Pleasant, large room in seperate building away from the main building (which also had rooms. Bar with food service. Car parking available. Decor was a bit tired, but otherwise clean and tidy. Good breakfast.

Room was clean but very dated however for what we paid we can't really complain. Parking is free in onsite car park you just need to enter registration number at reception. We meet family for a meal, menu typical pub food but all perfectly acceptable and staff very pleasant. Walled outside seating area which was nice for having a drink as weather was warm. The hotel is on the high street so be aware that you will experience some traffic noise especially if your room is at the front.

The room was spacious and the bed was more than a double, greatly appreciated.
The shower, although in the bath, was powerful and the water temperature easily controlled.
The TV wasn't huge but a taller guest might knock their head on it as it was on the wall just where I walked round the bed from my side.

This hotel needs an awful lot of refurbishment. We arrived and the radiators had been switched off all day. The room was freezing cold and we waited in our coats for it to warm up but had to eventually ask for support from the staff who provided an electric heater. We were in room 17, if the curtains are closed it covers the radiator completely. The ceiling has large cracks in it and the plaster looks as though it might fall off at any time.
There was black mould in the bathroom and the radiator is rusting badly. Upon arrival the paintwork and appearance of this hotel gives a poor impression and sadly our experience was poor.

I chose to stay at the Greene king following a lovely stay we had by the chain in London at Christmas however was solely disappointed by our stay last night and I am requesting a full refund.
First of all, we were given a room across the road from the hotel (22). From the minute we entered the building there was a strong smell of damp and upon entering the room the smell was stronger, the walls were marked and damp and the room was unclean and the toilet didn't flush properly. The lamp was smashed needed a complete deep clean.
The lady moved us to another room next door to the hotel (154). This room was better in terms of the damp smell, however was completely unclean. The sofa bed was covered in dog hairs and my daughter has an allergy to dogs. The bedding had black marks on, the room wanted deep cleaned and was filthy, the windows were blowing through we had to pack towels on them and the noise was absolutely horrendous staying with a young family. The shouting of inappropriate sexual things from the beer garden was disgusting and we had to keep the televisions on loud until well past 11pm.
Because of the uncleanliness, 4 of us had to stay in one double bed having very little sleep.
I also want to point out how dangerous the bathroom door is, it’s a barn door that locks from the outside and no way of opening this from the inside which my son discovered. It’s a fire hazard as nobody is getting out of that room in the tiny window and it’s dangerous.

The staff were friendly however my sleep was severely impacted by old single pane windows that were noisy, an uncomfortable mattress and too much light coming over the curtains. The bathroom had cobwebs and peeling walls and the fittings were old and worn. I was attending a training course nearby and my poor experience at the hotel definitely spoiled my capacity to learn. I didn't enjoy my stay and I will definitely not be returning.

The location of the hotel was very good as we walked around quite a bit. When we arrived we expected 2 twin beds, however we had a twin and pull-out sofa….no issues, just unexpected. Within minutes we discovered that the tv did not work and they immediately changed us to another room. The bed configuration was the same, but the decor was much fresher. Both rooms were very quiet. Overall it was a good experience!

We were met by very pleasant young man who explained everything very well. The food was very good and reasonable price. Rooms and beds were very clean and comfortable. The cooked breakfast was delicious, and the continental breakfast choice, is one of the best i have ever seen - so much choice. Serving staff were very customer focused and Laura particularly was very helpful and pleasant. Plenty of car parking. would most certainly stay here again in the future. Well done to what appears to be a young conscientious hospitality team .

Hotel that books rooms that aren’t available
My daughter and I booked and paid for a family room at the Coleshill Hotel as we were meeting up with friends in Birmingham and there were no twin rooms available. We were fine with this as we would then have plenty space to have drinks with our friends before going out and when we came back (our friends were also booked at the Coleshill). When we went to our room, it was a double room so I went back down to reception to let the, know there had been a mistake. She informed me that they had no family rooms left, I persisted saying that they had taken the booking so it must have been available when we booked it. She mumbled something about how sometimes companies like hotels.com don’t always tell them what size of room is booked, She then said she’d check to see if she could swap me into one of those guests hadn’t arrived yet. I was then informed that the bookings beside the family rooms had ‘must not be moved’ beside them. I let the receptionist know that I was unhappy with the situation and that I wanted a refund of the extra amount paid for the family room. I then spoke to the hotel manager who promised me that he would refund one nights stay for me but that it would need to wait until the Monday morning because it had been booked through hotels.com. Two weeks on and still no sign of a refund. Shocking way to treat paying guests. There is no way of contacting hotels.Com directly about this and the hotel clearly aren’t interested in sorting it. Won’t be back

Lovely room although a little conscious of walking around too much as the floor really creaks in places and I j own how annoying it is when you are the person staying below. A broken window has been poorly fixed with wood leaving a gap of around 7mm at the bottom. Had asked for a quiet room which it is until the birds start singing at 5 am.

Stayed on building opposite the pub. The closest thing to a hostel / bedsit premises I gave stayed in for a while. A faint odour of 'old' hits you at the front door - not the best. Check in / out was good, nice and friendly. Evening meal in pub was ok. A nice Merlot though a little pricey for a large one. All in all, they wont see me again...

We only stayed one night as attending an event at the NEC. The bedroom was fine . Didnt like having to climb up to the second floor though as have some mobility problems . It was oainful and slow for me. I didnt notice any options for disabled on the booking site.

I was really happy with my service because the front desk staff changed my room so that I could have a bed that was more appropriate for my size, 6'1\" without me even asking. The other thing that I was really great was the attached restaurant had a much better than average selection of vegetarian dishes that very quite tasty.

The Coleshill Hotel is perfectly located so I booked 4 rooms.

I stayed in the coach house which was run down, and tired, bed was comfortable and a great shower.
Food was served at the pub across the road and it was awful, under cooked and saturated in fat, and breakfast room was grubby with food seemed like it had been stored for days, not a very hygenic arrangement.

Hotel itself is fine, clean, the room was comfortable and well equipped with TV and tea and coffee making equipment. The food in the restaurant was variable. Starters were expensive for what they were and some of the main courses were excellent while others were only mediocre.

Great staff and restaurant. I have been contemplating staying here for years as it’s further away from where I usually stay for work. Having seen the rooms on the hotels.com site and the hotel site I decided to book. Disappointed that the room I had was no where near as nice as the rooms advertised. The room I was in overlooked the road and the room had three single glazed windows. One at the front, side and rear. I think the front window opening and closing latch’s were broken as the window pane frame was screwed to the main frame. I don’t think this was closed fully before this was done as I could hear the birds at 0515 every morning and the traffic very easily. On my last night a group of around ten men were talking fairly loudly until 0040 outside the main hotel entrance. This had started at around 1030. I have never had so much disturbed sleep in a week. I am hoping to have a room that resembles what I have seen next week. I was accommodated across the road on the third floor which isn’t an easy climb with a suitcase full of stuff for a week when you are in your mid 50’s. Would have given stonking feedback if it wasn’t for the room. As mentioned great staff, restaurant and there are plenty of alternative places to eat within walking distance.

Vegetarian sausages coated in a plastic type of skin of which my wife didn't like and so left the breakfast.

The staff are great, so friendly and welcoming. The food is great. The bed was very comfy and the bathroom huge. Great access for the NEC just a few miles away. The only thing I would say is the carpet in the room needs replacing.
