Lovely hotel and extremely clean. We were in the club house room which is in a separate building from the main hotel. The room was very clean and modern. My only complaint was there were 2 small bottles of water put out for us like most hotels do but they were half full and the seals were broken so were not new. Also they provide fresh milk in a fridge in the reception area which is really nice but the one I had which was well in date was sour so I think the fridge was not cold enough. Also the ice machine was not working. I did mention this to the reception and it was all rectified immediately. Also the hand wash and shower gel bottles in our room were empty but I brought my own so that was fine. I would suggest that housekeeping do a more thorough check on these things in the future as it is little things like this that can let a lovely hotel like this down. We had an evening meal and breakfast and both were delicious and excellent staff. Although we had a few small problems we would definitely stay here again as the standard is very high.

Please note - not only is access to the pool/ sauna etc additional cost, you have to book a time slot. It is also at the other end of the hotel if you have mobility restrictions.

The Reception Staff were excellent and friendly.

The Room was spotless and loved the drinks facilities, especially fresh milk but an Ice Bucket could have been provided for the Ice.

The Spa is excellent but should be included in the price, instead of having to pay an extra £10.

The room was slightly noisy, either traffic or a generator.

The 'help yourself' breakfast was plentiful but looked like it had been sitting in the keep warm trays for some time and in fact the food was tepid cold.

The room was clean and refreshed each day and the staff are always very friendly and happy to help.
Overall this is a great hotel.

My only disappointing 'niggle' is that I visited the same hotel a year ago and was given free access to the sauna/pool. This time there was an unexpected £10 charge and a pre-booking process which wasnt clearly indicated on the booking page. I really only booked the hotel for access to these amenities and didnt mind paying the extra compared to other hotels because of this being available. I will think twice before booking next time.

the room was ok, small but we expected that, bed was comfortable and there was everything you needed in the room. However there was a dreadful smell throughput the hotel - like a drains issue. After a while you got used to it, well accustomed to it, but still there.

the lady on reception when we booked in was lovely, bless her she was dealing with what seemed like a tricky customer on the phone when we arrived and didn't seem to get much support from her manager when she tried to put the call through to them, she was very apologetic about us having to wait and witness that. She herself was brilliant, helpful, professional and friendly, I am only sorry we didn't catch her name. On the whole the hotel is okay, warm and comfortable, but if I honest I am not sure the inside is on par with the flashy new exterior.

I initially booked a standard double room for Mum and Chris via Hotels.com. Knowing this was their first big trip together after 12 years of being single, I wanted to make it special. I used my status as a Level 4 Google Local Guide (with 15,000+ views!) to send a \"cheeky\" request email to the hotel manager, Kajal.
The Result (My \"Win\"):
The hotel was incredible!
• Upgrade: They upgraded them from a Standard Room to a Classic King Room with a Garden View for FREE.
• Romantic Touches: They agreed to arrange rose petals on the bed in a heart shape with \"D & C\" in the middle (Complimentary!).
• Leisure Access: They threw in free access to the Pool & Leisure Club for both days (normally a paid extra).
• Check-in: They added a note to allow Chris to check in early if he arrived first.
Verdict: The hotel staff went above and beyond. The \"cheeky email\" strategy worked perfectly, saving money on the upgrade and spa access while adding huge value.

Our room was very clean and looked to be nrely decorated. The Bed was very hard and couches also extremely hard and quite uncomfortable. Bathroom adequate but needed a few shelves to put toiletries on. Room stifling hot through the night even with heating down and window open
Woken at 6am with a terrible noise outside? Was told ot wss air conditioning Vety disappointed to be told that a hotel of this size had no non alcoholic gin, wine, or mocktails??? We wete told they had sold them all and had none left!!??? Our evening meal was delicious though. The waiter at breakfast was clearing our table whilst I was still eating which I thought was rude

Our room was next to the lift. It wasn’t until we turned the lights off to sleep that we heard the noise of the lift every time someone used it.
We were kept awake till 1am and then woken up at 5.30am by it.
I thought about contacting reception but the thought of moving rooms in the middle of the night in my pjs was not an option.

Hot and noisy room, little sleep

Didn't feel four star to be honest. Restaurant evening meal was good, if pricey, but breakfast wasn't great. Our room was very hot on arrival, but did have printed instructions on how to work the thermostat. Sadly there wasn't a thermostat in our room, so we had to sleep on top of the duvet. Walls were very thin, and we got very little sleep thanks to the noise. I asked to move to a quieter room where we might get some sleep, but was told I'd have to pay another £25. Not impressed, and won't be back.

Bedroom was very nicely set up but walls are very thin. Could clearly hear neighbors until 2am in the morning so not a good sleep and an early start for a long drive.

Great welcome on arrival. Reception very busy but made my check-in as simple as possible.
My visit was part of an extended business trip and the stay was a welcome R&R stop.
Didn't get chance to use all the facilities on offer, but the restaurant provided a relaxing, enjoyable hour or so to unwind.
Compliments to the Chef(s) the food was excellent and the attentive restaurant staff completed my dining experience.
Will be making this venue a regular stop-over when I'm next in the area.

My friends and I lived the place. Very clean. Staff very professional but friendly. There were a common ice machine in the corridor and tea facilities in the room. Food was superb.

Standard rooms should be called budget.

I really didn't like my first room 201 it was.a standard rooms but for me it wasn't up to the price tag. It was too hot not enough power points.But I did get upgraded to the club house which is much nicer. I was also disappointed the swimming pool you have to pay per session. When I chose the hotel based on a swimming pool I expected to use all the time. As a result from what I saw in the gym the pool was mostly not used.

Stayed here for a couple of nights and can not complain.
The spa was very relaxing, I had a massage and a swim/sauna afterwards.
The food was superb, breakfast and dinner were both amazing.
My room was quiet and had everything I needed, blackout curtains and comfy bed meant a great night's sleep.
The staff are incredible and really made my stay that much more enjoyable.

We're a family of five with three young children and finding comfortable rooms to house all five of us are usually hard to come by. I was delighted to find a large room waiting for us with central partition; all the children's beds (one double one sofabed) all made up. There was plenty of room to fit us all. I normally sleep poorly in hotels and in particular usually find a lack of pillows but can honestly say I had the best night's sleep I have ever experienced in a hotel. Access to the pool was included in our package which we utilised in the morning and the breakfast was super. I'd have no problem in recommending this hotel for all families.

Check in was very quick and professional, the room was what you'd expect it to be I.E Clean & tidy. Tea and Coffee were on hand with some welcome biscuits.
Evening meal was very acceptable with a decent choice on the menu and the food at breakfast was fresh and had plenty of choice. I didn't use the gym or spa facilities so cant comment on those aspects, but all in all, it's a nice place to stay

So many good things about this hotel but the service in the restaurant was charmless at breakfast and non-existent when we wanted to eat last night. We waited several minutes to be seated without so much as a nod, so I asked at the bar for a table. Three staff then went back and forth past us without acknowledging us at all. It was a Sunday night, there were only two other tables busy, that I could see. I gave up and left.

It was a nice looking hotel but i would not have awarded it 4 stars. We stayed for 3 nights and had 3 breakfasts, all of which were mediocre. The cooked food was cold and a bit undercooked and the choice of continental was very poor. We were shocked when asked to pay £10 person for 90 minute use of the pool and spa which in any other 4 Star hotel would have been included. The staff were lovely but the room was tired and needed upgraded. We would not consider staying at this Hotel again.

I have stayed at this hotel several times over the past few years, primarily due to the excellent spa and gym facilities that were free to hotel residents. However they have now started charging residents for these facilities at £10 for 90 minutes. Otherwise hotel is very comfortable, staff are friendly, and the food is good.

Good place to stay for wedding

Booked to stay as we were attending the wedding of our nephew. Early wedding so had to leave our bags in the car until after 2pm check-in. Not really a problem but would have been nice to hang my extra clothes earlier. Staff polite and helpful. Room OK but no aircon so quite warm. There was a desk fan in the room so that helped. Breakfast was good with a variety of continental and cooked breakfast. Refreshed regularly

Wedding Weekend Made Better with a Great Pool!

Stayed here for a nearby wedding and had a great experience. The hotel was clean and had good facilities. The highlight was definitely the pool — my son absolutely loved it! Our first time staying here as an overnight stay to break up a journey from Edinburgh to London, I had booked the gatehouse. The accommodation itself was lovely with interconnecting rooms for our children, however I hadn’t appreciated the gatehouse would be situated right by the main road (which is a pretty busy road) and my children found it hard to sleep with the noise.
Main hotel is nice, kids enjoyed the pool (but it is now apparently £10pp which feels a lot on top of your room) and breakfast was okay.
