Jaime was very friendly, the place was very clean. Better than expected for the price. One can use the garden and livingroom. I was torn between Jaimie's place and the Premier inn so I am glad of the choice. the only thing that would need improving would be that the bathroom was in the small side.Otherwise a great stay and I will be coming again.

Jamie met me on arrival and was friendly, welcoming and offered to aasist me with local information.
The walls seemed quite thin, I could hear one person snoring in a room next to me, and a couple in the other room next to me talking loudly until around midnight.
The shower plughole was blocked and backed up when I had a shower, and the bathroom window wasn't secure. I looked for the host before I left for work but couldn't find him to share this information.
Overall, the room was acceptable for what I paid. It had beautiful surroundings, and the host was great on arrival.
I think it just needs a bit of a refresh.

This was our third stay at Haymills and once again the facilities were great and the breakfast was huge.

Stayed overnight with a friend for a concert at Birmingham NEC, very reasonable price, clean and cosy. Friendly owner who lives in a separate house at the bottom of the property. Cooked breakfast available and a coffee machine that does a pretty good hot chocolate. Only slight downside is if you are a light sleeper it's close to a train track and the airport, but personally this didn't bother me.

Owner was very welcoming, friendly and helpful and the location was perfect for our needs. Overall cleanliness was good and the bed was comfortable, however the en suite left a lot to be desired. There was mould in the shower and behind the sink and the toilet moved when sitting on it. Tea/coffee facilities in the bedroom would have been nice too. These are located in the dining area.

Was greeted with a very warm welcome and was informed about the facility at the place ( unlimited tea/coffee, shared living room, how to use the key to get in ( front door) options of places to eat and supermarket up the road) was guided to my room and asked when I was thinking off having breakfast. I had booked the single room, the bed was comfy and clean, there was a very small on suit with a small shower, sink and toilet. Room had a large wardrobe, good size tv, a chair and two small tables. Outside was a hot tub ( which wasn’t on their website, so wasn’t able to use it due to not bringing my swimsuit) plenty of chairs to sit on, a bbq and a amazing view. This place is close to nec ( 10min ) and the airport, so you could see and hear the planes flying over ( this wasn’t a problem, I love seeing them ) now the breakfast was the best cooked breakfast I have had in a long time, the poached eggs was perfect and everything was good quality. There was cereal and orange juice as well. The owner live at a bungalow at the end of the garden so the whole house is only for guests, but if you needed help all you had to do was ring the bell or phone him( there was a note with his number on) nothing was to much trouble for him and he made you fell very welcome.

Stayed for 1 night in room 7. Door didnt lock properly, but didnt realise this till early hours of morning when it randomly popped open. Had to push very hard to lock. Tap in bathroom barely held in place with mastic dangerous if you ask me. Carpet stained in room and landing. No kettle in room havevyo access coffee machine in lounge.

Haymills Guesthouse is situated around 10-15 minutes from the M42 motorway and the NEC on the A452. The driveway is around 30 metres past the garden centre with the high brick wall (I missed it first time and had to back round). The large, gravel driveway has ample parking.
Jamie, the host is very welcoming and as he wasn't at the property when I arrived, explained how to get in and how to find my room over the phone.
The room is of an average size and was spotlessly clean, (we had a twin) with forward facing wardrobe (plenty of hangers), large chest of drawers, small desk and chair that had the TV on. Small ensuite - the shower looked a little tired, but when the water came through, it was hot and did the job. Towels and shower gel are provided.
There is only one towel rail in the bathroom and no other hooks to hang clothes/towels on.
The beds were comfortable with two pillows and there was an extra cover on top of the wardrobe and an oil filled radiator to top up the room heat if needed.
There is a light, airy lounge for guests to use; the dining room can also be used for your own food if needed. There is a coffee machine available 24/7 for guest use.
Being 10 minutes from NEC, it's a great location. Jamie booked us a taxi (cost £9) and we used a black cab to return (£16). There is a small Sainsburys and lots of eateries around a mile down the road in Balsall Common, though we used just eat for takeaway and visited Ye Olde Saracens Pub (expensive, but worth it)

Really nice place with a lovely owner, one piece of advice check exactly where on the road it is as the satnav takes you near on the correct side of the road and due to a central reservation on the road you cant easily turn around if you pass it. I would definitely stay again

The bed was fantastic, best bed at a B&B ever for us and that is saying something, we are really fussy and usually take a mattress topper everywhere with us. My friend and I were visiting Birmingham for some shopping as an early birthday break for myself and after reading the great reviews for Haymills we decided to stay there. So glad we did as we had a lovely 1 night stay. Our room overlooking the garden was large and comfortable and breakfast was fabulous. Jamie was so friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. We will definitely stay again next time we're in the area.

The booking was made and paid for in Dec 2018 for a stay in Aug 2019 (for event at the NEC).
6 days before we were due to arrive we received an email telling us that we had been rebooked by Haymills into a different property. There was no reply to my emails asking why they had held a booking for 8 months and cancelled the week before.
I contacted the phone number of the alternative property (Barncroft) who confirmed they had taken the booking for us from Haymills as the owners of Haymills had gone on holiday.
I think this is deeply unprofessional to cancel us like that when the booking was made and paid for months earlier, and not reply to emails.
Would not consider this place under any circumstances. Barncroft, by comparison was well run with a lovely friendly owner who did her best to make us welcome.
