The staff when we arrived were unwelcoming and then the actual receptionist felt distant such a shame
The actual room was basic one pillow each and the bed was awful right next to a fire door which went off all night. For what we paid I felt this could have been better. I came back as we have stayed before but doubt I will use again. Breakfast staff lacked any form of communication.

I was charged over £100 extra at check-in for two days parking and having two dogs in the room. This was not mentioned when I booked, but I had no other option. Car park is not secure and was filthy and was full of rubbish, bins overflowing etc. there was also a dead rat in the parking space at the front door. Won't be back.

Room excellent staff excellent but the snack food behind the bar dates need checking regular as peanuts 3 months out of date spoke to a member of staff who corrected this instantly and checked all goods on sale on the bar they could do with carling beer instead of becks or stella ovetall good eventhough building work ongoing

The reception staff were professional and welcoming. The hotel is undergoing a major renovation (transformation) project, for example the existing bar and dining area are rather tired. The parking was expensive - £15 for 24 hours! We did not appreciate their cashless policy.

We booked a double room & got two beds pushed together..!! The air conditioning wasnt working properly. Room too hot even though we turned the air conditioning down it reverted back. Friends of ours had a room on the next floor & they had the same problem with the air conditioning! Clearly the air conditioning wasnt working properly. The room only provided one pillow each for the beds . You would expect to find additional pillows if required. None in the room. Took a photo & showed the receptionist, only half a flush button on the toilet half broken off...!! We realise the hotel is under refurbishment but surely you wouldnt expect have these issues..! Put off of using another Ibis hotel.

The hotel & staff were great, breakfast good with a wide choice, the meals at the bar had a good choice, but the only thing I would say was the the food needs to be hotter & be served on hot plates, from the bar, the food was served warm, but but buy the time you half-way through eating, it is cold.
All staff were very helpful in forfilling all & any request.

Room was very tidy and relatively comfortable. The staff were courteous enough, but could do with learning how to smile every now and again. The breakfasts were average at best, and the evening meals were well overpriced for what you were served. Steak pie with a blob of mashed potato and a ramekin of congealed \" gravy \" for just shy of £17 ?. No veg. Just one small pie a small blob of mash and a blob of gloopy gravy. I won't be staying again.

Awful! Can I give it minus stars? £300 for a scruffy, smelly, mediocre hotel. I’d feel hard done to if I had spent £80 a night. Add insult to injury, you then get charged £15 a day to park. Paying £300 for a night for a single adult in a room, surely parking can be covered.

I get it is in the middle of renovating. But come on, either reduce the costs or try and keep it tidy.

Shower was a waste of time, head was broke so I think the floor managed more water on it than me!

It was a literal building site. No pre warning, no instructions from reception after gleefully charging for overnight parking. I walked an entire hotel hallway with raw overhanging wires, debris all over the floor, tools and broken fixtures. HSE would have a field day. Finally broke through a barrier at the far end and found our room and it delightfully overlooked the dumpsters and was right over the kitchen I presume from the amount of staff out there shouting, smoking and slamming the door of the storage portacabin. Don’t get me started on the sofa bed. This stay sucked.

Our room was nice clean and warm and the staff were fine. The hotel is nicely close to the NEC.

However the rest of the hotel seemed to be malfunctioning. The lifts were not working properly. The Fire exit had ‘DO NOT ENTER’ signs on. Other Fire Doors were propped open. We didn't sleep well partly because the beds were very hard and also we were nervous about the fire regulations being not adherd to and what other safety regulations might have been not working as they should. The key card wouldn't work for the gym.

We were warned in advance that the hotel was being refurbished — however this was only a week before we arrived and by then it was too late to find another option. We wish that they had told us this BEFORE we booked there.

The Ibis lift at Birmingham International rail station was'nt working so had to carry luggage down 3 flights of stairs,directions to hotel well marked and not too long a walk to hotel.
Check in staff very pleasant and helpful as were all the hotel staff.
Our room was a disabled room,not quite sure why and was extremely cold,did warm up with heating control but went off when not in room so had to put it back on after we came back from dinner.
Room clean but carpet very worn and beds comfortable.
Only in room for a few hours as had early flight so bearable.
Walked back to station in morning to catch air link to airport and luckily lift working!

Rooms were clean, but beds were rock hard, we were only provided with 1 flat pillow each and requested for 2 more which we had to collect from reception an hour n half later, the rooms were too hot we had the air con on full and the window open (it’s even snowing outside) and we were still sweating. We have to leave the hotel at 6am for our flight and we haven’t managed to even get a minutes sleep despite being awake nearly 24 hours. The receptionist was super friendly however she was working alone on a really busy night hence the slow response to everything.

Trying to find the hotel after arriving back Birmingham airport was a terrible experience . Initially visited the Ibis budget hotel and told wrong hotel . Asked for directions and told ‘ go and ask over the road at valet parking’. Valet parking unable help and said they didn’t know where the hotel was . after walking around in the dark at 11:30pm trying to get answer, we finally located the hotel by following other people who had initially also gone to the wrong hotel just like us . Communication regarding breakfast not clear and on arrival in the dining area all the hot serving dishes for cooked food were empty! Only when the manager appeared he explained breakfast was cooked to order and then followed with curt ‘ what do you want then’? A very poor and disjointed experience

For a hotel near the airport, this is a good hotel. It is a short walk to the terminal and the hotel is clean. When I stayed, it was a bit loud with vacationers getting an early start. There's not much near the hotel but that;s to be expected.

Room was quiet basic but comfy. Plus point was that they had an iron and ironing board.
Downsides were that the bar closed very early and i couldn't buy bottles for the room (i got back at just gone 12 from a gig, there was a couole who were looking for a vending machine which they didn't have for those after hours snacks) . Went down for breakfast and that looked a bit ropey. Stairs to which looked like they hadnt been cleaned in a long time (ok i was the back stairs)
Apart from that the staff were very nice and courteous.

This was a strange experience. Check in was fine. Plenty of space in the car park. The lifts work. Breakfast was great, as was the lovely lady working there. Then the room...

Pros: it was big. The bathroom was great overall. Good shower. Clean. Large bed. Excellent blackout. Very quiet. Large TV with all the channels, albeit facing the window, not the bed.

Cons: weird lino floor - no carpet. Barely any furniture: huge bed (booked a twin but got a king - not a big deal as I was travelling with my daughter but could be awkward for some) but no bedside tables?! One side had a weird over-bed table thing but the other person had to put all their stuff on the floor. No storage, apart from about 5 hangers. Not a drawer, not a cupboard (apart from the empty fridge cupboard which had no shelves in it, just a hole), not even a desk or surface of any kind on which to put your stuff. We just had to leave all our bags and cases open on the floor. No chair. Stingy with the coffee/milk sachets and my daughter was outraged by the lack of biscuits which she's come to expect from other chains! The pillows - one tiny pillow each. Thank goodness we'd brought our own just in case. Hot as a furnace when we arrived (it was December) and it took a lot of effort to work out how to get this under control without the fans blowing a gale.

Overall - booked it because it was cheap. I now know why. Great value for a room including breakfast, but under no circumstances would I stay here again.

They had a lay by that clearly stated guest drop off and I was drooling my bag off. Not happy!

Upon arrival after 9pm, there was nobody at the reception desk. In the absence of a bell, we had to wait quite some time for someone to show up. When 2 staff finally did appear, we were made to wait even longer while they were chatting and laughing with each other while tapping into the computer.

The room itself was okay, not super modern but clean. The big bed was comfortable unless you hit the middle, where the 2 mattresses met.

There were no bags for sanitary products in the bathroom.

Overall, am okay stay but not a place for more than one night.

The room was ok for the price but it was too hot! I tried several times to lower the thermostat but it would reset to 20 (the room felt a lot warmer than that though!) It was also quite dark, especially where the desk was located, which made working tricky. The bed was comfortable though and the bathroom was nice. All in all it was fine for me what I needed for one night.

Room was immaculate, even overcleaned, recently renovated - 42+ size smart tv, so many channels....Nice and quiet in the room, full length windows with blackout curtains.

When i arrived I was informed the hotel was overbooked and i had to go to the Ibis airport hotel. They provided me with a taxi as i had ymto leave my car at Ibus Style.
Today i asked the hotel Ibus Style to book me a taxi to go back to the Ibis Style for 10.50. It did not turn up and after numerous calls to taxi company and Ibis staff i was collected 55 minutes later......appalling .... i want my money refunded. ...
