 2 staff in the place is friendly.

Once is enough

We (a group of 6 young women) were left with no choice but to stay here last minute after a mistake with a hostel booking on NYE. The man who checked us in was extremely chatty and slightly over the top. He talked to us about murder and I’m not sure what he did behind the counter with our IDs and credit cards.
The rooms and common area are not bad if slightly unusual but cleanliness was good. There were lots of amenities that we could use. The walls are very thin, two in our group could hear very loud noises from the bedroom above and the rest of us could hear a very loud argument at 3am.
Overall it was okay as there were 6 of us but I would not feel comfortable there on my own or even in a smaller group. We did not feel overerly safe here and got quite weird vibes from the place. We had no issues with our stay but one night was definitely enough and I feel we were lucky to not have anything go too wrong during our stay.

Paid 250$ for a night in a tiny ass room when I could’ve spent that on a nice room at the Grand down the street and had free breakfast and access to a pool never gave back the 150$ deposit so had to file a claim with my bank

Expensive room, but the room was very small and cramped. The TV was from the 80s. Check in took much longer than necessary and took photo copies of my drivers license, as well as the other person staying at the Hotel. There was nobody at reception as they are somehow closed on Sunday. I would not recommend this hotel to anybody

They emailed, saying my brand new card was declined and that they'd canceled my reservation. I called directly, pointed out it was a new card and everything was fine. I asked the rude guy on the phone to ruin it again. I also offered to use another card. Long pause from him, so long I had to say \"hello? You still there? \" He then replies, \"sorry, don't help you\" and hangs up on me. I didn't stay there after all, and I'm ok with that. Found something better AND cheaper

Disgusting, shocking , rude staff with no manners or customer service,very dodgy and unsafe place to stay and that’s just the hotel
When you leave the hotel it’s full of crackheads and in the way out the hotel take a picture of you for some reason they also insist on taking copies of credit cards and copies of your passport even when you pay cash? It can’t be because of damages as you couldn’t make it any worse . This place should be shut down , it inly has a 1 rating as you can’t leave a zero for some reason

What is unique about this property is the absolute disrespectful way the staff and the owner treat their guests. Since the moment we got there, the staff seemed to be taking us for a ride, avoiding direct answers and such. We had booked a room with a private bathroom, and the staff refused to give us one (claiming we payed for a shared one), suggesting we pay 80$ on top of the original 120$ to get one. Long story short, after 1 hour of arguing, we simply took our bags and went to the the nearby Mariott (200$ +tx, and obviously the quality is incomparable). We then called Expedia who confirmed we indeed booked a room with a private bathroom, and to whom the hotel owner lied about him offering us a private bathroom. AFTER Expedia send us a refund, the owner messaged us saying that he would refund the charges. Oh the arrogance! We never go to see any room, but the lobby alone (if it could be called such) was a pitiful sight.
