The bathroom was not clean there was 3 pillows for a couple which is strange. There was no fridge and the room was a bit tired.
Breakfast was ok, no granola no berries or topping for porridge. There was a bit of dried out rocked not oil for it. No fresh breads and coffee wasn’t nice. Also we could hear our neighbours who were noisy late into the night.

Room was fine. Just thought a few areas were lacking. Pool use with the kids time not communicated well. Ordered out as if I knew what the times were. I just didn't get friendly vibes from certain staff there. Although there were some who were great. Paid to eat in the restaurant. Pricey and but food was nothing special. Breakfast buffet was ok.

Hotel was clean and bed was comfortable, although the breakfast wasn’t great. We may have been unlucky with our pancakes, but two were rock hard and one fell to mush when we cut into it as I think it had sat in water? There was also no chocolate powder in the hot chocolate machine. We did have a lovely stay, regardless, and may go back if we were in the area again. The coffee in the bar was delicious!!

Really made me feel valued as a guest. So much so, I enquired about the cost of the conference room for the day as hold quarterly business meetings with a small uk team who stay over the night before and have a full day meeting. I’ll be putting this hotel forwards as a suggestion for a future meeting.

A strange sort of place. It is a beautiful old manor with great history. The room was spacious and welcoming.
We stayed there for 4 nights and generally enjoyed it.
It’s strange in that it has many many rooms in several wings, but it has no restaurant. It has a bar area with a bar menu that is very sparse and limited. Thank goodness for the Broughton inn, a 10 minute flat walk away. We ate there 2 of the 4 nights and it was amazing. A real country pub with top food and drinks. Fabulous atmosphere and staff.
Speaking of which. The staff at the Marriott seemed untrained and totally without any guidance. Is there a manager there? Who knows.An exception to this was a guy named Paul. He was very helpful and seemed to be enjoying the job.
Other staff members seemed to be afraid of something and one, had only been there for a few weeks, said they had nightmares most nights 😳 .
The housekeeping was mediocre at best and didn’t seem too happy either.
It’s a shame really as a good manager encouraging staff and taking an interest could really make a difference.

Okay to get your head down but not worth the price
The first room we had, there were sweets under the bed and people's belongings still in the room like toys, ect. We got moved to another room in the night after having a night from hell in Blackpool getting stuck in a multistory car park for 2 hours. The new room was good but when we woke up in the morning, to get a bath after a long stressful day from the day before, the bath plug didn't work so I could relax in the bath, had to settle for a shower.
I thought the Marriot was meant to rival the Hilton's hotels but I would much rather stay in the Barton Manor down the road. My trust was broken after the first mishap with the room. It would take a lot for me to stay at the hotel again.

Paid £136 in December for a double room in August this year. In August the same room on hotels.com was £105. I messaged asking if we could have an upgrade as the price was lower on the site for the same room on the same night. I asked for a king size instead of a double, not a refund. I was told that as I had pre paid they wouldn’t have couldn’t upgrade our room. I felt a bit let down that I had paid in advance and paid more for the room. We arrived after a wedding at 2am in the morning, there was no toilet roll . I tried to call reception, but the phone was not working in the room. On checking out I told the receptionist. She was pleasant and said sorry for the inconvenience but no offer of compensation.

We use this hotel fairly frequently as we visit family. The rooms and amenities are good. The bar/ lounge area lacks warmth and character but the food is good ‘pub food’ quality.

60% of the staff were very friendly and helpful but some seemed like you were bothering them and getting information out of them was a challenge as if it's unreasonable that I wouldn't know as much about the place as they did. The room had rust and mould in the bathroom 232. And where the sealant was applied it was applied poorly. The air con unit needs a service or something because it wasn't cold enough. I thought the Marriott is supposed to be premium I certainly paid £150 more for two nights than a local competitor and I'm not sure how it's justified. The decor in general needs a refresh. It was mostly fine but I thought I was paying for more than fine. The pool sauna steam room is good and the gym. The information on the room qr code could be a lot more informative about the facilities. Each item you click in to shows no more info than what's on the front page item. Why not tell us what size pool what type of gym equipment things that people might want to know.

After an 5 hour drive and long traffic delays at Birmingham we arrived at 1.30am and was welcomed by smiling faces by which was lovely.

Although they had not cleared any food the waitress was not happy that we arrived, she was moody and not very welcoming which made both my sisters feel uncomfortable and guilty for coming down late but for obvious reasons we needed the sleep.

I have spent a lot of time (stayed for about 5 weeks) at the Delta hotel over the past few weeks for personal reasons. As a result, I’ve been working out of the room during the week.
The facilities and staff have been great!
The room has had all I could want and it has been easy to work from. The bed and bedding has been comfortable and there has been loads of water and spacious ablutions.
The facilities have been excellent and I’ve used the gym, pool and spa. All of which have been excellent.
The local area is really nice and o have taken daily walks in the area which is safe and really interesting. The Church next doo is fascinating.
But it is the staff where the hotel has excelled. Everyone has been friendly and helpful, from the maintenance, F & B and Front of House. They have made an unpleasant situation a pleasure! They have been attentive and friendly and really gone the extra mile.
I hate to list names as I am bound to miss folk out! Paul on reception has been amazing as have Steffi and Lucy. Charlie, Hannah and Kristin (that’s not quite right sorry) in the bar have been a pleasure and special thanks to Beatrice in housekeeping who bent over backwards to help this weird bloke working from his room!

We’ve stayed overnight here multiple times on the journey between Edinburgh and London.
Rooms are comfortable, the kids love the pool as a way to burn some energy and the breakfast is very good.
But the staff are what makes it, they are always lovely to my boys and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. On this stay the boys walked away with a bar of Easter chocolate each and were delighted!
