There was hair in the bath so I couldn’t have a shower but my partner still had a shower and then we checked out around 3 instead of the actual time which was 11 the stafff was amazing very welcoming I would like to come again but I hope the room will be more clean when visiting as I did enjoy the pool and the garden

Absolutely lovely stuff, they really made our stay extra comfortable and were more than happy to help with anything we needed. The room was spotless, and the bed was really comfortable. We had both dinner and the breakfast sent to our room, and they were both delicious! Overall a really lovely stay in such a beautiful old building, and I’d highly recommend taking a walk around the grounds before you go!

Stated for 3 nights. It's a lovely property in pleasant surrounds and would stay again. Slightly let down by slow service at times. Mistakes with ordered. Staff were lovely and clearly very busy. Food was enjoyable with a slightly limited menu as we ate dinner twice. First night my food was lukewarm which was disappointing. Dishes sat in corridor overnight from the previous morning and room could have done with being vacuumed during our stay. Overall would recommend and would stay again but areas to work on.

Just got back from a stay that felt like a dream birthday treat and retreat. The hotel was cosy, beautiful. The ground was so peaceful, it felt like time slowed down. Every corner invited calm and rest. Above all though, was the staff. They were genuinely kind, attentive, and always ready to help. It surpassed my expectations.

I’ve stayed at a few handpicked hotels and I don’t think this hotel met its usual standard. Mainly because the hotel was tired and needed a make over. Staff were friendly and although breakfast was slow the lady at front of house was great.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The staff were so friendly which added to the perfect environment. My room was very clean and perfectly positioned to catch the light in the morning. I had the most luxurious massage (thanks Stephanie) and I'm already planning my next visit.

Beautiful property, room had constant noise due to big fans outside window. Stayed in Sirius, beautiful room but not if you are a light sleeper. Bar service was extremely slow as there was not enough staff. Staff were lovely just not enough of them and it wasn’t overly busy so that was not the problem. Spa and breakfast were very nice

The sports facilities , swimming pool, gym, sauna, hot tub and steam room are all in excellent order and well maintained. Dining is exceptional whether it’s Breakfast or Evening Dinner. Whilst the food in the restaurant is amazing, the only criticism I have, is there needs to be more obvious options for families, 3 main course and drinks for over £100 pound for adults is fine for the quality of the food, but way to expensive for a family.

We knew it was an old and historic hotel but wasn’t expecting it to be so drab, dark and dingy. It wasn’t very clean in the communal areas although our room was very clean. The bar/lounge was so disappointing, the large windows at either side were covered by closed curtains, the room was unclean to say the least. The small area by the bar was so unwelcoming and uncomfortable to sit. The restaurant was closed so we had to order from the bar menu for our lunch and dinner, not a very healthy menu. The pool and jacuzzi were lovely, well kept and clean. The grounds are lovely, such a shame the inside is invested in, it needs a total facelift inside. All of the staff though were absolutely amazing! Nothing too much trouble, so helpful, polite and friendly, can’t praise them enough, especially the receptionist, she was just wonderful (blonde lady), this was the saving grace. We had breakfast in the restaurant the next morning, which had a good choice and was delicious. Although again very dark and drab, it can be made light and airy and welcoming and still be in keeping with the history of the building.

Amazing location and fantastic staff. We booked for a single night as a Christmas treat for 6 of us ranging from 9 to 84. The hotel itself is simply stunning, oozing history everywhere you look. What made the occasion so special however was the quality of service from every member of staff. From check in, to the spa through to our excellent Christmas meal nothing was too much trouble and everyone was polite and warm

The property is stunning. Absolutely gorgeous and beautifully maintained. Staff are all fantastic personalities and nothing is too much trouble. If had to be extremely picky - would say the bar is over priced and the pillows are too soft but nothing that effected our stay and would recommend to anyone.

Wanting to be close to great food and other fun in Birmingham but away from the stress, New Hall was perfect for our group of five friends. The spa and their staff don’t get enough praise. The lounges and gardens and drinks make for easy unwinding. Of course, the grounds and the atmosphere are the draw. I was expecting to be overcharged for services as a result but they really provided value. The actual bedrooms (at least ours) were smaller and not fancy but they did leave nice treats for my birthday :)

This venue exceeded our expectations. We were staying overnight after a long drive at the end of a working day, heading on to an appointment next day. We'd chosen New Hall due to the location and possibility of some pampering.
What we hadn't factored in was the quality of the restaurant. I feel churlish for having called to check that feeding vegans would be OK. There were several excellent vegan options on the dinner menu and on the breakfast menu. Service was excellent and the chef is a genius.
Spa next morning did not disappoint. A steam room with genuine heat and steam! a good (small) sauna, lovely pool, all spotlessly clean and well attended.
One of the best value stays we've had in the UK.

I booked a nights stay for my wifes 40th birthday, the reviews were great and she loves history and old buildings so it sounded perfect. On arrive the building and surrounding grounds were amazing i can only imagine what its like in the summer full bloom. The staff were amazing and couldn't do enough for us and the room was very clean and had everything we needed. We didn't have any treatments in the spa as it was a late booking and there were no spots available, but the pool, sauna and other facilities were great and it wasn't busy which is always a bonus. Breakfast was really nice and i loved how it was in the old part of the building, there was plenty of choice of food and we didn't have to wait for our hot food. Overall it was an amazing experience for both of us and we will definitely be staying there again.

However room had no addtions you would normally find, ie tooth brush and paste,ear buds et al. No porter service and mini was had no contents less small milk for hot drinks. Swimming pool was great, however located in seperate annex to hotel. Not ideal when wearing bathrobe and hotel slippers. Overall hotel was fine, somewhat over priced based on room and services in room.

We have just come back from an amazing weekend at New Hall Hotel and Spa. It is a beautiful historic hotel with clean comfortable rooms, friendly staff and a delicious breakfast.
There is good size pool, which is kept at the perfect temperature and guests can also use the sauna, steam room and hot tub.

Gardens and house overall are beautiful. Feels like you’re staying in a national trust property. Staff are super helpful. Our suite for a family of four was perfect, would recommend the Sachaverelle suite - awesome bathroom. Just think the bar/lounge/restaurant need a bit of money spending on them. Wow. This hotel is beautiful. So much history, wonderful grounds. It's peaceful and quiet. The food is incredible but what really stood out for my family and I was the customer service. The manager, Louis, opened the door for us upon arrival and took photos for us on departure. The point here is that from start to finish his professionalism was exceptional. There was an impatient customer behind us on check-in but Louis didn't panic, he politely told him he was dealing with us first and would be with him shortly. The attention to detail and willingness to help us at all times clearly rubbed off on all the staff throughout the hotel. The hospitality industry should take a lesson from the way they do things here. We had an amazing time.
