This hotel felt very dated overall. The room was poorly maintained, with uneven floors and worn carpet that was heavily stained and even sticky in spots. The mattress was uncomfortable and felt old, and while the bedding wasn’t dirty, it was clearly worn. Maybe except for the top blanket. The room was extremely small, even by London standards, and the bathroom was even smaller. I could also smell cigarette smoke coming through the vents from a nearby room, which was very unpleasant. Travelers should note that the hotel has no lift, so reaching upper floors requires climbing many stairs and would only suit very mobile guests. Younger solo travelers on a tight budget might tolerate it, but families and older travelers should look elsewhere.

Overall, I felt the room pictures on Expedia are incredibly misleading and this does not deserve a 4 star rating.

From a location perspective, it’s not near anything. However, Victoria station is about a 10 minute walk in which you can grab the tube almost anywhere from there. Transport options are ample.

Good clean room, on the small side but that was expected from the photo - no complaints.

However, the radiator wouldn't switch off as it wasn't clear how to reduce or increase the heat on the dial. The front desk staff member kindly came up to my room and helped, having to switch it off completely for the night because they also couldn't figure it out.

My stay was all around great. The room was perfect - spacious & clean - with a great shower. Staff was super helpful & genuinely nice with a good sense of humor. Location was excellent with many attractions, restaurants & pubs in walking distance. Also, Victoria Station & 3 tube lines within a short walk. Safe & quiet neighborhood.

AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COSTS
We stayed for one night en route to France. We were given a basement room which was small but adequate for 1 night only. It was clean but had a slight smell in the shower room. During the night this smell (like raw sewage) became unbearable and at 3am we reported this at reception. The person at reception came to the room and agreed that it was a dreadful smell. He tried to help by offering to clean the en suite which we declined as it was already very clean and the fault was that it was clearly coming back through the extract ventilation system. ( I am a retired Architect and have had experience of this before). We were offered another room, a single room, where we could escape the smell but could not sleep, as it only had one small single bed. We are in our seventies. We left at 6am by which time the same smell was occurring in this second room.
He said he had fully reported the situation to the hotel manager, who was coming in later that day. I ask if we could have a full refund. He said that the hotel manager would contact me later. Surprise, surprise no communication forthcoming despite my e-mailing him the same morning and a later follow up. Apart from the man on reception, who tried his best, the other staff who tried to help on other matters also had limited authority to assist us. The hotel owner/s appear to set customer comfort at a very low bar.

Room was so small that you had to bend forward to shimmy by the beds so you did not hid your head on the wall tv…no elevator and not explained at booking.

Shower stall was very slippery, needs non-slip strips on the floor of the shower. Not a good bargain. Would not recommend. Going back to London next year, will stay in the area but not at this hotel. Must be carful the pipes in the shower become very hot when taking a shower…burned my hand as I grabbed to prevent from slipping. Need shower handles.
Not a good stay….$880 for 4 nights.

I won’t be staying again. After an exhausting journey the receptionist refused to check me in as it was not yet 3pm. It was 2.10pm. When I walked back just after 3pm he was walking down the road- shift had finished- thankfully I hadn’t burdened him with any paperwork.
The second receptionist was fine and showed me my very cramped room.

Something to know is there is no elevator and a narrow stairwell. They help you with your luggage but we were on floor 3 which requires 6 sets of stairs. Rooms are small but nice and beds were very comfortable. We would stay there again.

One thing I really appreciated was that we arrived pretty early to the hotel, although we couldn’t check into our room, they were able to hold our bags for us as we toured for the day! My wife and I stayed here for four nights to have some time together this summer. We absolutely loved making the choice to stay at The Beverly Hotel. It was easy access to transportation, food, and all around a wonderful place to stay. The room was updated nicely and had cool A/C for when we got back from adventuring out in the city. We had an early flight getting to London and arrived to hotel at 9am to drop our bags off. We went out for breakfast and came back to an absolute blessing that we could check in early. The staff was super helpful and saw that we were tired and my wife was pregnant and needed a nap before we started our few days here. 5/5 would recommend!

Room was visibly dirty upon checkin. (Toilet seat was soiled) I had to wipe down the sink and toilet with Clorox wipes. Black mold present in shower. Room smelled stale and musty. There is very little to no soundproofing. Our room was next to a storage closet and on the main level which was very loud all night with people coming and going through the main entrance, shouting. We stayed one night of our 4 night booking and left before checkout the next morning as my husband was ill. We were not refunded for that night even though we checked out with plenty of notice and front desk asked if they could release the room, we said yes. The lady working on the front desk was very kind and empathetic. The proximity to Victoria station was very convenient, however I can’t recommend this property unless you are spending very little time in your room and are a very heavy sleeper. The level of cleanliness was also not up to par for me especially given the nightly rate. There are much nicer hotels for the price range.

A TERRIBLE NIGHT AT THE BEVERLY HOTEL

Our stay was terrible. We got in later than expected around 5:30 pm on Sunday July 6th. We then went out for dinner and didn't get back to our room until almost 10 pm. After awhile we noticed a really loud banging noise. It would last for approximately 4-5 seconds and then stop. This continued to go on between every 4-8 minutes. We contacted the front desk person. He said it was the air conditioner. He came up and turned it off and brought us a fan and said that should work. The noise continued after that. We went back down and asked if we could change rooms. The hotel was booked. He said their 2 other properties were also booked. He brought us rubber ear plugs to rectify the issue. That didn't help. The loud banging noise continued all night every 4-8 minutes. Obviously me and my traveling partner got no sleep that night. We had to get up early the next morning for a 7am tour of London we had booked months in advance. Needless to say it was a LONG day with no sleep. They moved us to a different room for the next 2 nights but at that point our stay was ruined because our ENTIRE schedule was off. I asked the guy on Monday morning about a refund for at least the first night's stay but got nowhere with him. This was my first time in London and my trip was RUINED. You can't recover from a lack of sleep the first night of your trip. I just got off the plane on my return trip to the US and got more sleep on that than at the hotel. I have audio of the noise but no pictures obviousl.

What a nice surprise and comfortable stay! The young lady who checked me in could not have been more friendly or accommodating. She alway seemed to be at the desk and was very friendly. While the room was on the small side, it was tastefully decorated and had all the necessary amenities. Also walking distance to Victoria station and many tourist sites. Will definitely stay again.

Room on small size but enough room for a short stay. Clean and modern bathroom, again on the small side.
Bed was comfortable and we were able to sleep with window open.
No lift or restaurant but that wasn't an issue for us. Staff offered to carry suitcase up to room.
Check in and check out was efficient.
£160 per night - reasonable for London. Less tgan 5 min walk to Victoria station.

The Beverly sits in Pimlico and is just 3 blocks from Victoria Station making access to all of London very easy. The staff is extremely helpful and kind. The nearby neighborhood contains coffee shops, good restaurants, and several pubs.

The hotel does not serve breakfast, and there is none available nearby. Rooms have no viable work space, so guests lounge on the bed with a laptop. There is no concierge service. It is just a place to shower and sleep. TV reception was truly sketchy--just a couple of channels.

We expected a clean, quaint boutique hotel and that’s absolutely how I would describe The Beverley Hotel. It was quiet, the bed was comfortable and the shower water pressure was great.
There is no elevator. Not a problem for us, but ask for a lower level if that’s an issue for you, for sure.
There’s not a vanity in the bathroom, just an fyi. The location is great. The Victoria Station is close with necessity shopping nearby. We went to St. George’s Tavern twice and it was really good!

Many of the outlets did not work. It took a couple of requests to get someone to figure out how to get the air conditioner working. Maybe that is why the room was a bit musty. We were not in the main building, but a small house/room just behind the building. This is the only room they have for 3 people to stay together.

Great central location if you want to talk from the coach station to some great sites in london.the bed was comfortable and the shower was good. The room is quite tiny, and it is a walkup without elevator so keep that in mind. This wasn't an issue for us. The staff was friendly, and they left a little amenity kit on the bed which was a nice touch.
I want to give this hotel a higher rating but the carpets in the bedroom were atrocious. They appear to have once been beige but have black dirt all over them. I made the mistake of removing my shoes and you could FEEL the sludge in the carpet. We had to wear slippers the whole time we were there. I'd highly recommend a deep clean of the carpets... It would have elevated our stay significantly.

The room was so small i could not fit my luggage in the room. It had to go behind the door and could barely fit out. This would be excusable as all I needed was a bed, but the service was awful.

I recieved a message saying that early check in is available dependent on room availability. When I arrived I was told nothing was available yet. That was fine. But when I asked if he could tell me when a room became available he said I could just check in at 3 when I'm supposed to.

After a flight that landed at 6am I was exhausted and had to spend from 8-3 walking the streets of London. It was fun, but if you want a break, don't expect one here.

It was convenient for the theatre. Staff were obliging. I didn’t feel the facilities were up to par for price, but overall a satisfactory stay. I slept well with no noise disturbance from the street below

Close to the Vitoria station, staffs are nice

Hotel walking distance is around 8 to 10 minutes from Victoria station, the location is easy to find. We arrived at late evening, still able to get something from the supermarket before they closed at 11pm. Shower is fine and the room is warm. Buckingham Palace is within walking distance. Staffs are very nice and we can leave our luggage’s for a while after we checkout.
