The room had no bedding or towels..we were given a room with bedding but no toilet seat,filthy dirty towels on the floor and wall heater broken on the floor. Staff offered us a free drink. We found alternative accommodation and would very much appreciate a full refund.

The venue is clean and provides everything for a night or two away as well as there been other nearby places to visit, eat or shop. The Staff were all very helpful and polite, every staff member interacted with greeted us first. They even went over and beyond expectations in relation to one of our party, who had severe food allergies. It's a great venue at a great price.

I was called today via someone saying they are from Kingstanding Inn. Our stay was 27-28th, today is the 29th, time 13.33pm. The caller said we broke a TV and we will have to pay for it. The lady said we were the last ones in the room. All 3 keys were given to the cleaner downstairs and room doors were left open, the lady that called said the doors were locked when ask who locked it, she said the cleaner, yet she said no one has been in the room since the 28th, we left about 9:30am on the 28th. Kingstanding Inn is also saying the room was not cleaned until today, the 29th. They have not provided any evidence, except word of mouth.This accusation took a organisation running a business more than 24 hours to contact me saying a TV screen allegedly!!! Been smashed. We advised them to call the police and fingerprints being taken and we are happy to cooperate with the police and a court proceeding. We are also recommending that all CCTV handed over to the police.
Our stay was a nightmare, I had 3 rooms, initially number 12, 15, 23. We could not stay in number 12 as mattress had a massive hole to the floor. So we requested a move, this was done unwillingly to no. 4. Our stay was the most uncomfortable stay ever, bathroom is full of mould, fan was blowing dirty fluff all over. I did not observe the reviews before and only wanted somewhere for me and my family of colour to stay for a night after our family memorial. Very dissatisfying, disappointing and distressing. 0121 493 0934.

Good for one night. Didnt get to use other facilities as arrived late and left early.

Only thing needed was a blind or curtain for the small window, due to light coming in, and another towel, as we had one bath sheet, and hand towel between 3 of us.

The only good thing about the hotel is that there was a bus stop 2 minutes away so very convenient to reach Birmingham city centre as well as a brand new heater
There was a near empty toilet roll and when I asked for a new one nobody came for the full 3 days of my stay. There was no bin for the room, a tv but not remote and the wifi password was not working

Rooms just need a few tweaks.

Booked this place as it is close to the athletics stadium, for the price we paid the room was sufficient and we could not hear sny noise from the pub. A lack of towels as there were 3 of us and we were given 1 bath towel, but staff managed to find us some more. A tv remote and bin would have been handy, but we understand that they are still tweaking the rooms. Staff friendly and the breakfast in the morning was lovely. We will book again.

Times have been hard for the hospitality industry, clearly! Staff were very welcoming and friendly. A good cooked breakfast, and can't complain about the beer prices. While communal areas were cleaned the room itself had been neglected, and the general quality of the decor and repair was poor.

Foi terrível nossa estadia nesse hotel, o quarto e o banheiro estavam muito sujos, o vaso estava cheio de coco, o quarto estava com outra cama desmontada entulhada, o pessoal da administração não tem controle nenhum, eu estava tomando banho quando deram a chave do quarto onde eu estava para outra pessoa, sorte que meu marido estava comigo, dizem que a parte de baixo é um restaurante mas na verdade é um bar, ficou som muito alto e pessoas gritando a madrugada inteira, deu ate policia na porta, tentamos procurar outro local mas a cidade estava muito cheia e não havia mais nada disponível, não recomendo alugarem neste hotel em hipótese nenhuma, completo desastre, foi terrível

This place shouldnt be allowed to operate as any kind of b&b, inn or hotel. Its filthy, bar area toilets had faeces everywhere, even some on the walls. Check in isnt til 3 so for most people this means leaving your bags here and going off to do whatever you've come to Birmingham to do. Arriving back after a concert at 11.30pm to check in, the bar area has maybe 7 customers. One is DJing earsplittingly loud hardcore garage to his two pals and the other poor elderly patrons are sitting sadly in a corner. You have to shout to the bar staff to get your room key over the noise. You get to said room only to find the key doesnt work. Return to the bar, wait 10 minutes whilst listening to more club classics at deafening volume (we'd been to the worlds biggest heavy metal concert, volume isnt an issue to us normally) to then get a different room key. This room is a twin (not a double as booked). Theres one broken lamp out of two. A non working tv with no remote. Two terribly uncomfortable beds with no mattress toppers. A kettle and no cups or amenities. Theres no phone to call 'reception' to follow this up. Not being able to face the two flights of stairs having physical limitations as it is we stay in the room. We get up and leave as early as possible, other concert goers who have stayed have stories even worse than ours. The people working there were friendly enough but it's a dump frankly and i'd expect better if it was a halfway house or location for refugees applying for asylum.

Bed sheets were stained. Room smelt like wet dog. Poo marks and stains on the walls everywhere. Dust and just generally dirty. Mouldy fork under the desk. Mouldy shower and bathroom as there was no vent. Stained carpet.
Staff where very helpful when room key didn’t work/they couldn’t find the correct room key so gave us another room.

Better than expected

The new manager and staff were amazing, so friendly and couldn't do enough to help you. The new manager has taken over and recognised the need for a bit of TLC. Bedroom clean, but the mattress was dreadful, no bin or kettle in the room. Lounge area very spacious and nicely decorated.
The staff were genuinely so pleasant, we will return.

When i arrived at 3.50pm they first told me that the room had been double booked then i was told that the room they are now putting me in the cleaner had gone home with the key. A 15 minute wait while they sorted that out

On getting my key I went to room where i found the door looks like it had been raided by the drugs squad as it was held together with screws. The room was far from clean, noisy from other guest door and the road. The was were covered in marks and stains. There was alson no tea and coffee making facilities.
I wish i took photos to show everyone.
I guess you get what you paid for but i won't be staying there again.

We had a good stay at the hotel. We had a twin room as I left it late to book up somewhere for the Guns n Roses concert.
The room was clean and tidy with an en-suite which was also clean and tidy.
We were only using the room for somewhere to sleep after the concert so the fact we had a small room (we knew this as we booked the small twin) was fine with us.
It was great value - we spent a third of the price of a room in the city centre - and this hotel was just as close to Villa park.
We used the bar facilities downstairs, and they were clean and tidy, and a round of drinks was pleasingly cheap.
When we chose to do the ground an Uber cost us £8. We decided to walk back (around 2.5 miles) and this was fine for us.
It’s a basic hotel room - but was great value for money.
I also found out that it is under new management- so this seems to be working well as we were happy and would come back again.
Also the staff we encountered were really nice and helpful - which always helps.

I spent 50£ for a room 2 adults 1 kid. It was fantastic staying there according to the price. What else you want like 3 person stayed only for 50£. Free Car Parking.
Near to city centre. I recommend to take bus pass (one day single or family pass)
That is much cheaper than paying car park in a city centre.

I highly recommend this hotel. Because I prefer to save money for outing not for hotel because I only use room foe sleeping.

A convenient airport stopover.

I was dreading the stay after reading some of the reviews, but we found the Kingstanding Inn to be fine. The staff and locals were very welcoming, the drinks were reasonably priced and the room was comfortable. We only had two niggles. There was no lift so we had to drag our cases up two flights of stairs, and down again, and the kitchen was closed due to management changeover. Checkout was also simple.

Hotels.com failed to pass on the hotel check in instructions that state photo ID must be used for check in validation purposes.

Thankfully, the hotel staff allowed us to check in without this, as we were staying for my daughters wedding.

Room was clean, and value for money.
Could have used with a kettle and couple of cups in the room, so we could have had hot drinks. But for the room price, we’d definitely stay there again.

The venue website, along with on site literature all state a wide (and delicious looking) food menu we were looking forward to trying.

Sadly, during our stay it became apparent that no food was available. Whether this was perhaps temporary as a result of chef illness etc, wasn’t made clear.

If you’re planning to stay here, pack a travel kettle and cups, and possibly cutlery.

WiFi worked in the bar area, but refused point blank to connect in our room (room one).

The lady checking me in was great. The downstairs bar looked very nice but the room was really bad. Mouldy hole in the ceiling, bathroom smelled like bleach when I went in but then very stale soon after, dog hair and hair pins on the floor, tobacco and rolling papers in the broken drawer, the window latches were broken which is very dangerous for children, the shower panel had fallen off, it was rough. Fortunately the bed was comfy and the sheets were clean.

The chef wasn't on site due to sickness so no breakfast available.

This hotel was not as advertised Firstly we found it difficult to communicate with the staff at the check in because there was a dj on and the music was loud ,the person we spoke to told us there was a mix up with the booking and had to allocate different rooms which were only doubles ,we said this would not be ok and then they gave us another double room and said they would sort it for the next day which we accepted because it was getting late however 2 rooms without heating ending us sleeping with clothes on and tv not working 1 room had holes in ceiling dripping water into the bed underneath this was booked for 2 nights but we had to book another hotel We tried to speak to someone early on the Saturday however there was no staff to inform only cleaners

I personally wrote a report to the hotel however i have not yet had a response

This is the worst hotel and customer care i have ever experienced
Who in the right mind does breakfast from 10am till noon never in any hotels i have stayed indi this time normally 8am till 10am

Room was freezing cold with the only heating being supplied by a small wall mounted electric heater, which was left on full power all afternoon/night and still struggled to take the chill off. No hooks or heating in the bathroom. Black mould around the window and bathroom. Room just big enough for 2 single beds. Desk supplied but couldn't open the drawers due to size of room. Was advised there would be no option to purchase breakfast as the one lady that cooks it on on holiday.

Affordable. Customer service not upto mark. Had to struggle to contact customer care or helpdesk. Wanted to get water at around 10 - 1 PM but couldn't reach available phone number No intercom. Cleanliness is ok. Little far from city centre but there is good connectivity with bus stops nearby. Somethings need renovation in bathroom. No window view. There was small window of about 2 Ft x 3 Ft at the top for ventilation. We could see only sky through this ventilation window 😀

The \"Pub\" is an ex-servicemen's club, full of upbeat, salt-of-the-earth types the military typically recruits and always churns out; so you'll never lack for someone to talk to, or a friendly word or laugh. The current landlady had only taken over the day prior, so was not yet hooked up to provide breakfast, though she assured me that it will be available on my next visit. There will be one.

We booked as a quick stay during a week long work trip.
We were expecting no frills however the room was beyond unpleasant. Wallpaper hanging off the wall, the window had clearly been open to clear the damp smell, the radiator was hanging off of the wall and something was moving on the bed. We went downstairs and appologised but said we simply couldn't stay and explained why. We were told they would cancel our stay on hotels.com so we didn't get charged.... they didn't... we then tried to contact them multiple times and raise a dispute but no luck. They took the money despite saying they would cancel and understood our reasons. Unpleasant!!

Don’t recommend it. Very unsafe, bad smelling hole. Not for family at all. No proper ventilation in the rooms and the bathrooms stinks.

Most uncomfortable stay I ever had. The beds and mattress were awful and couldn’t sleep all night as the mattress springs kept pushing out. No bins and pillows were useless. Wouldn’t recommend anyone to stay here

Average may be pushing it here..

Rooms quite small and dated. No vending machines or food/drinks available after 12am. Extraction fan was not working, very humid. Overall very out dated but nice people there.

We stayed for one night as we travelled up from Essex to see Madness in Birmingham
We booked 2 rooms for one night … when checking in at the dull and dingey bar we were told we had booked one room for 2 nights
After showing our reservation the woman who checked us in scuttled off and on her return told us yes we were in fact booked for one night and 2 rooms
The place was filthy
Our room had a broken blind at the window which was essentially cloth pinned against the window
There was a “travellers christening” that night which meant on our return from our night out we were greeted with loud, drunken people falling about and lots of noise both inside and outside the hotel or should I say hostel
The room was freezing as the heater was broken
The pillow was as flat as a pancake as was the duvet
Couldn’t wait to check out the next day. Barely slept due to noise
Did not risk eating there
Avoid at all costs!!!!

The rooms look nothing like the pictures online. In my room the radiator was broken & hanging off the wall. They had put in a portable heater which was just blowing cool air. So I was cold, the whole time I was in there. There was Kettle in room but with no cups or tea /coffee facilities. No bin. The bed was very uncomfortable & you can feel the springs. The room was generally dirty, stains on bed. When I returned to the hotel after my night out, I was locked out. I had to bang on the door to be let in, I tried to call them, but the phone line was unavailable. I don't normally write reviews, but this place just Terrible!!

I was only there from late afternoon on 6th Oct till the following morning. Was unable to get breakfast there despite the fact that I was informed although being a Saturday I could obtain breakfast but that proved not to be the case.

Stay away. Its above a pub in rough area.
You can hear noises all time. In the night many time people tried to get into the rooms looking for privacy with girls they met in bar. Broken heater. Hairs on carpet. Broken blinds, clogged basin and what not .....

One of the worst stays ever.
The room was stingy. You could smell it the moment you walk in. Had to open the windows (which doesn't even have a view!) and leave the room for two hours.
The bed is just terrible. I could feel the springs against my back! Had to sleep on the duvet just to provide myself with some comfort!
The sound insulation is the worst! The room next door had their TV on and the sound was infiltrating through the walls! Literally had to put my noise cancelling headphones to get some shut eye!

The toilet had no paper roll!

There's no safe. No complimentary tea/coffee in the room. There is no kettle. Their wasn't even a wardrobe!!!

This place isn't even suitable for just a nightstand.

Never coming back.

Never again! Wish I had read the reviews. First impressions weren't great. On arrival there was a large gang of youths in the car park and pimped up cars racing about, my daughter was scared getting out of the car.....and it just got worse. Slow checking in, corridor to room smelt of weed, radiator riped off the wall with broken controls, damaged furniture, no bin, tired decor, one pillow each, music playing until at least 1am, screaming and shouting until about 3am. By 4am we felt so unsafe we decided to leave and didn't return for our second nights stay.

The hotel is cheap and cheerful but needing some tlc as decoration well past its sell by date. Staff very friendly.
Didnt eat there but told dont have gluten free bread breakfasts although they would get some if requested. Would recommend some stuff be kept in freezer not hard.
